Things To Do In The Rain!

https://www.etsy.com/listing/171711400/tonka-pound-puppy-brown-and-white-stubb?ref=favs_view_4

Yes...it is...RAINING! O_O After that beautiful day of sun yesterday too!!...And this weather has the nerve to be threatening to turn to sleet...that would be cold rain mixed with 'the white stuff'...tonight too!! Ugh!...Now you understand why I led my post with the 'Pound Puppy', right?! :-)
That cute little guy represents the 'non-energetic' nature of my day going forward...After my nice breakfast in bed that hubby made for me today...and my hot green tea! (no lemon...no honey...no sugar! ^_^) It''s gonna be a 'take-it-as-it-comes' kinda day!

What else would I be doing in the rain?!...What do you do?!...I know what I 'used to' do! I used to go for walks in the rain...hubby and I had a specific area...a beautifully manicured graveyard...that we used to like to walk through in the rain. Everything looked so lush and green!...not the gravestones! We didn't look at them that closely...We're not weird or anything!! LOL We just wanted to hold hands and be wet, without anybody bothering us! ^_^

One of the other things I like to do when it's rainy is eat! :-) ...

https://www.etsy.com/listing/154804598/kitchen-art-fork-spoon-knife-wooden?ref=favs_view_3

... Who doesn't, right?!...But I like to eat soups and stews and stuff!...In fact, I have some potato bacon soup lined up for lunch today!! :-) It's soooo good!!...Actually I've been eating different soups for the last week or two! And I was worried that, because of the potato, and it's potential sugar raising ability, I might have to give it up. O_O But my sugar levels have been really low!...even in the late afternoon! (The preferred count, I was told, is suppose to be around 125. Mine has been between 95 and 97 every day! O_O) I'm not sure what it means, but I still have to keep doing the blood-stick tests for another week before the doctor re-evaluates it...WHATEVER!! ^_^)

Another thing I love to do in the rain is watch the birds, rabbits, squirrels, foxes...Yes! I said foxes!! ^_^...cats, and neighbor kids stroll through the backyard. :-) And yesterday I noticed that there are big buds on the trees too!!...
https://www.etsy.com/listing/186232326/tree-art-acrylic-painting-cherry?ref=favs_view_5
https://www.etsy.com/listing/186232326/tree-art-acrylic-painting-cherry?ref=favs_view_5

Pretty soon there will be leaves and flowers on the trees! :-) ... As long as I don't see a bear or a moose stroll through the backyard I'll be good! O_O Did you hear about the woman who was in her screened in porch and was attacked by a black bear?! YIKES!!...He clawed and bit her pretty bad, and was trying to drag her into the woods!! O_O She fought hard, and he let her go!! WHEW!!!
And a lady found a moose in her backyard in a town near here!...A MOOSE!!! O_O...He had jumped her fence and was hanging out near her children's swing set!!!....NO THANK YOU!! I don't want those kind of surprises in my backyard!! LOL Just give me a chirp...a song...a squirrel squabble here or there. THAT'S ALL!!! ^_^

      Something else you can do while it's raining...And I LOVE doing this!...is play dress-up!! :-) Don't play dress-up outside 'IN' the rain! :-)) But you can go through your closet, see what still fits, what you need to throw away, and how you can wear some things in a different way than how you've been wearing them! :-) {I started wearing one of my scarves as a scarf hat instead of a neck scarf after one of my dress-up periods!! :-)}
And just think of all of the accessories you can play with!! :-) ...

I also used to like going walking through the mall on rainy days...window shopping. Or going to visit friends. Or going out to eat. Or just staying at home listening to music and shadow dancing with yourself!! I LOVE home stuff! ^_^ ...

https://www.etsy.com/listing/172480522/handpainted-plywood-money-box-coin-box?ref=favs_view_2

On 'this' rainy day it's tea with hubby...watching the rerun of 'The Voice', which I missed last night!...and doing some studying. :-] Notice that I didn't say 'crocheting'! I'm not gonna crochet today. I have about seven items already made that need to be photographed and listed. If I get enough light in here today, I may do that. But it's not a big priority. It's rainy. And I'm a 'Pound Puppy'...Remember! ^_^
You all have a good day too!...Rainy or not! :-)

'Wacky Wednesday'.....Thursday!

What a day it was yesterday at Wimbledon!!!! O_O And I'll tell you right now, if you don't wanna know what happened because you have it taped to look at later, consider this your SPOILER ALERT!!!!...because I'm gonna talk about it in a minute!...Yes I am!! ^_^
In the meantime, let me share the few cute things I found on Etsy, and the custom boutonnieres I worked on last night! :-) First, the 'eye-catchers'...and 'nose'-catchers!! ^_^ ...

