I Guess You Had To Be There!

Is it just me and my hubby, or is it true with everybody, that when your schedule gets so full that you can't figure out what to do or which way to turn first, all of a sudden everything seems funny?!...I suspect it's just silly 'us'!! LOL
Case in point: hubby and I woke up this morning talking about all the things we have to do today. You know, 'running it by each other' and trying to put things in order of importance in our minds...A, B, and then C. Life is more productive that way, right?!...*shaking my head*...In our case, WRONG! ^_^
Having no grits to make breakfast reminded hubby that he had to get in the car and go to the store...which reminded him about the fact that it's Saturday and he doesn't have to drive his clients anywhere today!...which reminded him of a conversation he overheard between two of his elderly lady clients the other day as he was driving along. It went like this:

"Why don't you ever wear pants?"

        "I haven't worn pants for 41 years!"

"But didn't you win some pants playing Bingo?"

"Yeah, but I can't find my pants!"

Hubby didn't know what they were talking about...and he didn't wanna know!! LOL He was just glad they didn't try to rope him into the conversation! ^_^

...but just rehashing their conversation reminded him about the pretty trees and flowers he saw out the window as he was trying not to pay attention to their conversation...which reminded him of the hummingbird feeder that he put up in the other side of our backyard, and how he has to either move it back near our window, or get another one today...which reminded him of the baby hummingbird he saw in the yard yesterday, that he took some photos of and wanted to show me! :-) ...

I uploaded and enlarged his three photos. Uhhhh...do you see a baby hummingbird?!...

     I said: "Honey, that's a hummingbird?!...Where is his beak?!" O_O...

He came over and looked at the screen and said: "Awwww! O_O He doesn't even look like a hummingbird in those photos! I thought I was closer!.....Hmmmm...Ha! Ha!...he looks like a pussy-willow!!" ^_^
     I laughed too, because...Uhhh...this is a pussy-willow (below)!...

...and looking back at the photo of the baby hummingbird...I agree!!! ^_^ It 'does' look like a pussy-willow on the branch instead of a hummingbird!! Ha! Ha! I guess you had to be there. ^_^

Anyway!...This morning's chitter chatter headed down the 'things we find funny' road...and something tells me that the 'WHOLE' 'To Do' list is not gonna get 'Too Done' today!! ^_^ ...But we don't wanna giggle alone. Here's a few giggles for you too!...

      ^_^ This T-shirt reminded me that I haven't had breakfast....I mean, any exercise...yet! LOL

And you computer lovers will 'howl' over this one!! ^_^ ...

And, of course, I 'hollered' over this one...

The description for the pillowcases said they were a funny gift idea for the bed hog in your life. ^_^ Uhhhh...that would be 'ME'!!! LOL...But I don't think it's that funny!! Frankly, I think it's just a great idea!! ^_^ I would finally be able to claim a 'drool-free' zone!!! LOL Or at least...turning over only to get a face full of my own drool! ^_^ Sorry...was that too much information?!....*twiddling my fingers*
Yeah, right!! You all know EXACTLY what I'm talking about!!!! I'm sure you HAVE been there!! (I heard it said that Marriage is like a deck of cards. In the beginning all you need is two hearts and a diamond...By the end, you wish you had a club and a spade...I think the spade is so you can knock the drool away!!) LOL
Giggle amongst yourselves! ^_^ And have a good weekend!

Sense Of Humor

How do you gauge a sense of humor?
Is it just about a laugh?
Do you only know you're funny
when they're doubled up, in half?

Can a chuckle or a giggle
be a clue that you have wit?
Or can a smile and a head shake
be the quiet proof of it?

It's the people that are laughing,
in their house, their yard, their car.
That can spot a sense of humor;
recognize it from afar.

I don't know myself.
I just know what makes me smile.
Anyone who likes themselves
and can be talking for a while.

And if they make me wanna sit
and wonder "what will they say next?",
then they have a sense of humor
cuz I wouldn't be here unless...

Flowers To Funny, And Some Pancakes In Between!

I know it's risky to lead my blog post with a little seen crochet flower necklace, but...call me adventurous! ^_^ ... Yes...it's still 'Pancake Sunday' in our house...(see photos below)...These are my breakfast pancakes this morning without syrup...

...and these are my breakfast pancakes WITH syrup! :-) YUM!!!...

I also could have shown you the empty plate after I scarfed them down!...but where would be the sense in that?! LOL ...And besides, that's not my focus for today's blog post!...I wanna show you where my crochet necklace (from the header photo) showed up!...

It showed up in his pretty treasury, entitled 'Bring some color to your life'!...

And when I say 'pretty', I mean 'pretty'!...Look at these cute items that were included...

You can click on the treasury photo to go over and check out the other Etsy shop items, if you like. You won't be disappointed I don't think. :-]
In fact you might end up smiling like I did when I got another email from a satisfied customer last night! :-) He received his lapel pin and wanted me to see it on his suit!...

Doesn't that lilac purple look good on that dark suit?! :-) I have to admit, I hadn't envisioned it on a dark suit...Goes to show what I know!...So cool! :-) ... I love my customers!!

