"Need A Blanket And Some Shoes For Tonight's Last Minute 'Virtual' Trip?!" :-)

       Change of plans. :-) That's the 'real' theme of today's blog post. ^_^ We had a 'Friday Virtual Date Day' trip all planned...to go nowhere! A 'staycation' of sorts. And now there's been a change of plans.

        Why, you ask?...Because we had to stay home and wait for the painter...So we decided to order food in and just take it easy. BUT...the painter came on time! Imagine that! A worker that set an appointment, and actually stayed true to it!! ^_^

      So that left us free to go away...'virtually'. :-) And where are we going?! To the beach?...

      No! :-) I've seen enough water this week!...It's raining again as I speak!! Ugh!...So nope! Not the beach.....But do I need a blanket where we're going?!...Yes and no. :-) ...I need to take something to crochet with me, and my baby blanket is a must! ^_^ The photo below is how far I am so far...

      The middle is almost done! It's gonna be me and some crochet edging on my baby blanket while we're in.....*drum roll* :-) ...

      HOLLAND!!! :-) ... We owe the idea for this 'virtual' trip to Olga, of OlgaArtShop.  When I featured a wall clock of hers on the blog yesterday, one that had pretty tulips on it, and mentioned something about pretty flowers in her country of Belgium, she let me know that her inspiration for the flower styled wall clock was not Belgium, but Keukenhof Garden in Holland - their neighbor country!

       She said that if you visit it at least once - from March till May every year - you'll get looots of pleasure, great impressions, creative ideas and never forget it! ^_^ .... So, here we come Keukenhof Garden...tonight!! :-) 

      If you look at any of the above video you'll see that Olga was right about Keukenhof Garden's serene and inspiring beauty. Ahhhhhhhhh!...Just what the painter ordered!....That would be artistic painters and bathroom painters alike! LOL...Have a good weekend, Everybody! :-)

What Is That On My Backyard Lawn?!!

      Hubby and I were awake early this morning. We didn't get up right away though. We just lay there talking about how we slept...him, good. Me, Ugh! :-)) ...Then there was a conversation about what our plans were for the day...making a grocery list, going to the meeting, and some other pre-Monday things!
      Then hubby opened the blinds, and WHOA!! O_O There was snow on the ground!!...
 

      Where did that come from?! O_O We watched the weather report last night and there was NO talk about snow! NONE!...Oh well, I guess weather people can't know everything, right?! ^_^
 

      Other than a surprise snowfall, there's another surprise this morning....I'm craving pancakes! ^_^ Out of the blue I said: "Ummmmm...I'm feeling like having some pancakes."...Hubby said: "Ha! Ha!...Me too! That's why I bought some mix yesterday!! ^_^"
      So, needless to say, it's a 'Pancake Sunday' revisited!! LOL Somehow I knew it would come around again. You can't keep a good pancake down for long! LOL...Or a good snow!...
 

      They both will demand their time in the sun from time to time. ^_^ And I'll be here to talk about it!! LOL...Have a good Sunday, Everybody!

Fridays...Oh! Fridays!!

    Now, I know that this header photo is probably very, very wrong!! And I probably shouldn't be getting your saliva glands going so early in the morning...but I CAN'T HELP MYSELF!!! Ha! Ha! I needed to share!
    Hubby and I had this as part of our meal for 'Date Night' last night. Or I should say "I" had it. It's catfish, hush puppies {little corn meal and fried onion balls}, mashed potatoes and gravy, fried okra, corn bread, and cinnamon apples!! Hubby couldn't have the catfish. He's allergic to some fish...catfish is one. But no worries...I enjoyed it enough for both of us!! ^_^

     And what did he get stuck with have?!

   Cabbage and chopped ham. Yum!...Actually, it was very good. :-) And don't feel too sorry for him. He also had ribs!! But I didn't get a picture of them before they disappeared! :-] 
   I really look forward to Fridays!!! :-) ... Before he came home with all of this catfish goodness...and a Mounds chocolate bar as a gift {oooo! Whee! It's good to be in love with a man who knows me! :-))}...I spent a few hours finishing the crocheted hat I started yesterday. He took some pictures of it this morning.

    I think Shequita looks much better in this hat than she did in the red and black hat, don't you?! ^_^

   You might not be able to tell from the photos, but I made it with two different baby-weight yarns, in mint green and turquoise, and held a black thread with them as a third strand. 
    It's really a 'Wuglyee' remnant hat, because I used the last of the turquoise color and had to finish it with just the mint green, doubled, and the black thread on the other part. Another 'Imperfect' creation...that I love!!! What do you think?!
   I made some flower brooches that I think I'm going to list with it...at least one of them anyway, as a "please take my ugly baby home" gift! ^_^

     Everybody can be bribed with flowers...can't they?! ^_^
   Okay, I have to go and get ready for the day. I'm going to try and share another "perfect bite" {Did you ever see the movie "The Mirror Has Two Faces" with Barbara Streisand?} with the hubby this morning for breakfast. Then I've got a bible study I'll be sitting in on, and company coming!! Fun for the mouth, the fingers, and the mind! It's going to be a good Saturday, I think! (Don't ask, about the computer!! ^_^)
