It's NOT A Post About Christmas! :-)

Sorry I couldn't get a better photo for you. But even if I did, you don't have 'smell-o-puter' or 'taste-o-puter'...so you still wouldn't get the full effect anyway!! ^_^ They're peanut butter almond chocolate kiss cookies....YUM!!

They weren't made by my hubby either. :-] I know!!....Surprise, right?...with all of his cooking lately!

Nope! They were given to us as a gift! :-) ... Oh how I love a good tasting gift that's given to you.....JUST BECAUSE!! :-) ... Note To Self: Crochet 'her' a gift! :-]

     The peanut butter almond chocolate kiss cookies took precedence on the blog today because I didn't want to treat you like a captured audience and regale you with the long story of why I don't celebrate Christmas!...Besides just about every other blog post in my list today was stories about Christmas it seemed, in one way or another!...{I say "it seemed" because...sorry, but...I don't read the Christmas story blogs.  I'm waiting for the season to be over so that I can go back to seeing what everybody is doing and creating! ^_^}
And also...I've told you my non-celebrating story about Christmas before. ^_^ That doesn't mean that I wouldn't talk about it again if you wanted to hear it though! Do you have any questions?....Go ahead, ask me, ask me!! :-))
While I wait to get your questions....^_^...let me show you what I was working on all day yesterday!...a few wedding boutonnieres for my Wuglyees shop!! :-) ...This is a groom and best man set...

'Tangerine orange and pink love button boutonnieres' to be exact! :-)

I know!...You're probably saying...and with a furrowed brow and a stink face too!..."why those colors, Wug?!!" ^_^ Well, the reason is because I did a Google search to find out what the most popular wedding colors were this year,...I'll tell you why in a minute......and I ended up with a stink face and a furrowed brow too when I saw the list, and found out that tangerine orange and pink were number one!! O_O
And go figure...green and brown and green and blue weren't even on the list this year!!...What?!! O_O...Blush pink and pewter gray were number two, and blue willow and white were number three!...I didn't make those colors yet. The orange and pink distracted me!! ^_^ But I made these...

This is for the father of the bride...or whoever. ^_^

This one can be worn by a groom too...

And this lapel pin is for the little ring bearer...

Today I'm working on the three pink bridesmaids, and the three orange groomsman boutonnieres. I'll show you those later.

The reason I'm making them is because of a conversation I had with the representative of a new wedding website. I was contacted about a partnership with them...Long story short, it wasn't gonna work for me, so I turned down the opportunity. But I 'did' get encouraged from the comments she made about my boutonnieres and their potential in the wedding market! :-) So I decided to make some wedding style boutonnieres for my Wuglyees shop.
I'm gonna add a specific 'wedding' section for them, and offer individual boutonnieres and brooches, and some wedding packages, for brides, grooms, bridesmaids and groomsmen, flower girls and ring bearers, mothers of the bride, etc......I may even make larger flowers for the front of cake tables and things like that! :-)
I'll still be making my regular boutonnieres and lapel pins too though, so no worries! :-] I just need to update my shop to fit the times is all...In fact, I made this one yesterday too...

It's black, gray and off white...I'm on my way over to list it right now...even though even if somebody buys it, I can't ship it today or tomorrow. The post office isn't open! ^_^ ... See what Christmas does to my schedule?! :-) ... Whatever! More time for a nap!! ^_^

Okay, I'm off!...I apologize for posting so late today (for those of you that noticed! ^_^)...Life got in the way this morning, and the phone did too!!! ^_^ See you tomorrow! Have a good one, Yall!

Catching Up

I see life from my perspective.
And it's always a full cup.
I rarely see the glass half empty.
I don't let much interrupt.

But now I find this needs a change.
I have some catching up to do.
I have some things that need updating.
And some family bonds to glue.

Some things have lagged unmercifully.
They need some tweaking, not too much.
Just need to get back some perspective..
Get some family lines in touch.

This catching up will be wide ranging.
Out with the old, in with the new.
But when you're catching up with people,
there's still some old when you're all through.

Catching up sometimes is tiring.
Maybe that's why I've been waiting.
And, besides, when I'm all done,
there seems there's more that needs updating!

As Usual On A Sunday Morning......

