"Hello!...Do You Have Any Rings...And Catfish?" :-))

https://www.etsy.com/listing/169253196/world-map-statement-ring-map-ring-gift?ref=favs_view_9

      Hi! :-) Look at that! Two days in a row I'm posting! Go Figure!! LOL Actually though, you can consider this post 'me keeping my word'. I told you on yesterday's post that I'd stop by to share some cute rings I saw on Etsy. So here I am!! ^_^
      I wanted to share a couple of rings and also this cute mug! :-) ...

      The etsy shop where I saw this mug has some of the cutest little mugs I've ever seen!! ^_^ And they say just the thing 'I be needing to say' too! LOL

      Moving on to the other ring! :-)) ...

      What a mystery why I like this one, right?! :-) The only thing that would make it any cuter would be a duplicate of it...in a crochet pattern!! ^_^

      And that's it! ^_^ Except to say a big 'THANK YOU' to my dear girlfriend who cheered me up BIG TIME today with a catfish and fried okra dinner!! :-) YUM, YUM!!! (In my most expressive 'HEE HAW' voice! ^_^ Does anybody even remember that old show besides me?! lol)

      Say 'Goodbye' Henry!.....

      Just imagine that you heard a 'MEOW!"....and saw a big hand full of catfish waving at ya!! Ha! Ha!

Sunday Mornings

Sunday mornings are for quiet,
and for music in your ears.
Not for fretting over business,
or for struggle, or for tears.

Sunday mornings are for worship,
or for time to just relax.
Not for schedules that need keeping,
or for dealing with the 'Quacks'!

Sunday mornings are for slowness,
sipping on a cup of 'Joe';
Getting ready for the new week,
when you have to 'Go! Go! Go!'

Sunday mornings are for birds,
crows and woodpeckers alike.
Or for pancakes on the griddle,
or for snowy morning hikes.

Sunday mornings are for color,
and for spousal 'chitter chat',
and for doing a bit of reading,
or writing poems that end like.....that!

Baby Sweater and Hat...But No Frog Legs!

      I love the quietness of Sunday mornings. :-] I love it even more when I'm getting served one of my favorite breakfasts in bed! ^_^ And 'NO!'...I'm not talking about pancakes! LOL I'm still not back in a pancake mood yet. In fact, when I think of pancakes my mind goes something like this...fluffy...sweet...YUM!...bloated...sweaty...exhausted...itchy!!! O_O Bad!...Bad!...Bad pancakes!!! LOL
      So...no pancakes! ^_^ Instead, hubby served me a delicious feast of fried catfish, scrambled eggs, grits and cheese, and hot green tea with honey and lemon. ^_^ Hmmm...there was something missing...hmmm...I'll think of it in a minute.

      I have to tell you my other news! :-) My neighbor...the one that has been searching for a pattern and yarn, so that I can hand make a baby outfit for her to give as a gift...found one! :-) It's the one I'm showing you here...

      It's the cutest little baby sweater and hat!! :-) ...

      She doesn't want the mint green though. She bought soft pink yarn...Very pretty. :-) I already started it!...I was gonna try to show you what I've done so far, but it's too dark outside to take pictures...It's raining. O_0 YUCK!!!
      Maybe that why hubby made me such a nice breakfast. He's trying to soothe the aching complaining beast!....Uhhhhh...that would be ME!! LOL And guess what?!...It worked!!! ^_^ I'm a full and happy camper now! No bloating!...No sweating!...No exhaustion!...No itching!! :-)
      The only thing that was missing was....? O_O ...

      Oh Yeah!!!...the frog legs!!! LOL...I'm just kidding. I'm not missing frog legs! ^_^ In fact the only reason I mentioned it was because I saw the three signs (above) and realized that this was my breakfast this morning...all except the frog legs!! ^_^
      And just in case you're wondering...Yes. I have eaten frog legs...but it was a looooooong time ago in a land far, far away...Georgia, to be exact. LOL I had them fried...of course! And, as I remember, they tasted like chicken!! LOL
      Okay...enough silliness! I've got a meeting to get ready for, and a baby sweater and baby hat to work on. :-) Not to mention, I also have a grocery list to write down, some laundry to fold, some expired listings to renew in my Wuglyees Etsy shop, and a few other things...Where does the time go so fast anyway?!!
      Have a good rest of the weekend, Y'all!...I said Y'all because you have to say "Y'all" when your post is including catfish and frog legs!! LOL

Down Home

When I say the words "Down Home"
my deep emotions come alive.
My memories of riding in the car,
heading south on I-95.

I pass right on through New Haven,
and the Washington Bridge flies by;
The "New Jersey Turnpike's" traffic
makes me almost want to cry.

But its when North Carolina's
scenes of country life begin
that "Down Home" becomes a feeling
in which I'm comfortable again.

When I'm close to route I-20,
"South Of The Border" is what I see,
and soon I'm "Down Home", feeling Georgia's
southern hospitality.

There are things about the north
that make me happy that I live there,
but the dirt roads of the south
I seem to need like I need air.

People fishing for their supper,
cooking bass and fried catfish;
On Sunday, rocking on the porch
(What's in the north as good as this?!)

From "Down Home" there's 'salmon patties',
'Beanie Weenies', pone and grits,
country music, rock and soul-
everybody's greatest hits.

