I Think It Is!...I Think It Is!!!

      And just like that...YAY!!!...the real Spring is here! ^_^ How do I know?!...Well, those aren't pork chops, or the 'white stuff', hanging off the end of those branches!! LOL They're a new growth of leaves...soon to be flowers! :-) ...

      We've been waiting, and waiting, and waiting!! And finally the lawn is lush and green, the leaves are quickly sprouting on the tree branches, and.....I said: "AND"!... :-) ...And is that a hummingbird I see?!...

    No! Not in the cage!! LOL...although it's a beautiful cage! ^_^ No!...I see the hummingbird...or should I say: 'saw' the hummingbird!...fly by the window a few minutes ago!! :-) He's so quick!!..."Sorry Mr. Hummingbird. Hubby is not as quick as you!" ^_^

      If you look close in the above backyard tree photos you'll see that the wintertime suet bird feeder is still hanging there! ^_^ Not for long though. The hummingbird's 'buzzing the window' is a clear indication that it's time for hubby to 'get-to-making' some hummingbird nectar!! :-) 

      He won't be making the nectar today though. We're due to get rain here tomorrow. So he's gonna wait a couple days, instead of encouraging the sweet birdies to come out into the rain with their 'humming-umberellas'. :-))

      *deep breath*....*cough! cough!*...Yeah, it's that time again too!...Allergy season. Ugh! I've been sneezing, dripping, and wheezing a bit, for a few days. In the morning my first vocalizations sound like a 'scratchy-throated' Barry White!! :-)) ... ♫ "...The first, my last, my everything..." ♫ ^_^

      It's also time...I hope, I hope, I hope!...for pre-planning brides and grooms to start searching for new wedding ideas! :-) Reception venues, dresses, tuxedos, shoes, flower bouquets, clutch purses,...

Flowers To Cure What Ails Me!

     Hello, Y'all!...I hope all of you are doing fine. I'm still working on it. As of right now...after two more blood draws...YUCK!!...and a fever that seems to not want to go away and stay away...I' holding my own. While I'm awake I mean! :-) Frankly, there's been lots and lots of sleeping.
      The pretty flowers were a gift from some dear friends. ♥ They came with ginger ale, and all kinds of 'sick-girl-get-better' stuff! ^_^  

      So far the blood work has shown that my potassium was very low. So I have to eat a banana and drink orange juice every day...Doctor's orders!...That's not bad medicine, right?! :-)

      I have a few other weird things going on that I don't quite understand. Like apparently my sed rates are high?!...?????...I don't know what that means, but apparently it's not good! The doctors and nurses are kinda giving me that idea too!
      They don't have to tell me it's not good though. The fact that I haven't been wanting to crochet or talk or nothing was my clue!!...Oh well, whatever it is will show itself soon, I'm sure. They sure are poking me enough to find it!!! LOL
      Sorry I'm not more regular around here. Please hang in there a bit longer with me. My 'talker' will be back in full form soon, I'm sure! ^_^ ... On a good note...IT'S SPRING!!!! :-) It was bound to get here sooner or later...even if there's another snowstorm due here next week...Ugh!...Hey! I'll take good news any way I can get it these days!! :-)

Still Seeing Flowers Everywhere, But.....!

     Spring has brought all kinds of lovely things to the neighborhood...hummingbirds, rain...Grrrr!...pollen....Grrrr, Grrrrr!...and flowers. The flowers and hummingbirds can stay, but the rest.....UGH! I know it has a purpose in the big scheme of things, but in the little scheme of things...meaning 'MY BODY'!...it's not so great! 

     I've been having a rough time with allergies, aches and pains, and distraction. I haven't crocheted anything in about two weeks, except the two custom ordered boutonnieres and a free brooch I made to send with it!! O_O

     I'm still attracted to flowers everywhere, but I'm not in the mood to 'make' any!!...Does the 'Spring Bug' bite any of you and 'get you off your game' too around this time of year?!...whenever Spring happens in your part of the world?!...I'm hoping I'll get back to my 'busy-minded' and 'flying-fingers' self soon!...But in the meantime I'll just look at other people's flowers...and share them with you! :-) ...

