Sometimes Wise.........Sometimes Needing Wisdom!

During my unfortunate 'mental incarceration' of sorts...(in other words...the period of time that I was sick and coughing like a fool and the only thing that was capable of moving was my locked up brain cells! ^_^)...I spent a lot of time thinking about what I was gonna do to try to make my shop more presentable.
I finally came up with what I thought was a wise decision...stop trying to make people like your plain flower brooches! Either give them a new flair, or get them out of the shop!...I decided that as soon as I was feeling better I would deactivate the little non-sellers, make keychains out of all of them...{something all people use!}...re-photograph them, and sell them as keychains instead!
Then I went over to the shop yesterday and there was a message from a customer telling me that she was gonna buy a few of them. She was giving me a 'heads up'. ^_^ Sure enough, a few minutes later, she bought four of my little brooches!! :-) Two of the frilly ones, and two of the thread ones! WOW!...Now what do I do?! O_O Proceed with the keychains or leave them 'as is'?!...I'm all out of wisdom on  this one! :-/
So, what does a 'Wug' do when she's all out of creative business wisdom?...She peeps around at other creative business people for inspiration! :-] And she's never disappointed!

How cool is this (above)?!!...It's an antique distressed printer drawer that's been reinvented to be a jewelry display! ^_^ Now that's the kind of inspiration I need!
         And what about these things...

I love that you can turn each letter of the word 'family' and put a different set of scraps or photos on it!...

What about this clever little invention?!...

It's a padded book rest for your lap! :-] ...Pretty clever SewInventive!...And I love that it can have a whole lot of different uses...

If any of you are on your laptop right now, sitting in some kind of awkward position, think how comfortable you could be....reclining in your bed...with this little book rest/laptop holder cushion rest on your lap!! :-] ...It's inspired!

And speaking of books, look at this!...

         Is it a Russian-English book?!.....No it's not! It's a hollowed out silhouetted hand book....safe!...

Is that clever or what?!!! ^_^

This could be the perfect place for my 'valuable' 3-tier diamond necklace! :-) ...$65.00...store quality diamonds!! Grrrr!...I'm still mad at that gold and jewelry exchange guy for saying that 'stupidness'!!! LOL...Moving on!!

I still don't know if I should make my keychains or not, but I'm at least using my brain a little more actively! ^_^ ...Well, this might say otherwise (below)...

He doesn't appear to have been reinvented or practical...He's just cute!! ^_^ And I love him!....just like I love my crocheted flowers!...Sometimes it just is what it is!! ^_^

.....Wisdom!!! :-) ...Okay, I'm off to work on an order for two custom headbands...and some crocheted flowers to put on them! :-) Have a good day, Everybody!

 All The Things I Love

If I listed all the things I've loved
I could rattle on forever!
Whether by 'order of importance'
or by a poeticly quick endeavor.

Right now it's Tennis...Well, all sports,
and reading informative magazines.
And crocheting, food and music.
Well..that might be in my genes!

I've loved teaching and line dancing,
So many things in my short life.
But I've never jumped from a plane,
or wittled anything with a knife!

With every passing moon
I find some other thing that I love.
Whether grassy patterns on my lawn,
or phenomenal skies above.

Yes, if I listed all the things I loved
my words could fill all space,
It comes from curiosity,
and an Ooo-ing Awww-ing place!

  1. What a wonderful surprise...thank you for featuring my Family Scrapbook on your blog today!

As for your flowers...I say do both :) Leave a few in the shop as is and introduce a "new line" of keychains!

  2. I agree with memories... Do both!! I was thinking how cute your brooches would be as boutonnieres for blouses, coats, little girl sundresses, etc. With the back button, they can be added to any button hole!! I've been thinking about that a lot the last few days! Those cute little sundresses that little girls wear with the button straps. How cute to put one of those on one of the straps!!
Just my opinion, which really doesn't mean much. LOL

I absolutely LOVE that book support!! What a great idea!! Thanks for showing that one.

And congrats on the sales!! You are on a roll and I sure hope it continues for you too!!

Have a great Friday and weekend too! :)

    1. Thanks for the feedback, Bead!! The two of you have convinced me to do both! And what a great idea to have the flower boutonnieres for ladies and men! I thought about making them for women's blouses and belts before, but I wasn't sure how good of an idea it was for real life...not just in my head! LOL I'll work on that too though now! Thank you!...Hopefully I'll be able to get some of these into a craft show this summer. I need to get on with it already! Hubby's out of work!! ^_^

    1. Hi Dee! Yes, I love that book rest too! I have my own double duty set up that I use to set my laptop on. I'll have to blog about that one of these days! ^_^ ...Now, did you mean that I should make some kind of crocheted keychain that's "not" a flower?!.....What?!...I'm love some suggestions! :-) My keychains are crocheted flowers with key rings on them!...I hope you're enjoying sunshine today, and everybody is healthy! :-]

I am honored to be with all you fine creators here in our own little chosen blog spots. To be picked from the 1000's of other great creations feels like queen for the day. Did you notice that every week now Randy the judge on American idol had some kind of brooch on his jacket? Wuglyee he needs one of your crochet flower brooches.
I believe in the recycling of our crafts. If they are not suitable as one thing maybe they would be like you say turned into something else like a key chain. After all ideas are used up then put them on the chopping block:)