But I know that what I'm missing
is more than "Down Home" southern pine;
Its the feelings and emotions
of the Georgia in my mind.

Pancake Sunday...Without Pancakes?! O_O

      Yes, I know. My 'Pancake Sunday' header photo should be of a plate of pancakes, or something that looks like pancakes, right?! But, considering the fact that I'm barely awake, and that my stomach doesn't even wanna look at a 'bloaty' pancake right now, it's got to be a carafe of coffee!...It's gotta be!!! ^_^
     Maybe I'll have a couple of pancakes for dinner...just so the 'Pancake Sunday' theme will stay intact! LOL But for this morning, I'm leaning more toward something more...Ummmm...fishy! :-] ...

     ^_^ Etsy sellers make my heart smile!...Look at that cute catfish bath buddy!!! :-)

     As I was saying, I'm leaning toward a breakfast more fishy, and less bloaty. So I decided on catfish and grits...you know, something like this!...

      Okay!!...not exactly like that! ^_^ Although I know somebody out there thinks that catfish look just like that!! LOL

      I'm talking about catfish that looks more like this, when it's in it's natural habitat...

       ...And more like this, when it's in 'MY' natural habitat!! LOL...

     YUM!!! :-)

     So, sorry. No pancakes today. And hubby was ready to make me some too!! "Thanks, Honey!" No, I'm gonna eat my catfish and grits, and sip on my green tea this morning...For lunch or dinner I'll probably sneak those pancakes in...along with a heaping piece of cheesecake with cherries on top!! :-) Oh!...did I forget to mention that hubby made cheesecake yesterday?!...I'm sorry...sorta. ^_^
      And no, I'm not gonna show you! Some things are better not shown, because it would just be cruel and unusual punishment!! ^_^ But, just for you, I'll lick my lips a little extra after I eat it!! LOL...Sorry again. :-))
      Have a happy Sunday, Y'all!! Spend it in good and loving communication with your family. Our 'Watchtower' magazine had really good reminders about that today. I look forward to talking and listening to my friends discuss it at the meeting today. :-) It reminded me of a poem I wrote a while ago about teenagers too. I'll leave it below...Have a happy!!! :-)

 Dreaded Teenager

She was our little daughter,
with a playful, happy grin;
Now this teenager replaced her-
and our nerves are all on end!

She Was confident and sure;
Now, her self-esteem seems lowered;
She would entertain herself;
But now, no matter what, she's  bored.

She loved raising up her hand,
giving comments from the heart;
Now, she's  hesitant and shy;
Being bold's a long lost art.

She used to love her sandals;
Now, its all about 'the boot',
She Would wear clothes to keep warm;
Now, she'd  rather be cold-and 'cute'!

What happened to the little girl
who just couldn't wait to please;
Who would run and jump and play,
with a giddy kind of ease?

She's  now a dreaded teenager!
These years have come too fast;
and my only consolation
is that soon this too shall pass!

Sweets For The Sweet...And Sickly!

     I don't have much to talk about this morning, because I wasn't awake long enough yesterday for anything to happen! ^_^ I slept practically the whole day away!!...And it was a sweet sleep too!...Mainly it was sweet because all day, in order to soothe my scratchy drippy throat, I had been sucking on peppermints, 'Ricola' cough drops, and anything slow melting and throat soothing that I could get my hands on!
     At one point it changed from candy to more tea...and then hubby went out to the Chinese restaurant to get me some of their hot chicken noodle soup...F.Y.I., the Chinese restaurant has some of the best soup around! :-)
      Interestingly, hubby came back from the restaurant this time with more sweets!! ^_^ Candy!!...Japanese and Chinese candy!!!...

     They never had this before. At least, he had never seen it before! He says the lady gave it to him when he told her the saga about his sick wife. ^_^

     The lady at the restaurant told him it was Chinese and Japanese candy...What I found funny was that some of the writing on the sides was in English. I think it was the name of the company that made it or something. :-)
       It reminded me of some of the Bazooka bubble gum I used to eat as a child. The ones with the cartoons and comic strip wrappers. ^_^ Between you and I though...and JUST between you and I!...I didn't like it. Shhhhhhhh!...It had a kind of 'after-taste'...Hubby likes it though, so I told him to pretend he had a sore throat and help himself! ^_^

         Anyway!!...Moving on!...I wanna show you what I worked on before I fell asleep yesterday!...

      This one is a replacement for one I sold...

     And this one was made in response to a question from a certain somebody...Cindy, of CinLynn Boutique's Blogspot! ^_^

     She asked if I ever made my little flowers without buttons...

      Answer:...Yeah! Sure! ^_^ Later on I'm gonna make a couple with brooch pins on the back...for young ladies! :-) ... Thanks for the suggestion, Cindy! ♥

     Now I'm off to enjoy my 'Pancake Sunday' breakfast! This morning I got catfish too!!! YUM!! Hubby is speaking my language this morning! :-)

       Have a nice day, Everybody!! :-)

Marital Language

Does your husband speak your language?
Does he get your moods and quirks?
Or do things he says make you question
if his mind still works?!

Does your wife know all your feelings,
as she should, by what you do?
Or does she keep right on talking,
while your face is turning blue?!

Does your marriage live it's own life,
while you two are stuck like glue?
Or are you doing the best you can,
and glad that they'll put up with you!
