Love For The Tiny Handmade Boutonniere!

Even though the world's news is full of homes sliding off of cliffs and the threat of war, battles over political issues and all manner of this and that...I'm NOT talking about any of that today!!...and you can't make me!! ^_^
I woke up very early this morning...(Hormones. Don't ask!! Grrrrr!)...and I was in a surprisingly good mood! :-) I had the song "The Way You Look Tonight" playing over and over in my head...(Don't ask about that either, because I don't know why! LOL)...and my mind was as clear as a bell! :-)
I got me a cup of Love.....green tea with honey and lemon :-) ...

...and headed off to get my day started! :-) I went to my Wuglyees Etsy shop and saw that a few lapel pins needed renewing...and so I did...immediately!! It's getting to be about that time for people to 'come-a-calling' for boutonnieres and lapel pins, and I wanna have as many on hand and ready to go as I can!! ^_^
I'm not the only one that feels that way either! I went through the Etsy search to see how the other boutonniere sellers are fairing, and I saw these!...

Oh Yeah! They're doing just fine! :-) I decided to show off their work and give them a little love, from me to them! :-] So go by their shops and check out what they're making, will ya!

Also come by and check out mine too, please! ^_^ ...

I love the variety of colors I'm able to put together. What I most like about it is that if someone is getting married, or having a baby, or....or...for whatever reason they want!...they can let me hand-make a boutonniere or brooch pin in that color for them! {I'm about to do a whole black and white wedding theme boutonniere set soon!} :-)
Each boutonniere takes me about 1 1/2 hours, or a little less, depending, and I only charge $11.00 each for the boutonnieres, and $9.00 each for the tiny lapel pins...

The above tiny lapel pin will be in the Wuglyees shop later today. I finished it late yesterday. :-]

Oh My!! O_O Did this post sound like one of those t.v. 'info-mercials'?!!!... ^_^ Oh Well! I've sounded worse, I'm sure!! Ha! Ha!...I'll try to find something more interesting to talk about tomorrow...or not! ^_^ Even if it's not interesting, you know I'll be here talking my fool head off!! ^_^

 Living Are The Words

All Poets through the ages,
from Poe to Maya Angelou,
have known the power of a word
and what the written word can do.

Words, alone, or in a sentence,
camouflaged or on their face,
are living breathing things,
occupying time and space.

Left within the mind
no one can hear them swear and curse.
When you release them by your speech,
their jab can go from bad to worse.

A complement is like the carving
of a golden apple's peel.
Falling gently on the hearer,
making shiny words a meal.

Cutting words are like a dagger
seeking out the mind and heart.
of the innocent and sure.
Pulling confidence apart.

Living breathing, in and out,
causing havoc every day.
You could be their vehicle.
So, be careful what you say.

Let good words inhabit spaces,
(which inevitably they do.)
And in receiving minds and hearts?
Let them flourish in there too!

YIKES!!...Where Did The Time Go?!!

You're probably not gonna believe this, with my yakkety talkative self, but I almost forgot that I hadn't done a blog post for today!!!! O_O I woke up at 5 a.m. and I've been going, going, going ever since!!
I had some packages that had to be shipped, some updating and filing that had to be done...it's tax time! O_O...and some other stuff, which, as soon as I get this post up, I'll be going back to finish!
Ans it's not like I didn't have things to talk about! I won a Giveaway the other day that I wanted to share with you...Me and hubby got into a conversation about 'specifics' that I wanted to talk about...and we've got some more 'interesting' weather on the way! Ugh!...Not to mention the things that have been in the news lately! WOW!
Maybe I'll get around to talking to you about some of these things over the next few days, but for today I just want to share a few things I spotted on Etsy. One being the cute bear in the header photo! :-) He reminded me a little bit of my 'baby Wuglyee' bear. :-]

I love this purse because....well, because I love interesting bags, I love the color, and I always love anything with a bird on it!! :-)

Now, the soaps caught my attention because of the different "flavors" or selections they come in!...peppermint, French white clay (which has tangerine), dead sea clay (which has lavender and lemon), and a whole lot of others! YUM! :-)

And I love this pillow because it reminds me of all of the things I love...flowers, pillows for napping, words, and 'virtual' dates!...hubby and I have strolled the streets of Paris on many a 'virtual' Friday date night, eating pastries and saying Ooo la la to each other!! ^_^

Speaking of which....Ooo la la!! Look at the time!! O_O Gotta go, Y'all! Busy, Busy, today!...I'll catch up before the week is over though!...I...HOPE! :-] ... Have a good week, everybody!!...And that's my final word for today!! ;-)

'OWL' Be Doing What?!!