      Maybe all of these pretty flowers will inspire me to pick up my crochet hook! :-)

     I have to admit though, that maybe Spring isn't the full culprit. A dear friend of ours died a few days ago and we've been kinda down about it. It seems kinda trivial to be just gardening and crocheting away when the family is in such pain.

     I'm not gonna spiral into negativity though, because we do look forward to seeing him again soon. Our faith holds us steady in that fact! It's just hard to know that his laugh and words of wisdom have gone silent for a while...especially because the family counted on it so much as a regular feature of their lives. :-( 

      To end this post on a positive note though, there's gonna be plenty of time in the near future to 'stop and smell the flowers'! :-) And flowers are always worth taking time to smell...or create...or crochet! :-) ... Yep! That'll do it!! I'm off to grease up my crochet hook right now!! ^_^ Have a good day, Everybody! :-]

All My Plans Unfurled

With all my plans unfurled today,
and nothing urgent pressing me,
I might crochet another scarf
or have a steeping cup of tea.

I might watch an old movie,
or take a nap, just for a minute.
Or I might take out a book to read,
or jot a few nice words down in it.

When you don't have any children,
and no job to do from home.
You can stay in your pajamas,
and have hair you don't have to comb.

Yes, with all my plans unfurled,
there could be lots that I could do.
It's always true...I could be busy,
but kinda nice I don't 'have to'!

It's Not Pancakes, But I'm Still Excited!!

      No, it's not pancakes! :-)) The pancakes are coming though! Hubby's already in the kitchen!...We're eating early, and getting all of our other morning stuff done, because "Company's Coming! Company's Coming!" LOL
       I remember my grandmother hollering that when I was little, when someone was expected for a visit. ^_^ I thought about it yesterday when I talked to my sister and she said she was coming by today. It's been a while! I'm excited!
       But that's not the 'excited' I was talking about in the header title. 'That' excited was the signs of Spring! I'm excited that I'm finally seeing signs in the backyard that it's not only here, but it's planning to stay a while! :-)
       Flowers are starting to pop up along the edge of the woods...and grow taller!...
 

      Leaves are starting to fill in my little tree outside my window...
 

      Pretty soon I won't be able to see through my little tree! :-) All I'll be able to see is my colorful little birds...and hummingbirds! :-)
 

    There's even little blue flowers growing already in hubby's flower bed...They may have to go though... :-( ...He's already gotten some seeds for whatever flowers he's putting in there..."Grow, little flowers, GROW!!!...Maybe you'll be too pretty to pull up!" ^_^
 

     Whatever! ^_^ ... Ahhhhhhhhhh!...I'm just glad to see some growth...of any kind! It means that Spring is finally opening up it's suitcase, and putting the clothes in the drawers!!! LOL....ACHOO!!!!!....O_O ...Uh Oh!!...Maybe I shouldn't be all that excited about it!! ^_^
        Tomorrow I have something else that's really exciting to share. It's a gift I was given yesterday!...In fact, I might need your help!...Stay tuned!...And have a good rest of the weekend! :-) ... Now...PANCAKE SUNDAY can begin!!! ^_^

Waffle Snob?!

I love the way the pancake runs
right off the side and down my plate!
But on a waffle it just sits
like sticky blocks in a crate!

I love the way a pancake looks,
like it's soft to the touch.
But that thing with lumpy grooves?...
I mean a waffle, not so much!

I like the way a pancake
almost melts in your mouth!
But a trip across my tastebud with a waffle?
...heading south!

Buttering a waffle
 is like corn on the cob.
The ears are perked up,
but it's a messy, slow moving job!

One day I'm sure I'll like 'em,
if they can stay warm enough.
But for now, let's just say,
Waffles get my nose rebuff!

Spring!...So That's What It's Suppose To Look Like!!!

