YIKES!...I Think We're 'In For It' This Time!!!

     Have you heard?!...We're having a snow storm!! O_O I can tell it's really gonna be a 'doozie' too, because it started this morning around 4:30 a.m. ... about 4 hours ago ... and we already have about 6 inches of snow on the ground!! O_O

     It's coming down so fast...and heavy! O_O I guess it's a good thing I have lots of videos 'at the ready', and lots of talking and crocheting to do! ^_^ ... (I'm working on some black boutonnieres and tiny lapel pins today).

     Imagine how much fun I'm gonna have watching the suet feeder...which is full now!...as birds come-a-running in the snow!.....But...uhhhh...so far..uhhhh...not a one has shown up!! LOL I guess they're out there flying through the mall, going from store to store like the rest of the people, buying window wiper fluid, snow blowers, shovels, de-icer, and snow tires! ^_^

     In the meantime, hubby is catching up on laundry, planning to cook all kinds of yummy things (including chicken wings! ^_^), and listening to music. NOT funk music though! We learned in a documentary type show last night, where the origins of 'funk' music came from, and WOW!!! O_O ... We'll never look at funk music the same again!!!! O_O

     

     So, what are you doing to pass the time during the storm?...(provided you're being affected by it.)

     It's gonna be a lot of work when it's all said and done, I'm sure! In fact, my girlfriend has already went out and shoveled her driveway twice, just trying to keep up with it!! O_O We're waiters.....Waiters for someone else to come by and shovel it!! LOL We just wanna enjoy the day off! :-]

       We know we're gonna be 'in for it' soon enough. Why hurry the process!! ^_^

     So, I hope your old movie stack is high, your heater is working well, your loved ones are not snow removers by trade (Ha! Ha!), and you have lots of Twizzlers, M&Ms, and cereal in the house...Ha! Ha! (That was a nod to Yaya's post this morning. You can read it HERE.) ... If you do, you're probably feeling good right about now, right?! ^_^ ... ME TOO!!! ♥

All My Plans Unfurled

With all my plans unfurled today,
and nothing urgent pressing me,
I might crochet another scarf
or have a steeping cup of tea.

I might watch an old movie,
or take a nap, just for a minute.
Or I might take out a book to read,
or jot a few nice words down in it.

When you don't have any children,
and no job to do from home.
You can stay in your pajamas,
and have hair you don't have to comb.

Yes, with all my plans unfurled,
there could be lots that I could do.
It's always true...I could be busy,
but kinda nice I don't 'have to'!

I Can't See Birds Or Flowers Today!!

     At least I can see flowers in this shop!...*sigh*...The snow has completely covered the backyard now...

     We're in the midst of a very bad winter storm. It started around 7 p.m. last night, and it's been coming down at a good clip since then! As a matter of fact, at around 11 p.m. we already had about 3 inches on the ground!!

     As of right now we may have as much as 6 inches!! O_O ...And now...there's freezing rain falling on top of it!!...It's gonna be such a good day.....NOT!!!

      I sure hope birds can eat food with 'freezer burn'!! LOL...Although, eating apparently wasn't their most important priority yesterday!...At least not from my feeder! O_O I heard them out there early yesterday morning, and then.....nothing...not a peep!...for the rest of the day! O_O Curious!

     I should have known at that moment that while the weather people weren't sure what kind of storm it was gonna turn out to be, the birds did!! ^_^ They 'high-tailed' it outta here before the storm hit! They're probably somewhere in Florida (waaaaaay south of here!) laying on a chaise lounge, with their little bird legs crossed, and sipping on some mint juleps next to a swimming pool!! ^_^ ...while people around here are buying road salt and de-icer and absconding from the stores with every kind of snow shovel known to man! ^_^

      They may also be looking for warm scarves, gloves and hats!...I say, if they are, I've got the scarves you need, and a few fingerless gloves and hats in my Wuglyees shop! :-) ...And if you're looking for really pretty hats...even I would buy these myself!...check out the shop where the above cashmere flower came from!...

      Funny story: Hubby and I were joking around last night about what people were probably doing during the storm. I jokingly said: "They're probably online shopping! ^_^ I'm gonna go over to my shop right now and there's gonna be a sale. You just watch!!!"