I've been seeing owls everywhere, but none as beautifully colored as this one!! I love it!! It has all of my favorite boutonniere thread colors in it!! :-) ... Once again I can say it: "People are so talented!!" I can see why this beauty won an award!!
We don't have any owls in the backyard...that I know of anyway!...

"Hey!.....I mean 'Hoo!'...owls, are you back there?! O_O" LOL

Owls 'do' tend to be kind of unseen in wooded areas, don't they?! So 'Hoo' knows...I may have one back there and just have never seen him! :-] ... But we 'do' have woodpeckers, chickadees, and a resident cardinal! I know because I 'have' seen them....every day just about!! :-)
Something else I know we have back there is snow!!..I've seen it too!....iced-over snow! O_O I'd much rather look for....and 'at'...owls!....even Etsy owls!...

I'm also gonna be looking at my books, some thread, some packages that need to be shipped, and some breakfast!! ^_^ I've got a lot on my plate today.....Well, not on my 'plate' exactly!....not all of it anyway! LOL
Our meeting got switched around this week because of a visitor coming. So I have to put my schedule in hyper-gear in order to get everything done....which I 'will'...Jehovah God willing....do!!

On a personal note, I want to say to a particular reader of my blog whose going through a tough health scare right now, I have YOU on my mind this morning...Sending good thoughts your way, and letting you know the best help you could possibly get is heading your way!! :-)

Have a good day, Everybody!!...The week is....OFF to a running start!!!!...Do good things with it, and let your words reflect your heart! :-))

I Love The Smell Of Firemen In The Morning!

Sauteed chicken and grits. It doesn't look like the kind of thing that would have firemen at your house at eight O'clock in the morning, or the kind of thing that would delay me from talking on my blog, does it?! ^_^
Yep! It's another one of those stories I'm afraid. LOL For those of you that regularly read my blog, I'll just say: 'hubby has been cooking again'. LOL For my own amusement, while I'm telling the story I'll show you the two 'ugly Wuglyee' lapel pins I made yesterday.

(I'm gonna probably list them in my Wuglyees shop later today.)

I was in the bedroom, minding my own business, editing pictures and arranging things so that I could put my blog post up...I'll share that post with you tomorrow...when I heard the loud sound of frying! O_O For those of you that cook, it was the sound a frying pan makes when it has a layer of hot...too hot!...grease in it, and somebody throws some water-laden french fries in it or something!
That's what it "sounded" like! As it turns out that's not what it was...But I yelled: "Bae!!! Turn the frying pan down!! That's gonna smoke up the whole house!!"...No answer. O_O A few minutes later the fire alarm went off....LOUDLY!!!
I still wasn't OVERLY concerned because this 'frying stuff on too high heat' thing is kinda normal for my hubby. Trying to teach him that faster and higher doesn't mean better has been an on-going process! So, this whole situation is not my first rodeo..so to speak!! LOL I just figured that with me yelling at the top of my lungs, the alarm's blaring would stop soon, and I continued to write.

In retrospect, when he didn't answer me the first time I should've been worried! In the past, my yelling and the alarm's blaring would've at least got him to come and explain what was going on. O_O I found out later that what happened was that he went out to try to fan away the smoke and make the alarm go off...and locked himself out of the house!! LOL
As  I was saying, I was just writing away, and the alarm was blaring away, when all of a sudden I heard someone say in a very loud voice...and it didn't sound like my husband! O_O..."Is This Where The Fire is?!"......"FIRE?????" O_O What's going on?!!!..Oh Boy!

