      Happy Sunday, Everybody! :-)...Notice that I didn't say happy 'Pancake Sunday'. I think I'm all done with pancakes!...They don't make me feel good anymore, so they must GO!! ^_^ Yep! That's the kind of girl I am! If something...or someone...makes me not feel good, and makes me raise the emotional wall...it's a solid 'GOODBYE FOREVER!' :-)) And pancakes have made me raise the wall!...and put up iron bars!...and man a lookout!! LOL

      And I've had to spend every emotional penny I had to do it too!! LOL...Okay. Enough, Wug! ^_^ ... Sorry. I had to find a way to transition into my post about coin purses. ;-) I had to stretch my emotionally walled-in mind to do it too!! LOL

       Let me explain by saying:...IT'S RAINING!!!! O_O UGH! And it's been raining since yesterday morning!!...So much for weather forecasters and their sunshine predictions!! LOL The funniest thing was that one of the weather people said yesterday that we were going to have "showers off and on all day. Mostly off!"...Huh!...Somebody told him wrong!! :-)) It rained all day...steady!...I think I even saw an occasional cat...or dog!! LOL

      So, what am I doing this morning?!...Looking for sunshine wherever I can get it!!...and finding some sunshine in a place where I could put all of my millions.......of pennies! LOL...was a good place to find sunshine! And a good something to make me smile. :-) Enjoy!!...

I'm Talking About 'WONDERFUL'!!

      I wanna talk about something 'wonderful' today!...And yes, I know it's a long shot trying to find something 'wonderful' to talk about today, when over 10,000 people are reported to have died in the devastation of typhoon Haiyan...:-( ... and cold weather is shooting up the coast toward us (including maybe....snow! O_O).

      My 'wonderful' almost wasn't gonna include any Etsy items today!!...That's because the whole Etsy activity feed, where I scroll and find items to share with you, was full of Christmas items!! O_O Christmas items!...when Thanksgiving hasn't even gotten here yet!! O_O

      The truth is that I don't celebrate either of those holidays anyway, or 'any' holidays really, so I wouldn't focus on them as a usual course. But I sure didn't wanna have to be wading through Christmas and holiday items just to find something 'wonderful'!...but wade through...I did! :-) And I did find some 'wonderful' too!!...

        I have one more bit of 'wonderful' to share too...A 'wonderful' conversation hubby and I had after we read the day's text this morning. (The day's text is titled "Examining The Scriptures Daily". It's a Bible scripture and comment in a little booklet that we read every day along with a portion of the Bible that we read)

      Today's text led us into a conversation about what he and I would do if we suddenly received two million dollars. Ha! Ha!...And if you saw the text you would be wondering how in the world did they get into that conversation from that scripture! ^_^ So that's not the 'wonderful' part!

      The wonderful part came when he and I talked through our receiving the 2 million dollars! ^_^ The conversation went 'something' like this:

      "But what would we do with two million dollars?! O_O"

    "We'd pay the 'tax man' at least 1/3 of it! LOL"

      "Right!...but then we could buy a new car!! :-)"

    "Yeah...and we could put all of the modern gadgetry in it...GPS...a T.V. for entertaining the nieces and nephews...a good music system..."

      "Yeah...but we'd also have to put an alarm on it, and buy one of those 'beep! beep!' things for it, so that we could start it from inside the house during the snow and bad weather!! :-)"

    "Well, why don't we just buy a new house...with a nice heated garage?! ^_^"

   "Yeah!...and hire somebody to come over and shovel for us during snow storms! ^_^"

      "You know why we don't do that?!...because then we'd have to do a whole records search on whoever we'd hire! Ha! Ha!...I can just see it now!...some dude we hire to shovel for us steals our car, which has our address in it, and the extra set of house keys in the glove box (for the times when we lock ourselves out of our alarm laden house! ^_^) ...Then he steals our bank account...with whatever money was still in it after the hackers got into it! O_O...

      The thief/snow shoveler doesn't leave us a penny!...and now we can't afford the mortgage on our fancy, expensively protected house!...and we can't afford another car...and we don't have jobs because we left them once we found out we had 2 million dollars!!...

      We get kicked out of our home!...The relatives don't wanna put us up, because they were jealous of our money and now wanna gloat in our fall...We can't get low-income financial help from any programs because of what our income was for the year!...and we end up homeless, and having to rely on the kindness of our friends!!!!" O_O

      "Wake up call!!!!...WOW! O_O...So honey, isn't it wonderful that we don't have 2 million dollars?!! ^_^"

     Ha! Ha!...Yes I know, bloggers...that's taking the negative side of being rich!...But since there's no chance of us getting 2 million dollars out of nowhere and becoming the rich Wugs down the street, I think it's still good! LOL

If Your Taxes Didn't Take All Of Your Money...!