     He said sarcastically: "Righttttt! *wink! wink!*...Of course I was sure there wasn't gonna be a sale. I just was making a joke...Lo and behold, there wasn't "a" sale. There were three!!!!! ^_^ I was floored!! I mean...it's "AFTER" Christmas and I'm not having a sale in my shop!!! ^_^ ...Surprised?!......Surprised is not the word!....FLABBERGASTED!!! ^_^ ....and Oh Yeah!.....VERY happy!!! :-)

      Now I just have to wait for the storm to cal down some, and for the authorities to make the roads more drivable, so that I can get their items shipped! O_O ...The Postal Service may have the motto: 'Neither rain, sleet or dark of night, will stop us from getting your packages to you,....' Or something like that! ^_^...but "I" am NOT the postal service! I'm a falling 'white stuff' dis-liking Wug!! LOL

       I'm sitting here with breakfast in bed (eggs, bacon and oatmeal with peaches, cinnamon and honey)..."Thank You, Baby! :-)" ♥♥♥...waiting out the storm with my 6-foot honey. :-) I'm in no hurry to ship, crochet.......or flip left and right.......at this moment!! LOL 

      I'm sure that'll change this afternoon when the freezing rain and snow stops, so if anybody else wants to order something to be shipped 'NOW'S THE TIME'!! ^_^

      If you're snowed in, rain-soaked, hiding inside in your air-conditioning, or whatever.....what are you doing with your time?! :-] ... Whatever it is, have a good day Everybody!! {The poem below was not about this snow storm, but I think you'll get the 'drift'! LOL}

Snow TRAPPED!

TRAPPED! Another snow storm!
Will this "STUFF" never end?!
We've be wolloped, punched, and socked,
and now?! Another one on the chin!

'Adding insult to the injury',
there will be an inch of ice!
I guess winter thought we needed
just a little 'SCARY' spice!

Do I sound bitter? Sick of it?
About to lose my snowed-in mind?!
Well, that would be correct!
That is, the brain cells I can find!

TRAPPED! Sick of snow,
and it's icicles everywhere!
Good thing I have crochet!
It will replace my pulled out hair! 

No!...It's Not A Joke!!

    I thought that I'd deter away from food today...I'm still gonna eat it! I'm just not gonna show it to you! ^_^ Instead I'm gonna show you some bursts of Spring. After all today is the first day of April, right?!

     Pretty soon the flowers will be popping open to greet the ever-shining sun....

       ...and the trees in all their leafed splendor will be standing guard to make sure there's a place to dart off to when the sun gets too hot...But when?....When is this bursting sunshiny flowers and leafed tree Springtime scene going to start happening?!...O_0 March, so they say, is suppose to 'come in like a lion, and go out like a lamb'.

     You know what our weather forecast was for today?!

     It's a WINTER STORM WARNING!!! And No! It's not a joke either!! Number one, I don't celebrate any of the holidays, like April Fool's day. And number two, SNOW ain't no joke!!!...*shaking my head*
     Seriously 'Mr. Winter Storm Warning', you couldn't put your little gloves and coat away until next season.....SERIOUSLY???!!!! 

      I was kind of in disbelief when the bones and joints of my hands started to do that 'snow-aching' thing yesterday. Then, as the day went on, it proceeded to wash over my whole body, so that my whole body had that "It's gonna rain...or snow" feeling!....Snow?!....I said: "Nahhhhh!"

    And then we saw that weather forecast last night. And this morning, the snow starting  coming down,... all over my newly-cleared backyard!!...*sigh*
     I've got a full month of activity planned!! I don't have time for snow removal, wet snow boots on my floors, high heating bills, etc...!! I'VE GOT IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO!!!...

      I guess I better start learning how to have fun in the snow!....*sigh*...Maybe my friends can help me.

     I guess that's what I'll have to try to do today...Gather some friends for some fun!...I'll have to leave the beautiful look of Spring to Little Fox. Her FREE Desktop Calendar for April 2011 is here!

         Despite the fact that there's still lots of white stuff on the ground, she's feeling the Spring...in her heart. And via her beautiful Desktop Calendar, she's sharing it with us! :-) Thanks Mariann! It's good to have something around here that actually looks like Spring! It sure isn't the weather map!!....Although those weather people look pretty happy about that! UGH!


Happy Weather People

Weather people are so happy!
So excited about their maps!
Always smiling on the T.V.,
like there's sunshine in their laps.

They're a chitty chatty bunch.
Talking radars and jet streams.
Strangely when the weather turns
their eyes glaze over, and face beams.

I don't know how they are so happy
when there's snow and rain and sleet;
When they do outdoors reporting,
smiling, while with soaking feet!

The places that they go
are where most folks are running from!
Are they brave, selfless informants,
 or just really, really dumb?!

I cannot imagine
how they hold their heads up high,
when most folks can't stand their forecasts,
and they make folks want to cry.

They seem so proud and happy;
Fancy ties and great hair-dos!
Disgruntled comments bounce right off,
as do our frequent hiss and boos!!

The conclusion that I've reached
is that they have a 'Happy Gene'.
But, no doubt, they would just say
that they're reporting what they've seen.

Hey! They were not there
when wind and force moved things around!
But they're happy to be able
to now tell us where it's bound!
