      Don't look for anything too deep from me today!...I'm having a terrible case of 'jet lag' after our quick trip to the home of 'Big Ben' yesterday. ^_^ ... Okay!...That's not the real reason the blog is late today...The real reason is that I gave myself permission to sleep in late!...So there!! LOL

      It stops me from being a 'Grumpy Gal'!...

Could You Stay In Bed This Long?!

     I know I do a lot of talking on this blog...and a lot of 'showing off people's cute stuff'...and a lot of bird and backyard watching. And I love every minute of it! :-) But I saw something on my local television station's online site (WWLP on Facebook) last night that made me really wanna talk about it today!!!

     It fascinated and intrigued me!..Why?!...Because it involves people staying in the bed for a looooooooooong time!! ^_^ And I'm not talking two days long time. I'm talking more than two months long time!! O_O

      Apparently NASA...the National Aeronautics and Space Administration...is looking for volunteers who are willing to lie in bed for 70 days!...70 days!!! That's it, just lie there!... And your reward if you make it?!.....$18,000!!! :-) ...Uhhhhh....let me see...what do I have planned for the next couple of months!! LOL...

      Apparently there's a study being done to research the effects on the human body of long-term spaceflight. The kind where you're strapped in for weeks. They'll pay volunteers about $18,000 to do it...but you can't get up! You can read books, play on the computer, watch TV, even work, but you have to stay on that bed, lying down...for 70 days!...*blink! blink!*

         Could you do it?!...Could you forgo everything else going on, and just lie in a bed for 70 days...in order to collect $18,000?!!!....Uhhhh YEAH!!!! ^_^ I KNOW I COULD!!! I love my bed!! :-) As long as I could nap...and eat something good...conduct some Bible studies...and do my blog...and crochet...and chat on Facebook and Twitter every once in a while...I'd be in!!! :-)

'Wood' You Like To See?!!

      Another day is upon us, People! And, thankfully, ours here in Holyoke is gonna be 'rain free' today! :-] I should say the 'rest' of it will be rain free. We had some rain overnight. I know it was rain, not because I was standing in it getting wet, but because my aching bones told me!!...OUCH!...My aching bones talk too much!! ^_^

     But there's always an 'UP' side. The up side for me today is that I don't have any doctor's appointments, and it's my Thursday meeting night, before my Friday date night! :-) YAY!!!...But WOW! This week went by fast, didn't it?! O_O Let me see....Monday I was......no, no....Tuesday was the day......UGH!....I don't wanna talk about that!....Wednesday, yesterday.....hmmmmm....what 'was' I doing yesterday?! O_O ...See what I mean?!.....FAST!!!! LOL

      Anyway! I'm just gonna focus on 'today' right now.....Today...and some wooden items I've been ogling! :-)

       I love color!!...Oh! Have I said that before?! ^_^ "Uh...YEAH! You have, Wug!!" LOL...Okay, so I may have mentioned once or twice, or 80 or 90 times, that I really love color! LOL But this morning I wanna share with you a shop owner that I think likes color as much as me!..And she apparenting also likes a bit of crocheting....and doing creative projects!...almost as much as me too! :-)

     Her name is Iryna.  Her Etsy shop, irynabat25, is full to the brim with color and creativity! :-) ... I'm not gonna put her whole Etsy shop here on the blog, but trust me...you'll enjoy the 'browse through' if you go over to her shop and look around. :-]

     All of these made me smile this morning! :-) And frankly, I needed a smile this morning. I spent some time on the phone yesterday with some long distance friends. All of the conversations eventually ended on a positive note, but they also ended with me in hubby's arms, spilling a bucket-load of tears. :-(

      Ugh! This old sickly, aggravating, non-dependable world makes me angry sometimes!! Grrrr!...The reason is because I see so many of my friends...friends who wouldn't hurt a fly, and who have given, and given, and given of themselves over the years...going through such hard, un-deserved, struggles!! 

       Cancer, and cancer, and cancer, and CANCER!!!!! :-( It's not easy having and battling cancer, I'm sure! But it's also not easy for the loved ones who have relatives and friends with cancer either! It's like watching your loved one disintegrate in slow motion, right in front of your eyes. :-(

      Ah! I'm sorry to be 'Debbie Downer' this morning. But I was so angry with cancer and illness last night, that I couldn't just do my post as usual today without mentioning it...Yes, I know a lot of you are dealing with illness and problems too. That's why I'm gonna leave you with the words one of my girlfriends said to me last night...Well, both of them said similar things really!...But first let me show you the newest boutonniere in my shop! :-) ...

 

     Sorry. I had to have SOMETHING positive in this post...after the color...and before the words to live by! :-]
      Anyway!....Both of my girlfriends said, and I'm paraphrasing, 'Just keep doing what you're suppose to do! Oh yeah, life is gonna come at you! But it can't do nothing to you that Jehovah God can't undo in his own due time! And if death is to be, our job until then is to have faith, and keep breathing and living, until we die!'
     Yep!...Agreed! And that's what I plan to do! :-] Besides, I don't have the ability to change things! So, what good would it do to spend my time moping about it! That's not gonna be of any good to anybody! And my friends need me!...Positive....Crazy....Colorful...Old....Me! LOL

Going...Going.....ALMOST Gone!

    No, I haven't been off enjoying the sunshine!...although the snow 'is' going...