As usual on a Sunday morning, I'm running on 'not much time'! I got up early and have been doing something with every minute since then...until now...*blink blink*...I don't have any time left! :-) So this morning I won't be waxing poetic, or telling you all about the different birds that have been coming to the feeder, or showing off my latest boutonnieres, or yapping on and on about anything really...And stop that clapping!!! LOL
Instead I'm gonna tell you to have a good day.......and be sure to do something great with your time today!...(like read your Bible, put something spiritual in the brain; love  up on your family; play with the grand-kids; crochet; etc.....You know...Good stuff! ^_^)...Also, don't forget to drink water,...and maybe a sip of tea or coffee too!...breathe every once in a while, uncurl your fist, find some time to giggle with a friend, listen with your 'good' ears, unfurl your brow when your spouse is talking to you, and be sure and get something to eat!...because, especially with that last thing...the 'unfurling your brow when your spouse is talking to you' thing...you're gonna need your energy to do all of this!!! ^_^

And as usual this morning, in case I didn't say it already, let me say.....Have A Nice Day, Everybody! :-)

Sunday Mornings

Sunday mornings are for quiet,
and for music in your ears.
Not for fretting over business,
or for struggle, or for tears.

Sunday mornings are for worship,
or for time to just relax.
Not for schedules that need keeping,
or for dealing with the 'Quacks'!

Sunday mornings are for slowness,
sipping on a cup of 'Joe';
Getting ready for the new week,
when you have to 'Go! Go! Go!'

Today Let's Talk Flowers, Butterflies, And Jewelry!

Yesterday the local news in our area was all about pouring rain, bank robberies, car-jackings, people's homes being burned to the ground, murder, and the possibility of a huge new casino in our area....O_O....It was a bit much to get hit with all in one day. And the world news wasn't much better with it's talk about gun control and fiscal cliffs! O_O
Rainbows and butterflies....RAINBOWS AND BUTTERFLIES!!!! That's what I'd rather be talking about! ^_^ Well...maybe not the rainbows part. That would mean that I also wanna talk about the rain! LOL So scratch rainbows...rainbows...and let's substitute jewelry! :-) Yeah!! Butterflies and jewelry!! :-)
The jewelry box in the header photo fits both categories. It's a jewelry box that has butterflies on it! :-) ... The Etsy shop where I saw this box was worth talking about today too, because they had all kinds of really cute jewelry boxes! They were so cute that they made me wanna look around to see what kind of jewelry I would put in them! ^_^ (All of the jewelry boxes in this post are from designhutusa. You can click on any of them to go and check out the full shop.)

They have nice wide sections where you can put necklaces. Maybe a necklace like this one (below) would fit in there...

      ...or maybe this one...

I'm attracted to how pretty the jewelry boxes are on top, but they also have a nice pillowy section for rings inside!...

The ring section could be great for this ring!...

      ....or for this one...

     And what if you're a man?!...Well, there's a jewelry box for you too! :-) ...Scratch that. Not a jewelry box...jewelry box...an accessories box! :-)) ...

And what can you put in your 'accessories box'?!...How about one of these!...

So there you are! No rainbows or bad weather talk at all! Just butterflies, jewelry, flowers and birds! :-)

Speaking of birds, the first suet block, the one my girlfriend gave me for the backyard birds, is GONE!! :-) The birds ate it completely up! And they were a joy to watch while they did it! :-)
Last night my hubby put a new suet pack in the cage, with a different food mixture in it...including berries!...and already this morning we have different birds visiting!! :-) They're small and large, colorful and black and white. I'm in love!! :-)
Now I have to get away from all of this talking and go and get some things done!! :-] But first I just need a little bit of quiet...*deep breath*...Have a good day, Everybody! :-) Happy Weekend!

 Sitting Quiet

I love just sitting quiet,
letting silence be my friend.
I'm not afraid to be alone,
and hear my breathing out and in.

With no T.V. on, or music,
just some thinking done, with me,
In a world where quiet reading
is now called "activity".

There's no reason to be scared,
or to need all kinds of noise,
to create some kind of chaos,
or to look for games and toys;

Just a quiet low lit room,
where I ponder my life course,
where I think of plans ahead,
but no thoughts I have to force.

Just me, still, and sitting quiet.
Nothing altering my mood.
No smoke waifting at my sinus,
no one mad or being rude.

Can you turn off all the gadgets?
Can you hear your ownself sigh?
If you cannot take the quiet,
You should stop and wonder why!

It's 'Virtually' The Weekend Already!

I LOVE this mug!! :-) ... Actually I love a whole lot of mugs and other pottery in JimAndGina's Etsy shop!...Not that they need me to advertise for them. They're doing just great without me! ^_^
But I saw this rooster mug and I said to myself: "Okay Wug, it's time!...Time to yell at those muscles and joints of yours and tell them to 'GET UP!' " :-) And, Oh Yeah, they needed yelling at this morning, because it's raining cats and dogs and ♫ ouch...ouch...ouch...ouch...ouch...OUCH!!!
It's gonna be a long morning...a long afternoon...and a long 'virtual' date night! O_O ..But we've already decided, because of my pulled chest and back muscle, that it's gonna be a sitting and sipping 'virtual' date night!! :-]
We may be sitting and sipping in the desert...

