Cough!...Rest!...Repeat!!

https://www.facebook.com/TheWeatherChannel/photos/a.123377330920.127986.118071565920/10152248817860921/?type=1&theater

Have no fear!...I'm still able to talk! LOL...Sorry. I had a bit of an 'Underdog' moment!! Ha! Ha!...Anyway!...I'm still working on this cold of mine...not the snowy cold outside! But this cold in my body!...which is now more of a head cold. I have an annoying cough, and stuffed head, but the fever is gone.
I'm resting, drinking tea, and...'surprise, surprise!'...crocheting!! :-) Yes, crocheting!! I got a request from a repeat customer to make him two black lapel pins with clutch backs. So, besides staring out the window, watching the occasional bird, and coughing, I've been doing a bit of crocheting.

I'm not quite feeling myself just yet. And I also have that feeling like my whole schedule is off, and that the 'get-it-back-together' wheels are gonna fall off any minute! ^_^ But I guess that's pretty normal for someone who hasn't done anything but eat and sleep for days! ^_^

I'm gonna hunt around for something interesting to talk about...when I feel like talking, I mean...Right now....I'm sorry...but I feel like all I have is filler!...Thankfully my filler has words attached!! LOL
In the meantime, don't mind me! Y'all go and have a good day! :-] Check back tomorrow just to make sure I'm still alive though!!! LOL You know I'll be here talking!...I can't be left alone with a pad and pen, or a typewriter, for long!!! LOL

When I am alone

When I am alone,
with just my pen and pad,
I can talk about myself,
whether I'm  happy, tired or mad.

When I am alone
all the words just fly
from my brain of 'Busy'-ness
to the sight-line of the eye.

When I am alone
there is no veiled conflict;
There is only what I think,
and my ball-point Bic.

When I am alone
I can just be calm;
and if there's  been a fight,
words can soothe like balm.

When I am alone
I confirm, with glee,
that I really like myself
and that "I'd  be friends with me!"

When I am alone
there's  no loneliness;
and what I am feeling
I don't  have to guess-
I just put down pen, and press!

Time For A 'Do-Over'?!!

I know what you're thinking!...You're thinking: "Mr. and Mrs. Wug must've had some kind of intoxicating wild Friday date night!!...Otherwise why is she so late getting the blog post up today!! Huh?....HUH?!!!"...LOL.....Well, if that's what you're thinking....you would be thinking waaaaay WRONG!! ^_^ ...Unless you call a big Sprite with a straw in it, and a glass of orange juice, intoxicating and wild! ^_^
In fact, our 'date night' consisted of tacos, a fish and shrimp combo, watching a television special about Bible lands, and flipping back and forth to see weather reports of another upcoming storm that we're getting today....Ugh! O_O...The night was very relaxing....except for the weather reports!...*Inhale....Exhale....Repeat! LOL*

The real reason I'm late with the post this morning is because hubby and I got into one of our conversations and I got side-tracked!! ^_^ ...{Plus I'm hormonal....but I won't talk about that part!! ^_^ You're welcome, fellas!}...Part of the conversation went like this:

Me: "Here they go again now, with all of the New Year's eve commercials!...Did you see that one?!..*pointing at the tv*"
     Hubby: "What?"
Me: "Jenny McCarthy supposedly kissed somebody randomly in Times Square last year and now they have a commercial on about who she's gonna kiss this year!...*shaking my head*...Have you seen that commercial?"
     Hubby: "No."
Me: "I think it was somebody in a uniform....A soldier or somebody I think. I wasn't looking at it that close."
Hubby: "No, it was a police officer."
Me: *Puzzled*..I thought you said you didn't see it!
Hubby: "I thought you meant did I see the whole thing last year when it happened! O_O"
Me: "Why would I be asking, or care about what you saw in a commercial last year?!" O_O
Hubby: "I don't know!!...LOL...Why are you asking me?!...I can't figure out why you care about who Jenny McCarthy is kissing on New Year's Eve!!! LOL We don't celebrate New Year's!!"
Me: " O_O ...I DON'T care who she's kissing!! I was just talking about the commercial!!!!!" LOL

And that was only part of the 'merry-go-round' of conversation we had this morning!! ^_^ Another part involved his father, his brother and him going out to take care of some family business....in the storm!...Ugh!...I only have half a brain, people!...and I'm using it at full sparking strength this morning already!!! LOL
THEN.....and yes, there was more! LOL....then I decided to show you the redo of one of my necklaces from my shop! I re-did it for my 'wedding section"! :-) ...but me and hubby had a difference of opinion on what colors would look good...He thought that if a bride was using it, the flower should be white. I wanted to use mustard yellow...This was the subject...

I made it a long time ago as one of my 'Ugly Wuglyee' necklaces...

And it's been sitting in the shop since then...too ugly to buy apparently!! LOL

So I decided to give it a little 'do-over'!!...

...from a pink and pea green 'Ugly Wuglyee" button mess!!....with the glass center button removed altogether!...to a mustard yellow filigree glass bead wedding brooch! :-) ..

