My 'Lesson Of Life' For The Day!

It's pouring rain this morning here in Massachusetts, and just sitting here watching the hummingbirds flit and fly back and forth despite getting hit in the face and wing by drops big enough to knock them out,  got me to thinking...about life...and lessons I can learn.
The main lesson of life I've learned is 'It Is What It Is'!...In other words, you can 'wish' things were a certain kind of way, and pretend your way through it, but in the end there are just some things that will not be changed!...like New England weather. ^_^
But my lesson of life for today is 'Just Keep Swimming'!...When the weather is 100% humid one day, and pouring from the sky like someone was dumping buckets from the trees the next......and making a swimming pool in your backyard, I might add!...

When family members behave badly and seem to be tossing muck and mire up from the sea of bad decisions...and your feet are almost getting tangled in their strangling undertow.....

When your bills are piling up, and it feels like wave after wave after wave is heating you in the face, but the shore seems so far into the distance...

When you feel like your life could almost be considered an island because you're surrounded by imposing waters, and feel like you're all alone and nobody cares...jump into the surf and ...

Eventually you'll get to 'love' land, get thrown a lifeline of compassion, be dragged up over the side and into a sheltered boat, or learn how to dog paddle really really good! So...

And that's my lesson for the day. Read into it whatever you like. And so will I!! ^_^ Hmmm...those hummingbirds sure are getting drowned! LOL...Have a good day, Everybody!

 Balance

You teeter totter, in the middle,
Lean a little, OOPS! You're off!
Now you know that you're not balanced,
and you hope the ground is soft.

It's not easy to achieve,
and once you have it, to maintain.
In almost every part of life
our balance is so hard to gain.

You have to balance your emotions,
how you eat, and how you spend.
And when you're balancing your checkbook,
try to keep a level grin.

Staying somewhere in the middle
takes a conscious, careful touch,
because it doesn't take a lot
to go from balanced to 'too much'!

So try to keep a balanced eye,
a balanced plate, and balanced life.
Keep your feelings all in check,
and minimize the stress and strife.

And don't compare your sense of balance
 to your neighbor's...you're alone.
Because your neighbor's also trying
to get some balance of his own!
