Soooooo...This Is What I've Been Up To......!

Hello Y'all!! :-) I've missed you!!...So what have you all been up to?!.....................Me?!.................Ohhhhh....this and that! ^_^ Mostly having to do with business stuff. I've been spending a lot of time trying to get my wuglyees shop inventory moving!! I wanna put new stuff in the shop without hurting the feelings of the old stuff. LOL
The new stuff I mostly wanna put in the shop is my slippers! So I've been experimenting like crazy on what colors, what sizes, whether to go all 'funky' and 'ME'.....or whether to keep it simple and like....well...like what most people would consider normal. ^_^ You can look at the slipper in the header photo and figure out where my leanings are! LOL

      I mean...doesn't everybody like double-soled variegated blue bedroom slippers (size 12) ?! ^_^

Okay, okay!...Maybe 'EVERYBODY' doesn't like them! ^_^ But, the way I figure, my slippers will cause a whole lot more interesting conversations going on!! ^_^

These, of course, aren't my whole 'line' of slippers! ^_^ I made the simply pink ones below, with black on the inside, and black soles...

...but I gave 'em away. :-))

I have to make some more pink ones...maybe tomorrow.

      I also made these...

       I really love them!!...but they're not the easiest to make with the fuzzy yarn!...And I'm giving them to someone tonight. :-)) I still have enough of the yarn to make another pair, so if anybody wants a pair...holla!! ^_^ I'll make 'em for you for $20.00, plus shipping. {The price is negotiable to the right customer too! ♥}

I did make another couple of pair. These burgundy ones (size 11) with pink insides and soles (below)...

...And these white ones, with black soles, and red insides! :-)

I really love the fact that the soles and the insides are different colors! :-) They kinda remind me of the idea that Louboutin had with his shoes, making the soles red! :-) Of course, my crochet shoes are not on the same level as Louboutin's!! ^_^ But you still may see some red-soled slippers come out of my wuglyees crochet shop. Stay tuned!! ^_^
Speaking of which, the white slipperss have been tweaked a bit! ^_^ They looked to me like they needed something........so........I added a bow! ^_^

They still have black soles, and red insides, but now they have 'fanciness' too!! ^_^

How much do you think I should charge for them (size 8) now?! ^_^

Just in case you think there's nothing else of importance going on in my life...I can tell you that there was a 'skunking' incident here day before yesterday that...that......NO!!! I can't tell you!!! LOL Suffice it to say that my digestive system does not like the smell of skunk one bit!!! ^_^ I had kind of an allergic reaction to the smell. That's as far as I'm willing to tell you!...You'll have to guess the rest!! LOL
All other news is just regular, like the fact that I drastically lowered all of the prices in my wuglyees etsy shop. I mean DRASTICALLY!!!...and that hubby has been cooking again. He made me some brownies with walnuts!......*shhhhhhh!*....that weren't good at all!! *Shhhhhhh!* LOL He substituted canola oil for the vegetable oil because he ran out. Uhhhhh.....word to the wise: DO NOT SUBSTITUTE CANOLA OIL IN BROWNIES WHEN YOU'RE BAKING!!!! Y-U-C-K!!...His heart was in the right place though, so I TRIED to eat a couple of them. The operative word is 'tried'!! LOL After that, I had to give up and tell him to throw them out. :-(
      So far I haven't gotten the replacement pan of brownies yet. But he assures me they're coming! ^_^ {If they have canola oil in 'em this time, they also better have a diamond bracelet baked in the pan!! LOL}
Okay...I have to go and take a nap. We have a meeting tonight (Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses), and I don't wanna have my head bobbing from tiredness while I'm trying to learn something spiritually good for me! :-)
Have a good rest of the day, Y'all! It was nice talking to you again! ^_^ ♥

Culture

Sometimes it's hot dogs, lots of mustard,
just so good you can't believe!
With no set table, wine or napkins,
You just wipe it with your sleeve.

But sometimes it's lots of culture,
Orchestras, Museums, Art!
With a little wine and cheese,
not bagel-ed 'cheez whiz' a la carte!

I Guess Somebody Thought I Needed Some Classing Up!

I thought I'd bow to the treasury makers today, and just show off their class. :-) Clearly I need some class too! So, thank you to them for putting me in the classiest galleries I've been in for a while! :-)
In a treasury about silver and gold,...there my gold-colored fingerless gloves sit! :-)

They're sitting there so proudly, next to this Organic 14k Yellow Gold Feather Ring from NangijalaJewelry...

...and this Vintage Glass Dish with Gold detail by labiblioteca...

Okay! I 'do' feel a bit more 'classed up' now! :-]

Now on to some local art!.....Or, rather, the treasury entitled "Art Local" by Inbar Shahak...