Apparently when hubby threw his cold chicken into the 'too hot' frying pan it started to smoke badly. He tried to beat the alarm by fanning it away...it didn't work.   And then the alarm got stuck on BLARE!!!!!! He ended up getting locked outside...unbeknownst to me...THANKFULLY!...He got back in with his spare key. And one of the neighbors called the fire department...I guess.
I still don't know the full story. All I know is that it took an hour for them to get the alarm off, it may cost us...something about an electrician! O_O....and that my chicken and grits tasted very good! :-)

Oh Yeah...I don't think hubby will be cooking anything on 'too high heat' anymore! :-) ... I love the smell of firemen who teach hubbies a good lesson in the morning! :-) It's 'tea-worthy'!...*slurp!*...Better than me saying something about it!

I hope your weekend is exciting...but not this exciting, unless you end up with chicken and grits too!! ^_^ Have a good one!

It Was Almost Too Unbelievable For Words!

Considering my poetically wordy self, when do you ever hear me say that ANYTHING is almost too much for words...huh?...huh?! ^_^ But I'm telling you, yesterday's goings on in the tennis world...and somewhere else too!....Shhhh! I'll tell you about it in a minute...almost was!
It was the kind of day that made you wanna grab a Vanilla ice cream cone to beat the heat...

...to grab a nap, so you could be rested enough for it...

(Card by sadshop

...to grab something to eat after your bath, to be fueled for...

...to grab a cup of coffee...or something to sip on...so that you could get all the way through it...

...and to grab a keyboard, or a typewriter, so that you could record every single word of! :-)

And I'm not just talking about the French Open Tennis Tournament either! ^_^ But first, a few words about that!

**********          YAY! Rafael Nadal (you know..."baby boy" ^_^) won his match yesterday...Was there any doubt?! ^_^ ...He beat Denis Istomin 6-2, 6-2, 6-0 in just an hour and 50 minutes!.....Jo-Wilfried Tsonga also had a straightforward day’s work, finishing his hold over match from the day before against Cedrik-Marcel Stebe. He won 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.....and Ferrer and Gasquet also won their matches.
Andy Murray, although hampered by a new back injury and could barely move in his opening games against Jarkko Nieminen, was still able to dig deep and pull out a win 1-6, 6-4, 6-1, 6-2.

On the schedule for today is the 1st Round of Mixed Doubles: Serena Williams and Bob Bryan vs. Gisela Dulko and Eduardo Schwank.......And 3rd round play...Sloane Stephens vs. Mathilde Johansson (of France)... Agnieszka Radwanska vs Svetlana Kuznetsova... Fabio Fognini vs Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (of France)... Ayumi Morita vs. Maria Sharapova...Novak Djokovic vs. Nicolas Devilder... Victoria Azarenka vs. Aleksandra Wozniak...Nadia Petrova vs. Samantha Stosur...and Juan Martin Del Potro vs. Marin Cilic.
Roger Federer is slated to play Nicolas Mahut today...The same Nicolas Mahut that holds a number of tennis records and awards for his performance in the longest match in professional tennis history against 6-foot-9 John Isner in the first round of the 2010 Wimbledon Championships, where he also broke the record of most points won in a single match (502). He won 70-68 in the fifth, the longest set and match in tennis history.
I don't suspect Mahut is gonna repeat any of those numbers against Roger Federer today! (He's probably still thankful he wasn't playing John Isner yesterday in that marathon match with Matthieu! ^_^)...but any game with Mahut in it...you just never know! ^_^ He's been doing surprisingly well at the Open so far this year though. So I'll just have to watch and see!
John Isner looked like he was trying to repeat that game yesterday! O_O He was involved in another loooooooong match that went for 5 hours and 41 minutes...{ The historic victory over Nicolas Mahut at Wimbledon two years ago went 11-hours! }...Yesterday's match into the books as the second-longest match, by time, in French Open history...Paul-Henri Mathieu needed eight match points to defeat the #10 seed John Isner, 18-16 in the fifth set.
It was just before half past three when Paul-Henri Mathieu and John Isner started their match...and it wasn't until around 9 pm that their battle ended!...Phew!...I think John Isner might now have an idea how Mahut felt on that Wimbledon day two years ago....Mathieu’s eighth match point gave him victory in front of a roaring home crowd. With Philippe Chatrier cloaked in twilight, the Frenchman triumphed 6-7(2), 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 18-16. It was the longest match ever played at Court Philippe Chatrier.

