The Hooded Baby Blanket Saga Continues......!

     As you can see, I'm in the mood to change colors on my hooded baby blanket now. :-)) I just COULD NOT crochet another row of pink!!!! This kind of shell/popcorn stitch is taking FOREVER to crochet! O_O
     I was suppose to keep going until I had 28 inches of this pink, and then make a pink hood also. Uhhhh.....NO!! ^_^ I'm an Ugly Wuglyee kind of girl. I just can't be 'NORMAL' on every project, can I?!! ^_^ So, there's a lot of pink, a bit of white, some accent lilac, a touch of coral,......
 

     ...and I added a smidge of brown, and a dollop of dusty wheat.....SO FAR! ^_^ 
 

     Hopefully I'll have it all done by the weekend, and if I can get 'Baby Wuglyee' to model it for me, I'll show it to you when it's all done! ^_^ Unfortunately, 'Baby Wuglyee' is not that happy with me these days...after I organized everything and had to find a new 'HOME' for him too! LOL
 

     I told him to talk to Peter Walsh!!! :-)) Oh! If looks could kill....'Baby Wuglyee' would have me 6 feet, and a NEW HOME, underground by now!! LOL

     I don't look in his direction anymore!! LOL Instead, I just look at the beautiful smile on the face of my satisfied customer's face! :-) ...
 

     Wasn't that nice of her to send me this photo?! :-) I love my customers!!...few though they may be these days! ^_^

      I know I was waaaaaay late getting my blog post up yesterday! I was kinda having a bad day. Long story....Moving on! ^_^ But I'm here today. Feeling much better. And I've got goodies to share!! ^_^

      I thought that maybe you could use some chocolate and nuts! :-) YUM!...I sure could've used these yesterday. Not for medicinal reasons, but just because!! LOL They would've given me something to smile about while I was hurting and not feeling so hot!...And nuts are good for you, I hear! ^_^

      And do you have kids that like wooden blocks?!...If so, they'll go crazy for this!!...

      I know!...it's not a wooden block! LOL But I played with wooden blocks when I was a kid, and I was always turning my colorful "D" block into an airplane and flying it around in the air. At least if I had this wooden helicopter the whole thing would've made sense!! ^_^

Well, We Have To Warm Ourselves...Don't We?!

     Usually, on Pancake Sunday morning, around this time, I'm sitting somewhere scarfing down a stack of pancakes! But due to my stomach not tolerating too much of the bread products these days, I've decided to save my 'scarfing' for smaller items...like a nacho or two, or a peanut butter cookie or two...or three. ^_^

      So, breakfast will be more of a warming ordeal today...Not a 'fill-me-up' ordeal. And I'm already sipping on my green tea with honey and lemon right now!...while wishing it was a cup of earl grey tea, with cream and sugar! LOL...(I've updated my warming preference a bit to a more 'refined' palate taste! ^_^) 

      And "No!"...I'm not gonna take any of your time this morning telling you about tennis...Or showing off any more of my crochet lapel pins...Uhhhhhh....but that's just for TODAY! :-) The reason is because I don't have the time! I have an early meeting today...(And 'just-saying' WOW!!! O_O What a great Watchtower magazine article we're studying today!!!!!)

     They're so cute!!! :-) And yes, they're fun too!...I mean our kids we could be bare-fingered and frozen handed...but why!... when they're little 'digits' can be warm, and they can have fun with yarn and animals?! ^_^ I mean they have to warm themselves anyway, don't they?! ^_^

The Ants Are At It Again!!

       Happy Saturday, Everybody!...The sun is shining...even at Roland Garros...so, it's looks like it's gonna be a good day! :-) And thanks to a little 'finagling', it's gonna be a good day for my little hummingbirds at the feeder too! ^_^

       Yeah, we had another little 'incident'...with the ants! Grrrr!...I guess having that hummingbird nectar just hanging there, swinging in the wind like a carrot on a string in front of a horse, was a little too much for them! LOL They saw an opportunity and they just had to take it!!!...the little acrobats!!

      Those of you who follow the blog regularly probably remember the ant 'situation' we had going on here year before last! Ugh! Those ants were driving my poor little hummingbirds crazy!!...Well, we 'thought' we were long past that ever happening again, since the feeder isn't hanging on a tree branch anymore. It's hanging from the over-hang of the house! :-)

       But...those creative acrobatic ants used the blowing of the wind, and the over-growth of leaves on the tree, as an opportunity to get to the feeder!! O_O And once they got to it...they organized..and they were everywhere!!!

      I was so surprised to see the ants all over the feeder, and to see my tiny hummingbird friends hovering and darting in an odd pattern...odder than their usual left-right-up-down pattern, I mean. :-] Something had to be done...and hubby did it!...He broke off the 'bridge-to-feeder-tree-branch' they were using, and used the water spray bottle to get the other ones that were still on the feeder...OFF!...SO THERE!!!...Right?!...