      You can see in the above photos that the neighborhood cat can walk through the leftover snow and not disappear now! He's just leaving behind a couple of paw prints! LOL

      No, I haven't been off enjoying the sunshine...What I 'have' been doing is enjoying my hubby's company! :-) Forgive me! I gave up doing an early blog this morning...for catfish, hash brown casserole, grits and biscuits...*hanging my head*...I'm sorry....sorta! ^_^...Okay, I'm 'not' sorry! Not one bit!! LOL Sometimes when you're married for 30 years you have to make the hard decisions!! ^_^

     Now that I've lollygagged my way through this Monday morning...YIKES!!! O_O I've got stuff to do! I've got to finish this blog, photograph and list some crochet necklaces I just realized I never photographed or listed!!...O_O...Here's a few of the shots of them that I already did...

           Do you believe that I had these many necklaces done and never listed them?! O_O Well, if this is unbelievable, you should see the boxes of scarves!!! LOL (They'll all be in my Wuglyees shop soon!)

      Anyway!!.....Before I put the necklaces online, I have to list the new boutonnieres and lapel pin that I made last night...

      Two of them are replacements for ones that sold...In fact, that's something else I have to do this morning...ship a package!...I also have a custom order that I'm working on!

     While my head is down taking care of all of this, my husband, with his now full stomach, will be fixing my jewelry box that he broke! Grrrr!...My jewelry box that he said he 'didn't' break! But here's the story: He was putting a card into the jewelry box drawer...or at least that's where he was 'suppose' to be putting it!...Instead he, against my urgent pleading for him not to do it! Grrrr!, put the card into one of the little drawers that flipped up to close.
     I said: "Nooooooooo! It'll go over the back and you won't be able to get it out!!!!"....He ignored me, closed the drawer, and opened it back up to show me how it was gonna stay....but it was GONE!!!!....GRRRRRRR!
      Then he had to empty the jewelry box in order to shake it out! O_O He couldn't get it out...so he handed it to me. When I flipped it over.....*sigh*...the mirror fell out, and the handle and frame of the door broke and fell off. :-( ...Did I mention that my jewelry box is wood...and over 35 years old?! :-(
      Sooooo...when he says 'he' didn't break it, I beg to differ!!! LOL If it hadn't been for his not listening to his loving, helpful wife, my 35 year old jewelry box would still be sitting there, minding it's own business, holding jewelry!...some of it as old as it is!!...But Nooooooo!...Now it's sitting there, all wicky wacky, with super glue and manly fingerprints all over it!! LOL...I'll get over it...I will. Just give me a few hours....while my catfish and grits digest! ^_^
       It's a good thing my husband has a lot of other 'good' qualities!...If not, this breaking stuff all over the house because he thinks he knows how to do everything...and faster!...could really start to get on my last nerve!!!....Oooooo! O_O I sound kind of annoyed, don't I?!....Yeah!!!....But nothing a back-rub and a bunch of flowers couldn't cure! ^_^ I'll work on that! LOL
     WOW!...Now that I've talked about it....annoyance gone! :-] I hope all of your annoyances go away as fast today. :-) Have a good one!...{By the way, I have a whole 'two' questions now! Any more?! ^_^}

'Owl' Find An Owl Anywhere...And For Anything!

      Yep! More owls!....and cute owls too! And I wasn't even looking for owls yesterday! They just kept popping up! ^_^ Okay...so I guess owls 'are' really a 'thing' now! LOL I guess when you can sleep in a tree all by yourself...in the dark...and rotate your neck almost 270 degrees in either direction...it makes you kinda popular! ^_^

      Speaking of popular!...my Wuglyees shop is doing soooo well right now! It's kinda awesome....and makes my fingers kinda busy...all the time! ^_^ I guess I'm gonna have to face the fact that I'm now getting what I wanted way back when I was 'grumping and moaning' about nobody paying attention to my poor little flower 'babies'! :-]

      It's the nicest experience to be sought after...in a very creatively good way. :-) But I also have to make sure that I make time for the 'more important things' of my life...like my spirituality, and my husband! Neither one of which are made out of yarn!...And my husband is definitely not a flower! LOL

      Unfortunately that also means that some things have to be cut out...or cut down on...like time! *Boooo...Hissssss!* ^_^ I don't have as much time to play Scrabble, watch old movies, or read all of your blog posts like I used to. :-( ... I still do all of these things, but just not with the regularity or fervor that I had time to do them with before!

      So please forgive me if I don't comment like I did before. That doesn't mean that I'm not reading them necessarily. It just means that I'm now getting my giggle...my serious thought...or a good idea...'on the fly', instead of sitting there in ponder mode!...like an owl in a tree! :-] ...

        What is it with me and birds?...especially chickens?! O_O ... Let me see...My book of poems is themed around them...

       ...My description for the book talks all about how I remember chickens behaving in the yard when I was a little girl!

     ...I'm bird-watching all of the time in my backyard now!...And a lot of my expressions are about how they fly, or how scarce their teeth are! ^_^ ...And every time I see something on Etsy with a bird or chicken theme to it....I'm in!!...What is that about?! LOL

    Anyway!...Today the thing I'm talking about...chicken-wise, or rather, hen-wise, is 'time'!...

      Time is as scarce as hen's teeth in my house these days! O_O And in case you didn't know it, hen don't have teeth! LOL...Just like I don't seem to have any time!...I've been on a kind of schedule....kinda! I have studying, blogging, eating, and sleeping...i.e. napping! ^_^ ...down to a science! LOL

     But lately, with friends of mine seriously ill, and my shop selling regularly, time seems to just be flying the coop!!...

     I look down and see all the things I have to do written on paper, and then I look up and....there's no time to do any of it, it seems!!...And yet, my creative brain is always working!...

     These are some of the things it's been working on lately!...
 

      I've been really fighting with myself over the button...or no button...thing lately....Do YOU have a preference?!...Most of these are already in the Wuglyees shop. The others will be soon...if I can find the time to list them!! (Just click on the photos if you're interested in them.)