Anyway, I'm not gonna hang around doing a lot of 'jibbbery jabbing' today. I'm having a bit of stomach pain this morning...it might have been the milk I drank before bed last night. O-U-C-H! I need to doctor myself a bit so I can be 'wide-eyed and bushy-tailed' for the meeting today!! :-)
Have a good day, Everybody! :-) And don't take any wooden nickles! ^_^ ...I don't know why I'm bringing up wooden nickles now. :-)) My sense of humor is all over the place!! :-)) ... It just popped into my head, with my mother's voice attached to it, and I said it! Clearly, more than my stomach needs doctoring!! LOL Bye!

Super Storm...Preparation!

There's a dark cloud over our area right now...and it's not as well put together as the original drawing of this dark cloud in my header photo, or the other ones in Nicole's shop!...Our dark cloud is the so-called 'super storm'..."hurricane Sandy"!
She's coming up the east coast right now, prepared to hit in a couple of days, and suppose to be bigger and windier than "hurricane Irene "was last year! O_O I don't know if in the end Sandy will do all they think she'll do, or be as damaging as they think she might be, but I can tell...the weather people are nervous!!
They're calling it a "once in a lifetime event", and saying it's gonna be destructive, historic and life-threatening!...WOW!...that's a lot of nervousness!...Thankfully, as of right now anyway, our local weather people are saying that western Massachusetts is gonna dodge the worst of "Sandy"...IF...and it's a big "if"...she stays on the path she's on right now for the next couple of days.
Rain, storm surge, flooding, destructive winds, and snow...yes, SNOW!...are touted to be involved in this storm! O_O And they're saying that in our area we're suppose to get lots of power outages. So, if you don't see my blog post up you'll know why! Because you know I could talk my way right through a storm if I had to! ^_^

If there's a lot of down time that won't be a bad thing for me though. My girlfriend has invited me to put some of my items in a craft show with hers in November, and I'm making lapel pins like a crazy woman right now! And I can use all the time I can get to make more!...I made these yesterday...

Imagine what I could do with MORE time!! ^_^

In the way of updates, our 'virtual date night' went well yesterday. No, we didn't decide to go to France. Instead we went to Japan. :-) I wasn't all about the raw food...sushi and stuff...YUCK!...so we had chef salads, Cape Cod chips, and Friendly's banana split ice cream instead! ^_^ It was a very good date!

As to the job interview hubby had mid-week, they were suppose to call him yesterday to let him know, one way or the other, about whether he got it or not....We didn't get a call...We're not reading anything into it. Maybe all the talk about "Sandy" side-tracked them...*reaching!*...or maybe they weren't through with the other people's interviews yet. Whatever the case, I'll let you know when there's any further developments.

The last update is that my memory foam for the bed has arrived!!!! YAY!!!! We're hoping to find some time today to put it on the bed...some time before or after we do some letter writing, making phone calls, checking on hubby's mother, finish studying our "Watchtower" magazine, having breakfast, lunch and dinner :-), and gathering the preparation stuff for hurricane Sandy's arrival!...

1. Get more batteries for the radio
2. Make sure the cell phone jack works in the car
3. get more water
4. get more canned food
5. Fill the car with gas (in case gas station pumps aren't working)
6. get a few dollars in cash from the ATM (in case the banks have no electricity)
7. Call my mother-in-law and see if she wants to ride out the storm with us again
8. Centrally locate my flashlights, candles and matches
9. Make sure all the pieces to the board games are accounted for ((Hubby is gonna be a bear without his "Spider Solitaire! ^_^)
10. Make sure my bouncy, happy music is at the ready! :-) ...I mean, I don't wanna go outta my mind in here!! ^_^

Okay,  I'm off to get this list scratched off...including a few other things I'm not gonna put on this list!...like my sense of humor and a few other non-material things...I didn't put them on the list because some things you just don't need...or want!...to know! Trust me! ^_^

Have a good day, and a good weekend, Y'all!!

"...Slower Than A Herd Of Turtles Stampeding Through Peanut Butter"!

WOW!....Everything has been sooooooo slow over the last few days! And it's not just me either!...even though I've been one of the things that has been slow. After sleeping a bit longer at night, I find myself moving like a snail once I get up....

...and even after I'm up, and a little while has passed by, I'm still a bit slow and distracted...That may just be temporary though. I'm working on some projects not related to crocheting, blogging or writing...

...And then, of course, the U.S. Open tennis tournament started on yesterday too! :-)

All of these things are making me...

...No, they're not making me a 'slow cooker'! :-)) ...Although I have been hungrier than usual!...

And no, they're not making me a slow 'sign' either!...I haven't been that stationary! LOL

But, if he wanted to, because he's the one dealing with me in this slow state, my husband could say to me:...(Quote)...

     ^_^ ....*I LOVE that button!!*

But, as I said, it's not just me that's been slow!...I've made a few phone calls the last few days to places, looking for information, and it taken FOREVER for them to return a phone call...if they do! I'm still waiting for a return phone call of an urgent request I made  three days ago!! O_O

And even uploading photos here on Blogger.....S-L-O-W!!!!...as is everything else I've been trying to load or upload or update or download over the last few days! O_O ... Maybe it's just me....or my online server...but still!!