       Well....mostly right! :-] A little later in the day hubby noticed one lone 'large' ant going around and around the feeder!! O_O How did he get on there?!...

     When we noticed that there were a lot of ants going up and down the branch and leaves, where hubby had broken the branch off, we realized what had happened...Apparently one lone steely, acrobatic ant had been still on the feeder...underneath somewhere...when hubby sprayed the others off! O_O Now he was all alone, with no relief coming!

    We could see all of the ants, with their feelers working non-stop, trying to figure it out....trying to figure it out......TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT!!!! :-)) So hubby put them out of their misery by pulling out the water spray bottle and knocking the lone acrobat off!! ^_^ Once he was gone...so were the rest of the organized acrobatic team! :-)

      I guess they know when to give something up as lost! :-] But I don't mind telling you that every time there's a strong wind in the backyard now, hubby is at the window...checking!! LOL Those little acrobatic ants are still wielding power over him, and they're nowhere around!! ^_^ Oh, if only he could turn them all into pretty yard decoration!! ^_^ ...

It's Friday Date Night Day...And Our "Silly" Wish List!

         According to the dictionary, to 'wish' is to have a desire for something that's unattainable...Now, as a general rule, my mind doesn't deal well with 'unattainables'! My feeling is usually that if it's unattainable, that means that it's just unattainable 'NOW'! :-) I see possibility in just about anything!
    But when I was talking to my hubby before we got up this morning, I realized that there were a few things that I was wishing about that just might NOT be attainable now or ever!...and we wish they were! ^_^
      So, since it's 'Friday Date Night' day....and because...Hey! I don't have anything else to talk about right now...or should I say, nothing that I 'want' to talk about!...I figured talking about our 'silly' wish lists was as good as anything! ^_^
     And when I say 'silly' that means that things as serious as world peace and an end to prejudice are off the table for discussion. I certainly wish those things existed now...and they don't!...but they're on my 'attainable-in-the-near-future' list. :-)  
       For conversation today, I'm gonna name my three 'silliest' wishes, and then three of my hubby's...which still have me scratching my head. :-))

1. I wish that feelings had colors, and that the colors showed on people when they were feeling a particular way. In other words, if somebody was feeling happy they'd be all kinds of bright color shades of the rainbow! :-) ... And if they were sad, they'd be a charcoal gray...or pewter color!...I mean, wouldn't you just like to know what mood people were really in when you were dealing with them?!..."Ooooo! The boss is mad today. Look at that fire engine red!! O_O"...."Awww. Sally needs cheering up today. She's showing her blues."

2. I wish that husband's had a ticker tape scroll going across their foreheads, so that when you said stuff to them you could see what they were 'really' thinking...not what they 'tell you' they're thinking! LOL...And maybe we could put a 'Program Note' button on it!...so that wives could insert things that they want them to hear more than once!!...in color! LOL

3. I wish that all tasty fast food was good for you!...I mean why is it that tofu and green leafy vegetables are the ones carrying all the nutrients! ^_^ Wouldn't you love to see a commercial for pizza that said: 'Pizza! For the healthy, on-the-go, person!!' :-)

       And here are my husband's three wishes:
 

1. He wished that cars could fold up into a briefcase when you got to where you were going, so that when you couldn't find a parking space, you could get out, hit a button, the car would fold up into a briefcase, and you could pick it up and go to your appointment. Afterward...you could go back outside, push another button, have the car pop out, and you could take off! :-) ... But, of course, my husband being who he is, this conversation went on and on...into designer Rolls Royce briefcases, and the ability to take different briefcases with you, so that you could get to your appointment in a mid-size car, and leave in a luxury car...depending on where your next appointment was! LOL...Sounded like the 'Jetsons' to me!! ^_^

2. He wished that people had the ability to grow their missing body parts back, like lizards!....Uhhh. This one had me scratching my head!..until he got serious on me, and said he was thinking of the people in Boston who lost their limbs in the bombing :-( ...I'm glad he was thinking of something thoughtful like that...Not like me, who was thinking about maybe having people grow 'extra' body parts!!...brains for instance! LOL Some people need an extra one of those!!

3. He wished that animals could talk!...Not the mimicking kinda talking that some animals do, after being fed treats and prompted by their owners...but 'real' talking! :-] I assured him that I didn't wanna hear that!! LOL Could you imagine the repetitive conversation that birds and dogs would be having?! O_O YIKES!!! They would drive humans NUTS!!!....Hmmm...wonder what we've been doing to them with our conversation?! LOL...Anyway! I think this wish of hubby's came from seeing this video the other day...

     He was sure the lion was having a conversation with one of the other lions a few minutes before this...about getting lunch! :-)) 

 

     My baby! :-) He has his own way of thinking about things. That's why I like traveling this life with him. It's never boring...and it's always a colorful journey. Especially on Fridays! :-) Have a good day, Everybody! :-)
