Poets "Scooooooooooooooore!!!" :-)

https://www.etsy.com/listing/33081816/book-20-poems?ref=shop_home_active_5

Hello, Y'all!...Whatcha doing?!...Me?!...Oh, just trying to stay in the air conditioning! Oh Yeah...it's HOT today!! O_O Nothing earth-shattering. Just in the 80s is all. But considering that, after a thunderstorm in the middle of the night, I thought the temperature would get cooler today...it's surprisingly hot!...and humid!
I don't have to go outside into it though, so 'Go Ahead, Mr. Weather! Knock Yourself Out!!' ^_^ I'm inside the house, in the air conditioning, scrolling through Etsy treasuries, like this one!...

https://www.etsy.com/treasury/MTU0ODkzMjd8MjcyNjM1MDU1OA/w-h-i-s-p-e-r

The reason I'm scrolling through Etsy treasuries, and especially through this one above, is because my book of poems was chosen to 'keep company' with the other items chosen for this treasury! :-)
My poems don't usually get that much attention. Not even from me! LOL I haven't written more than two or three new poems over the last few months!...I write them when I get inspired to, but lately I haven't been inspired to do much of anything...except this blog...and some sports watching! ^_^
Between the French Open tennis tournament, The NBA Basketball play-offs, and now...soccer!...

https://www.etsy.com/listing/116859923/soccer-player-decal-sticker-wall-cool?ref=favs_view_1

...all of my time has been joyously taken up! ^_^ Next week another major tennis tournament will start...Wimbledon! :-) I'm already getting my soft 'prop-me-up' pillows ready!! LOL
Don't get me wrong, I'm not so involved with sports as to not be doing ANYTHING else! I mean, I do have a whole life going on over here! Ha! Ha! But most of my life is not worth writing blog posts about!...taking baths, putting on deodorant and lotion, folding clothes, eating hot dogs and chips, drinking lots of water, exercising, taking hummingbird pictures, trying to get my husband to be a bit more tidy...you know, LIFE!! ^_^
So, instead of boring you with LIFE, I'll just share soccer with you! ^_^

https://www.etsy.com/listing/121805543/soccer-necklace-sports-jewelry-soccer?ref=favs_view_2

And, of course, crochet flowers earrings! :-) ...

Come on! You knew there would be a flower in this post somewhere!! ^_^ "Scooooooooooooooooooooooore!!!!!" Ha! Ha! Have a good rest of the day, Everybody! ♥

Poetry

Poetry, the gift of words,
that help you say whats in your heart;
that puts your thoughts of life together,
but pulls emotions all apart.

Poetry, your quiet friend,
that gives your voice a place to land;
that gives the things you'd  never say
a way to jump out from your hand.

Poetry, done to a beat,
a beat of words, said right in time,
without confusion of the music,
but just the rhythm and the rhyme.

Poetry, phrase harmony;
the way a noun and adverb meet;
the way they line up side-by-side,
and all Not needed they delete.

Poetry, the passing thoughts,
and all the others I hold dear,
of all the people and the places
that I've  written down right here.

Poetry, the gift of words,
and putting them together too;
Without the pen and paper
what in the world would my mind do?

A New Brooch! :-)

https://www.etsy.com/shop/wuglyees

Oops! O_O I almost forgot to put a post up! ^_^ I woke up late...like, around 9:00 a.m.!!!...and then it was breakfast, giggling and making the day's plans with hubby, finishing up the new brooch I was working on last night!... YAY! :-) ...and a few other things!

https://www.etsy.com/shop/wuglyees

Then it dawned on me..."Hey! O_O What about your blog?!"...Yikes!...What am I gonna do with this brain of mine?!!! ^_^

https://www.etsy.com/shop/wuglyees

https://www.etsy.com/shop/wuglyees

So, since my brain is severely 'wonky!', the only thing I could do was share the new brooch, and these two new pins...

No...there's nothing special about a tiny white clutch back lapel pin, or a white clutch back flower boutonniere...

...Nothing new except that they're new...again!...in my shop! :-) I had some sales yesterday and I had to replace them. :-) ...

https://www.etsy.com/shop/wuglyees

I'm heading over to list them in my Wuglyees shop right now...Then I've got a talk to write!!!...*deep breath*...So much to do today, and so little brain power or time!! LOL...BUT...I always have just a little bit more time for poetry!! ^_^ Have a good day, Everybody! ♥

Butter Dish......Butter Fly!

