It's A 'WHINE FREE' Zone!

Welcome to the 'Whine Free' zone of the Wug's backyard! ^_^ Yes, I've decided that yesterday's post was enough of that!! Today it's back to talking too much and sharing things I like! :-) Aren't you happy to be here today instead of yesterday?!....Ha! Ha!
Like the Koi fish in that beautiful photo above, I'm just gonna take it slow and easy today. Relax! Enjoy! :-) And I'm bringing you along for the ride!!
I wanna show you the new boutonnieres I made yesterday...in a minute...and tell you about a custom order I'll be working on today. But first I wanna show you the cute things I spotted on Etsy!...
I love romantic-looking fingerless gloves! And these are gorgeous!!...

Pretty and creative needlework is making a comeback, Y'all! :-) Look at this too!...

Nothing to whine about here, right?! :-)

And the necklace below is nothing to whine about either!!!...

       BEAUTIFUL!!!

And you know my affinity for polka dots lately! Well, I found a way that I could possibly put some polka dots on my boutonnieres! ^_^ ...

Polka dot buttons!! :-) ... As soon as I get my hands on some spare 'moolah', 'dough', 'green'.....CASH! ^_^...I may re-visit this shop for some buttons! She has all kinds of colors with polka dots too!! :-]

And if you know how many times hubby and I have been to Paris...virtually!...it won't be a surprise to you as to why I love this little clutch!...

We still have our Friday 'virtual' date night plans up in the air right now. Due to lack of funds we may just be hanging around the house this time!....Wait! That almost sounded like whining! O_O Okay, scratch that!!...We're looking forward to Friday, whatever we're doing!!...That sounds better, right?! Less whiny?! ^_^

Now, about my custom order!...A sweet lady I used to study the Bible with contacted me to make her 7 brooches! :-) She told me to choose the colors myself....PRESSURE! ^_^ Is it just me, or do other people go through the unsure emotions of choosing design and color for customers?!
I would rather have a customer that says: "I want 2 like this, with yadda yadda yadda!" When I have to choose I think: "Will she like this?! Wait! She never wears those colors! O_O But wait! She's not getting them for her. She's getting them to use as gifts!...What kind of friends does she have?! Do they like color?! Are they more conservative?! etc......AARGH!!!!!"
See?! ^_^ So, for future reference, if you want me to make you something, PLEASE just tell me exactly what you want, what color, and what combination of design?!...I'm a work horse! I just like to do what YOU want me to do!! :-) Anyway...no whining!!!! Just saying! ^_^
Moving on!!!... Let me show you the latest boutonnieres I made for my Wuglyees shop!...

Nothing to whine about there! ^_^ They'll all be in my shop later today.

     Okay...See?!...WHINE FREE!...and we're all still breathing!! ^_^ Have a good day, Everybody!

Whining

I'm cold. I'm hot. I'm helpless.
I don't want to eat that stuff!
I'm hungry...full..exhausted.
Why does life have to be so tough?!

I'm lonely...tired of people,
Need to find something to do.
Why doesn't someone call or text,
or email me...But who?!

I'm whining all the time
about one thing and then another.
If I had a dime for all that whine...
I could be rich just on the weather!!

No, I'm not a little kid.
I am a full grown "Whiny Mama"!
And I can whine, and list and list,
comma after comma!

I don't like waiting. I am bored.
And I've got so much to do!
Did I encourage you to whine?!
Don't want to hear it...Mine is through!

Turbulent!

If our weather here in Holyoke reaches into the nineties again today we will officially be in a 'heat wave'.  Yep!...HOT!...And what comes with hot?...Thunder storms of course! ^_^ And that's what we had yesterday, and 'will' have every day for the rest of the week...according to the weather reporters.
The skies have been rumbling!...I knew it was gonna be a turbulent day, all the way around, when my 'baby boy' was down two sets at Wimbledon! O_O Nadal?!.....Yep!....And two sets quickly turned into three sets...and he was done!!! O_O I could hardly believe it!...And he was beaten by a player I had never seen play before!! :-( ... And so the turbulent day began!