What do you think?!...Do you think a white flower would have been better?!...I'm gonna make a matching men's boutonniere today. We'll see what kind of reception it gets! :-)) If it's not good...I'll do it over again....in white!! LOL....Hey! I can be flexible!...except in silly round and round conversations about Jenny McCarthy I mean!! LOL

Okay, I'm off to spend some time with 'ME'..and some yarn, some paper and a pen!!! :-)) Have a good day, Everybody!!

When I am alone

with just my pen and pad,

Yeah!...I Said 'Celery'!!

Celery was on the grocery list for the weekend. I thought it would flavor up some soup nicely. Soup that was needed to keep my sick hubby hydrated and 'on the mend'. But I didn't end up getting any celery...maybe today. I didn't end up getting any because hubby wasn't even feeling well enough to go grocery shopping...he's the one that does it in our house....'Don't be a hater!!' LOL
As you can see from the header photo though, I wasn't satisfied to go 'completely' without my celery! ^_^ I found celery everywhere!...

I even found some in one of my yarn bags...
It was in the form of some leftover cotton celery yarn...of course! :-)) And since I'm all about making headbands these days...
...why not a celery and white colored headband?! :-)
I love this color in a headband!!...It's not gonna be for warmth though. It's more for fashion...And to 'pump up' the fashion a little more...
...You guessed it...a crochet flower to put on it! :-)
And I added this silver bull's eye button....just because!! ^_^ Be thankful you weren't laying in the bed sick, listening to me flipping and rolling and tossing all kinds of buttons around in their bin, trying to find just the right one for your 'celery masterpiece'!! LOL Sorry Mr. Wug...*Teehee*
I still have to put a back on the flower, and then I have to sew it to the headband...
I sat it up on top of the headband so you could see what it's gonna look like though...
Cute, huh?!...Yes I do know that I could be a bit biased! ^_^
Anyway! That's all I got for you today...except to show you that there is still a little bit of Fall color still in my backyard...
...*a slight tear falls down my cheek*...and to let you know that even though my soup didn't have celery,  it had chicken...and hot sippiness! And between that and lots of water, vitamin C, juices, and tons and tons of sleep, my hubby is all better! Really!! :-)
His achiness went away pretty quick. And so did his fever. By yesterday evening he was practically back to his old self again. Not even a sniffle was left!...*patting myself on the back*....*cough! cough!* Now I just have to keep applying the same things to myself today and I think all will be well...(I have a little drippiness...What? Too much information?!! LOL)
We have rain and strong winds coming mid-week, so I'm gonna be all about doing some headband crocheting today, before the achy joints get the memo! LOL I hope you all find something just as fun to out-race yourself to do too! :-) I love my time alone...without any sick people left in the house. It makes me feel very accomplished! :-) Now it's all about 'ME'-ville! :-)) Have a good day everybody!

The Tale Of The Yoyo Bag........THE END!!

Hello Everybody! I hope your weekend is going great so far...Considering that hubby and I have been to Greece and up near Boston Massachusetts, had Greek pitas and salad, Fig Newtons, and I got my Yoyo bag back...with a lining in it!...my weekend is going great!! :-)
The header photo is one of the photos from when I was making the Yoyo bag. I was really having fun with all of those beautiful colors...while at the same time dreading what was to come...putting a lining in it!
When it was all done...except for the handles...it looked like this...
When I finished it I sat back with a 'Cheshire cat' smile on my face, happy at my accomplishment. :-) Then I put in away...for months now. Why?!...Simple. I didn't want to do the lining!
Then, last week sometime, when I was talking to my friend...my friend who is an expert seamstress in my opinion...I told her about my Yoyo bag, and that I really should've had it online for sale, instead of tucked away..out of the sight of 'lining-wanting-pocketbook-hunters'! ^_^
She said: "Give it to me. I love doing linings!" After I stopped and contemplated what universe she must have been born in, where a person could come out of it 'loving' to do pocketbook linings...then I begged her to "PLEASE" put a lining in my Yoyo bag....PLEASE!!!" She was happy to do it!........And here are the results!.....
She asked me what color I wanted it to be, but I told her to decide. Imagine my glee when it was green!!!...my favorite color!! :-) ... And look how well it's sewn!...
I am a very happy, Yoyo bag owning, 'bout-to-sell-this-baby' toting, camper!! ^_^
You know...I'm actually contemplating making another one now!! ^_^ My friend loved making the lining so much that she said to let her know when I wanted her to put a lining in any of my creations!.....I think we might have a 'pocketbook crocheting, lining-making' corporation just getting started on the ground floor right about now! :-)
And you're not gonna believe this, but she didn't want money for the job either!! She wants me to make her a feminine lacy cowl scarf for her neck...for winter. "Is that all?.....DONE!!" ^_^ But I think for future projects I'll have to insist on actual 'cash'...or else I might start to feel like I was a slave labor boss! I mean...in my book anyway...making pocketbook linings definitely categorizes as 'slave labor'!! LOL
So, what do you guys think?! Do you like the green?! What color would you have chosen?!...Oh! By the way, speaking of color...and green...the sister color to green...blue...was the theme of goodegear's Etsy treasury. And she included my Blue Wooden Button Dangle Crochet Flower Necklace from my Wuglyees shop in it!...
Her treasury is entitled Winter Blues...
My favorite items she chose for this treasury?!...
A Victorian Rosette Gift Bag by crochetbymsa...
A Shaggy Crochet Handbag by NzLbags...
And a Turquoise Crocheted Necklace by KnotTherapy.
All gorgeous pieces!!....But in fact, the rest of the items are really nice too. You can click HERE to see the others.
Okay, I'm off to eat a little breakfast, see if I can get hubby to take some better photos of my new 'lined' Yoyo bag...so I can go ahead and list it in my shop today, and then get back to doing the fringe on the scarf that's in my Giveaway. The 'bright' one. {The other one...the 'Pastel'...is only half done. I ran out of yarn...Hubby is gonna get me some more today. No worries, it should be all done by the Giveaway deadline, October 1st...
        Speaking of which...I only have about 4 entries for the scarves right now! O_0 Nobody wants a free scarf?!!...Okayyyyy!...But if you're interested, you can check the right hand sidebar on this blog...the scarf photo. Or you can follow the link HERE as to how you can enter the Giveaway.}
Thank you all so much for being so supportive of me with your kind...and sometimes very funny!  ^_^ ...words! I hope you're enjoying the interchange as much as I am!...although I don't know if that's possible!  :-) ... Have a good rest of the weekend!