     Most of you won't know about this, but it's "Tax Day" here in the U.S. The last day to file your taxes for the year. For those who have taxes due, it's gonna be a day of scrambling for last minute paperwork, nail biting, and frustration! But for those with money due back to them, it may be a day to sit down and figure out what they can buy with their new found riches! ^_^

    If you're in the latter group, you might wanna consider one of the items I'm sharing with you today...items that just caught my eye...and NOT because I have money due back to me!...because unfortunately I don't!! ;'_'; In fact, we had to pay back almost $800 this year!!!...a big chunk of what my little Wuglyees shop made this year!...*sigh*

    Speaking of which, to those of you with a tax refund windfall, if you wanna spend some of your new found 'dough' in my shop, how about this ^_^ ...

      Okay, so it's clear...I like knit and I like crochet baby items...and I I love green! :-) ... But I also love flowers!...and speaking of flowers...

Is Being A 'Bag Lady' A Bad Thing?!

       I am almost embarrassed to tell you how many bags, purses, clutches, totes and pocketbooks I've bought over the years!...*head hanging down*...I've even been referred to as a 'bag lady' by friends. ^_^ Maybe one of these days my embarrassment will lift and I'll show you some of them...YES! I do still have quite a few of them!! LOL

       The truth is though that my friends could just as quickly have called me a 'yarn lady'...'shoe lady'...'jewelry lady'...'scarf lady'...'bead lady'...or 'catfish lady'!! LOL I've had a few loves over the years! ^_^ 

       What can I say...somebody had to use, carry or eat them! Why not me?! ^_^ Anyway!!...even though I don't go anywhere that requires me to carry a ton of stuff in a bag these days, I find that my head still turns as soon as I see a cute bag!

         Case in point, wallah!...

      I saw this cute blue and white striped bag and my mind immediately started doing the 'question bag list'!...How long is the strap?...Is it washable?...Does it have a lot of pockets?!...Does it have a clip hook inside for my keys?!...Will my kitchen sink fit in there?! LOL

      ...all the years of beautiful weddings and receptions of my friends came flooding back to my memory. :-] ... Of course, some memories of us girls in the bathroom trying to find a safety pin to hold something up that just fell out...or down...also came flooding back!! LOL And where did we always find the pin?!...You guessed it! In the pocketbook! ^_^

       Oh yes! I love a good bag! :-) ... And nowadays, with me being a boutonniere making fool, I'm always keeping my eyes open for a good place to keep my colored threads! :-)

      In cases like that, the bigger and wider...the better!! :-) The above bag is perfect for that!! :-)

       If I had a perfect bag in my mind though, it would have to be green...have a handle to hold it with, and a strap long enough to toss it over my shoulder...it would be leather...and it would have a flower designed button somewhere on it!!

        Well, look-a-here!! ^_^ ...

        Perfect!!!! :-) ... Now all I need is somewhere to carry a bag, some money to buy a new bag, and a hammer to hit myself in the head if I buy another bag!!!! LOL What? O_O Is being a bag lady such a bad thing?!!!...How many bags do you have?!...And if you're like my girlfriend who doesn't own even ONE bag....don't tell me about it! You're just gonna make me start asking questions!! ^_^

My pocketbook!

I start the 2nd day of my new blog by saying first, Welcome to my backyard! Then, I say: I LOVE EARLY MORNINGS!!! And No!...it's not because I hardly ever get a whole night's sleep and I BETTER love early mornings!...Although I won't discount the small truth in that statement. No,...I love the quiet, the time to mentally plan, work problems out, get some studying done without distractions, watch an old movie, and you know it...CROCHET!

      In fact, I just took some time a few mornings ago to finish a chocolate brown purse I've been working on. The initial crocheting of the purse was easy...crocheting is like breathing to me now! But the figuring out of whether to put a zipper in it and have it be a clutch purse, or whether to crochet straps, put a flap over it, put a lining in it, or add handles and let that be that, was mind consuming and tedious! The pictures included show what I finally decided to do...Don't look for zippers, straps, or a lining. 

 The part you can't see of the purse is the inside, where I had to sew the handles on, then crochet 4 squares and sew them OVER the handle ends! I figured MY frustration shouldn't be YOUR frustration, having to look at it!!!...The end result came out pretty good though, even if I do say so myself! And it reminded me of this corny poem I wrote MANY years ago...Be kind! I know this one is not that good, but it's mine! And like a newborn ugly baby, some things you just have to accept, and move on!
