Chocolate Nut Brownie.......On A Rainy Day

Before I get into today's post, let me remind you that this coming Monday will be the drawing for the pocketbook in my recent Giveaway. You can check HERE for details on how to enter.....
Now, on to today's post...I've been working feverishly on my Chocolate Nut Brownie Shawl/Scarf.
It's coming along, but it was missing something...Color! And since I have a tendency to put colors together that no one else in the world would put in point, exhibit A... FUN-tastic Wuglyee Remnant Scarf! (The campaign to sell it is still on-going!! ^_^)...I thought that maybe I'd put another color on the shawl, but a color not so..."POW" your face!
And since my inspiration for the shawl is an actual chocolate nut brownie, I had to pick a color that would 'gel' with the feel of the inspiration...So, because I was crocheting this chocolate nut brownie shawl/scarf on a rainy day, say hello to the inspiration for a rainy day color to add to it....
It's gray...for a gray rainy day! :-) ...... And Chocolate Nut Brownies on a gray rainy day, with milk (that's represented by the white ^_^), are the stuff that make rainy days worth having......and worth crocheting a shawl/scarf for! :-) I know it's a 'stretch' just to have some inspiration, but hey! It was raining!!!! What did you want me to do?! Crochet a blanket inspired by 'gloominess' and 'darkness'?!!......Not this time. But hmmmm...... ^_^
I'm still working on it, and still trying to decide whether I'm going to keep it as just a shawl, or if I'm going to add buttons or something...I was gonna put one row of maroon on the other side, next to the edge. But I thought better of it...Besides, there's no way to work that maroon into my inspiration theme....unless I shed some blood trying to make it! LOL Don't worry!...I'm not that clumsy...or that desperate for inspiration!! ^_^
As you see, I have some more work to do with it. I'll show it to you when it's all done.....In the meantime, I've got some travel plans to make. Friday 'Date Night' is coming up pretty fast, and we've got a looooong way to travel this week!
Over the last few weeks we've traveled from Paris France to Brazil. This week we'll be going all the way to Africa!!
......I think we're gonna be some happy.....but tired travelers this week!! :-)
I'm  looking forward to getting educated about Ghana though...and seeing, tasting, and hearing some of the country's food and music! :-] Hubby is too!
I know it's been a rough week for a lot of people. The news has been really tough! So, come and take a 'virtual' trip with us to Ghana tomorrow. Can't hurt!!

News of war and near disasters,
Lots of folks who are to blame;
A world that's ever slightly shifting,
and yet still remains the same.

You can turn off your T.V.,
Unplug your phone. No one would care.
But soon you'll need to be connected,
and the news will still be there!

We have to streamline all our focus,
no matter what we use,
and keep our minds on what's important.
Now, Baby, that's some news!

  1. I'm lovin' the look of your new scarf/shawl!

  2. Love the colours in this brown range, so pretty! I love my green scarf so much thanks Deb :) Your orange/red scarf is cute can't believe it won't sell!

    Bee happy x
    Have a delicious day!

    Enter me!

  3. Pammy Sue, Thank you!!! :-)

  4. Bee Happy, Thank you very much!...And YAY!! You got the green one already! Have fun with it...and keep warm when you have to! LOL...You're entered again for the pocketbook now! :-]

  5. Great poem! I made the mistake of watching the video of the person in the riots being robbed after some people appeared to be helping him. I decided to not watch the news for a few days. It was very upsetting and after that you just need a bit of a break. I'm sure the news will be waiting for me when I return.

That shawl is so chocolate and the white in it could be whipped cream or marshmallows or...your shawl is making me hungry!

Looking forward to reading about your virtual exploits in Ghana!

    Take care

  6. Lisa, Thank you so much about the poem. Unfortunately, the news these days can almost make you a little crazy if you watch it too long and put too much stock in everything they're reporting. That's why I'm thankful for other things to do!! You're right. It'll be right there waiting for you whenever you catch your breath and want to look at some more of it! :-] And yeah, yeah, yeah....marshmallows and whipped cream!! Good substitutes for inspiration!! :-) ...See you, 'virtually', all 'up in Ghana's grill', tomorrow!! ^_^

  7. It looks delicious! I can't wait to see the end product!
I'm at a quick build this weekend, so don't worry if you don't see me much! :)

  8. You know, I really like those rainy day chocolate brownie colors. And there's nothing better than a brownie on a rainy day... I hope you are doing wonderfully!! Hugs, Silke

  9. I love the brown colors you've pretty! Have a wonderful weekend..this month is just flying by!

  10. Lovely scarf!
    Nice colors.

  11. CinLynn, ^_^ Thank you Bead. I did finish it too!...Oooo! A quick build!! Is it near your area or somewhere else?! Looks like we both have a good weekend planned. I'm going to Ghana tonight, and then our Congregation is responsible for the drama at the Convention on Sunday!! :-) I can't wait!...Have a good time!!

  12. Silke, Thank you! And, of course, I agree!! ^_^ I finished making it yesterday and had to photograph it. Not as much fun as actually eating a chocolate nut brownie! LOL...Have a good weekend! :-)

  13. yaya, Thanks! I'm glad I'm not the only one that likes the colors. :-) And you are 'so' right about the month flying by!! PHEW! I heard on the news today that the 10th anniversary of 9/11 is coming up next month. I was shocked that it's been that long!! So, not only months, but 'years' are flying by too! Let's slow it down and at least enjoy the weekend, okay. :-]

  14. S and O (Sarah), Thank you so much!..And Welcome to the backyard too! :-)

  15. I really love the colours of the remnant scarf. They go together beautifully.

  16. Alittlesprite, Thanks! I usually like more vivid colors, but it's growing on me too!...You're entered.