     Is that?......Really?!.....Nahhhhhhh!....SUNSHINE!!!! ^_^ Yes!....Yes!...I think it is!........SPRING!!!!...'Bout time!!!! LOL

     I'm surprised that I woke up early enough to actually see it! LOL Hubby and I got back home very early this morning from our 'virtual' trip to Texas to see the FGCU Eagles play the Florida Gators!...*wink! wink!*...We only got a little 'cat nap' before the alarm clock went off at our usual 'get up' time...which is around 5 a.m.!!
      After we threw a shoe across the room and knocked the alarm clock off of it's perch, we went back to bed for another hour or so! ^_^ But now...there's sunshine in the backyard!!! :-)
       

     I'm happy to see the sunshine! The way my body was aching last night I thought we were gonna get rain!...That must've been just too much traveling! LOL

        Now, the days will be longer and I can get more stuff done!...That's the way it works in theory anyway! LOL

     Right now I don't wanna do anything except wake up completely...and get some tea and food in my belly!...All of those peanuts and popcorn at the game last night only made me hungry for some real food!! LOL
       Hubby just made me a scrambled egg, and some oatmeal with honey and peaches! I'm off to 'get my grub on'!! LOL...Sorry winter birds...
 

     ...your free meal ticket is over for this year!...We've got to prepare the area for the hummingbirds!! :-) We want 'Wug Backyard' to be a 'Drive-Up' for all of Jehovah God's birdie creatures!! :-]

Spring Is The Rain

Spring is the rain,
when the flowers grow again,
and new life is let remain.
After months of drench and drain,
you now see roses down the lane.

Spring is the rain,
and the budding of the grain,
and birds, out your window pane.
When the weather makes you sane,
and its no longer on your brain,
'cause there's no cold to give you pain.

Spring is the rain-
the time for traveling on the train,
for watching trees, not weather vanes,
and raking leaves-Autumn's disdain.

You think of seasons that were plain,
but now its blooming, down on Main,

February!!!.....And It's Spring!!....Sorta Kinda. O_0

        It's February 1st...FEBRUARY FIRST, PEOPLE!!!...and it's suppose to get up to 54 degrees (Fahrenheit) today!!!! O_O If this was southern California I'd say: "Okay!", but it's gonna get up to 54 degrees...in Massachusetts...in February!!

     Let's be honest, how many of you New Englanders, or north coasters, were expecting Spring in Massachusetts...in February?! O_O ...I'm confused now. Do I continue making hats because....because...we just might get winter after all...eventually?!...Or do I move on to the crochet jewelry, toilet tissue covers, and pocketbooks of Spring?!...SPRING!

        I have to decide because I'm all done with my latest hat and I'm just working on a replacement headband, and then I have to get another project going!...*sigh*...Well, I can show you the hat anyway!...

          Yep! A white one!

        So soft too!

       I agonized over which button to put on it...Can't you see the sweat on my brow?! ^_^ I couldn't decide whether to choose one with color, or to stay with the white theme. But I finally decided...

       I decided to stick close to the white color. After all....it's Spring!....sorta kinda. O_0 It's time for sunshine and warmer temperatures, daffodils and butterflies!....Not the time for snow (alias "the white stuff") and shovels, heavy soups and donuts with coffee......Well, let me re-think that last statement.....Hmmmm.....I need a visual...

       Doughnut Madness!!!! :-) ... Okay! I threw you a little bit of a curve ball. Maybe it "is" time for some doughnuts!! At least Aron and Ashley, from the blog Hither & Thither, think so!! :-) And they're New Yorkers...north easterners! :-) 

      They're enjoying the nice weather, but they're not rushing the seasons. They're enjoying the doughnut madness!...so why can't I!! ^_^ ...So let's keep the doughnut option on the table, Okay?!...and the coffee too...just saying! I mean...just because it's Spring...sorta kinda....that doesn't mean we have to get all tofu and celery stalks around here!....Not all the time anyway! ^_^

     Quick Updates: 1. Our car is still not functioning. :-( Although hubby thinks he knows what's wrong with it now....a blocked fuel filter. It's gonna have to be replaced this weekend;...

     2. Also, hubby has had a job change...of sorts. He changed routes. He used to have a route out of state. As of this week he'll be MUCH closer to home! :-) He'll be able to pop home during the day. Isn't that great!!!...