Isn't that a cool art card (above)?!! :-) Look at the detail...the little men hanging on to each dandelion spur!!...*Teehee*...And below, the detail of the feet, sneakers, and butterfly!! :-) ...

I love finding new and creative card shops!! :-)

And look at this cute music box (below)!!...

I don't see music boxes around that much anymore. When I was a kid, everybody I knew over the age of 15 had one!! :-] ... The music and flowers on top of this one really make it special! :-)

And then there's this really creative and sassy necklace (below)!...

I want these kind of necklaces...unusual and creative...to get more popular!....Then maybe...I hope, I hope, I hope! ^_^...my crochet necklaces can get a showing too! ^_^ ... The little dress in this necklace (above) is adorable!...but the shoes....Ah!...they were an inspired addition to the necklace! :-)

Moving on!...I have to talk about how thankful I am that 'ALL OF A SUDDEN my shop is getting sales again!! YAY!!! And not a moment too soon!! I was beginning to think that maybe I was gonna have to get out of the crochet boutonniere business, and get into the homemade Shepherd's pie and custom cheesecake business in order to make some fast money!! ^_^
Okay....not really. Who needs kitchen and food inspectors in their life on top of everything else?....NOT ME!! LOL...But if I had to.....I would've!!!!! ^_^ Instead I have loyal and faithful repeat customers!!! :-) ...Better!....MUCH better!!! ^_^
Here's one of the orders....done! :-) ... 3 crochet button boutonnieres, in the colors chosen by the customer!...

I have these color boutonnieres already in the shop, with the fold-able metal fastener on back. Upon request though, I customize them with buttons or a brooch pin on the back of them too!...and in whatever colors needed...You can check out my Wuglyees shop boutonnieres HERE if you're interested.
I'm still working on another custom order, and I've got a shipment to go out this morning also, so I gotta go!! O_O ... First though, let me tell you about the 'Wacky Wednesday' at Wimbledon yesterday!!! I'd never seen anything like it....EVER!...and I probably never will again!
As if it hadn't been bad enough on Tuesday that my 'baby boy', Rafael Nadal (#5 ranked), lost in the first round to a player I had never even seen play before, Steve Darcis, yesterday's Tuesday fare was waaaaaaaay worse! O_O
A bunch of people 'retired' from play due to injuries. Here's the list:

-John Isner (#18 ranked)
-Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (#6 ranked)
-Marin Cilic (#10 ranked)
-Victoria Azarenka (#2 ranked)

And then top players, who you thought were gonna be around until at least the semi-finals at the end of next week, started dropping like flies!! O_O Or should I say...started getting beaten like dusty rugs!!!...Here's the list:

-Caroline Wozniacki (#9 ranked), was beaten by Petra Cetkovska
-Lleyton Hewitt  was beaten by Dustin Brown
-Ana Ivanovic (#12 ranked) was beaten by Eugenie Bouchard
-Maria Sharapova (#3 ranked) was beaten by Michelle de Brito
-Roger Federer (#3 ranked) was beaten by Sergiy Stakhovsky

All of this happened in ONE DAY!!! O_O

If you don't usually watch tennis this won't mean anything to you. But if you do...your chin is probably on the ground just like mine!!!...I've got a whole week and a half of tennis to go...and I don't have many left to root for!!...But no worries...I'll find somebody!!! ^_^
Besides...the losers are headed home!! That's probably not so bad considering how busy their schedules are week to week usually!!
And me?!...I may be so busy crocheting that I don't notice anyway!!!....Yeah....RIGHT!!! Ha! Ha!...We'll see! :-) Have a good day everybody!!

A Boutonniere In The Hand......!

I've got all kinds of idioms floating around my head today...'A Bird In The Hand Is Worth Two In The Bush'....or, in my case, a boutonniere in the hand is worth two boutonnieres in the hand! LOL

The two boutonnieres I'm showing you today are the two I just finished and listed in my shop. I'm still on a 'single-color-in-the-middle' kick! ^_^ This one has steel gray in the middle...

I'm talking about boutonnieres because of another idiom that's floating around in my head...'When You Don't Have Anything Nice To Say, Don't Say Anything At All!'....*birds chirping* :-)

Yeah, I'm still not feeling that great. But don't worry, I'm not gonna tell you all the gory details...Trust me. You don't wanna hear the details anyway!! LOL

Hopefully one day soon I'll be back to my old self...talking too much, and spurting out crochet items like a crazy machine! ^_^ ... but for now, I'm laying low and just trying to get better...In fact, I'm gonna stop talking about it and just show you my other boutonniere! ^_^

This one has topaz in the center (or, as some would call it, a light yellow)...

