Blue On 'Virtual' FridayDate Day!

       All you have to do is look at that beautiful beach scene in the header photo and you will know what's on my mind this morning. :-) Friday...Virtual...Date...Day!!...I have been waiting for Friday to get here!!

       What do I plan to do today?! And where are hubby and I going on our date tonight?!...That's for us to know, and for you to find out! LOL...Sorry. My pre-school brain was hollering at me, and I just had to respond!! LOL...The truth is...I'm not sure where we're going! ^_^ I put my desire in the hat for somewhere warm though! Hubby is in control of bringing it all together. I'm sure he will!

      So, while I'm thinking of blue skies and blue water...instead of the 4 degrees we're having here in Massachusetts, and the hour of sleep I'm gonna lose this weekend (Daylight Savings Time)...let me give 'you' some blue to look at too!!...

      Now, to my story......I woke up in a not so great feeling...just about to mentally spiral into a "Why Me?"...mood this morning. I still don't know why because I went to bed early; I didn't eat anything before bed that would be making me feel like this; And nothing bad has happened this morning! O_O But.......there I was, not even wanting to take a bath!...Meh!...But no worries...those of you who are thinking: 'EWWWW!', and who now have your nose 'squinched' up! LOL...I did bathe!!

       And I know myself well enough to know that I can't let my mind get too far away from me!...So I headed off to look for inspiration!...Some IT'S NOT THAT BAD!, you better get it together, Girl!...inspiration....And I found it too!!

      I saw that someone on Facebook had posted a video that completely put me in tears....and completely inspired me to feel better!!...But before I share it with you, let me ask you...Do you like your arms and legs?!

How Can You Be So Positive

So how am I so positive,
When things sometimes seem bleak?
It's easy, 'cuz my breathing

Oh yes, I have a choice!
I can be miserable and whine;
Be mean to folks around me,

But who would make that choice,
when there's a better way to be?
I mean, who's breathing every day
and writing poems?...ME! 

I Need Chocolate!!!

      I haven't been up very long, but I can already tell that I'm gonna need some chocolate to get me through the day!...Not a lot of it! But...yeah...some!! Maybe a bit of dark chocolate...or a 'Mounds' bar....or a large 'Tootsie Roll'...or something!

      Why do I say this?!...Because my mind is kinda scattery. A familiar...hormonal...kind of scattery. The kind of scattery where I'm sitting here looking at the morning news, waiting for hubby to come and kiss me goodbye before he's off to work.....And then I remember that...Oh!...O_O...He did kiss me goodbye!...almost two hours ago!!...*blink, blink!* O_O

      PLEASE tell me that I'm not the only woman in the world that has ever started to get dressed, and then realized that some water was left running in the sink...when you went to check and see if your shoes would actually match what you were about to put on! O_O ... Yeah!...One of those kind of days!!...Ugh!

      And the fact that our weather started this morning at 'minus three', and isn't gonna get close to 'plus forty' for the rest of the day, doesn't help!!...Maybe that's what's wrong with my brain. Maybe it's the barometric pressure! ^_^

      Anyway!...I'm looking for love today!...and chocolate!! ^_^

      What can I say. Besides crocheting...when I remember how to coordinate my hands!...all I have is chocolate on the brain! Chocolate

A snow storm on the way,
finding out you're hard in debt.

Doggie had an accident,
a long trip to the vet.
A waiting room with lots to read,

Grocery shopping too.

Stations, Everybody!!......Crochet!

      Guess what?!...I actually did some crocheting yesterday! ^_^ I know. You think I do crocheting every day, right?!...Well, usually I do. But lately.....not so much. I just haven't been in the mood. Or should I say...my body hasn't been in the mood!

       Every time I got it into my head to do some crocheting, I found my joints stiff, my mind mentally distracted, or I was just plain exhausted! O_O But yesterday I felt fine!...So I got to work on a new clutch back flower pin!...

