Holyoke In The Fall...Mr. Wug Style!
Have I told you before how much I love Fall?! ^_^ I suspect I have!...Even a whopping virus couldn't dampen my enthusiasm for it! And it's just the beginning of Fall too! Not everything is all splashed with color yet around here though. Some areas are still as green as green could be!...
...but can't you feel the Fall mood still?! :-) I think it's got something to do with the look of the sky, and the air...Or it could just be me! LOL If it's the last one....Shhhhhh!...Did I say 'sky'?!...Yes! Yes I did say 'sky'! :-] Sky in the mountains...
...Sky over the Mt. Tom entrance (below)...
Mt. Tom used to be a busy ski resort around here years ago. Now it's just a lair of copperhead snakes! O_O ...That might be a bit of an over-statement, but ever since I saw that a guy got bitten by one near there the other day, that's all I can think about it!...Oh! The questions hubby had to answer!!...*shaking my head*...(giggle)
Hubby took these photos (below) through Mt. Tom's fence...
Beautiful sky, right?! :-] Imagine how skiers would feel once they got up on the mountain, strapped some skis on, and....and......O_O...maybe I 'don't' wanna think about that! I'm getting a little queasy! LOL
Anyway!....as I was saying, not everything is splashed with color yet around here. But that doesn't mean that there's no color!...Hubby found these two beautiful flowers in one of the parks...
...And he found color beginning to pop in the hills...
...and in little areas around the river....the Connecticut river that runs along our area...
The river isn't splashed with color either, but it's river! If it was colorful that would mean it had a problem! LOL And just looking at it you can see that there's no problem here! :-)
I love Fall! :-) And I love the water. And I love that my virus seems to be on the way out...even though I'm having a few residue issues. Ugh! You don't wanna know about them....trust me!
Okay, I'm off to practice my 'talk'. I have a presentation I have to give at my congregation this week....AND I have to ship some more sales! :-) Yes....they're still coming!! And no one is more shocked about it than me!!....Happily shocked!
Considering that we just found out that some services that we thought I might be eligible for....I'm not, it would be wonderful if the sales in the shop picked up enough to make up the difference financially...I won't count on it though. That would take the joy out of the sales I'm getting! :-)
Have a good day, Everybody!! :-) I'll be back with some more of hubby's photos tomorrow!...unless you rebel! ^_^ Eh!....I'll share 'em anyway. He may rebel!! LOL
Describe The Sky
Evoking awe and bouts of wonder.
Such inspiration, you just want to cry.
With birds high-flying, and winds a blowing,
what words would you use to describe the sky?
Would you say, whether clouds are upon it,
that it blankets a wondrous space?
Or would you be more awed and humbled,
hoping there you would find God's face?
I would say that when standing quiet,
looking up at the sun or moon,
there's a feeling of peaceful oneness
that I hope won't go away too soon.
Evoking bouts of awe and wonder
was probably what it was designed to do;
That is, besides giving off light and weather,
and the most spectacular view!

How Do I Know That 'Fall' Or Autumn Is Officially Here?!
Autumn....Fall...is finally here! :-) Wanna know how I know?!...One way I know is that hubby has caught the camera bug-ness! LOL He's thinking about and looking for things to take pictures of! ^_^
Here's a few of his 'captures'...
These (above) are some of the last blooms of the long gone...long gone by a whole day or two! ^_^...summer. The last one is a photo from a corner of his garden...This is some more shots of that old tired wreck of a thing (Below)! LOL...
Needless to say, his garden has seen it's better days for the year! When it's looking like this, it's a clear sign to me that it's Fall!
Another way that I know that it's Fall is that the temperatures outside are cooler, the skies are 'Fall-ish', and hubby has Fall wanderlust. He wants to desperately go somewhere and do something...but he doesn't know where or what?! LOL It's funny to watch him this time of year. He starts acting like he's a caged puma, with a broken leash and no way to get the door open! ^_^ ...I'm not gonna say what that makes me in that analogy! ^_^ I'm just gonna proceed to show you how else I know that it's officially Fall!...