Hubby and I woke up this morning in 'talk' mode. :-) When we're like that conversations can go from A to Z!... Or for people who understand the Bible, from Adam to Armagedon! LOL We didn't go all the way to the end of the line this morning though. We just went as far as Georgia...in the southern United States! :-))
We got into a conversation about the different 'wording' that southerners use for things. For instance, I said to hubby this morning: "I woke up with a 'crick' in my back." O_O And he jokingly said: "Well, you better call the police!" ^_^
Then I had to correct him. "No, not a 'crook' (a thief) in my back!...a 'crick'!" LOL He assured me that he knew exactly what I was talking about. His mother, like me, is also from Georgia originally. ^_^ He was just trying to make a joke! ^_^
That led to a conversation about why a 'crick'...in southern lingo (language)...is both 'a twisted or cramped place in the back that causes pain'...and...'a stream of water'! ^_^
It also led to conversation about other southern expressions, like 'fixin to'. Example: "I'm 'fixin to' go to the store"...Or in other words: I'm about to...or I'm getting ready to...go to the store. :-]
And it also led to the title of my blog today...about 'butter'! ^_^ Hubby said he was getting ready to go and fix breakfast...at 5 a.m.! And I said: "You 'butter' not!!" Ha! Ha!...Of course, in other English lingo this would be: "You 'better' not!"...but I'm from the southern state of Georgia, Y'all! ^_^ 'You butter understand!' ^_^
Joking around, hubby said: "You butter 'dish' (distribute information) about that on your blog."...I said: "I sho (sure) butter!" LOL...So there you have it...on Pancake Sunday!...With a crick in my back, I'm fixin to do some  'butter' dish, share a cute item I found on Etsy....

...and then I 'butter' fly!! ^_^

Isn't language grand!! ^_^ Have a good day, Everybody! :-)

What Would You Do If You Had The Power?!

I sure hope you didn't follow the post title thinking you were gonna come to my blog today and get deep and thoughtful conversation...cuz you won't! Not today. :-)) ...I woke up very late, and it's raining cats and dogs outside. The only thing that's moving with ease...is my mind! That's always trouble....for YOU! LOL
The truth is...I 'do' have something serious to talk about today. Well...seriously sweet! It's a shop I found on Etsy that sells children's poetry prints. In fact the poem from the header photo was what got me and hubby into one of "those" conversations this morning! ^_^ I'll share that with you in a minute. First let me share with you a couple of the sweet poems on her prints. :-)

I don't know why I didn't think about having hubby illustrate some of my poetry before I listed it to sell! It's a great idea!...But I think it works better with her children's poems anyway...

Her prints are very reasonably priced and would look so cute in a child's room...not to mention bring smiles to the reading adults in the child's life! :-) I LOVED them! Especially "The Rescue"...

The illustration was what got me and hubby going. ^_^ It's such a sweet little cookie rescuing outfit!...and it got us to wondering what we would do if we had the power to do it!...Hmmmm... So here are our 4 ideas in a nutshell:

1. I would have a button installed on the back of my head that lengthens and shortens my hair. ^_^ ...

Wanna look cute on 'Date Night', try a bunch of different styles of hair braiding, or wear a ponytail?....*push button*...long hair!...

....Wanna read, apply make-up, wash 'Noxema' off of my face, or cry uncontrollably when watching my favorite old movies?...*push button*...short hair. ^_^ Ah, yeah! I could have fun with a button like that! ^_^

2. Hubby says he would make it so that politicians could only talk about each other's good qualities! :-) Nothing about themselves!...

WOW! That would certainly change some of the rhetoric on these commercials, huh?! :-))

3. This was a power I wish I had as a little kid!...I wished I had the power to give myself and everybody a visual water line in their eyes that showed when their bladder was getting full... :-) I know! It sounds ridiculous! But think of how much less explaining you'd have to do!...When I had to go to the bathroom when I was a kid, the teacher always gave me a hard time! But with a water line in my eyes...

...she would know I wasn't lying and just trying to get out of her class!! ^_^ That would've saved me a lot of embarrassing, front of the class, giggling and jiggling!...FOR REAL!...As adults, imagine how fast unwanted conversations, and checkout grocery lines would move along, if people could see your 'full bladder' eye line!! LOL

4. And last...My husband wants there to be a "Boomerang" button that you can install in your car...so that if someone steals your car, it will only go so far....and then boomerang back to you!!! LOL...

He also wants a smaller pocket-size version for little things like glasses and keys. We could totally get rid of the idea of losing anything, because it would all boomerang back to you!! ^_^

Okay...enough silliness! Back to reality....O-U-C-H!!!..Rain! Ugh!...I'm gonna go and do some reading and try to do a little crocheting. Maybe it'll limber my finger joints up. I hope so. I've got some more lapel pins to replace! :-) ...Have a good day, Everybody!

