'Typical' Is As 'Typical' Does!!...But That's Typically Not Me!!

       There is nothing typical about my life, or about me! I mean NOTHING!...And, frankly, I kinda like it that way! ^_^ I mean who wants to be pigeon-holed, or be predicable?!...Not Me! I like being the kind of girl who when she hears the music for a Hallmark card commercial doesn't know if she's gonna smile, start dancing up and down, cry, or simply 'poo-poo' it as being too sappy. LOL
     It's just this kind of non-typical behavior that led me to my incredible breakfast this morning, of leftover spicy pork and rice, a cornbread flap-jack, and a cup of green tea! :-) No one would look at this breakfast, think of me, and say: "Typical!" :-))

      And thankfully I'm married to someone with the same kind of non-typical sensibilities! I mean...he made homemade collard greens, with smoked turkey wings, in the crock pot (slow-cooker) yesterday! :-) And it was delicious!!!!
      Granted, sometimes non-typical 'can' be a problem...Case in point, some ugly non-typical scarves that I can't get rid of!!! LOL...

       And also there have been some things cooked around here that....Ooooo! O_O I don't even wanna tell you about them on the off chance that you might call the food and drug administration on us!!!...because I'm SURE some of it was chemically changed into something else when it hit the pan!! LOL
      Also with UN-predictability sometimes comes frustration. Yep! We've definitely had some of those days too!! AAAAARGH!!!...But, generally -speaking, being a non-typical couple has given us some happy days dancing around the house to old Commodores songs, has led to some pretty fantastic 'virtual' dates to exotic places all over the world...while we were in our pajamas! ^_^, and has led to some pretty crazy and memorable conversations that led to us getting closer than ever. :-)
       So, today is dedicated to the non-typical people of the world. Be okay with not being completely predicable every day!...By all means, tow the line and be a 'team player' sometimes. That's also necessary! But don't think of yourself as not okay when you do things unlike other people might do it. That just means that you're not typical. And that's okay sometimes too!! :-)

      Okay, moving on!! ^_^ I just wanna show you the new children's size mittens I put in the Wuglyees shop this week!...

      I made them with the Caron Simply Soft paints yarn that I used for that last hat I made a few weeks back.

      They're a combination of turquoise, green, and blue.
 

       Not typically what I would make either! ^_^ There isn't a flower on them anywhere!!

      I'm trying something non-typical for marketing too. I'm giving away a free pair of these mittens to anyone that follows me on Facebook and buys $40.00 worth of product from my Wuglyees shop! :-) So, do your little ones need some warm homemade handmade mittens?! ^_^ If you ask 'pretty please' I might even make you a pair in the color you want!! ^_^

It's A Beautiful Day To Go Somewhere, And Do Some Stuff!!

      It's just a beautiful day today...so far, that is! :-] As DUDADAZE cross stitch says: 'The sun is up. The sky is blue...' And considering what my day was like yesterday...I'll take it!! It was...hmmm...how shall I say?....interesting!

      I was gonna try to give you the play-by-play of yesterday's activities, but when I was trying to figure out how to write it I realized that if I told it as it happened I'd have to give you details that might hurt someone's feelings. So...I won't get into it. Just trust me when I say: 'It was interesting.' And let's leave it at that!

      Instead of 're-hashing' yesterday, let's talk about what I'm going to do today...'Virtual Friday' Date Day! :-) Hubby has today off from work. YAY!! It's gonna be a nice long weekend...with NO STRESS!....I hope, I hope, I hope!!

      We're gonna just relax and smell the roses!...provided we can find some growing somewhere!...

     Let's talk Tuesday, shall we?! ^_^ ... I'm saying that because usually Tuesday gets a 'bad rap'. Tuesday is not Monday! ^_^ Monday being the day everybody has something to talk about, because they dread Monday so much after a good weekend! LOL

     Wednesday, the day following Tuesday, is also easy to talk about, because Wednesday is right in the middle of the week...'Hump Day' and all! ^_^ ... But I don't wanna talk about Monday or Wednesday, because it's Tuesday! :-) And I just saw something on Etsy that will make me think happy thoughts about Tuesday from now on!...

