Toasted Almond Never Looked Better! :-]

https://www.etsy.com/listing/157421515/ceramic-heartromantic-gift?ref=favs_view_13

Let me start this post with an apology to any readers who were wondering where the blog post was earlier this morning. :-) I'm sorry...I know I'm reeeeeeally late getting it up! O_O My excuse?!.....Ummmm.....Uhhhhh.....distraction?.....busy-ness?.....Gone temporarily crazy?...How about some of all of the above!! LOL
Distracted because I was involved in my Etsy activity search 'room'...like I always am! ^_^ But it was a wonderful distraction! Look at what I found...first being those beautiful hearts in the header photo, and then this!...

The cutest hand-painted brooch ever! (above)...And the cutest lunch bags ever! (below)...

As I mentioned, I was also busy...Busy crocheting some new things to put in the Wuglyees shop! :-) One of them being this cute flower owl necklace!...

https://www.etsy.com/shop/wuglyees?section_id=6240488

I'm not sure if this one will stay mine though. I'm thinking of giving it to a certain sweet little girl that sent me a hand-drawn, hand-colored, 'Thinking Of You' card....Well, not a card exactly. It was on construction paper. :-)
She drew hearts and flowers all over it, and...with her sweetheart crafty self! ♥...made me a little floral bracelet too!!!! :-) The bracelet was wrapped around the folded letter/card, sorta like a rubber band closure. ^_^ I love it!...And every time I think of her, I put the bracelet around my arm and smile at it....and at her thoughtfulness. ♥  So...this may be heading her way...

https://www.etsy.com/shop/wuglyees?section_id=6240488

...Or this brooch pin I made...

I didn't want to assume she likes pink just because she's a girl. :-) I'll have to find out from her mom. ^_^

Anyway!...NOW we can talk about the toasted almond!! ^_^ Toasted almond is the DMC embroidery thread color of the new wedding boutonniere and groomsmen pins I just finished! :-) ...

https://www.etsy.com/shop/wuglyees?section_id=6726578

I wasn't sure how it was gonna look when it was paired with the white, on the boutonniere for the groom...but, I have to say, I really like it!!...

https://www.etsy.com/shop/wuglyees?section_id=6726578

It's like toasted almonds and milk! LOL...

https://www.etsy.com/shop/wuglyees?section_id=6726578

The customer preferred the clutch back pins, because she wasn't sure if the groomsmen suits had buttonholes for the fold-able pins.

And here's where the crazy part came in!! ^_^ What would I give the customer as a FREE gift?!...I always send a free gift to my customers, but what do you give to a couple about to get married?!...Hmmm...I didn't wanna send them any of our freezing cold weather, or snow...even though we have plenty of that! LOL
And I didn't wanna send something with a bunch of wild colors all over it...especially considering the fact that they chose 'toasted almond' as a wedding color! O_O So, I had to make something....FAST!!...

https://www.etsy.com/shop/wuglyees?section_id=6726578

I made a matching keychain! :-) I figure...eve though they're getting married, they'll still need to have keys with them....to SOMETHING! LOL And now they can hook their keys to this flower on their wedding day, and still be matching!! ^_^ ... Matching...and not locked out!! LOL...Hmmmm...that sounds like a good motto for marriage.....Maybe I should've written them a poem!! ^_^ Oh well, what's done is done now!! :-)
That includes this post!....DONE! :-) Have a good day, Everybody! ♥

New Bride

As we all see you walking
down the flower covered aisle,
we won't be able to stop crying,
as we sit there with a smile;

Because we all will, by then, know
not the what, but yes, the who,
turned your fears of being single
into hopes of love that's true.

Just A Little Peek At My New Wedding Crochet Brooch Set!

I just have to apologize right off the bat this morning to any of you who are just sick to death of hearing me talk about my new crochet boutonniere and brooch set....Sorry. :-) But here we go again!!
I'm almost completely done with it, and I needed to do this post as a reference for anybody that wants to look at the whole package in my shop on Etsy. Etsy only gives you five slots for photos, and this big ole 'baby' needs to be seen in more than five photos! ^_^
First, let me show you the bride's brooch (on the right below) again...sitting alongside the flower girl brooch! (on the left below) :-) ...

The bridal brooch has an extra layer of petals around the outside, and is a little larger. But I figured that whatever little girl the bride chose as her flower girl, she would want them to look as special as her that day. :-)

And I also figured that the bride would want her bridesmaids to look beautiful, and feel special, too! Not to mention be unified, while they're by her side that day! :-) .... So I made these three bridesmaid brooches (below) for them! :-) ...

Now, men...generally speaking...don't like huge flowers on their lapel! So I grappled with how to make the groom look special, and stand out, without sticking a huge flower on him. :-)) I asked my hubby for suggestions and he said: "Make his white, but put some blue or silver in the middle.....Nah!...Not silver. Put BLUE in the middle!" So that's what I did...but in 'turquoise', not plain blue!! (groom's boutonniere on the left below) ^_^ ...

The tiny lapel pin on the right (above) is a ring bearer lapel pin. :-) ... Hey! Little boys have to look kinda special too, don't they?! ^_^

Speaking of boys...I also made three groomsmen boutonnieres (below)...

