New York, New York!!!...Bicarbonate Please!

                                          (irenesuchocki)
New York was a blast last night y'all!! We had such a good time! :-) So much so that I thought that, since you all were so kind and encouraging yesterday about our 'Virtual' date, I'd share it with you this time!
             (mikeklement)
When we're heading into the city, it's always a beautiful sight to see the skyline and the bridges. It just beckons to you and says: "Welcome! Let me take your coat!"...And maybe we should have worn a coat, or at least a scarf, because despite the sweltering heat during the day here in Massachusetts, there was a slight chill in the night air in New York last night. I'll have to remember to take a scarf next time.
Anyway!...We decided to take the subway around the city once we got there.
           (rebeccaplotnick)
It was so empty, unusually so. But we didn't care. We had our little 'old school  boom box' tape player with us, and it was playing, A to Z, nothing but New York songs. We were holding hands and giggling like school kids. :-]
There was an excitement in the air. Exciting that we could finally get away after a particularly busy and eventful week.
           (DeborahJulian)
First stop, of course, was to the good eating places! And what do you eat when you're in New York?!....Pizza!...
The kind of good tasting pizza that makes you feel like you're at home in your PJs, sprawled across your bed, with a bib cloth.....but...
...you're not!! You're 'actually' in New York City, grabbing a couple of slices of delicious Pizza Pie with your baby! ^_^
And then we needed to go for a walk...to work some of that 'goodness' off! LOL
         (TMutzCreates)
We ended up in a really pretty section of the city. Perry Street, in the West Village. The brownstone houses were gorgeous!
       (VitaNostra)
I especially loved the wrought iron fences.
       (Raceytay)
Then we decided to head downtown and maybe catch the Broadway play, The Lion King. We saw it was still playing!!
       (ColorWorkStudio)
Such a wonderful night out in the city!! :-) And the city can really show it's spark and polish at night, you know!!
        (JBWPhoto)
As you might imagine, we were getting a little tired by now. We needed to get back on the subway and head to the car to go home. But I just had to stop at a little fish and chip place...to get some energy food for the trip back home! ^_^
        ......Ummmmmmm POTATOES!!!!! ^_^
Yep! Now I'm ready!!!! LOL So, it was back on the subway....
        (rebeccaplotnick)
It was still very empty. So much so that we stopped the music for a few minutes so that hubby could tell me the story about one time when him and his cousin were riding the subway at night, and an old bald headed Isaac Hayes looking gentleman started harassing people because he thought they were Russian spies!! Ha! Ha!...True story!! You never know what kind of story you're gonna get when you go into the city!! ^_^
When we got back home, hubby gave me the card he had bought for me before we left.....
I'll even show you what he wrote inside....
Awwwwwwwww! :-] And yes, your Poetesswug is 'The Wug' and his nickname...one of them!...is Squeaky. And STOP LAUGHING too!!! LOL
After eating some of my other gift he gave me....
....Another good 'Date Night' accomplished!! ^_^ I love you Squeaky. See you next Friday!!
Okay, enough of the mushy stuff...for now. ^_^ I have to tell you what the next Giveaway is!! It's one of my Wuglyee Scarves!
After I eat a little of the breakfast hubby is handing me, and take some bicarbonate for my gurgling stomach...(fish and chips, pizza, and sausage and pancakes may be just a little too much fun for this Wug!! LOL)...I'll put the rest of the photos of the scarf, and the info about it, up on the link HERE.
Have a good rest of the weekend everybody!!

Going Out With My Baby

Going out with my baby.
Or going nowhere, but it's alright.
Playing games and constant laughing.
I think it's gonna be a great 'Date Night'!

Going out with my baby.
Or staying in, and hugging tight.
Eating all the things we shouldn't.
But smiling through every single bite!

Going out with my baby.
And visiting 'virtually' every sight.
All dressed up or in our jammies,
We're having fun. You know that's right!!

  7. Ok so I missed the previous post and thought you really went to NYC! lol And I was like wow, that must have been some drive to get there and back from MA in one evening! lol but now I am all caught up! And being a NY'er I can say of course that you couldn't have picked a better place! ;)

Hubby and I have a date night every friday which is always pizza night! And is typically followed by ice cream! And when we are feeling really adventurous we have hopped in the car and headed to the city which is only a 45 minute ride from our house, to get pizza. NYC has the best pizza!

There is just nothing like NYC at night! :)

  17. What a lovely date night you had. I think NY was the perfect place to visit. It looks wonderful. And that food yum! The fish & chips certainly looked nice.

  18. Jo-anne, Thanks! Yes...it was fun. :-) I paid for the fish and chips today though. My tummy was gurgling most of the day! LOL At least I'll have another week for it to calm down!! ^_^

  19. So much fun! I love NY..only been there once, but it was one of my fav places to see. Thanks for letting us come along on your date! (thank "Squeaky" too) Here I thought my home town (Chicago) was the place for pizza..you have to go there and compare. My date night was moving rocks with hubby..like a couple of criminals on the rock pile. Not very romantic..or fun..and very sweaty..well, never mind, I'll live vicariously through you!

  20. Thank you so much for including my Times Square in Daylight photo to your great blog! What a wonderful idea...a virtual date night anywhere you want to go:) And that NYC pizza..thin crust, usually a bit burnt on the bottom...love it! Hope to go back soon. Thanks again:)

  21. yaya, We're happy to have brought you along on our date! :-) And I agree about New York too...Maybe we'll go to Chicago one of these 'Date Nights'! ^_^ I know hubby and I would love catching a game or two...or three! {Chicago Cubs, Bulls, Bears, White Sox and Black Hawks! ^_^} And one of our favorite Pizza places here in Massachusetts is Uno's. And they have Chicago pan pizza!! :-) It's the best!!...By the way, if you and your hubby were together...no matter what you were doing, or how sweaty you were,...it might 'technically' still be able to be considered a 'Date'!! ^_^

  22. Keri, It was entirely my pleasure to be able to share your wonderful work! I wish I could afford to buy you out so I could wallpaper New York all over the room!! ^_^ Wouldn't that be cool?!...And the burnt on the bottom pizza pie, while a big draw for New Yorkers, is not my favorite. Hubby loves it though. I like my pizza a bit more substantial, and the crust more tasty...Thankfully they've got enough eating establishments...of every kind!...to keep anybody busy for the rest of their life!! LOL