      It was the words "Taco Tuesday"!!!! :-) ... Who knew?!...Tuesday is taco day?! ^_^ Says who?!....Uhhhhhh.....I don't know! :-)) And why didn't I know this?! O_O ... I saw a lot of items on Etsy that proclaimed Taco Tuesday as something special! So SOMEBODY must've thought it up some time or the other, and apparently it wasn't this morning!! LOL It's just that I'd never seen or heard of it before...'Miss Oblivious' speaking! ^_^

      It's too bad that I didn't know too!...because I love tacos!!...

     Anyway!...I'm called the taco whisperer...affectionately, by my hubby...because I never met an item a taco wouldn't like!...or a sauce that a taco couldn't use! ^_^ Imagine a pork chop taco, with egg salad, fresh ripe tomatoes, and fire sauce!....YUM!!!...I call it my 'Fiery Eggo Choppo Taco'! ^_^ ...

     I could tell you of other combinations...involving meatloaf, french fries, boiled eggs, and country ribs!...but if you're not a taco whisperer like me, it might be too much for your stomach! LOL My stomach...'wibbly' as it is these days, can still take it!! ^_^

     So, I'm off to think of taco concoctions for dinner, and other stuff to make me smile...I can use all the smile-able stuff I can get my hands on this week! It's not gonna end with a smile. :-( {You know what I mean if you've read my previous couple of weeks of posts.} But I'm smiling today...and on a Tuesday no less!! ^_^

'Thankful For The Cute', Tuesday!...And I Might Wanna Dance!

      It's Tuesday!...or, as I'm calling it today, 'Thankful For The Cute' day! :-) Relax though, I'm not gonna get all 'cute crazy'!! ^_^ I'm just gonna get slightly 'cute un-stable'! LOL And yes!...I have to!! ^_^

      As you probably have heard...from me over the last two posts!...I've been having some not-so-great issues going on....*boooooo...hisssssss!*...Oh, if only I had diamonds on the soles of my shoes!! LOL...And even though my day yesterday started off in a calm and peaceful place, the day slowly went downhill...then climbed back up the hill...did a few roller coaster moves...and went back to calm by the time I went to bed!! Whew!! O.O

      There was mail announcing wonderful prospects for our finances...a friend's panicked phone call because of a family emergency...another death...*sigh*...and all manner of other thing...that I'll spare you the details about...Trust me, you don't wanna be crying all over your keyboard, and then jumping for joy and banging your head on the ceiling!! LOL Yep!...It was that crazy of an emotional day!!!

      Thus....I NEED cute!! :-))

Why Do I Like It?!...Because I Do!

      Is it Wednesday already?! WOW! The days are melting one into the other! O_O Part of the reason is because I'm having a few health issues right now. The other part is because the weather is acting wacky. One day there's sun. The next day...pouring rain. The day after that, sun...AND pouring rain! UGH! But thankfully today we have sun!!!...I don't know how long it will last, but WHATEVER!!! :-]

      Let's talk about art! :-) Are you an art connoisseur...as I consider my crazy crocheting self to be! ^_^ If so, you probably like a certain kind of art, right?!.....Why?! In other words, do you know why you like what you like?!

      I don't know why I like what I like....I just know that I do! :-) And my 'likes' are all over the place. I even like the painting of the man in the art gallery looking at someone else's painting!! :-) (in the header photo)

      I love this one for a lot of reasons. First being the humor of it! I mean how can you not love a painting with worms and fish having bandaids on them! Ha! Ha!...But I also love all of the details. The puffy clouds in the sky. The young man's ankle socks. The piers wooden stakes going down under the water. The dragonfly on the floatie!! :-) There's even fish in the distance floating around. Great work!!

The Rain Disappeared!...Sam And Dave And "I Thank You!"