They're both in my shop right now. You can click on the photos to go over to my shop and look around if you like....Please do! :-)

      Me?!....I'm 'sick as a dog'...another idiom! ^_^ ... and I'm going back to bed!...Have a good day, everybody! :-]

National Breakfast Week...And Other Stuff!

Forget the fact that it's national breakfast week....Yeah, Really, it is! :-) ...and forget the fact that I woke up hungry again....Look at this photo in the header! It's gorgeous!!! It's simple and yet thought-provoking...like hmmmmm, what room is this, with all of that gorgeous light?, and is that all they're having for breakfast?! ^_^
It's not what I intended to talk about this morning, but I saw the photo after I heard on the morning news that this is 'National Breakfast Week'......and off my brain went! ^_^ I mean, I've been talking about pancakes and waffles for weeks and days!...and I've also shared photos of my oatmeal and peaches, bacon and eggs, etc. And did I say I've been talking about and sharing photos of my pancakes?...Blueberry pancakes?! ^_^
So, now I'm wondering...what kind of breakfast eater are YOU?!... O_O ... Me?!...I'm a leisurely eater. Breakfast can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half!...or more, if I'm crocheting something in between! ^_^ I mean, take a bite...sip some tea...wash your hands...crochet a little...etc, repeat!...What's the hurry! :-)
I'm still eating my breakfast right now from this morning! :-) Only, I'm typing in between instead of crocheting! :-)) ...One bite at a time on my scrambled eggs and ham...

...and oatmeal, peaches and cinnamon! YUM! :-) ...

That could be why doing this post is taking so long! O_O...Sorry...Anyway!...I know that not everybody is like me when it comes to breakfast! Some people like to grab a cuppa...tea, hot cocoa, apple cider, or coffee!...and go, go ,go!!...

They have busy lives and don't have time to hang around eating and sipping 'mosely' (slowly) on a cup of coffee or tea! ^_^ They've got things to do and places to be, and eating is something they can do on the run, while doing their things or going where they need to be!...Is that YOU?!...Are you an on the run, 'sippy-cup-with-a-close-spout, toting-a-breakfast-burrito' kind of breakfast eater?!...
...Or are you, like my husband, a 'grazer'...you know, you eat whenever the feeling hits you, or whenever you happen to be in the kitchen or somewhere that they have food! ^_^ ...

I'm surprised that my hubby isn't bigger than he is, considering how 'much' he likes to graze! His 'saving grace' though is probably the fact that most of the time what we have in the house to graze on is 'grazably good' food! ^_^ Some nuts...an apple...a few Cheerios...or some 'trail mix'! :-) ... Or else leftovers! And our leftovers are usually not really bad stuff...We had leftover pizza for dinner last night that was full of fresh bell pepper and onions, mushrooms, and tomatoes!....Yes, it had sausage and pepperoni on it too, :-)) but certainly not enough to put anybody in the danger zone!...Places are getting too 'stingy' with the meats these days to put anybody in the danger zone!! O_O
Anyway, that's all I have to say about breakfast for today...especially considering it's not what I was gonna talk about anyway! ^_^ I still would like to know your thoughts on it though, as to what kind of breakfast eater YOU are! :-]
For now I'm gonna share a couple of the things I found cute and interesting...and 'call it a day'! ^_^ ...

     It's 'A Day'! LOL ... Have a good one, Y'all! :-)

Guys....WOW!!

Are these the coolest cufflinks you've ever seen?! :-) I LOVE them! They make you wanna tell a story with your hands, don't they! ^_^ Which reminds me...I was suppose to tell you the story about the post office the other day...and I forgot! O_O Oops!...sorry...And now I have another story to tell too, after yesterday!
But before I go there, let me tell you that if you type "sale11" at checkout for the cufflinks, or whatever you get from this shop, you can get 10% off your order! :-) ...And considering how reasonably priced they are already, I think it's a FA-BU deal!!
Speaking of FA-BU,  as I'm telling you my stories, I wanna share some 'For Men' items I found on Etsy!...