Unfortunately it didn't end there though!...We got bad news about our finances that has us scrambling now! O_O And, to 'add insult to injury', a returning health issue had me in a bad mood all day too!...I won't elaborate because...because...you can't help me anyway! ^_^ It's another one of those 'It-Is-What-It-Is!' kinda situations.
Thankfully I had tennis to distract me, and give me something to smile about! :-) Thank You, Wimbledon!!...That is, I had tennis for a while!...*sigh*...Suddenly the cable service went out! O_O And that included my computer!!! O_O Turbulent!!

We waited for a while to see if the channels were gonna 'kick back in'...but....*sigh*....nope!...and right in the middle of a tennis match I was watching too! O_O
We called the cable station and they said that something had happened at one of the towers!...*blink! blink!*...and that service could be out until 11 p.m.!...*Blink! Blink! Blink! Blink!!!!!!*...And since this happened before 3 O'clock we knew that meant hours of no tennis...no old movies...no 'House Hunters'....silence!...Ugh!
After doing a bit of reading and studying, I decided that a nap wouldn't be a bad idea! LOL And I reminded myself that the day could've been worse. The air conditioning could've been out...but it wasn't! :-) The hummingbirds could've been off somewhere waiting out the storm, but they weren't! :-) And we could've had nothing in the house to eat, but we had food! :-)
So yes, sometimes clouds and storms of turbulence roll in unexpectedly, but there's always something to smile about! :-) ...

You can wear a cloud on your ears!! :-)

I'm hoping today is better than yesterday!!...And even if it isn't, I know who to talk to about it!! :-) Have a good day, Everybody!

Never As Expected

Why can't things go as expected?
No left turn. No oops!...'Snaffu'!
There's always got to be a fly
in the ointment, soup or stew!

Why can't things go as they should,
Without a hitch, impending doom?
Instead of 'Steady as she goes'!
There's always Click, click, click! Then BOOM!!

It's Wimledon 2013....Baby!!!

        (Photo: Matthias Hangst/AELTC)

First, before I go any further, let me tell you that all of the photos in this post are being shared from the Wimbledon Facebook page. I'm telling you that because I think that the photographers who captured the 'feel' of getting ready for Wimbledon so wonderfully should get credit for it! :-) Whoop! Whoop! I'm ready for tennis, baby!!! ^_^

As you can see in the header photo,  the groundstaff prepared the courts ahead of the Wimbledon Championships...In other photos you can see how everybody is getting ready!

A member of the groundstaff cared for plants around the grounds...

The players were getting ready too!...The men's world number one, Novak Djokovic...

And the women's world number one, Serena Williams...

    The home town boy...Andy Murray! :-) ...

     And my 'baby boy'...Rafael Nadal! :-) ...

Yes, I call him 'baby boy'. It's an affectionate term for him. What can I say...I'm a Georgia Girl! ^_^ That's what we call someone we feel affection for...baby boy or baby girl...And Oh yeah, we call baby boys that are as cute as all get out 'baby boy' too!! ^_^ ...

I digress! ^_^ ...As I was saying, it's Wimbledon time, BABY!!!! ^_^ ... All the balls are ready to go!...

 (Photo:  Jon Buckle/AELTC)

And the crowds have poured into the stadium!...

I'm gonna go and find me some breakfast, and maybe even some traditional Wimbledon fare...strawberries and cream!! ^_^ Or popcorn!! Whatever!! LOL

Have a good day, Everybody! :-) I'm gonna have a good tennis-inspired two weeks!! :-]

Distracted

I'm terribly distracted.
Watching tennis all the time,
I don't even wanna talk.
And it's a struggle writing rhyme.

And I'm wonderfully distracted.
Doing what I love to do.
Whoop and holler at the T.V.,
while I blog a bit for you.

I'm sorry I'm distracted.
And I hope you will forgive
that my mind can not be wrangled.
All my thoughts are in the sieve.

What I'll try to do tomorrow...
which I clearly can't do now...
is to give my full attention
to those who won't get it now!

Butter Dish......Butter Fly!

