Don't You Just Love Getting Good News?!!!

      I was having a pretty good Monday already, but I just got a phone call that took my Monday mood up a notch! :-) I'll tell you about it in a minute. First, I wanna share some work from some wonderful artists on Etsy!

      And yes, I 'do' call the ability to take a great photo..art! Especially considering my lack of artistic skill in the photo taking department! ^_^ Although I'll add a caveat to that statement...the caveat being that if I could bend down, and climb, and get myself into unusual positions on top of roofs or laying flat on the ground, etc., I would probably be a wonderful artist too!! ^_^ (At any rate, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it!! LOL)

      So, as I continue to talk...as I will anyway! ^_^ ...please take note of the beautiful artistic photos on the blog today. :-)

      Hey! Good news!...Hubby finally hung the hummingbird feeder up! :-) It looks so pretty, all red and yellow, hanging next to the tree with all of the new leaves coming in! :-) I wanted to take a picture of it, but....well...you know the story! LOL

     The other good news...the phone call I mentioned at the start of this post...is that the doctor called about my sugar levels. (I sent in my numbers for the last two weeks, after finger sticks two times a day.) He was very happy with my numbers. And he doesn't want me to continue doing the finger sticks every day anymore. YAY!!!! *Happy Dance!!!!* ^_^ He says to do the finger sticks twice a week, and record the results. Of course I said: " :-( Awwwww! Nooooooo!" I'm gonna miss sticking my fingers twice a day!!.......NO I DIDN"T!!!! ^_^ I said: "WHOOPEEEEEEEEE!!!" ^_^

      Now all of that sunshine outside makes sense!! :-) The fact that it's gonna rain tomorrow doesn't even matter! The only thing it's raining right now is LOVE!!!...

      Aren't they great?!! :-) If I bought as many artistic pieces as I love...Uhhh...(I don't have that much money anyway. Thankfully!! ^_^)...where in the world would I display them?!!!! O_O I'd need to buy a museum, add a lock and key, and a conveyer belt, so that I could go and visit my art work every day and get a big smile! :-) 

      That's a project for the future! ^_^ Right now I'm just concerned with the rest of this day, and what other good news I'm gonna get!! ^_^

Ears Talk!

     I don't usually lead my blog post with tennis talk on days 'after' a major tennis tournament has passed by. But I'm doing it this morning because I came across this cute tennis bracelet on Etsy this morning (in the header photo), and I just had to share! :-) Clearly, tennis is still floating around in the blue spaces of my brain! ^_^

     What I really wanna talk about today is not tennis, but ears...Ears Talk! :-) You know, those funny shaped things on the side of your head. Well...on humans they're on the side of the head! On animals they're......! O_O I digress.

      Back to ears!!...Have you, like myself, ever sometimes wondered if they're used for the purpose they were intended, or as much as they should be?! Case in point, when I'm trying to talk to my hubby while there is a football game on...Uhhhh...ears are useless! ^_^ He literally stops being able to hear!...Hear me, that is!...He does hear referee calls, quarterback plays being screamed, commentator's jokes, and football tackles!:-))... But not me asking him to pass the remote...or to get me a glass of water because I have a terrible...*cough! cough!*... tickle in my throat. (which he also didn't hear, even though I was hacking and coughing for 20 minutes!! LOL)

       Thankfully, I know for a fact that he does still hear though!!...^_^...as long as there's nothing beeping, flashing, or blinking at him, trying to distract him! Bad, bad gadgets!! ^_^ LOL...The truth is, my ears aren't as good as they used to be either! I'm finding that if I'm doing one thing...like writing a blog post, for instance...^_^...my husband can talk to me until he's blue!...and I don't hear him. O_O

      I used to be such an easy multi-tasker! Now...I'm like a one-handed jump-roper! LOL And when too much noise is going on I'm becoming like a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs...NERVOUS!! ^_^ Deaf...and nervous! Doesn't that make getting older sound appealing?!....NOT!! LOL

      But here's the good news!...my ears are still as cute as ever!! ^_^ Especially when they're dressed up and have cute earrings on 'em! :-) And I try to dress 'em up as much as I can...to distract away from that lack-of-hearing thing! LOL..."Oh, she's as deaf as can be...but those sure are cute earrings she's wearing!"...What I hear them say is....nothing! But I see them staring at me and smiling! ^_^ That is as it should be, I say!! ^_^