Both of my stories involve my hubby. He's my 'Go To' guy! :-) He's the one who does the cooking around here now. He's the one that runs the errands. And he's the one that goes back and forth to the post office with my items that need shipping!...This last one he does sometimes twice a day, depending on the amount of items I sell, and whether the sales come close together or at opposite ends of the day!
He's been doing it even more regularly lately. So much so that the post office staff know him now! :-) ... Yeah, they know "HIM"...but they don't know "ME" I found out! Or rather, they don't know me enough to know how to pronounce the name of my shop, even though they've been telling people about it! ^_^ ..."It's Wuglyees....WUH-GUH-LEEZ!!" LOL

***Stopping for a second to say...I don't have an iPhone, but I sure remember the curly corded type of phone! :-) I think this (above) docking station that looks like an old rotary phone is so cool!!***

Back to my story...So when my hubby walked into the post office, a lady smiled at him and yelled out: "Woo-ugly-yeez!"...O_O...WOO-UGLY-YEEZ?!!!!..My hubby started laughing, and then he had to give her a quick lesson in how to pronounce my shop name! ^_^ ...Imagine...all this time, people at the post office have been telling everybody to shop for their crochet needs at 'Woo-ugly-yeez'!!! ^_^
Maybe that's not funny to you, but it sure is to me!! ^_^ ... Maybe you'll find the other story funnier! :-] ...after I show you a few more 'guy' items!...

The other story was funny...but not so funny!...Hubby had a doctor's appointment yesterday. Just a check-up to talk about the bloodwork he had done to check his cholesterol...which is down by more than 40 points, by the way! :-) He's on a medication that requires the doctor to check his liver regularly to make sure it's not being adversely affected...He's good! :-)
The funny part was not his doctor visit with the two medical students that were being trained by his doctor...and that they were being trained ON HIM!!...although if this was his regular check up that could have gotten REALLY funny! ^_^ My hubby won't even let me do a foot rub on him because he's so ticklish!! Imagine two strangers poking and prodding!!! LOL
No, the funny part happened when he left the doctor's office. On his way home the car started to buck like a rodeo horse going up a hill!....*puff! puff!....POOF!* ^_^ He knew what the problem was immediately....NO GAS!!...And it was freezing cold out too.....And it was already after 5 p.m., dark, and we had a meeting at 7 p.m!!
He left the house for his 2:45 p.m. appointment and I worked on some cleaning up in my shop. At around 4:30 I started to wonder what was taking so long. The last 'talking' appointment he had took about a half an hour. I didn't know about the medical students...Anyway, around 4:45 p.m. I figured I'd better take my nap for the meeting. Otherwise I'd be tired and not a good listener! ^_^
I woke up at 6:05 p.m. O_O The house was still dark...{I fogot to mention that my light bulb next to the bed blew as I was turning it off before my nap!}...Where was my hubby?! O_O ...Then my 'worried wife' kicked in..."Did somebody konk him across the head when he was heading to his car?! O_O...Did he have an accident and go over the side of one of these mountain roads?!...Did somebody kidnap him for his unemployment check?!!O_O" ...Ha! Ha! I know that if that happened...the unemployment check thing I mean...within about two minutes after they actually saw the amount of the check, he would really be in trouble...for wasting their time!!!!! LOL
Anyway...after a little while I really got worried!...enough so that I had to call my girlfriend for a bit of reasoning and to help me stay calmed down! O_O ....But just as I started to 'spaz out' on her...the light came on in the other room!...YAY!!! He was alive!!! ^_^

He came in all frozen, in a hurry, and irritated with himself! Apparently as soon as he realized he was out of gas he heard my voice in his head saying: "Don't forget to put gas in the car. You remember what happened the last time!!"......and...."Please don't forget to take your cell phone!...and get some time for it!!" ^_^ ....Kinda funny that my voice is in his head when I didn't say one word!! ^_^ ...Oh, did I forget to tell you that he had no cell phone with him?! :-)
He ended up having to walk...because he had no phone to call anybody to come and take him....with his gas can, to the gas station.....then back to the car....and then go BACK to the gas station again!!...The little gas stop place wouldn't let him use the phone...He was NOT happy!!...But he got home safe...not kidnapped! ^_^...and made it to the meeting on time too! :-) ...Lesson learned and story now told!! :-)) ... He says that this WILL NOT happen to him ever again!!!!!.....Ummmmm....only time will tell if this is true! ^_^
Okay....a couple more guy things and I'm outta here to wrap and ship a package!...

I'm afraid the popcorn seasonings is already sold, guys! :-( But I'm sure they'll have some more in the shop soon! It looks like it's a good seller! :-)

And, Oh Yeah, I've been working on some 'guy items' myself! :-)A little red and black variegated boutonniere...

    ...and a 3-color one...

I also started a matching lapel pin in these color too...but this is as far as I've gotten with that one so far...

I'll finish it later today...on my 'HOME date'!...Not a virtual today. It's for real real!! LOL This week has been so hectic and busy, we just needed to stay put and get some rest today!!...Imagine.....us going nowhere but home, with all of that gas in the car too! ^_^ ...Have a good weekend, Y'all!! :-)