      His reasoning may not be all that great though. He's been worried about me. My health is not getting any better. Physically I'm showing signs of wear and tear...like an old roof on a hundred year old barn! LOL So, just in case I need him, he's switched routes so he can be here quickly if I need him.

     Considering the economy, I was a little worried about him making the move. His previous route was one that nobody else wanted to do! In fact, the new guy he showed it to...was flabbergasted that he had done it for as long as he did! And he was feeling overwhelmed that now it was gonna be his responsibility!! O_O

    So hubby was kinda NEEDED on the other route! Now it'll be different. Anyone can do this route without a problem...We're not gonna worry about it. Some things have to be put in the hands of the one who can do something about it! So we're keeping our trust in Jehovah. We know that, if push comes to shove, he can handle it! :-)

Spring!

I barely can wait for Spring.
With winter I've just had enough!
The ice on the sidewalks,
 and snow in the yard,
have been so depressing and rough.

I usually don't wait for the Spring.
I'm not a real fan of the bees.
My eyes fill with water,
and nose fills with pollen,
and my only pastime is a sneeze.

But this year I can't wait for the Spring!
I await how my nose has to blow.
My glee I can't hide.
I've been cooped up inside,
Emotionally tackled by snow!

No!...It's Not A Joke!!

    I thought that I'd deter away from food today...I'm still gonna eat it! I'm just not gonna show it to you! ^_^ Instead I'm gonna show you some bursts of Spring. After all today is the first day of April, right?!

     Pretty soon the flowers will be popping open to greet the ever-shining sun....

       ...and the trees in all their leafed splendor will be standing guard to make sure there's a place to dart off to when the sun gets too hot...But when?....When is this bursting sunshiny flowers and leafed tree Springtime scene going to start happening?!...O_0 March, so they say, is suppose to 'come in like a lion, and go out like a lamb'.

     You know what our weather forecast was for today?!

     It's a WINTER STORM WARNING!!! And No! It's not a joke either!! Number one, I don't celebrate any of the holidays, like April Fool's day. And number two, SNOW ain't no joke!!!...*shaking my head*
     Seriously 'Mr. Winter Storm Warning', you couldn't put your little gloves and coat away until next season.....SERIOUSLY???!!!! 

      I was kind of in disbelief when the bones and joints of my hands started to do that 'snow-aching' thing yesterday. Then, as the day went on, it proceeded to wash over my whole body, so that my whole body had that "It's gonna rain...or snow" feeling!....Snow?!....I said: "Nahhhhh!"

    And then we saw that weather forecast last night. And this morning, the snow starting  coming down,... all over my newly-cleared backyard!!...*sigh*
     I've got a full month of activity planned!! I don't have time for snow removal, wet snow boots on my floors, high heating bills, etc...!! I'VE GOT IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO!!!...

         Despite the fact that there's still lots of white stuff on the ground, she's feeling the Spring...in her heart. It sure isn't the weather map!!....Although those weather people look pretty happy about that! UGH!


Happy Weather People

Weather people are so happy!
So excited about their maps!
Always smiling on the T.V.,
like there's sunshine in their laps.

They're a chitty chatty bunch.
Talking radars and jet streams.
Strangely when the weather turns
their eyes glaze over, and face beams.

I don't know how they are so happy
when there's snow and rain and sleet;
When they do outdoors reporting,
smiling, while with soaking feet!

The places that they go
are where most folks are running from!
Are they brave, selfless informants,
 or just really, really dumb?!

I cannot imagine
how they hold their heads up high,
when most folks can't stand their forecasts,
and they make folks want to cry.

They seem so proud and happy;
Fancy ties and great hair-dos!
Disgruntled comments bounce right off,
as do our frequent hiss and boos!!

The conclusion that I've reached
is that they have a 'Happy Gene'.
But, no doubt, they would just say
that they're reporting what they've seen.

Hey! They were not there
when wind and force moved things around!
But they're happy to be able
to now tell us where it's bound!