My Blue Faux Diamond Button Crochet Necklace got a showing in this one!...

...alongside this Designer Blue Knitted Cushion Cover by andyveeirnhome...

...this stylish Spring Green Leather Wallet by TahelSadot...

...and this hand-painted Wooden Sign by RachelRepurposed...

Gold, silver, and art.....Pretty classy alright!! ^_^

I decided to add a bit of class of my very 'handmade' own too!...

If you remember, I sold the red lapel button boutonniere from my shop the other day. So, I made this one to replace it...

It's tiny. Only about an inch and a half wide.

And you know me, I couldn't just leave well enough alone. I also made a couple more...just because! ^_^ ...

This one (below) is my hubby's favorite...

He's always did have a thing for brown. :-) ...He had a three-piece brown suit that he bought shortly after we got married....that I had to hide and ditch a few years ago!.....Shhhhhhh!....*looking left and right* ^_^ He was in love with that thing!...It was polyester...I think, and the flap above the tukus in the back was slightly folded under...No amount of ironing would make that thing fall correctly!! LOL...Every time he took a step it was as if someone was popping him in the tuckus! ^_^

As soon as he saw me choosing colors for boutonnieres he said, "That One!" :-] Didn't surprise me a bit!...It was brown.

So that's what I've been doing with my time.....How about you?!! ^_^

'Virtual Date Night'--Sometimes It's Not Just Nature....!

Just like Ashley and Aron of the blog Hither & Thither, hubby and I decided this was a great weekend in Massachusetts to head to the Berkshires! It's gonna be a rainy drive tonight, but thankfully it's not a worry, because it's not gonna be a long trip this time!
Where is the Berkshires, you ask?!...It's practically in our backyard! It's the area located in the western parts of Massachusetts and Connecticut! It's both a specific highland geologic region, and a cultural region...The cultural part is what hubby and I are most planning on visiting tonight!...Cultural art attractions and music! YAY! :-) But I'll tell you more about that in a minute!
First...about the Berkshires...Tourism is a principal industry in the Berkshires. It's a popular vacation getaway for nature lovers. It's home to dozens of summer camps too. People love coming to visit this area because of it's mountains;...the Hebert Arboretum in Pittsfield Massachusetts (a park)...

...it's valleys;...the Berkshire Botanical Herb Garden in Stockbridge Massachusetts...

...it's numerous trails;...Bash Bish Falls, the tallest waterfall in Massachusetts, in Bash Bish Falls State Park in Mount Washington...
         ...it's rivers;....covered bridges...fly fishing...canoeing....and spectacular 'leaf-peeping' of Fall foliage! :-)

Even if hubby and I never stopped the car....but of course we have to! :-)) ...just driving around and looking at the leaves turning colors in peak season would be good enough!...

I mean...is there anywhere as beautiful as New England during the Fall?! :-]

....Okay, so you probably have your own beautiful areas. I know! And hopefully hubby and I will get around to visiting them too, one of these weekends! :-) But, today and tonight, it's culture, culture, culture for us! :-)
We'll be visiting the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown Massachusetts...
The grandson of one of the principals of the Singer Sewing Machine company, Robert Sterling Clark (along with his wife Francine), was it's creator! Today, the Clark is best known for works of French Impressionism, especially the paintings of Renoir, and a fine collection of British and American silver.
Then we're gonna pop over to the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art in North Adams Massachusetts...
It's in a converted factory building, and it's one of the largest centers for contemporary visual and performing arts in the country.
Then it's back to Williamstown, to the Williams College Museum of Art, which is a teaching Museum...
                ...and it's free! :-)
Have you heard of the painter and illustrator Norman Rockwell?...Well, we're most looking forward to visiting the Norman Rockwell Museum, home of the world's largest collection of Rockwell art...
It's located in Stockbridge Massachusetts, where Norman Rockwell lived the last 25 years of his life. If you've never seen his work before, you can come along with us for a tour of the museum...

Food is not a big focus on this trip, but no 'Date Night' would be complete without music! And the Berkshires also have some of the best music around....cultural music!
Our last stop will be the Tanglewood Music Center in Lenox Massachusetts. It's an estate and music venue, and the home of the annual summer Tanglewood Music Festival and the Tanglewood Jazz Festival....It's also been the Boston Symphony Orchestra's summer home since 1937.
Have you ever heard of the Boston Pops?! It's an American orchestra, based in Boston Massachusetts, that specializes in playing light classical and popular music. They were founded as a second, popular identity of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, consisting of most of the musicians of the BSO, although generally not the first-chair players.
And so....we're off! :-] I'll leave you with a little culture from John Williams conducting the Boston Pops Orchestra. You might even recognize this bit of classical music! :-)