As I always say, You know where I'll be ^_^!...after a morning visit with my 'Tiggerific friend, that is!...but let's face it, even during her visit today I'll still keep one eye open toward the T.V. :-)) **********

But as I said, it wasn't all about tennis yesterday! In other wonderfully 'wordy' news, Snigdha Nandipati won the Scripps National Spelling Bee!!! :-)

Oh how I love a girl that loves words almost as much as I do! Her spelling was unbelievable!!!...CONGRATULATIONS  Snigdha Nandipati!!!!!! :-)And since she said her dad taught her to spell, I guess I should say CONGRATULATIONS to you too, Dad!!! :-)

Now, a few words to the French Open winners, to the Scripps National Spelling Bee winner, to my Tiggerific friend, and to all of you who are patiently reading my posts still every day......

Have a good day, Everybody!!...Talk amongst yourselves! ^_^

Some Things Going Down...Other Things Going Up!

How nice, right?!....for drivers anyway! They said, on the news this morning, that the gas prices are lower than they were a year ago right now! And that they would be ten cents lower by next month!...or at least, that's what I think they said. O_O I could've been dreaming.

If I wasn't dreaming though, and the news is true, there's gonna be a lot more action at the gas pumps from now on! ^_^ And hubby will be right in the mix!...He's been fussing and complaining every time he filled the car up recently. Maybe a little less being shelled out of his pocket will make him happier about having to ride all over the place on job hunts!

Speaking of job hunts, where are all of the 'full-time' jobs at?! O_O It looks like everyone wants part-time help, without offering insurance!...I guess that's the way it goes nowadays! Everybody is trying to cut over-head....even employers!
The fight for hubby's unemployment pay is still on-going...*sigh*...We're answering everyone's questions...and waiting.  Hopefully we'll find out something soon. In the meantime we're taking it a day at a time.
Hubby has been buying newspapers and combing the "Help Wanted" sections....which don't usually have much. And he's been going to the 'job center' in our town regularly. They post when new jobs are available, and they have classes to help you with things like...how to use a computer...how to write a resume...how to present yourself on interviews, and stuff like that.
They have a class on 'how to use the computer' next month that hubby says he thinks he's gonna go to. He hardly ever uses the computer for anything here at the house. And usually I'm the one trying to help him out when he does....and you "know" I can't answer all of his questions!! ^_^ I'm amazed that I kinda sorta know what I'm doing on the computer myself most of the time!...with the few things I know how to fiddle with I mean!...And those are things I learned mostly by trial and error.....LOTS of error! LOL

I do have a 'wheel-house' that I "do" know about though! ^_^ Crochet!!...Speaking of which, look at what I found in my stash the other day!...

It's a purse I crocheted, sewed the handles onto, made and attached a brooch to, and then...put it aside to take pictures of and list later. And later never came!...

Oh! If you only knew how many scarves, brooches, etc.... that I've done this very same thing with!...*shaking my head*...I get excited about the making of stuff...but not excited about the picture-taking, listing, and promoting of stuff!

I'm not gonna list this one still. I'm giving it away!! ^_^ Hopefully the recipient will be happy when they get it...And off I go to make some more 'Stuff'!!! LOL...Have a good day everybody! :-) And if you have to drive anywhere.....go ahead! It's a few cents less...and a few miles more for all of us!! ^_^ ...I'm not driving anywhere, but I might take a spin around a poem or two! :-)

You're Starting To Make My Husband Wonder What I'm Doing On This Blog!!!