In certain spots of the backyard, even though there's still a lot of green, you can see little pops of color,....whereas in other parts of the backyard...
BAM!!! It's FALL!!!! :-) ... Enjoy it, People! And have a good day! :-)
{By the way, me and the virus are still dancing. Only now I'm leading. :-))}
Fall Is The Tree
Fall is the tree,
with its colors all set free
in the orange and red you see,
and the golden leaves in the
honey-colored harmony
of a busy bumble bee.
Its so beautiful that we
don't even have to pay a fee
for the stark tranquility
that just fills our heart with glee.
Fall is the tree,
and it makes us hit our knee,
and thank God so humbly
for the unlocked door and key
to our visual memory.
All the other seasons flee,
but the fall is the tree.

Seeing Pretties In My Sleep?!
I had all kinds of things to write today...but they got lost in a sleepy haze somewhere. lol Apparently the only place, since I got this virus, that I'm really doing any serious writing is...in my dreams!!...I slept most of yesterday away in fact, and as I'm typing right now all I want to do is lay back and pull the covers back up!
But that's not gonna happen!! I've got a meeting this morning...and after that I've got 3 packages to get ready for shipment!...The good thing is that my fever is very low grade now, and except for a couple of other 'piddly' annoyances, I think this virus is on the way OUT!!!!..And 'GOOD RIDDANCE' to it too!
Since I'm running so behind, I don't have a lot of time now though. But I did wanna share a couple of pretties with you! :-)
I hope that will hold you over until tomorrow. I'll be back then, ready to talk.....if I'm awake! O_O ... In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the weather, and the rest of the weekend wherever you live! :-)
Awake!
It feels good to be awake!
Eyes wide open. Brain cells too!
Now my mind and eyes need focus.
Let's go find something to do!

Interesting!!
That's the word I kept saying as I was leisurely scrolling through my 'Activity Feed' on Etsy this morning..."Interesting!"...I even showed some of the things I was looking at to hubby and he said the same thing..."Interesting!"...but he said it in a much deeper voice. ^_^
Actually his voice wasn't "that" much deeper than mine this morning...Yep! The fever is gone most of the time now, but I've moved on to other stages of this lovely virus, like a slight cough and a raspy voice...I say I've moved on because I sure hope I have! This virus is crazy! At this point I'm beginning to wonder if it is a virus! O_O So many things about this 'thing' are new to me. So much so till sometimes I wonder if it really is a virus, or some other 'thing'!....some other interesting 'thing'!
For instance, I woke up yesterday with no fever....YAY!....but about an hour and a half later...the fever was back! It was off and on all day...Then last night I found that my belly felt so full that I was even feeling short of breath when I turned over to a particular side...*And no, I didn't eat the WHOLE thing!!...and Yes I have been, regularly...like clockwork!!LOL*
In fact, I really hadn't eaten much at all. And green tea with lemon would not have been a problem...Then last night I starting getting the body pains again...in specific spots. Then a back pain, like a toothache. Then fever blisters on my lips...and my gums were sore. O_O I think I might be trying to turn into something else! The way my swollen lip feels, it might be an anteater! LOL.....*sigh*...More "change" I don't need!! LOL...There's other stuff, but it's too interesting to tell you about! ^_^...Oh well, today, I'm sure, the saga will continue! :-]
Right now I wanna show you the interesting things I found on Etsy! Let's start with these...
They're felt studded earrings...and just lying there like that (above) they may not look 'that' interesting, but look at them on...
BAM!...Interesting, right?!....It may just me, because I have a pair of blue metal, double tiered, ones shaped sorta like them. :-)
Here's another interesting wearable...
It's a handmade crochet lariat scarf...You can wear it all different kinds of ways too!...
(nurlu)
Or how about an interesting purse...
...a hand-painted cupcake donut purse to be precise! :-) ... I can think of all kinds of things to keep in there!