Hubby suggested that the groomsmen boutonnieres should be the opposite color design from the groom (turquoise, with white centers). {Of course, when people order them 'MADE TO ORDER' they can choose whatever colors they want!!! :-)

      That's the package! ^_^

1 Bride's 3-layer Brooch
1 Flower Girl Brooch
3 Bridesmaid 3-layer Brooches
1 Groom's Boutonniere
1 Ring Bearer's Lapel Pin
3 Groomsmen Boutonnieres
(Plus 2 FREE Mother's Brooches...for the mothers of the bride and groom)

All of the brooches, boutonnieres, and lapel pins can have either a brooch pin, a button, a foldable pin fastener, or a button clutch pin on the back, to wear them...depending on the customer's preference...

I've made a few with the new clutch pins on the back. Hubby really likes them!!...

By the way, I'm also gonna be adding an extra couple of brooches to the package as free gifts! ^_^ Two loopier, slightly larger brooches...for the mother of the bride, and the mother of the groom! :-) ...

The above brooch is one of the mother's brooches that I started last night. It's sorta like the groom's brooch...but bigger...and loopier! ^_^ ... The mother of the bride's brooch will look sorta like it, but with a silver center. :-) I may add them to this post later.

As of right now, the whole package will be about $110, plus shipping. I think a wedding is worth that, don't you?! ^_^ ... By the way, if you want to make the wedding package your own way...customize it!...here are the prices:

-- 3-layer Brooches = $11.00 each (add $1.00 for specialty threads, like the silver shown above)
-- Regular size Brooches and Boutonnieres = $10.50 each
-- tiny Lapel Pins = $9.50 each
-- Mother's Loop-Style Brooches $11.50
-- Bridal Necklaces = Add $1.00 to the price of any brooch (All of the brooches and pins can be converted and made with a leather cord, or a gun metal ball chain and bar necklace.)

Just give me your order by going over to my Wuglyees Etsy shop and leaving me a message in the "Contact the shop owner" section. Each package will be MADE TO ORDER within 2-4 weeks! (Sometimes shorter, depending on how busy I am at the time.)

     So there's my 'PEEK'! :-) ...

Now I'm off to get that mother's brooch finished! :-) Have a good day, Everybody!!

Lovely...and Favorite...Things For Your Wedding!

I wanna start this post by letting you know that all of the photos in it are from the Etsy shop FrenchKnotStudios. I'm telling you that 'right off the bat' because it's important to know!...especially for anyone that's planning a wedding! :-)
NO! I'm not planning a wedding! :-)) And I don't know why I'm talking to you about it...except that I don't have anything else to talk about besides my 'nosy' Etsy endeavors!! LOL So....weddings it is!! ^_^
Oh yeah, there is another reason. It's because this shop is GREAT!!!! I knew that right away when I saw the pocket square with the words on it: "Can't wait to marry you!" :-] Oh!!! What a great idea!!!...

I flashed back in my mind to over thirty years ago when hubby and I got married, and I thought about how sweet it would've been to give hubby a note like that to put in his pocket before we walked down the aisle!...Way to go Audrey!!...What a creative and wonderful idea!!
And after I saw the pocket square, I looked to the right, in her shop, and saw a photo of a guy in a tie, with a heart boutonniere on his chest...A heart boutonniere!!...Okay, now you know, being the crochet boutonniere queen that I am....at least in my own mind! ^_^ ...I just 'had' to look at the rest of the shop!!! LOL

The shop is full of great wedding items!!!...Just look at the ones that I loved!!!...

Yes, it's a photo album. But not just any old photo album. It's a personalized extravaganza!!! :-) Here's what the description says in her own words:

"Each album is custom made to your likeness. Your dress, colors, style, and wedding party. Even curly hair can be recreated with french knots. Send me an image of your bridal party, and I'll stitch it complete with your wedding date and "my whole heart, my whole life" or other 30 character phrase."
Is that fabulous, or what?!!!! :-) ... And Oh Yeah, here's the skinny tie and boutonniere pin I was talking about...

FABU!!! :-) ... And I'm honest enough to tell you that if these boutonnieres were crochet....you'd never have seen them!! :-)))) But as it is, any attention to the boutonniere business on Etsy does me a big favor! :-) So, thank you Audrey! :-)

     Now let's talk cake toppers! :-) ...

     ...plaid bowties!...

      ...and bridal bouquets!...

I love this shop!!! :-) It has just about everything you need for your wedding, and maybe even a few things you didn't know you needed for your wedding! :-) ...Can we talk curtain backdrops...ring bearer embroidery hoop kits...a golf bag boutonniere...and shoe clips!!

Audrey says that lovely things are her favorite things....MINE TOO, Audrey! :-) And your lovely shop is now one of my favorite things!! :-] Go by and check out the whole shop, Y'all...And have a good rest of the day too!...if there's any day left after you get through wandering around her shop! LOL

My Favorite People

My favorite people listen well,
and talk almost as good.
They like to eat good food,
and hang out in my neighborhood.