...or sitting and sipping in the deep forest somewhere!...

...but wherever it is, it's gonna be a non-moving event! :-)

Now, while I share some more of JimAndGina's pottery below, I'll give you a couple of updates about what's going on with us personally...starting with my mother-and-father-in-law...Ugh!...My father-in-law may end up having to go home from the facility he's in soon...which would be great if there was a way to get him some 'real' help in-home. But with only my mother-in-law there to help him, it could be a potential disaster! O_O
Unfortunately, there's some question as to his health coverage right now, and the bills have mounted up to a ridiculous amount! Rightly so, the facility wants to get paid! O_O But it's like being between a rock and a hard place as to what to do!...The siblings are trying to work on getting his coverage figured out and keeping him there, but who knows what's gonna happen! O_O

Thankfully I have my backyard birds...eating and chirping away all day long now...to keep my mind off of my in-laws situation...somewhat. I mean, when there's nothing you can do, except try to keep a positive mindset, watching birds is a perfect 'nothing' thing to do! :-)

In other news, the 'fiscal cliff' is about to get us too! O_O Hubby's unemployment compensation is gonna end unless they pass the bill that's in congress right now. We only have a couple more payments before the end of the year that we can count on, and then it's 'Come On Boutonniere Buyers...PLEASE!!!!!' LOL
We're trying not to worry about it too much. Jehovah God has always kept his eye on us in the past, so there's no need to worry now, right?! Something will work out, we're sure!... In the meantime, we're doing our thing as-per-usual! ^_^

In yet other GOOD news, I sold two more boutonnieres last night..and they won the free scarf that I giveaway with every 25th item sold. They bought number 375 and chose this free scarf...

The next Giveaway winner will be whoever buys my 400th item! :-)

I was planning to take photos of some of the scarves that I need to list, and go ahead and put them online in my Wuglyees shop today....but Mister 'Rain-All-The-Time!' has put a kink in that plan! ^_^ So I guess it'll be me and 'my' Mister..."Hi, Honey!"...and a sitting and sipping old movie or something...or the desert...or the forest...or a crochet hook or...whatever!...today! :-))

Okay, I'm off to do some wrapping and shipping...and enduring of some rain...*sigh*...Sooooo..when is Spring gonna be here again?!....*Achoo!*....Never mind! LOL

 Regretless Travel

Do I regret the lack of travel,
staying home and going nowhere?
To do so would be depressing.
So I don't! I don't even care!

I've had my days and weeks of 'going'.
And if the hips get better, who knows!
In the future I could wander off
and travel where the trade wind blows.

I've traveled a lot in my life.
Enough to now have no regrets.
It was easy for just the two of us,
with good health, no kids, no pets.

We've seen sunny skies and rainbows.
Oh! The waterfalls and sculptures we've viewed!
We've danced our way through places,
and cooked and tasted all their food.

We've seen shows and met all kinds of people,
in our car, on a plane, and a bus.
So if we never go one more place
It'll be totally alright with us!

Is This The Price Of A Clean House?!

OUCH!...I'm in pain!... O_O ... Before I tell you what happened, let me 'fess up' and say that my pain is not because "I" personally cleaned the house yesterday. It wasn't cleaned by me! It was cleaned by the lady that comes and does it for me! But, Yes, I 'AM' still in a lot of pain today! O_O...I'm in pain because I must've pulled a muscle...or SOMETHING while I was sneezing and blowing my nose from the dust that was fluffed up while the house was being cleaned!...*shaking my head*...Is that sad or what?!!! ^_^
And no! It hadn't been that long since the last cleaning. About two weeks. So there wasn't an inordinate amount of dust or anything!...except for the huge bunny that came off of the top of the curtain....*ACHOO!*...That's what I get for trying to have a fancy fold up there! LOL
Anyway!...I was 'hacking and barking and dripping away while she was cleaning. Then she left and the 'hacking and barking' subsided. But a little while after that I got this awful feeling like I was catching the flu or something! O_O ...Ugh!...Next thing I know, I lifted my arm to move my hair or fan a gray hair out of my face, or something trivial...and BAM!!! O_O I heard a kind of POP!...and then searing pain went throughout my upper back and later radiated to my chest area....OUCH!...Yeah, something gave way! O_O

 (Tote Bag from corduroy)

So ever since then I've been not moving very much... O_O...except for my typing fingers right now!....But....the house smells sooooo clean! :-] ...

