Even if it wasn't Friday in Massachusetts, I'd be looking for a virtual shuttle, bus, train, boat, airplane, or rickety scooter outta here!!... ^_^ ...because we've got tons of cold...and frozen!...snow still on the ground, and the temperatures are in the single digits this morning! O_O ... Can you say 'Where's The Heat?!!' ^_^ 

       But it 'is' Friday! :-) ... and all of the above is still true!! LOL I'm online checking flights...Costa Rica...hmmmm...74 degrees...Not hot enough!! :-) ... Oh well...I'll figure out something!...There can't be snow everywhere, can there?!!

Maybe the tea will help!...I didn't sleep well last night, and my body parts don't wanna get that joint movement thing going just yet for some reason! Ugh!...As long as it warms up in time for my date, I'm good! ^_^ Nobody wants to see a cranky childless granny-type Wug girl sauntering through a virtual airport, singing old 'Hee Haw' songs about gloom and despair! LOL

     Anyway!! ^_^ It's DATE DAY!!!!! :-) All else does not matter....today! ^_^ Have a good date yourselves....or a good Friday...or a great weekend!!...whichever comes first for you! ^_^ ♥

Virtual trip

I really like to travel,
See the world, expand my mind.
But not getting on an airplane,
or hunting luggage I can't find!

I like a 'good ole' virtual trip.
Computer details. Music too.
Where you don't need a 'stinking' passport,
or have to wear a 'stinking' shoe!

But a little stay at home,
under covers, lock and key,
can also be expansive.
Even if it's 'virtually'.

Veni, Vidi, Vici.........Sorta!

      If you don't know the quote, Veni, Vidi, Vici, let me translate. It literally means: "I came, I saw, I conquered"......I decided to apply it to storm Nika! ^_^ 'It came.....I saw it!.....but it WILL NOT conquer!! LOL

         The Header photo is what the backyard looked like just as the sun rose this morning....Pretty, right?! :-) But what you can't see...because I'm not going out there to get the cold, wet, frozen photos. NO!!!...is that we got about 10 inches of 'the white stuff'!!...Not the most we've ever gotten, but...trust me!...it's enough!! ^_^

        During the day yesterday, as the snow was falling fast and furious, it looked so peaceful...calm....almost 'Disney cartoon movie' like!...especially with the birds flitting between the snowflakes on occasion. ^_^

     

     Then, later in the day, a trench needed to be plowed!! O_O ...
 

     This morning...the trench is still there...but with some snow in the bottom of it! LOL...

      Hubby is outside shoveling...and helping other neighbors to shovel. He's gonna need a big hug and a kiss, hot apple cider, and a nice warm bath too maybe, when he gets back in here!...And he may also need some quiet time, so that he can thaw out in private! LOL I'm gonna talk 'YOUR' heads off...so that I can be 'tick-a-lock' lip girl for him when he comes back in. ^_^ ....................... Yeah....right!! ^_^

     I never saw a word I didn't wanna manipulate! LOL I come....I see it.....I conquer!!! LOL

Snow TRAPPED!

TRAPPED! Another snow storm!
Will this "STUFF" never end?!
We've be wolloped, punched, and socked,
and now?! Another one on the chin!

'Adding insult to the injury',
there will be an inch of ice!
I guess winter thought we needed
just a little 'SCARY' spice!

Do I sound bitter? Sick of it?
About to lose my snowed-in mind?!
Well, that would be correct!
That is, the brain cells I can find!

TRAPPED! Sick of snow,
and it's icicles everywhere!
Good thing I have crochet!
It will replace my pulled out hair!

YIKES!...I Think We're 'In For It' This Time!!!

     Have you heard?!...We're having a snow storm!! O_O I can tell it's really gonna be a 'doozie' too, because it started this morning around 4:30 a.m. ... about 4 hours ago ... and we already have about 6 inches of snow on the ground!! O_O

     It's coming down so fast...and heavy! O_O I guess it's a good thing I have lots of videos 'at the ready', and lots of talking and crocheting to do! ^_^ ... (I'm working on some black boutonnieres and tiny lapel pins today).

     Imagine how much fun I'm gonna have watching the suet feeder...which is full now!...as birds come-a-running in the snow!.....But...uhhhh...so far..uhhhh...not a one has shown up!! LOL I guess they're out there flying through the mall, going from store to store like the rest of the people, buying window wiper fluid, snow blowers, shovels, de-icer, and snow tires! ^_^

     In the meantime, hubby is catching up on laundry, planning to cook all kinds of yummy things (including chicken wings! ^_^), and listening to music. NOT funk music though! We learned in a documentary type show last night, where the origins of 'funk' music came from, and WOW!!! O_O ... We'll never look at funk music the same again!!!! O_O

     

     So, what are you doing to pass the time during the storm?...(provided you're being affected by it.)

