Sometimes I'm SO Dumb!...Or Is It Just Absent-mindedness?!

No, my dumbness didn't have anything to do with my sweet flower necklace that's in my header photo. :-) I just wanted to show you the 4 new things I spent my well-rested time on yesterday....BEFORE I tell you about my dumbness!! LOL I'm trying to distract you!
   These were the other 3:
All 4 of them were ones I made a while ago. I just hadn't listed them in my Wuglyees Etsy shop. Well, now they're in there! If you're interested, you can find them HERE. I've got a couple other things to list today too. The 2 scarves I recently finished. The basic black one and the purple chenille.
Okay, I've distracted you enough now I think! ^_^ Well, as you know, I was really rested yesterday because of FINALLY sleeping through the night the night before. {Not true last night!...Just saying! Grrrr!} So, I was going, going, going all day! Then...last night I think I kinda hit a wall. Maybe it was sitting still during the meeting we had. (It was switched to Monday night instead of Thursday because of another event the Hall will be used for.)
Anyway, Hubby and I were in a deep discussion and my alarm went off to take my blood pressure medication. I actually take 2. One I take only once a day, the other...the one the alarm went off for...I take twice a day, in the morning and at night.
Well, I was still yakking (talking) away. About 40 minutes later hubby said: "Did you take your pill?!" I said: "Oh! No!" And while I continued expounding on our conversation I reached for my pill and some water and took it!....Then the brain kicked in and said: "Hold up!!! That was not your nighttime pill!!! You just took your once a day pill...AGAIN!!!" UGH!
Hubby just looked at me and shook his head because this absent-mindedness....Yeah! That's what I call it!! LOL...is starting to become a regular feature in our household. If it's not bells now having to go off for me to take pills, it's phones ringing with people having to remind me 50 million times about something I have to do...or have forgotten to do!! UGH!! Every since the incident back last year, when I had my unfortunate week long stay in the hospital, I've been on these medications. I blame my absent-mindeness on THEM!!! LOL
I was the type of girl that only took a fist full of vitamins and supplements, never had any issues with my blood pressure, being on time, or anything else of substance. Now...I can see that I'm losing my "pulled together" grip a little bit, and I'm not liking it! I'm not liking it one little bit!! Wait...did I say that twice?! LOL
I even forgot until this morning that I never posted the pictures for the new Giveaway!! UGH! So, here goes...
It's a crochet wire and beaded necklace that I did myself! I crocheted the dangle, strung the beads and crystals, added the bail and so forth...
...I even put some love in it....and on it!
As you can see from all of the different ways I had to light it, and photograph it, regular jewelry is not my forte! :-) Give me some yarn or thread to photograph...and I'm good! I couldn't get a good shot of this necklace to save my life!!! Oh well, I hope you can at least get an idea of what it looks like. It'll belong to one of you commenters/followers!! :-)
I've been putting names in the box every since December 15th. My absent-mindedness hasn't affected that! {The rules for the Giveaway, which will be on January 1, 2011, can be found HERE!}Even hubby asks every day: "How many names went in the box today?" I think I do it so regularly that it's stuck in the brain now! :-) Now if I can just get the fact that I HAVE TO take these confounded blood pressure pills in my head I'll be alright! ^_^ I think I'm still in denial about it.
To finish the story, hubby called the all night pharmacy last night to tell them what I had done and ask what I should do....because now I had an extra wrong pill in my system, and I still hadn't taken my other right pill! WHEW! The pharmacist said to skip the nighttime right pill and take it on the regular schedule tomorrow. And not to worry about the other pill I took. He said it would lower my blood pressure slightly during the night, but I should be okay.
And considering the fact that I'm sitting here typing to tell you about it....ALIVE!....I guess he was right! ^_^ I can be so dumb sometimes!!!

 My Brain, My Brain

My brain just does
what it wants and when it wants!
Some days, all of it's positives
is what it flips and flaunts.

It triggers really fast,
and all my brain cells start to meet.
It stores all kinds of things,
and it runs long, without feet!

It fires happiness,
is organized, remembers well.
But then that "Bing!" will come
as if someone just hit a bell.

It slows and starts to ponder.
And what it ponders is not good!
Those days it might as well
be just a solid block of wood.

Can't remember what to do,
or if it already did;
Thoughts are scattered everywhere
and all my memories are hid.

Yes, my brain just does
what it wants and how it wants!
My job is staying with it,
and responding when it taunts.

  1. This is scary!! You're starting to sound just like me!! It's frightening getting older and taking meds for everything! That is if we can remember to take them! LOL
Take care my friend! Catch up to you later! I only got 5 hours of sleep last night, so I feel your pain.

  8. Deb, I know you told me once that you worked in the health care service. I think that those of us who actually work or worked as a health care provider find it hard to accept that we are now on the other end. Naughty you!!.....LOL.... You know that you need to take those meds if you want to be around for a while longer. OK enough of the scolding.....LOL... Try taking the pictures of your beautiful necklaces on your lovely headless model. Have a wonderful day!!!! I'm off to make tamales.

  10. SnowflakeDreams1, You're absolutely right Velma!! UGH! I'm suppose to be taking care of someone else now, not getting taken care of and watched because I might take the wrong pill!!! Oh well, at least my mind is still working for words!...It is still working, right?! I'm not talking to myself, am I?! ^_^ ... And thanks for the suggestion about putting the necklace on "Tina"! I'll try that...if we keep good enough weather. We have snow coming, I think!...Good weather for tamales...Why am i thinking about tamales?! ^_^

  11. No you are not talking to your self. There are people who hear well read you here. We are covered in snow here so I'm staying inside and doing all kinds of cooking and baking. I have no idea why your thinking about Tamales but I'm up to my elbows in them. LOL

  13. It seems like you aren't the only one who has a scatterbrain at times. There are three of us in our house that forget to take medication. I'm thinking we need to set up some sort of automatic text message system to send us reminders.

I'm glad that your hubby was able to check with the pharmacist & everything turned out okay.

  14. Jo-anne, You just helped me not to feel so bad! :)) Glad I'm not alone...And the automatic text message thing sounds like a good idea!! I have a text message alarm, but I have to re-set it every night. Kinda defeats the purpose! ^_^