      My little pins work great for men's lapels, women's coats, headband ornaments, scarf accessories, or wherever!...just thought I'd do a three second commercial. :-)))
 

      The above flower pin is my six-petal pin. It's very small. 1&1/2 inches across...
 

      I have a smaller one though. This one (below)...
 

      It's four-petals, and it's only one inch across...
 

      I'm gonna be making a lot of flower pins in the upcoming days. I have to get ready for Spring! ^_^ That is...if it actually comes! :-))

I'm not that coordinated either!...Oh Yeah, and...I'm too old to care about whose doing what that early in the morning!...even though I 'do' love a new experience! :-)) ...       Okay...tell the truth. If you watched television last night, were you team 'Downton Abbey' or team 'Oscars'?! ^_^ ... Me?!...I peeped at the Oscars while hubby was giving me my nightly leg rub, and then I went to sleep! LOL I haven't seen very many movies at all this year, so I wouldn't have recognized any of the nominees anyway. And I knew I would fall asleep before 'Downton Abbey' ended, so I didn't even turn the television to that channel. I decided to wait to look at it today...'OnDemand'. (A cable service recorded programming line-up). ^_^ 

       Thanks to my morning news though, I know who won what on the Oscars already. So there's no need to look at the replay of the Oscars...Besides, I didn't recognize the names of the winners...except for Matthew McConaughey...But I didn't see the movie he was in either, soooooo....! O_O

      So, what do I talk about this morning?!...Uhhhhh...How about the fact that 'Storm Titan', the storm that was suppose to be bringing us 6 inches to a foot of ice and snow today...the storm that I changed my doctor's appointment for! Ugh!...totally 'dissed' us!! O_O It now isn't even gonna reach us!!

      I shouldn't be mad about it, right?!...Well, I am!!! Grrr!...The reason is because hubby had taken the day off from work for my doctor's appointment, and we had made some other plans for today also, and now....because of that storm's diversion everything has changed!! And I'm gonna have to reschedule everything to do it again next week! Ugh!

      "Just move on, Wug!"...Okay. Okay!! ^_^

      The last painting reminded me of what me and hubby could be doing on one of our Friday 'virtual date nights' or...what we could've been doing today...if not for 'Storm Titan' flipping the script on us! Grrrr!...Okay. Okay!!!!...Moving on! LOL

      On my Monday with nothing scheduled to do, I'm gonna crochet....eat.....watch 'Downton Abbey'.....and plan a doctor's appointment outing for next week! :-) I hear that the temperatures could be in the 70s by then!!...In other words, it could be a better outing next week than it would've been this week!! ^_^ And I don't have anything, but time!!... Yep! I somehow always find the 'good news' in things!! ^_^ Have a good week, Everybody! ♥

Minutes In A Year

        In case you don't recognize the lyrics, those are the words from Pharrell Williams' song, "Happy".  I woke up this morning with them playing over and over in my mental song looped head......*In case you're new to the blog and you don't know about this, I wake up every morning with a song playing in my head...for no apparent reason. It could be a wordless tune from a commercial, or just a random classical, pop, country, etc song..Doesn't matter...But there is ALWAYS a song of some kind playing in my head when I wake up!...as if my dreams have theme music! ^_^)

      And as it turns out....I'm in a good mood! :-) My head cold seems to be gone. And the cold sore on my lip almost is too!...The huge snowstorm that was suppose to hit us, starting tonight, apparently is gonna be just a dusting, or one or two inches of snow, by the time it reaches us here in Holyoke! :-)...And the doctor's appointment that I was fretting over has been changed to next week!! ^_^

       I feel like a dancing school kid this morning!! ^_^ ... Now, add to this that hubby offered to make me pancakes...and you really got a lot of Sunday morning happy going on!! ^_^ But...... 

         "Uhhhhhh...hold up, Mr. Sunday Morning Pancake Cowboy! O_O What did you say?!...We don't have enough pancake mix?! O_O......Uhhhhh...You're gonna do what?!...Find something else to mix with it, and put more water in it to make it stretch?!...You think I'll be happy with them?!.....Uhhhh...Thank you, but no!...I don't want pancakes that look like pancakes, but taste like something else!!...I'd rather not have pancakes at all. Thank you very much! Don't mess with my 'happy' this morning!!" 
        