        Isn't that the saddest sight you've ever seen?! :-( ...Okay, I know it's not really the saddest sight you've ever seen in your life!, but if you're like me and you plan the few hours you can force yourself to sleep around the schedule for the French Open, and then you turn to the channel and see this....it "is" the saddest sight you've ever seen...short of yourself in the mirror after days and days of no sleep! LOL
      ********** The tennis court was completely covered at Roland Garros...due to rain?!...Well, that's what was happening yesterday morning when I turned on the TV at my usual time, thinking I was about to watch 'Ladies day' semi-final tennis matches...By the way, the above photo, and the ones below, were taken from the rolandgarros(dot)com website.}
        I was not in the mood for replay matches of tennis games I watched intensely just the other day! Grrrr!...And thankfully I didn't have to worry about it that long. It was only about 45 minutes to an hour later and I was watching the first LIVE match! :-) Samantha Stosur and Sara Errani!...What a great match! Much, much better than I thought it was gonna be!
       Sara took the first set....SHOCKING! But then Samantha routed her in the second set!...I thought, "Oh Well, it was a nice run at the Open, Sara!"...But then....O_O...Sara got her fight back in the third set! 

             All 5-foot-4 of her was "in it to win it!" I think her positive "I'm-gonna-win-this-thing!" attitude took Samantha by surprise!...And then there she was in the last game of the last set, serving to win....and she did!!!!....WIN I mean!! :-) Congratulations Sara Errani!! :-)


       Then the second match started, and the sun came out....YAY!!...But unfortunately, the wind kicked up like crazy too! Petra Kvitova and Maria Sharapova had to battle each other...and the wind. The balls, their hair, and the red clay of the court kept blowing left, right, up, down...everywhere!
       What a great day for Maria's serve to behave itself! :-] She served great!...Maybe it was the knowledge that she would now be 'Number One' in the world after this tournament...or the determination to win the French Open and finally complete her career Grand Slam, making her one of only a few women that have ever won all four major tournaments! (The U.S. Open, The Australian Open, Wimbledon and The French Open) Maria has already won the other three...and she's never been a fan of the clay of Roland Garros....ever!
         Maria probably thought that after missing months and months of play due to shoulder surgery, she would never get back to where she was at one time in her career....Number One in the world...Frankly, if I could play half as good as her I wouldn't care what number they gave me! ^_^ But I'm not her. I'm a poetry-writing crocheter...This is clearly more important to her.
       Anyway, long story short, Maria was all over Petra!!! As we say in my house: "She beat her like she stole something!" LOL 

       Congratulations Maria!! :-) On to Saturday! I can't wait to see which one of these ladies, Maria Sharapova or Sara Errani, has more fight! :-) 

       Now, for today, it's gonna be 'Men's Day'! Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer are gonna be battling...

     ...and also 'Baby Boy', Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer...

        It's gonna be another great day of tennis!.....if it doesn't rain, that is. O_O Has anybody seen the weather report for France today?!!! **********

      As always though, tennis is not the only thing going on in my head...despite what it may look like! :-] ...I've been listing new stuff like crazy in my Wuglyees Etsy shop...I've been crocheting rings...I even got the cuff links I ordered, and I've been working on cuff link lapel pins for men! :-) Oh, the boutonniere section of my shop is gonna be soooo full! :-)
      I've also, in the long 'awake' hours (Yes, I'm still sleeping in spurts O_O), been looking at all of the creativity of the shop owners on Etsy. Wanna see what I found?!...

       Besides this, me and hubby went on an early 'Virtual Date Night' this week...to the Boston Garden. We went to see the Boston Celtics play the Miami Heat! Woohoo!! ^_^ We 'THOUGHT' we'd be there for Boston's winning game that would take them to the finals. O_O Little did we know that we'd be there for a big Miami Heat spanking!!! LOL....O-U-C-H, Miami!!!...That's alright! We're coming to Miami on Saturday. And just so you know, Miami, we plan to take the win out of your sails...for good...then!! :-)...It was a good thing we had some ice cream in the freezer waiting for us when we got home! :-) There needed to be something good about our date that wasn't green! (Boston Celtics' colors) ^_^

        And for those of you who are curious like me and wondered what song that was that they used for the cute semi-animated intro with all of the basketball players seeming to be singing in some old school group....I found it on Youtube! ^_^ It's Sam and Dave's "I Thank You"!...