Let me start out today's post by saying: "I get it!" What I mean is that I know that me going on and on, and gushing about my husband, my friends, and things I've bought or received, is not the most fascinating thing in the world for you to be stopping by to read every day!! Really!! I get it!!
In fact, I get sick of myself sometimes!! ^_^ But that's why I love blogging so much! Because no matter how much I go on, you guys...and girls...are absolutely wonderful about, not only coming by to read it and tell me what you think, but lately some of you have my husband wondering:"What are you doing on that blog anyway!!" LOL
So to all of you...every single one of you!...who read my blog on some kind of regular basis; who share your experiences; leave the funniest, most informative, and sometimes thought-provoking and helpful comments; some of you who read, but don't comment; and some who comment, but not here on the blog, but leave me wonderful messages of encouragement and insight either on Facebook or on Twitter...this blog post is for you!!!!!.....Consider yourself affectionately kissed on the cheek, and hugged by a substantially squishy Wug!! ^_^
     (ohhellodear)
Now, a few of you have gone above and beyond your very appreciative 'words' though! The header photo is a peep at one of your gifts that I received from a long...long....long way away! And yes! I'm gonna tell!!! ^_^
I know I talk a lot, but my intention here is not to cause competition or illicit more gifts . In fact, after my hubby's joking and teasing me, I'm a little embarrassed to be given such a 'lime-light'!! He thinks you're trying to 'Queen' me!!! LOL
So, from here on I won't be showing any gifts I receive as personal thank yous here on the blog. In fact, please don't feel the need to send me a gifted thank you if you win one of my giveaways. (Which is always in play here on the blog. See the right hand sidebar for what's being given away right now....and enter!) You know how much I love and prefer your regular gift of words anyway!! :-)
Here's the rest of the story...in pictures...of the gift I received from Bee Happy, all the way from the UK!! She won one of my giveaway hats a while back...a red one sorta like this one...
{By the way, the red hat above, and the black one below too...
      ...are finally listed for sale in my Wuglyees shop! Yay for me, finally 'kicking LAZY to the curb'!!! LOL}
      ...and she sent me this!...
It's a beautiful lavender heart sachet!...The other side says....
And it smells so goooooood too!!! :-)
            I also got a card!
I wish I could smell those cupcakes!!! LOL But it's okay, it had some really sweet-viewing 'words'..... :-)
       Bee, this meant the world to me!! Truly....it did! My house has the sweet aroma of a gift lovingly sent, and a smile showing it was lovingly received. :-] {Now I just have to keep it away from my hubby!! He wants to take it and hang it in his car next to Oscar!!!! O_0  NO WAY!!! That would be no way to treat a gift!! LOL}
Now, what's funny about this is that this is not the gift I was talking about yesterday when I told you I had received a gift from 'across the pond'!! ^_^ I got Bee's gift late yesterday!!!
The gift I got a couple of days before that was from Dee, of Dee Dee's Vintage!! :-)
And since Dee is not around...she's on a trip to Greece with her boys...I can gush over her all I want...in 'private'!... *wink! wink!* You won't tell, will you?!! ^_^ ... Okay, here goes!
Oh yeah! It was huge!!....And it came from the UK too!!!
        WOW!!!!!
A sweet card with red roses all over it! :-) Somebody knows how much I love flowers!!
        Hmmm....What's this?!
        All in bubble wrap too?!.....
Ooooo! Yum!! I'm always seeing her, on her blog, baking all kinds of goodies and making jams and saying to her: "I sure wish I had some!!"....Well, now I 'do' have some!!!! :-)
Where are my hot biscuits?!! ^_^
But this wasn't all she sent!
I also got 2 balls of crochet thread....
        ...a little stitch crochet booklet....
...and one of her little handmade quilted pillows!!
It's stitched so nicely. And it smells sooooo good!! :-) Thank you Dee....just in case you happen to read this when you get back...*giggle*
So, as I said: "I get it!" I do a lot of talking!! My gushing and carrying on can, no doubt, get a bit annoying. But you'll forgive me...just this last time...won't you?! :-]
Okay....off to finish Miss Jane Austen's book, and maybe even finish the black and white shawl today too! Now that LAZY has been 'kicked to the curb' I've been raring to go!!! Maybe I'll even pen some 'words'! :-) ...What are you doing today?!

Poetry

Poetry, the gift of words,
that help you say whats in your heart;
that puts your thoughts of life together,
but pulls emotions all apart.

Poetry, your quiet friend,
that gives your voice a place to land;
that gives the things you'd  never say
a way to jump out from your hand.

Poetry, done to a beat,
a beat of words, said right in time,
without confusion of the music,
but just the rythum and the rhyme.

Poetry, phrase harmony;
the way a noun and adverb meet;
the way they line up line-by-line,
and all Not needed they delete.

Poetry, the passing thoughts,
and all the others I hold dear,
of all the people and the places
that I've  written down right here.

Poetry, the gift of words,
and putting them together too;
Without the pen and paper
what in the world would my mind do?