YAY!! We Figured It Out!

I love a 'statement piece' that truly makes a statement. And when I agree with the statement....even better! So, what is the statement this piece...owl necklace...is making?! "It's time to get up!"
Considering the wordy going on I've been doing the last few days about not being able to sleep, you'll probably be surprised to know that I slept like a newborn baby yesterday!......ALL DAY, in fact!...How did I pull that off, you're wondering?!...We figured out the culprit responsible for my lack of sleep...my C-Pap machine.
Apparently it was due for a complete DE-germifying. We do the weekly and daily cleaning of it, but it was at the point where all parts of it, including the hoses, had to be completely soaked in soap and water for 20 minutes, soaked in vinegar for another 20 minutes, and then rinsed several times, to kill all of the bacteria and everything..and then it had to dry!
It was 'A JOB'!! But a job well worth the effort because after it was all dry I got to test it out! ^_^ Oh! I was so exhausted y'all! I was at the point, from almost three days in a row of hardly any sleep, where my heart was fluttering ridiculously, I had a headache, I was getting sharp stabbing pains in my joints and I couldn't remember the right words when I was talking..One time I actually asked hubby to get me some juice from the microwave! LOL....Uh, let's not confuse appliances with gadgetry girl! ^_^ That would be like confusing my bed with an iPads! ^_^ ...Although they both can have pretty covers sometimes! ^_^ ...

       ...just saying! LOL

Speaking of pretty bedding.....it's that stream of consciousness thing again!...look at the pretty pillows I saw on Etsy yesterday!...

They were the kind of apparatuses I was thankful to be able to appreciate, now that I know what "asleep" looks like from behind my eyelids! LOL If I still hadn't gotten any sleep, they would've been just symbols of aggravation for me!...But No!
       I even could appreciate these...

Listen...I know that in the scheme of things...like the two little Tennessee girls being found alive...YAY!...my getting some sleep is not that important! But just the same, I'm thankful!.....and this morning...I'm awake! :-) Now I can get some things done...like my Friday visit with my 'Tiggerific' girlfriend, and then putting some buttons on some things I crocheted before this whole 'No Sleep' thing started.
         Speaking of buttons.....

....I wouldn't mind having a few of these this morning too! ^_^ Okay....I'm off! I'm so awake that I might even engage in some poetry writing! :-) Have a good day, Everybody! :-)

'Virtual Date Night' To 'The Emerald City'!

        (Wikipedia)
If you recognize this skyline, then you know where hubby and I went for our 'virtual date night' last night! :-) ...We spent a romantic evening, talking, eating, and listening to Jazz in 'The Emerald City' (making reference to the lush evergreen forests of the area). An area otherwise also informally known as the "Gateway to Alaska", "Rain City",and "Jet City"! Do you know where we went?! ^_^
       Here's some clues for you!...

Hubby got a 'virtual' nosebleed while we were on this ride! ^_^ ... Do you know where we were?!

Yep!...Seattle Washington!... :-) ...the largest city in the Northwestern United States! The city is a major seaport situated on a narrow isthmus between Puget Sound (an arm of the Pacific Ocean) and Lake Washington, about 114 miles south of the Canada–United States border...Water is such a romantic backdrop for a date, don't you think?! :-)

And lights dancing off of the water at night, with nice music playing at the same time.....Nice! :-) It kinda reminded us of the movie...

...Sleepless in Seattle. ♥ ...It's a very romantic movie, full of great Seattle and New York scenery, and great old music...Here's a little taste...

Some other interesting information about Seattle was mentioned on the Wikipedia site. It said:

"The Seattle area had been inhabited by Native Americans for at least 4,000 years before the first permanent white settlers....The settlement was renamed "Seattle" in 1853, after Chief Seattle of the local Duwamish and Squamish tribes.."
And in talking about the music scene around Seattle, it said:

"...Seattle has a noteworthy musical history. From 1918 to 1951, there were nearly two dozen jazz nightclubs along Jackson Street in the current Chinatown/International District...The jazz scene developed the early careers of Ray Charles, Quincy Jones, Ernestine Anderson and others. Seattle is also the birthplace of rock legend Jimi Hendrix..." ...Pretty cool, Seattle! :-)

The city has a misleading reputation for frequent rain...I'm glad it's a misleading reputation...I had it with rain after the other day! And we didn't wanna be fighting rain on our date. Thankfully, the weather was just beautiful!
If we had taken in a Seattle Mariners ball game it would have been the perfect boy/girl date! ^_^ ....What am I saying?!!...Hubby is a boy....I'm a girl!....I t "WAS" the perfect boy/girl date!! ^_^

I even got hubby to read a little poetry to me in the moonlight!...