      One of these days, soon, I'll talk about my husband's eyes. His eyes that have an amazing 'glue'!...An amazing glue that makes them stick staringly to tv screens, football statistics that scroll across the bottom of the ESPN sports channel, and my forehead, when the story I'm telling him is not interesting to him, and is going on waaaay too long for his liking! ^_^ ... But 'eyes talk' is for another day!! LOL

       Today it's about ears. :-) Speaking of which, ears are good for music too! :-) I think I'll go and listen to some!! ^_^

Would You Like A Wig Story With Your Pancakes?!

       Us women can be so vain about our hair sometimes, can't we?!...And yes, I'm including myself! Case in point: I was lamenting to my husband just the other day about how I wasn't looking forward to combing out and washing my hair...AGAIN!...(because I'm ALWAYS 'lamenting' the hair process to him!...A-L-W-A-Y-S!!! LOL)...and he said: "Why don't you just cut it?! It would be a whole lot easier, wouldn't it?! O_O"

      All I could do was laugh at him!...Cut my hair?!!!...Then what would I have to complain about every time it's hair washing or combing time?!....Silly man! ^_^ It would be easier to think about cutting his 1960s style clothes up in the closet than cutting my hair!...which, of course, I would NEVER do!! LOL

     The hair subject came up though, because of hubby's mom. He called to invite her to go to the special talk at the Kingdom Hall (Jehovah's Witnesses' place of worship) with him today...(In case you wanna know, the title of the talk is "Does death end it all?")...and she said she wasn't sure, because she needs to wash her hair. Then she proceeded to tell him the long story about how she's thinking of getting a wig piece just for such occasions, because her hair is so hard to manage...

       Hubby had the phone on "speaker"...so I could hear their conversation...It was so funny listening to her talk about all of her hair issues! ^_^ I could sympathize!! I've had some of the same issues myself over the years!...as hubby's pointing at me, and silent hilarious laughter in my direction while mom was talking, proved! ^_^

      But then I got the chance to laugh when their conversation turned away from mom...and to hubby's father! O_O Wigs?....and his father, you ask?!.....YES!!! ^_^ Hubby said to his mom: "I'm sure you can find a decent wig. Everybody is wearing them these days! Not like back in the 60s when dad bought his!....What?!! ^_^

      I was crocheting and trying to avoid hubby's laughter and pointing, but at that very moment...the moment that hubby said 'dad bought his wig'...I dropped my crochet hook and started silent laughing myself! ^_^ Memories started flooding back to mind of old time men singing groups in the south, with their peg leg pants and processed hair! LOL

      Hubby told me the whole story when he got off the phone. He says that a neighbor man who lived down the alley from them when he was growing up used to wear wigs all the time. One day he would be as bald as a cue ball, and the next day he had wavy hair! ^_^

       Apparently hubby's dad thought this was a 'good' thing...because the next thing they knew, dad came sauntering down to breakfast one morning looking like a lost 'Miracle' from 'Smokey Robinson and the Miracles'!...and hubby says all they heard was ♫ Tears of a clown ♫! ^_^

        The wig he had bought was just like the one on the top right below...

       ...and considering that he was bald on the top of his head, with kinky hair around the side, it was truly a 'miracle' to see him sitting across the table, and looking like this, at breakfast! ^_^

     Hubby says the wig didn't last long though. Mom said to him: "You look ridiculous!" and hubby says that was the end of that! ^_^

     Now, when and if mom buys one of these wigs, or wig pieces, I hope everybody keeps their comments to themselves!! ^_^ Having a bad hair day is no reason to miss a good meeting!!...Not when you can have 'miracle' hair in a bag!! LOL

     Moving on!! ^_^ ... I've got pancakes, leftover hot wings, and grits to eat! ^_^...

         ...and tons of crocheting to do, after the meeting...

Shades Of Blue...And Banana Bread!

     "Wug!...You're not suppose to lead your blog post with your 'worst' photo!" LOL...I know! I know!...but since I couldn't get a 'good' photo of Tina (the headless model) from the backyard this morning...*It's very shady near the house, and too much snow to go out further!*...I had to get the photos I could!