      Sometimes happy is going just a little bit too far!! LOL 

      Anyway!! ^_^ I was in such a good mood this morning that, with a happy song playing in my head, I headed over to Etsy to scroll and look for 'Happy'! This is what I found! :-) ...

      I found signs of Spring, and lots of happy color! :-) You know how it is when you're in a good mood...Happy. :-) You find what you're looking for...every...single...time! ^_^ ♫ So, I'm happy!! ♫ ... I hope you find your happy today too! But if the school kids in the video above didn't do it........I don't know what to tell you! ^_^

Happy Weather People

Weather people are so happy!
So excited about their maps!
Always smiling on the T.V.,
like there's sunshine in their laps.

They're a chitty chatty bunch.
Talking radars and jet streams.
Strangely when the weather turns
their eyes glaze over, and face beams.

I don't know how they are so happy
when there's snow and rain and sleet;
When they do outdoors reporting,
smiling, while with soaking feet!

The places that they go
are where most folks are running from!
Are they brave?, selfless?, crazy?,
 or just really, really dumb?!

I cannot imagine
how they hold their heads up high,
when most folks can't stand their forecasts,
and they make folks want to cry.

They seem so proud and happy;
Fancy ties and great hair-dos!
Disgruntled comments bounce right off,
as do our frequent hiss and boos!!

The conclusion that I've reached
is that they have a 'Happy Gene'.
But, no doubt, they would just say
that they're reporting what they've seen.

Hey! They were not there
when wind and force moved things around!
But they're happy to be able
to now tell us where it's bound! 

Here Comes The Lion!!

       You ever hear the phrase: 'March comes in like a lion, goes out like a lamb'?!...Well, look out folks! Winter is gonna be roaring like a lion, and be a total travel nightmare for over 100 million people, during the first several days of March!...Ugh!...And, unfortunately, those of us here in Massachusetts will not be spared!

      Snow, rain, and ice is gonna spread from the northern Rockies and central Plains to portions of the Midwest this weekend. And it's gonna  reach the Northeast, our backyard...so to speak...and mid-Atlantic, on Sunday through Sunday night...Ugh!...Ugh!...Some areas along this storm's path could end up with a foot or more of snow!! O_O The area we're in is saying 6-12 inches...Ugh!

      That's just what we need...more snow!! O_O And the ice?! ... Oh no, let's not forget the ice!...There's suppose to be an icy mix in some areas too!! O_O ... I guess I better enjoy the pretty blue skies we have right now, huh?!...

      Those blue skies can be deceiving if you keep looking up!...because when you look down...
 

      ...there's snow everywhere!!...
 

      Where are we gonna put all of this snow... and ice ...when it gets here?! O_O ...Ohhhh, I don't know...but I'm sure we'll find somewhere!! :-] We're New Englanders!...'Can Do' kinda people!...Hearty!...Survivors!........Crazy!!! LOL ... No doubt some New Englander somewhere is already trying to figure out if they can set up a slide hill in their backyard, or a snow-boarding knoll!! ^_^
      Us?!....we're just trying to figure out how to get the frozen solid wheels to our hibachi aloose!!! O_O I mean...Spring is coming in about...Oh, I don't know...a lamb's time!! LOL...
      

      Too bad we couldn't wait out this 'calm before the storm' on an island somewhere in Scotland!.... or somewhere, anywhere else!! ^_^

Snowstorm Sublimation

Here we go again!
Another calm before the storm.
Things seem perfectly serene.
Not a thing 'out of the norm'.

I'll enjoy it while I can,
because I know this calm won't last.
Soon we'll get another hit
from another arctic blast.

Now we need a few suggestions
on a place to store new snow,
because our backyard is all full,
and it's too much snow to tow.

Come on 'sublimation'!
Take this snow into the sky!
We have another snowstorm coming!
And our snow pile is waaay too high!