Anyway...slow or not...everything will still get taken care of, right?! I mean, Look! I actually got the blog up today! ^_^ .....slow,...and late, very late!...but up!....Hey, speed isn't everything!...

Sometimes you have to settle for reality.  ^_^ I'm.....

And I may be slightly delusional too!... ^_^...but that's not from slowness. That's from me believing the sweet words of a certain 'Big Bird' husband of mine! :-)) Hey! His slow spoken sweet words are good enough for me!...even though I know he probably has his own agenda going ^_^ ...and even if I am a little 'Snuffaluffagus-like' in wanting to acknowledge it!!! LOL...Mine is not to question why! Mine is just to......get the two of us ready to take our delusional act on the road then!! LOL...Have a good day, Everybody....and speed it up, will ya!! ^_^

Where would I be without a sense of humor?! ^_^ ...Probably somewhere SLOWly going insane!!.....Are you laughing?!!! ^_^

'Vintage' And 'Crochet'...In The Same Sentence!

It's taking me a 'minute' {sarcastically said} to get myself started this morning after the long, relaxing (for the most part, that is) weekend.  But color...and crochet...can always perk me up! :-) That's why I was enthralled at the post Blooming Lovely did a couple of days ago. she pointed attention to a blog that was doing a post on the top 20 signs that you are a craft addict...I had to go look...but, of course, I already knew I wasn't!!! LOL
Cut to me looking through tons of pattern books! ^_^ Proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am NOT a craft addict....I'm not! O_0 ......I already shared with you on Sunday the prize of old vintage patterns I found in an old Dritz magazine I have! Today I want to show you an old Jack Frost magazine/book I have!
But first, let me just share with you the treasury that Ashley of the shop Fringe and Flourish  curated. She did it out of the etsy favorites of  Cindy, of the blog CinLynn Boutique.
The treasury is entitled Cin's Serenity. Cindy did a post on her blog about it too...HERE. There are some really cute items in it. She included my Sunny Yellow Button Flower Necklace.
      Thank you very much Ashley...and thanks to you too Cindy!! :-) {Cindy, you're always so supportive of me and my shop and I want to thank you for that. It means a lot!...In fact, a big thank you goes out to all of you who've taken the time to look through my shop, do write-ups on me, my blog or shop, or who've actually gone a step further and said nice things after being giveaway recipients of something I've crocheted, or have been customers of my Wuglyees shop on etsy. I don't take any of it for granted...just saying. :-]}
      Okay.....on to the 'Old Stuff'!!
This Jack Frost magazine/book has vintage patterns for handbags.
Aren't they gorgeous?!! Oh Yeah! I can see me making some of these! In fact, some of them look like bags people would actually be carrying today! 'Everything old is new again', somebody said!.....That doesn't, however, apply to people and their decrepit old bodies! LOL Everything old, in that respect, is getting older and older all the time!! ^_^
Moving on!.....Look at the cute things in my Gloves and Mittens magazine/book.
           Cute little gloves....especially these...
Of course...there's flowers on 'em!...I had to look at them close at first. I thought they were thumb-less! But they're not. The thumb part is just not outlined.
And how about these cute shoes, boots and slippers in this other book I have?!
       Crocheted boots y'all!!!!
And shoe-type sandals!! :-) I'm telling you, they knew how to create back in the 'olden days'!! LOL Okay.....so it wasn't 'that' long ago!...Pretty cool vintage crochet, huh?! :-)
I really have to do some crocheting today! I just have to make up my mind on 'what' to crochet!...I've been really lazy about it the last few days. I think the whole ant/hummingbird thing threw me off...especially since that's the only thing hubby wants to talk about now! LOL
If he's not running to the window to check and see if any ants are on the feeder...which there hasn't been for a couple of days now. Hooray!!...he's running outside with the spray water bottle and knocking them off with a blast every time he sees one! LOL I wish I was aware enough to take some footage of it y'all. He has just been hilarious!!!
The funniest was when I was on the phone talking to my dad and all of a sudden there was a blast of water shooting at the window! I look up and it's hubby, with a ant repellent spray bottle in his hand, spraying toward the bottom of the hummingbird feeder!! I panicked and started screaming to him not to put 'that stuff' on my feeder where it might hurt the hummingbirds...but he couldn't hear me!
My dad was cracking up as I was talking loud non-stop, and waving at hubby to stop, but he was waving me off and continuing to spray because he had his eye on some ant that had the audacity to put ant feet on his hummingbird feeder!! ^_^
He finally came into the house to see what I was yelling about, and proceeded to tell me that he only had water in the bottle. It was a recycled contraption of his!....UGH!!!! He was very pleased with himself that he had 'got that ant!!!'....My father, before we hung up, told hubby to please not kill all the birds in Massachusetts!! LOL He felt that hubby could just change careers from being a bread man to being a dead-bird-picking-up man! LOL
The two of them......Ha!.....Mr. Funny man and Mr. Wug, the recycled spray bottle, dead bird picking up man!! ^_^
Okay......off to find something to do. Maybe crochet!!! :-) Have a good day everybody!!!