      Can you see the nuances of the shades of blue in the scarf...country blue and blueberry blocks?! O_O ...Oh well, I'll have to take some more photos of it later this afternoon. {If you're looking for a scarf, you can check my Wuglyees shop HERE...Just saying! LOL}
        Let me show you some photos I took of it while I was making it though!...

       You can see the colors now, right?! :-] ... It's still not showing them perfectly, but better than that shady photo...for sure!
        I'm gonna list the custom scarf for the customer later on...It'll sit next to the other purple boutonniere I listed yesterday...AGAIN! :-)

      The only other thing I have to share this morning is....BANANA BREAD!! :-) ...

     My thoughtful girlfriend brought it with her when she came for a visit yesterday!!!...

 

    It's soooo good...by itself or, as I'm having it this morning, toasted...with a little bit of cream cheese on it! :-) YUM!!!....What is it with me sharing all of my food with you lately?! O_O

It's Bound To Get Better....Right?!

         Okay....I'm breaking new ground here people! Whoever leads their post with a 'bad' photo?!....I do, that's who! ^_^ I'm trying to make a point. Roll with me for a minute on this one. :-]
      We always, always, always break our heads trying to take the most perfect photos....to get them at the right angle...to shade them just right....to make sure they're sharp enough...and that the color is vivid enough, etc...etc....etc.!! But today I want to show you my 'bad'!!! LOL
     My fuzzed up...

        ...and out of focus flower pictures.

            My light-less backyard photos...

       My subject-less, daytime...(that looks like nighttime)...photos....

       My 'Almost got it!!' photos, where the detail in the leaf was good...but the bee was out of focus!

       So why?!....Why did I feel the need to show you my 'bad' today?!...To make a point that there is always room to improve!...ALWAYS!!
      Something happened yesterday...I'm going to spare you the details...that got me REALLY mad!!!! It was one of those kind of things where I had been enduring an on-going situation for a loooong time and ONE MORE KINK IN THE HOSE...so to speak...took me over the edge!!!
      When this 'situation' happened in the past I would excuse the individuals involved and remind myself that 'nobody's perfect'!....Then it would happen again and I would say: "They probably just forgot!"....It would happen again and I would say: "It's probably me. Let me do something to remind them."
       My excuses for the behavior went even farther.....'They have a lot on their plates.'....'They're trying their best!'....'I need to learn to be more patient.'...But yesterday I finally looked at how 'bad' this is!!! I finally realized...when my hubby got mad and 'went to bat for me'....that this oversight and disrespect is UNACCEPTABLE!! And even further....My 'let-it-slide' attitude appears to be making the situation worse, not better!!! So, I need to become a 'SQUEAKY WHEEL' !!!
     It's time to really look at the 'bad' of it!! The wear and tear to my self-esteem. The discouragement and feeling that maybe nobody really cares anyway. The 'bad' personality traits of people who should really know better...and do better!! The 'dragging of the feet', the lackadaisicalness, the 'dropping of the ball of responsibility'!! The over-looking of how 'I' might be feeling in the way the situation is being handled...And the apparent 'NOT caring!! :-(

              Now, I know that I'm not the only person in the world that ever had people around them...people that they loved and cared for, by the way... treat them with seeming disrespect, while at the same time they were claiming that that was not their intention!...But I'm here to tell you, DISRESPECTFUL PEOPLE, that no matter what your 'intention' is, when you repeatedly over-look and discount the feelings of someone you claim to love....it feels 'bad'. VERY 'bad'!!
      So, now that I've actually looked at the 'bad' of it...and 'squeaked' about it!...here's 'hoping' the situation will start to open up onto a new understanding!

       I mean, there's always room for improvement, right?!....It's bound to get better now, right?!....RIGHT?!!!
       If photo taking,...with experience...and proper lighting...and looking at things from a different angle...and clearing things up and bringing them into better focus...can get better....

       ....it can happen with things and people in our life too!.....Right?! :-) .... I sure hope so, because I don't want to do 'another' post about this subject!!! I already wrote two poems about it!! LOL
       {As a side note: Thank you Mr. Wug for always being exactly who I know 'You' to be! XOXOX  You're my 'by my side', 'number one', 'fighter of all things wrong'! :-] I love you!!}