Gray...With A Winning Touch Of Color!

It's gonna be another day involving rain here in Holyoke Massachusetts today. But this time I'm ready!! I've got some reading to do, a drama to listen to on my cassette, some phone calls to make, and some tennis to watch!...Speaking of which...Congratulations to Samantha Stosur for winning the Women's Singles U.S. Open Tennis Tournament last night! Woohoo!!!
             (samstosur(dot)com)
She was a fabulous champion! She worked hard, kept her composure during a slight controversy that happened, and was gracious in victory. She made me smile all the way through...YOU GO! GIRL!!! :-) ... I was so excited for her!...She's a bit excited herself!...

Most of the commentators appeared to not even give her the slightest chance to win, considering how strong Serena Williams had been playing up until last night, but Sam proved them wrong! :-)
       Okay...smiling...but moving on!!
The whisk photo....I wanna tell you about the whisk photo! I know you're wondering what that's about! ^_^ Well, it's one of the items that was featured in a beautiful treasury by Lisa of grimmandgrete...
I should say 'another' beautiful treasury, because lately she's created some real stunners! In fact her treasuries have been on the front page of etsy recently on numerous occasions! She's really good at putting a treasury together!
That's why I was so honored to have my 'ugly wuglyee' slippers..^_^...featured in the above treasury!
They were in there alongside that beautiful 'whisks photo' in the header picture,....this Clouds Poster by debbiecarlos,...
....this Norwegian Fan Design...Whole Spoon Ring by helendesign...
...and many other great items. (You can click on the treasury photo above to go and look at the rest of them if you'd like)...Thanks Lisa!!! :-)
I forgot to mention that I have something else to do today too...crochet! I'm going to be starting another scarf. This one may...or may not...be the item I'll be giving away for the next Giveaway! :-) {You can see the right hand sidebar for the Giveaway that's going on right now}So, if you like scarves, and you plan to enter the Giveaway on the 15th of the month, and you have a preference as to what colors you think I should put in it,...leave me a message below....NOW!!! LOL
This is the progression of the one I just finished...
I decided to make it three colors I'd never done together before. Maroon red, white, and gray.
They're so pretty together, especially with that touch of red color in there! It made me wonder why I'd never done it before! O_O Now my mind is full of all kinds of combinations...gray, black, and white; yellow, blue, and white; gray, black, and dark blue;....etc And this is the season for those colors too!! :-)
All inspired by this maroon, gray, and white one....
...that's now on sell in my Wuglyees Etsy shop HERE!!! :-)
I love crocheting!!! :-) It's so relaxing...and so rewarding when you see someone wearing something you made! So, imagine my joy when the award winning author, Donna Carrick (Donna_Carrick on Twittertweeted me a link to a photo of herself wearing one of my brooches!!! :-]
I was absolutely thrilled!!! :-] ... I really liked the way she was wearing it too! Just goes to prove what I always say: You can choose which way you want to wear a flower brooch, and some ways are up to the imagination of the one wearing it!...No! I don't always say that to 'YOU'!! But it's what I always say to people asking questions about them. :-)
One friend who I said this to, slipped one of my brooches on her belt! Another one, who was visiting my house carrying her baby girl, grabbed one of my brooches, stuck a hair clip through the back of it, and put it in her little girl's hair right on the spot...and fell in love!! :-)) I love when stuff like that happens! ^_^
Okay....I'm getting side-tracked and too chatty!!! ^_^ See what happens when I'm alone?!!...I've got things to do today!! And I'm sure you do too!! :-) Have a good day everybody!!...with a touch of color!