     It's gonna be a lot of work when it's all said and done, I'm sure! In fact, my girlfriend has already went out and shoveled her driveway twice, just trying to keep up with it!! O_O We're waiters.....Waiters for someone else to come by and shovel it!! LOL We just wanna enjoy the day off! :-]

If you do, you're probably feeling good right about now, right?! ^_^ ... ME TOO!!! ♥

All My Plans Unfurled

With all my plans unfurled today,
and nothing urgent pressing me,
I might crochet another scarf
or have a steeping cup of tea.

I might watch an old movie,
or take a nap, just for a minute.
Or I might take out a book to read,
or jot a few nice words down in it.

When you don't have any children,
and no job to do from home.
You can stay in your pajamas,
and have hair you don't have to comb.

Yes, with all my plans unfurled,
there could be lots that I could do.
It's always true...I could be busy,
but kinda nice I don't 'have to'!

It's What I Woke Up To This Morning....!

     Snow, weighing the tree limbs down. And thick snow blanketing the backyard ground....Hey! ^_^ That rhymed!! :-) Although I wasn't trying to rhyme that time! I was just trying to tell you about what I woke up to this morning! ^_^ ...  Look at that! Even when I'm not trying to do it on purpose, my brain is still in 'rhyme mode'!
      Anyway! ^_^ Yes, I woke up to snow everywhere, after a day of snowfall. And guess what?!...While the sun is shining, and the temperatures are above freezing right now...we're due to get a 'doozie' of a snow storm coming in this evening! O_O And rather than just a ground cover of snow this time, we're suppose to get walloped! Maybe as much as 8-12 inches or more....*sigh* O_O
      Why couldn't I just wake up to this...

     ...and let that be that?!...Huh?!....WHY?!!

     Probably because that's not how life works! ^_^ I also woke up to a sale in my Wuglyees shop...Life has a way of balancing things out. LOL You know, snow.....a sale!...Aches and pains......hubby being home!.....Time to do things.....a ridiculously packed schedule, and no energy to do anything! ^_^ You know, Life.....fair!....NOT!!!
    I also woke up to the knowledge that this is gonna be a special week of activity because of our congregation's circuit overseer visiting our area. And the knowledge that the week has an extra meeting....one being tonight! That means a shuffling of my schedule as far as my studying too. 
      So, off I go to get my studying done for the meeting, and wrapping a package to ship, and getting some breakfast, and doing some crocheting, and paying some bills, and filling out some paperwork for doing my taxes, and making out a grocery list (which should include some suet for the bird feeder! OOPS!! O_O ...Sorry birdies!!).
     I have to stop right here and say: WOW! though....about "Downton Abbey". Have you been watching?! O_O Every season I think: "What could possibly happen next?...This season is probably gonna get boring pretty soon."...and then! O_O ... WOW!!! ... Let me just say: Beware of band singers, visiting chauffeurs, flirty maids, and unexpected letters from the doctor!! ^_^ YIKES!
     Moving on!...because I don't have time enough to get into anyway!! LOL Have a good day, Everybody! ♥

      Today there's probably a lot of people wondering: "Hmmmm...where exactly is Seattle on the map?!" LOL Yep! There's probably gonna be a lot of Seattle visitors this coming year! ^_^ And, no doubt, some new fans! :-) ...

     I have to confess that I, myself, am a new Seattle Seahawks fan. I'm a tried and true, love em' or hate 'em, fair weather or great weather, Dallas Cowboys fan! :-) And if the Seahawks and the Cowboys end up in the Superbowl against each other next year.....I'm jumping the Seahawk ship first thing!!! LOL I'll be riding a Cowboy all the way to the touchdown poles!!! ^_^

     Clearly, my loyalties, football-wise, are not that solid. LOL...In fact, I'm pretty familiar with all of the Seattle Seahawk player's back stories now, but prior to this week...from the time my Cowboys got put out of the playoffs...I only chose Seattle to follow because their uniforms most closely looked like my Cowboy's uniforms. ^_^ What can I say...I need a tea to root for or football games just don't make sense!! LOL

      What always makes sense to me though, is color! :-) That's why the Seahawk colors ended up in one of my flower pin boutonnieres! ^_^ ...