They like a chuckle now and then,
and dance when music's played.
And give nice complements...
and no! they haven't all been paid!

Some 'favorite people' are, I'm sure,
still ones I haven't met.
But until then, my favorites are
ones owed a 'loving' debt.

They've loved me through some heartache,
and the hardest, roughest time.
They're my favorites for a reason,
and deserve this 'Debbie' rhyme.

It's A Love Story...I remember....

I thought this beautiful photographic print of a heart-shaped cloud by AlBrydonPhotography was the perfect header photo for my post today. A post about love.

Two young friends of mine just got married last weekend. So young. So good-looking. So excited about what's ahead. So naive and ready for anything...or so they think. :-)) The same way almost all new love is! ^_^ I remember! Yeah, it's been almost 29 years since we got married, and actually almost 34 years since we've been together, but it's my body that's taken a beating by time...NOT my memories...thankfully. :-)

I remember hubby and I buying the cards and writing our invitations by hand...(They weren't as nice as the invitations by Sassyrae)

I remember me hunting for my dress...about a week or so before my wedding! {The dress was the last thing I had thought of! O_0 Isn't that unbelievable?! TRUE though!}...There was only 'ONE' white dress on the rack in my size. No alterations necessary!! And I paid some ridiculous amount for it...less than $100.00!...Waaay less, as I remember!

It didn't look like this beautiful Emily wedding dress, with the pretty train, by bridaldesignsbyerin,...
...but it was perfect for me. :-)

I also remember how exciting it all was for us...planning everything. Renting chairs and a champagne fountain from 'Taylor Rental', folding little paper ruffle dresses that would be used as centerpieces on the tables, picking out a song that would be 'OUR song' to dance to. We were so cheesy...and so in love. :-]
{Digital art images by greenvalley}

I remember that he was the most handsome man I had ever seen...besides my dad of course!...standing there, all six feet something, in his white tux with tails, and his white patent leather shoes. :-) And I remember our wedding cake...Okay, so I don't really remember the cake exactly! LOL What I remember is that one of my sister's made it, and that it was good!!! :-) It was CAKE people!!!
{Crocheted Wedding Cake by etty2504}

I remember my wedding day like it was yesterday. I hope that many years from now my young friends will remember their wedding day as vividly...and with as much love. :-) Even more than that, I hope that many years from now they will have even more memories of their life of love together. Just as me and my hubby have.

One more thing....I wish I had remembered my guests in as such a lovely way as our young married friends have! This is the favor wedding gift we got!
Isn't it pretty?! :-) I edited their names out for privacy reasons. They're on their honeymoon now. Incognito maybe! LOL...And what was inside of the box?!
I have another glass jewelry box!! A heart-shaped one too! :-)...Well, actually TWO!!
And Chocolates too!!!
Ummmmmmmmmm......
.....there goes another memory!!! :-)

When We Got Married

We got married in our town,
in a tiny little church,
with paint chipping everywhere
(like a white, long-standing Birch).

We were Oh-so much-in love;
and so our family could know,
we took pictures in the park-
(a week before the rice they'd throw).

It was 'tree-lined Park' sunshine
that poured down upon my face,
just a week before I'd wear
a long white dress, all trimmed in lace.

Dad drove me in his big car,
(all cleaned up, in white, like me.)
Jeff was late-so dad had to
drive around so none would see.

There was no room in the church
for a bride to hide from guests;
They all had to get there first-
(To not be seen was quite a test.)

Jeff made me wait-But it was fine.
He looked so good in his white tux.
He had washed his green Chevette.
It shined just like a million bucks.

My cousin, all dressed up,
opened the door and let me out.
Everything looked kind of hazy
through my veil, all round about.

My sister, oldest, was in front,
as we went, slow, down the aisle.
I just wanted to see Jeff,
down at the end-with his big smile.

We faced each other, hand-in-hand,
and I looked deep into his face.
He looked shocked! and when I smiled
he still just stared off into space.

Thankfully he said: "I do",
and when I did-there was a lull.
I later asked him what was wrong.
He said: "You were so beautiful!"

It was the heat of summer;
The year was 1982.
I became his wife-his 'Puddles'.
He became my 'Bae'-and 'Boo'.

We had a great reception
(Thanks to things from 'Taylor Rental');
And we had it in dad's house,
where I would dance with dad-real gentle.

We had a champagne fountain
(But Jeff and I drank apple juice).
I danced all day, without my shoes.
I was relaxed and feeling loose.

My sisters did the serving
of the food-but not for pay.
Everybody 'cut-a-rug!',
and jeff's best friend,was our D.J.

We drove south, to Florida,
for our one-week honeymoon,
with people honking all the way!
(It was a 'Just Married' car-tune.)

We went to 'Disney World',
'Cypress Gardens' and 'Epcot'.
We also visited 'Busch Gardens'.
(For just one week-we saw a lot!)

For two weeks after we got home,
by Love was how we both were fed,
'cause there wasn't any money.
(Without my biscuits we'd be dead!)

So-all these happy memories
are the reason for the core
of our marriage all these years.
And there will be many more-
If Jehovah takes the score!