Just thinking about how I'm gonna get anything done today is hurting me! O_O But hopefully, if I'm a good girl and don't try to do too much too soon, the pain will get less and less as the day goes on. It's already better than it was yesterday!...Stupid pulled muscle!! Grrr!

Before I leave though, I'm gonna show you the three items I was gonna wax poetic about...before I knew I'd be in this kind of pain!...Did I already say: OUCH?! O_O ...

1. The cutest Ring Bearer Keepsake Box you've ever seen! :-) ...

2. The cutest Upcycled Beachy Hobo Bag you've ever seen! :-) ...

3. The cutest Print of an Original Painting you've ever seen! :-) ...

Okay, I'm off to....to....to do NOTHING!!! ^_^ Have a good day, Everybody! 'Pain Free', I hope!!

Never As Expected

Why can't things go as expected?
No left turn. No oops!...'Snaffu'!
There's always got to be a fly
in the ointment, soup or stew!

Why can't things go as they should,
Without a hitch, impending doom?
Instead of 'Steady as she goes'!
There's always Click, click, click! Then BOOM!!

Can I Get A 'Whoop! Whoop!' For Being Home With Hubby!

As a general rule I love being home anyway!...but after yesterday, being home with hubby...talking, joking, singing (sorta LOL), and well, SORTA dancing... ^_^ ...I totally understand that expression: "Home Sweet Home". :-) It was a good day!
We don't celebrate Christmas, so all of the Christmas music, commercials, lights, crowds and talk everywhere has been inundating this year! Not that we wanna impose our views on other people, but WOW! Has it been more...MORE...this year? Or does it just feel like that to us?! O_O
Anyway!...I've been at home, but hubby has been avoiding grocery stores, malls, gas stations (unless absolutely necessary!), banks, convenience stores, etc....Anywhere that lines and crowds and frustrated buyers might be!...In other words, he's staying at...

 (SkyeArt)

    ...HOME more too! :-)

And I have to say...it hasn't been a bad thing! :-) He's been engaging, funny, entertaining, conversational and quite a lot of company! :-] He's been cooking like crazy...including the best breakfasts I've ever had!,...Helping me out with my Wuglyees orders (Oh, if only I could teach him to crochet!....NOT happening! ^_^)...and singing!...Thank YOU "The Voice"!!! ^_^ ...Okay, let's me 'real'..I could do without the singing! LOL But if I have to get the singing in order to have everything else...'Hello Ear Plugs!'.."Go ahead, Baby! Sing your heart out!!" ^_^ I think he's gearing up right now to do his rendition of the leftover lemon squares song! LOL

I haven't mentioned it lately.....Skip ahead, all of you who don't like 'mush'! ^_^...I LOVE my husband!!! And the more time we spend together, the more I know that he was one of my better decisions in this life...even though when I'm mad at him I'd never admit it!! LOL (Even then I know it then too. :-])
He did something yesterday that solidified my 'liking him'...I would've loved him anyway! :-) ... He braved the crowds, the traffic, the frustrated and angry shoppers, the gas lines and the fact that he doesn't like to drive on long trips in the car alone, and went almost an hour away to the only 'Red Lobster' restaurant in our area anymore...just to get me shrimp and fish and garlic biscuits!...by surprise!!!!! :-)
      When I asked him why..he said: 'Because you're special'. ;'_'; ...Yep! I started crying like a baby!! ^_^ ...And then I started tasting!!...YUM!!!! I hadn't had 'Red Lobster' in a LONG time!!!...And you know what's for breakfast?!.....Leftovers!!! ^_^
No, I don't love my husband because he gives me nice gifts and sings to me!....but it sure doesn't hurt!! :-) ... He makes staying at home have a whole other meaning. After 30 years of marriage, and almost 35 years together, how many wives can honestly say they feel that way?! :-) ... Yeah, I may have a different story tomorrow! But today....I don't!!...Today he's my super hero!! :-)) ...Whoop! Whoop! Hubby!!!! I love you!

 My Super-Hero

He has x-ray vision,
but he`s as blind as a bat.
He sees straight to my heart,
but cannot see my fat.

He`s as strong as an ox,
but as gentle as can be.
He`s sexy in his shorts,
and in a suit-a sight to see!

He's my super-hero,
even though he can't  fly;
He doesn't drive a Bat-Mobile,
or freeze time with his eye.

But the things that he can do
far outweigh the things he can`t;
and they give the word "Super-Hero"
a whole new slant!