     I also made one with Denver Bronco colors, but uhhhh......I'm not showing them off today. It just doesn't seem right somehow! ^_^ Truth be told, they're probably not showing themselves anywhere today either!! LOL...GO, HAWKS!!! ^_^ ...
 

     My dad is a Denver Broncos fan. ^_^ Hubby and I called him at halftime yesterday...okay...it was to 'razz' him! ^_^ Oh! So fun!!!! ^_^ He started 'razzing' his own team by the time we hung up!! LOL

     That was 'football fan, Wug'.....Today I'm 'good daughter, Wug'. So, I think I'll call him and tell him how great Peyton Manning is anyway (the quarterback for Denver), and how he's already racked up so many accolades anyway, that one silly Superbowl ring wouldn't make any difference! :-] ... Then I'll wait for dad to start 'razzing' me!! ^_^

     The Denver Broncos is not my dad's first team choice either Guess what team is. :-) ... Yep!....The Dallas Cowboys!! ^_^ And then it's the New England Patriots.....and then Denver! So, he won't let this loss bother him too much...until next season starts all over again! ^_^

     For me, I'm a winner right now!! ^_^ But, as long as there is some kind of sports on, I'm a winner almost every day sports-wise....Truthfully, in life, I'm a winner all the time!! ^_^ From the God I worship, to the husband I spend every day with, to my many loving friends and family!!! ♥ Let's put it this way...if I had it in cash, I'd own Google, Facebook, and Twitter, Bill Gates, Donald Trump, and the Rockefeller family!!!! ^_^

Do You Play?!

I had some 'Play Time' in my youth,
back when my hips could take the heat.
I couldn't wait to find someone
that I could race, chase down, or beat!

How many times did I 'Hopscotch',
play some marbles, skip a rock?
And a game of 'Tag' could go
until you couldn't see the clock!

All my games were very active.
So much energy, people! WOW?!
But things have changed. It's different,
because I'm so much older now!

I still have 'Play Time' at my age,
but the games are slow and rare.
I like board games, playing cards,
things you do right from your chair.

The games I watch can't be too long.
I'll fall asleep! I'm kind of nod-dy.
And I have to use my mind.
No running round now with this body.

I play with things like yarn,
and with hooks...even thread.
And I play with pen and pencil,
pulling poems from my head.

Whichever way, I have to play!
It's my excuse to have a laugh.
I just have to keep it slow.
Don't want a charlie-horse in my calf!

     Okay...just know, right off the bat, that this is not gonna be some earth-shattering, insightful, and deeply revealing blog post. No!...Sorry. But it 'is' gonna have some beauty! :-) ... Some beauty from an Etsy shop called SammyPhoto.

     I shared one of this shop's photos on my post yesterday...the photography wall clock. Later I went back to do a more 'in depth' browse through. And I loved what I saw! Flowers, flowers, and more beautiful flowers everywhere!! :-)

     What gorgeous photographs!! :-) ... So, instead of pouring through my emotions about the memorial talk that was given for my friend at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses yesterday....Soooo beautifully done too, by the way!...I decided to hide behind some flowers today...and some sleep (which I plan to get lots of also!).

     I can tell you one of the stories that was told. The story that made me sob uncontrollably because of it's simplicity and truth...It was the words of the man that drove the moving truck that took my friend on her long journey to her new state of Florida about a month or more ago.

     It was his first time meeting her. But by the time they took the long ride from Connecticut to Florida he could say that it was one of the most fun trips he had ever taken! ^_^ Yep! That was my friend for you!...She was fun to travel with. :-) I know. We traveled around together almost every day while we were 'pioneering' (serving as full time ministers of Jehovah's Witnesses). We laughed, and did so much good for each other. Hopefully we did good for the people we came in contact with too. The people we taught about Jehovah God and his word, the Bible...Oh, I will miss her.

Call this post "stream of consciousness, or bust"! ^_^ I'll start with the great date hubby and I had last night. There's nothing better than just letting time come to you, instead of you chasing time all day long! Ahhhhhhh!...Relaxing.

     And now today?...not so relaxing. O_O I'm gonna be busy from sun-up to sun-down!!...

     But I might do just fine in the 'heating department' with just my feet covered. :-) ...

To ease my mind,
I jot down a rhyme.

When forced to think,
my brain cells link.

With emotions on paper,
anxieties taper.

With the flow of my pen,
I'm  at peace again.

And to jot down this rhyme,
