New Growth!

   Say hello to my newest baby. I put it as my first picture today because it kinda looks like a potted flower. You know how much I love a flower! :-)) It's a combination of soft turquoise and white thread.
    It's one of the newest projects I've been working on since I've been dodging the heat wave. I love the shell butterfly on it. I have a few other shell dangles too.
     I'm contemplating using these on some projects today, because the heat, while it'll be a little bit lower, is still not low enough to make me want to get into anything that's gonna make me warm...er. I say that because I have a black and white scarf I need to get to work crocheting, BUT...not in this heat! I can hardly stand the hormonal heat I have myself, (even when the weather outside isn't that bad)...but add a heat wave and a bunch of yarn over my lap and you have "Heaty Mama"! She's not very nice! LOL I'd just as soon not go there!!
   I made a couple of other things over the last few days too.
I didn't put any dangles on these. I kinda like them without any...But this next summery beauty, while it's definitely colorful, in my opinion it still  needed some flash!
 I thought that this heart-shaped dangle was the perfect flash-point for it. What do you think?! More importantly, would you wear it?!...Before you answer, ask yourself: "Just exactly how confident am I?!" You have to know who you are to wear this one!!...I have some other heart-shaped dangles waiting for a project to accentuate.
The one with the cameo is much larger than the others. I'm gonna have to make the crochet flower much smaller so that it doesn't have an overwhelming look. I have a couple other necklaces I already made like that. I'll probably put them in the shop this week.
   Here are a few other dangles I have in my stash...
And even a vintage one!
   So, as you can see, with all of this....
...I've got plenty to keep me busy during this heat wave. 'Go ahead heat wave! Make my day!!!'...Wonder if Clint Eastwood ever crocheted?!....I'm becoming delusional again. It's gonna be a loooooong day, isn't it?! LOL I may need a lot of naps in between all of this creativity before this day is over!

 If You Live Long Enough

If you live long enough
and experience you earn,
there's one great big lesson
in this life you will have learned;

that if you laugh your way through it,
and you're positive all the time,
then your heart becomes a magnet
and whats bad stops 'on a dime'!

Love is drawn into your life
like a butterfly to a flame;
People's smiles drop from the sky,
like the rain that does the same.

And because you're lifted up,
there's nothing you can't do.
If you live long enough
your date with "Life" is never through!

  3. Hello! Ever so happy to meet you! I love your flowers with the jewelry. So pretty. By the way, Silke makes incredible scarves...I know, because I am the proud owner of three! Oh my, wanted a house full of kids! After losing a few, I ended up with just two, but they sounded like a house full! My son has actually been away for two years in the army and Iraq, but he just got married. I am over the moon with his choice, yet the marriage of a child fully signals adulthood, sending a million flashbacks into my mind...an ending and a beginning, all the same.

  5. Thanks so much for stopping by today. Your flower jewelry is soooo pretty! I have not crocheted at all this year, crocheted up a storm for a little while last year, so maybe I'll get back to it in the fall. Right now there is so much to do outside.
    I'm not blogging quite as much since by the time I get inside for the night after everything outside, cooking, cleaning up, etc. I could very easily fall asleep at the keyboard!! However, when someone new stops by I try to pay a visit too. I'll be checking back soon, but now it's time to shut down for the night.
    Have a wonderful rest of the week!