Hubby and I woke up this morning in 'talk' mode. :-) When we're like that conversations can go from A to Z!... Or for people who understand the Bible, from Adam to Armagedon! LOL We didn't go all the way to the end of the line this morning though. We just went as far as Georgia...in the southern United States! :-))
We got into a conversation about the different 'wording' that southerners use for things. For instance, I said to hubby this morning: "I woke up with a 'crick' in my back." O_O And he jokingly said: "Well, you better call the police!" ^_^
Then I had to correct him. "No, not a 'crook' (a thief) in my back!...a 'crick'!" LOL He assured me that he knew exactly what I was talking about. His mother, like me, is also from Georgia originally. ^_^ He was just trying to make a joke! ^_^
That led to a conversation about why a 'crick'...in southern lingo (language)...is both 'a twisted or cramped place in the back that causes pain'...and...'a stream of water'! ^_^
It also led to conversation about other southern expressions, like 'fixin to'. Example: "I'm 'fixin to' go to the store"...Or in other words: I'm about to...or I'm getting ready to...go to the store. :-]
And it also led to the title of my blog today...about 'butter'! ^_^ Hubby said he was getting ready to go and fix breakfast...at 5 a.m.! And I said: "You 'butter' not!!" Ha! Ha!...Of course, in other English lingo this would be: "You 'better' not!"...but I'm from the southern state of Georgia, Y'all! ^_^ 'You butter understand!' ^_^
Joking around, hubby said: "You butter 'dish' (distribute information) about that on your blog."...I said: "I sho (sure) butter!" LOL...So there you have it...on Pancake Sunday!...With a crick in my back, I'm fixin to do some  'butter' dish, share a cute item I found on Etsy....

(Sterling Silver Ladybug Post Earrings by GeorgiaCollection)

...and then I 'butter' fly!! ^_^

Isn't language grand!! ^_^ Have a good day, Everybody! :-)

 Poetry

Poetry, the gift of words,
that help you say whats in your heart;
that puts your thoughts of life together,
but pulls emotions all apart.

Poetry, your quiet friend,
that gives your voice a place to land;
that gives the things you'd  never say
a way to jump out from your hand.

Poetry, done to a beat,
a beat of words, said right in time,
without confusion of the music,
but just the rhythm and the rhyme.

Poetry, phrase harmony;
the way a noun and adverb meet;
the way they line up side-by-side,
and all Not needed they delete.

Poetry, the passing thoughts,
and all the others I hold dear,
of all the people and the places
that I've  written down right here.

Poetry, the gift of words,
and putting them together too;
Without the pen and paper
what in the world would my mind do?

South Africa...'Virtual' Date Visit

Think delicious cabbage and potatoes, beef, rice, coconut banana pastry, and good music, and you have our date in a nutshell. :-] Hubby and I had a really good time! Actually, I should say it was a really good time...except for a bit of 'virtual' jet lag! Other than that, it was perfect! ^_^
As you can see in the header photo, and the photos below, I'm bringing a bit of South Africa to you too, here on the blog! :-) ...

The description under the beads in this shop says that "...Earthbutter Beads are hand rolled by single moms from a disadvantaged rural community near Cape Town, South Africa..."

That makes them even more beautiful to me! :-) The 'back story' of things always makes them more beautiful. Even beads, doesn't it? :-] ...
Actually that's true with many things in life. Not just beads. :-) Wouldn't you love to hear the 'back story' of these cars?...

Oh Yeah! All old timers have a 'back story'!!...including hubby and I! LOL
But some 'back stories', like the real 'back story' of our 'virtual' date last night, need to remain unspoken! ^_^ The real back story of our date showed just what old timers we are! ^_^ So I'll keep that story to myself! LOL But let's just say that a looooooooong nap was involved at some point! ^_^

Anyway!....As planned, I 'did' get to do some crocheting on the plane. :-) ...

Now I have some new boutonnieres to list in the shop! :-) ...

Today...WOW! It's Saturday already!!! O_O...is gonna be all about recovering from jet lag first of all! ^_^ And then...listening to the last day of a Jehovah's Witness convention on audio tape...Finishing the scriptures of my Watchtower for the study at the Kingdom Hall tomorrow...(If you don't understand what that's about, and you wanna know, just send me an email and I'll explain.)...Going to pick up some supplements...(we have to go out of state to get them because no place around us carries them, and we waited too late to order them online...OOPS!)...Doing some laundry and... Getting some paperwork together for another re-filing for health services...UGH!...Oh, the 'red tape'!!!!