Then there were some interesting wooden things that hubby and I both had our eyes on. One of them was this convertible puzzle table...
(Mid Century Danish Modern Peter Hvidt Teak Wood Brass Coffee Table Convertible Puzzle from magpieantiques)
Now I ask you...when was the last time you saw an interesting coffee table like this?!...It's like six tables in one!...And the description mentioned that they can be stacked...you can use less pieces and put them together to form a smaller table...or, because of their sturdiness, you can use them as extra seating!!!...Interesting, right?! :-)
And if you like wood...and interesting cards...you're gonna LOVE this!...
It's a design postcard that's as light and thin as paper, but made out of real cedar wood! The wood is laser-cut in a variety of different patterns, and the shapes can be easily punched out, folded and assembled into 3-dimensional objects without having to use any extra tools!
So cool, right?! ^_^ You can write on, paint or color them too! And in the description it says you can mail them using standard postcard tariffs! :-] ... I've never seen anything like this! It could be a card that the person keeps for years after they get it, just sitting on their desk, or in a curio cabinet or something.
And if you're saying: "Yeah, but who wants a tree?!".....Guess what?....
...The cut-outs are in all kinds of shapes!! :-) Elephants, boats, and my beloved FLOWERS!! :-) ....Interesting enough?!
Okay, that's all the interesting I have for you today. I'm gonna go and finish my tea and see if I can talk my strange-acting body into doing something normal and familiar! LOL I definitely need to "change" something...before it completely "changes" ME! I'll keep you posted as to the response I get....Have a good day, Y'all! :-)
I Think I Need To...
I think I need to change things up,
flip the script, change direction;
I don't want to lose my love
for that which I have so much affection?
I think I need some brand new eyes,
to see things a different way.
Because the way that I've been seing
really isn't gonna pay.
I think, because it's me, I need
some creative inspiration.
Some sketches, markers, ball point pens,
and some Disney animation.
I think that this may take some time.
It seems a lot for me to do.
So, maybe I should change my mind.
I'll let you know when I get back to you!

Things That Do Not Get Rid Of A Virus...
It's been a rough few days, but I'm feeling a bit better this morning. How do I know?...I felt like talking this morning. I also knew it when I was laying in the bed last night thinking about what I would blog this morning, rather than thinking about how bad it was gonna hurt when I turned over! What can I say....YOU have your gauge of how well you're doing, and I have mine! ^_^
I'm probably not completely out of the woods, especially since my girlfriend's little boy, who also has this virus, still has it...and it's been a week! I think I got it about three or four days ago. Days are kinda melting one into the other at this point. But anyway!...for those of you who've never had a virus....or haven't had THIS virus...I wanted to save you some trouble chasing down cures. I thought I'd tell you the 7 things that I've found that DO NOT get rid of a virus! :-)
1. Funny husbands...at least MY funny husband! He's entertaining alright! ^_^...but his jokes, and his banging some part of his body on the corner of our bed EVERY single morning, and his well-meant watery chicken soup...
...O_O...no matter how much love he put in it!...do not get rid of a virus!...But I think his back and body rubs and his love and attention may have been just the dose of what I needed. ♥
2. The view of my feeder sitting all alone...
...we saw the last hummingbird come last week. :-( He flew up to the window, instead of the feeder, looking in and hovering like they do when something is wrong with the nectar's formula. :-) Hubby immediately changed the nectar, thinking he didn't want hummingbirds on their long trip with bad nectar in their bellies!...I love him! :-) But now we know the little guy was just saying goodbye, because not one has come since then.
Nope! This did not get rid of my virus. In fact, it would have been nice if one of those little guys would have hung around a few more days. They might've been a good distraction for me...when I was awake I mean. Which wasn't much!