Yeah, moonlight and music are really, really nice....but I love it when my man talks poetically to me! :-)

And I also like it when I can talk poetically to YOU! :-) Have a good day Seattle....and Everybody!! :-)

Box It Up...And Put It In A Frame!

I decided to give you all a break today from me talking about the weather in Massachusetts! I'm just about sick of myself at this point! LOL...Instead I wanna tell you about a love of mine. Actually two loves of mine! Boxes...and frames. :-)
You know how sometimes you can put your finger on exactly why you love a thing?...Well that's not the case with this! ^_^ Threw you for a minute, didn't I?! :-) You thought you were about to hear some romantic story about some expensively ornate gift I got in a box or a frame...Truth is, I don't know why I love them!
All I know is that the words: "What's in the box?" make me giddy with delight!...And if the box opens and there's a gift of a frame......! Woohoo! But it doesn''t have to be a frame in the box. It can be empty and still...!
And I'm particularly drawn to wooden boxes like the one above. I could wander around this Etsy shop for hours just staring at the pretty boxes! :-)
I have a few boxes around my house. {My husband would be laughing hysterically right now at the word "few". ^_^} Mostly I keep my jewelry in them, but I have papers, rocks, coins, buttons, and all kinds of things in others. A couple are just empty too...sitting there doing their job of looking pretty. :-)
     Whenever we were 'tag-saling' or something, and we would come across interesting looking boxes or frames, it would take all the restraint I could muster not to buy them! {Or the restraint of a husband that was holding the money at the time...just saying. ^_^}
Somewhere in the deep recesses of my mind is a vision of me taking my last breath, my arm falling over the side of the bed,...{because, of course, I probably died from too much napping!! LOL}...and falling out of my hand is the key to a box that's sitting on my night-stand. Then everyone in the room...{because I wouldn't die alone. I'd need someone to say my last words..cough! cough!...to, wouldn't I?! LOL}... looks over at the night-stand and, through their tears, says: "What's in the box?" ^_^
Okay....so I'm a little bit dramatic! But you knew that already, right?! LOL My point is...I think that's what boxes are to me. Somewhere to hide your dearest secret or your greatest treasure. :-) Mine is probably gonna have a Bible, my wedding ring, and a poem...just saying. ...Every one tells a story! :-)
Now the frames thing is similar. But I can put my finger on this one a bit better. All of my favorite pictures and poems have come in beautiful frames...And since I write poetry myself, I always think about what will frame my words if someone buys them...Of course nobody is beating down my door to do that right now, but whatever! :-))
I wrote a short poem for a newborn, and I decided that it needed to be put in a frame and sold in my shop. I looked around on Etsy for inspiration on what kind of frame it should be. These are ones I liked...
I think my poems would look good in a format like this...or in a wooden frame like this one (below)...

And yes! This frame does come from the same Etsy shop as the box in my header photo!! And now you know why I was wandering around in there for so long! :-] I didn't even scratch the surface of telling you about her boxes. Here's another little peek...
       Okay...back to my frames! :-)
I love the ornate flowers around this one. So pretty!!...I can't make anything that pretty though! I'm a crocheter!
My baby poem needs to be in a frame though. So I decided to crochet one for it. Well....a frame 'cover'...
I'm still working on it, but I'm thinking of crocheting a flower for the corner of it, putting the poem in the middle, and maybe putting a pink ribbon somewhere on it...{or a blue ribbon, along with blue and white thread, in one I'm thinking of making for a boy}...
What do you think?!...I'm excited about it, but we'll see how it looks when I'm finished...I wish I had thought about the whole frame issue a little more deeply when I wrote my 'Fishing Life' poem! I may have put it in a frame like this one...
You guessed it! This Big Fish Wooden Frame is from martapasierbek's shop too!! :-) Oh! My words would have felt so 'at home' in there. :-]
Okay....I'm off to 'box up' gill's Giveaway brooch! It's got a loooooong trip to make! The new Giveaway is going to be a scarf. It's gonna be posted later today on the Giveaway link. So please check back later (if it's not there now) and see if it's something you want to enter to get. :-)
I've gotta stick my nose in the books today. We have an interesting review of information we've learned lately coming in tonight's meeting. I wanna be prepared, and see how well...or not...my brain is holding onto things I put in there! :-] ...And tomorrow I have some things I'm loving right now that I'd like to share with you...and a hint as to where our 'Virtual' Date is gonna take us this Friday!...So, have a good day everybody!! See you tomorrow!