So, that was the 'virtual' date that was, and this is the day that 'is'! :-) ... What did 'you' do yesterday, and what are 'you' doing today?! Do share!!...even if you think I wouldn't understand. ^_^
Our visit to 'virtual' South Africa reiterated to us that even though people are all from different places in the world, and speak different languages, we're all still a part of the same human race. And while we all have some of the same things in common...right now...language isn't always one of them! LOL
Thankfully food, and the mood of music has a language all it's own. :-) And we were able to 'understand' that language through some of the delicious food we ate, and beautiful music we heard. :-) I'll leave you with one of our favorite songs from last night below...We didn't understand all of the words. But we certainly understood it's sentiment. :-) I hope you like it.

Have a good rest of the day, and a good rest of the weekend, Everybody!! :-)

Another 'Virtual' Trip!

Another long trip abroad.
We're some 'virtual' traveling fools!
We revel in our 'virtual' jaunts,
but don't have to follow travel rules.

Our shoes stay on our feet.
In fact, sometimes we go without!
And what is all this measuring
and getting searched about?!

Yes, we travel everywhere,
and we never spend a dime.
It's 'virtual' perfection.
You should try it too sometime!

What I Did Yesterday

What did you do yesterday?!...Work at a secular job all day?!...Have lunch with your girlfriends or guy friends?...Do some crafting or needlework?...Mow the lawn?...Etc....? Was it a good day?!
Well, my day just flew by! It seemed so productive, but......but......! O_O Well, here's what I did!...

I had a little breakfast...nothing special. Just nourishment.

You know how it is. Sometimes it's got to be like that!...especially when the next day is 'Virtual Friday'...like it is today!! ^_^ ... the day when hubby and I eat something we've been craving all week, while we're on our date...somewhere in the world! :-) Tonight it's a trip to South Africa!! :-)

       After breakfast I needed a nap! :-)

With my 'female' issues lately, I've been taking lots of refreshing naps! ^_^ The key word is 'refreshing'! Not 'sleep'...which would be 'restoring'. LOL Yes, people! There is a difference!!

After my nap, I looked around at what some of my friends have been doing lately. I saw that my friend Cindy made another one of her cute necklaces for little girls! :-) ...

I love it!! :-) Of course I would. It's a flower, and it has colorful green in it!! ^_^ It's such a cute necklace for a little girl!!...Keep up the good work, Cindy! ♥

      Then it was lunchtime.

        But I wasn't hungry!...So instead of eating, I...

     ...took another little nap! :-)

After 'that' nap I spent some time with hubby. We listened to some really encouraging public discourses, and talked a little about life...with a few giggles along the way. ^_^

Then I did a bit of crocheting...

I still have a couple of backings to put on a couple of other boutonnieres I finished. I'll do that on the 'virtual' airplane out of the country later...if they don't give me a hard time about taking my crochet hooks! O_O 'Virtual' traveling takes so much thought these days! ^_^

Then it was time for dinner!...and since I had missed lunch...I WAS STARVING!!! It required a little 'snacky-poo' while I was waiting for dinner to be finished cooking. :-]

And after another talk session with hubby, it was time for...you guessed it! ^_^ ...another nap!!

The last nap was taken right before my meeting last night...which was wonderful by the way, even though I was 'low energy'.

"And wait! That's not all!!" ^_^ Sorry. The infomercial phrase came into my mind! Ha! Ha! After the meeting hubby and I talked about the talks that were presented. We especially loved the little ones' presentations. :-)

Then it was a relaxed viewing of the NBA basketball final! :-) Congratulations to the Miami Heat on their repeat championship win!!

Can you see, from my goings-on yesterday, how 'exciting' of a day it was?! LOL Okay...so it wasn't that exciting. ^_^ I'm still not at 100% yet. But I'm working on it!...Still...

      *Yawn* ^_^ ... Have a good day...a good date...and a good weekend, Everybody!! :-)

Weekend

Weekend Folderol;
Lollygagging, having fun;
Makes working up to Friday
worth the paperwork you've done.

Your job, all week, came first,
but now it's time for a little jaunt;
or to lay around the house
and just do nothing, if you want!

A little this. A little that.
A bit of fun had out of doors.
A little weeding in the garden.
And a little bit of chores.

Some weekend folderol,
all alone or with your friends.
Or some chit chat with your neighbors,
new acquaintances or kin.

A Weekend that's all planned,,
or simply finding things to do;
Because every Monday will be back
and you'll need something to look forward to!