That's pretty selfish thinking, I know. But that's what this sick person with a virus was the last few days...selfish! It's been all about ME!! LOL..."O-U-C-H!"..."Fluff my pillow"..."Can I have some tea?!....Soup?!...No thanks!"..."Rub my back"..."help me, help me, HELP ME!!!" ^_^ Hubby probably wished he was a hummingbird with a laid out flight plan, or that his name was the cure for the virus! I sure called it enough! LOL
3. Lorna Doone and Nutter Butter cookies!...
I sure called it enough! LOL
3. Lorna Doone and Nutter Butter cookies!...
No, they do not get rid of a virus. But I don't care! ^_^ A friend of ours gave them to hubby and I last night as a gift. She remembered from a conversation we had with her a year ago that these were among hubby and my favorite cookies, and she just gave them to us with a sweet sweet note. :-)
I'm telling you...with friends like this, who cares if you have a virus!...Okay, maybe that was too loose of a comment. Uhhh...who cares if you have a virus ONCE in your lifetime....PLEASE!!! :-) ..... ♥♥♥ to YOU, cookie giver! You know who you are. The cookies made me smile the big smile right through the fever! ^_^
4. Sales in my Wuglyees shop...No, they did not get rid of my virus, but they did make me feel pretty good...in spurts. I had three different customers interested in a brooch, a necklace, and a lapel pin!...I was thankful hubby was here to help get them shipped off, because I was a whiney baby at that time!...And I'm sure customers didn't want my virus 'cootie' fingers all over their items anyway! ^_^
5. Getting another one of my items in a treasury...
(Autumn Romance Treasury curated by Kate Brooks)
...No, it didn't get rid of my virus...but it sure didn't hurt! ^_^ Thanks Kate!
6. Having the best customers in the world!...
No, it doesn't get rid of a virus having the best customers in the world, but it sure does make the time you spend while you have a virus a little more bearable! :-) ...Donna Carrick bought this crochet butterfly necklace and got the scarf as a free gift...
I was thrilled to pieces to see her wearing it...and to know that she really likes it! :-)
Even through a feverish haze I could see that my choice of scarf for her was a pretty good one!...Although I don't mind telling you, when she told me to choose one and surprise her...I was a bit worried! O_O Of course, I think that with the right mind-set anybody can wear a 'Wuglyees' scarf, but I'm aware that some people might think they're a bit too much. Donna didn't though. She loves it! And I love her. She's a great repeat customer of mine! The best one I have in fact...Thanks for the photos and the smile, Donna! :-) {By the way, her and her husband are book publishers. You might wanna check out some of their books on her Facebook page --> HERE <--...just saying! :-)}
7. Last, but not least, delusional thinking...No, delusional thinking is not a cure for the virus! ^_^ If it was I'd look like this after all of this fever...
...I've been laying in bed thinking about how much easier it would be to have a virus if you knew that in the end it would alter some of your unwanted flaws! :-)) You know...burn them right off!! Then I'd look like the above photo instead of like I do now, like this...
Ha! I said I was delusional, not CRAZY!!!! LOL Trust me, you don't wanna see a picture of me right now anyway!!!!! ^_^ ... Okay, I'm off to do some more recouping. I'm still a little feverish. The fever is going and coming. I may go back to bed for a bit. But as you can see, I'm talkative and feeling better. See you tomorrow!
A Little Doze'll Do You!
I enjoy my sleeping, and a doze,
a nap, and such.
In fact I might enjoy a snooze
entirely waay too much!
At any time of day,
you'll find me like a weeping willow.
Head hung low and dragging,
looking for the nearest pillow.
No, there's nothing wrong.
I'm not depressed. I've still got bounce!
And I can stay awake and be
quite witty when it counts!
But I have been awake for things
when I could have been asleep.
And now my time's so valuable
I don't treat it like it's cheap.
My sleeping, dozing, napping,
is to my life a special key.
It unlocks and refreshes
and dispels anxiety!
Most people try to fill up
every hour in the day.
But me, I'd rather be asleep
and waste it all away.
There's plenty hours left
for all the flit and play and chore.
An hour for a nap right now?!
Why not?! There's 24!!
I enjoy my sleeping, and a doze,
a nap, and such.
In fact I might enjoy a snooze
