$50...A Bag Of M&Ms...And More Snow!!

https://www.etsy.com/listing/161707242/oatmeal-with-mini-mms?ref=favs_view_1

If I was one of those kind of daddy's that woke up in the morning and had to fix my kids breakfast...during a snow storm/blizzard!...I think I would be fixing breakfast 'MY WAY'. In other words, I'd be making the kids some oatmeal for breakfast...but wrapped up in a cookie exterior! :-) You know, sorta like an oatmeal cookie, with M&Ms!! ^_^
But, I'm not a daddy. In fact, I'm not even a mommy! :-) So I just have to have breakfast for myself! And since I have M&Ms in the house this morning.....why not have M&Ms with oatmeal...wrapped up like an oatmeal cookie! ^_^ "Rage On,winter storm/blizzard!!" LOL

 https://www.etsy.com/listing/161707242/oatmeal-with-mini-mms?ref=favs_view_1

You wanna know why I'm talking so eloquently about M&Ms this morning?!...It's because, for the first time in my crocheting creative life, M&Ms were a part of what I was paid in!! ^_^ Remember the baby blanket I custom made for a recent customer?...

https://www.etsy.com/shop/wuglyees?ref=shopsection_shophome_leftnav

https://www.etsy.com/shop/wuglyees?ref=shopsection_shophome_leftnav

https://www.etsy.com/shop/wuglyees?ref=shopsection_shophome_leftnav

I didn't quote her a price for the blanket because she had been so helpful to hubby and I during a rough period recently, and I just wanted her to take it, and love and enjoy it! If she hadn't paid me a penny, I would've been happy to know she loved it. :-]
But yesterday she stopped hubby when he was on his way into the house and handed him a wad of money for me!...$50...and a large plastic bag full of M&Ms with peanuts. :-) Does she know me or what?!! ^_^
We could 'REALLY' use that $50!!!!...and I can 'always' use a large plastic bag full of M&Ms with peanuts!!! LOL...I could also use a large check for 18 million dollars and a large bag of Caron Simply Soft yarn...just saying!...but that's a horse of another color! LOL When that check, and the bag of yarn comes, I'll let you know!! ^_^

https://www.etsy.com/listing/120480178/trendy-plus-size-clothing-extra-long?ref=favs_view_1

In more news...it's still snowing! O_O I think, in this particular storm/blizzard, we're up to about 4 inches so far. That means that so far we're up to about.....uhhhhh...about.....TOO MUCH SNOW!!!! Grrrrrr!..."WILL IT EVER END????!!!!!"

And lastly, for today, my husband just came running into the bedroom to tell me that...after examining his head in the bathroom mirror for 20 minutes...he's growing a new tuft of hair in the middle of his substantial bald spot!!!! LOL...He informed me that I didn't have to call it "substantial". LOL
Okay...I'm done. I'm about to play a mean game of Scrabble with the hubby...*what else is there to do?! ^_^*...Maybe I'll try to make the word 'substantial', just to keep things interesting.....Because we both already know....I'm gonna win!! LOL
Okay, I'll leave you with a little music, and a poem, and I'll see you tomorrow. Have a good day, Everybody!! :-) ♥

Sunday 'Goings On'!

https://www.etsy.com/listing/109896449/gray-cotton-sweater-women-sweater-loose?ref=favs_view_5

Yes...it's Sunday again! :-) Yes...there are things going on. :-) No...it's not worth making a big deal or a lot of words on a blog post about...but here goes anyway! ^_^
Let's talk about the weather!...It's the first day of the 'Meteorological' winter...and it's cold in Massachusetts...DUH! ^_^ As a little plus, it snowed a tiny bit last night...and has disappeared already this morning! But there's also some freezing rain around, that has caused a few car accidents! O_O We're under a 'stay-home-until-around-11:00 a.m.' advisory right now.
Thankfully my mind doesn't need galoshes or a sweater coat in order to get out-and-about! LOL Although I wouldn't mind putting the cute sweater coat above on and going for a little spin around the block...Well, around the yard...Well, who am I kidding!...I wouldn't wear it out ANYWHERE in this weather!! LOL I'd put it on and sip some coffee in it, and maybe take some 'selfies'!! LOL...In case you're new here to my blog....I DON'T LIKE THE WHITE STUFF...OR THE COLD STUFF!!! LOL...

https://www.etsy.com/listing/56635567/winter-bell-jar-5-x-7-art-illustration?ref=favs_view_3

I take that back....I don't like 'BEING OUT IN' the white or cold stuff! I don't mind 'looking' at the white or cold stuff from the window at all!! ^_^ In fact, I think it can be quite nice to look at!...as long as I don't have need of anything from the store, or don't have anywhere to be! :-) ...

https://www.etsy.com/listing/109896449/gray-cotton-sweater-women-sweater-loose?ref=favs_view_5

Thankfully I don't have anything like that going on right now!...I do have a meeting a bit later. But by then it will have warmed up...Or at least, that's what the weather man said anyway!
For now the Wug family goings on include laundry, breakfast, a bit of music...

https://www.etsy.com/listing/166213312/treble-clef-bracelet?ref=favs_view_4

...some resting of my hand...Yes...UGH!...it's still hurting! O_O It's so weird how it just flared up out of nowhere...Old people!! UGH! LOL...I'm glad I didn't have a large order to work on or nothing! That would've been stressful!
As it is, I'm just typing with two fingers, sipping intermittently on some hot green tea, and musing about Sunday's goings on with you!...which is not much going on at all really. ^_^ ...

Have a good Sunday, Everybody! :-) Enjoy the last of the weekend because Monday is ready for a full tackle, running directly at us, as I speak!!! LOL

Dance Around Your Happy Place!

Remember when you were little and an Al Green, Smokey Robinson or Diana Ross and the Supremes song would come on, (and other artists too, but I could be here all day naming them! ^_^) and you and your sisters, or you and your mom, would stop right in the middle of whatever you were doing and dance around, giggling and laughing?! :-]

Well, that's what I want to think about today. Dancing...giggling...and laughing! Happy times...with good music...and good times! :-) ... I'm choosing to think about that, rather than mall shootings...tornadoes...and long range missile strikes! O_O I think it's a better way to go, don't you?!...Let's just 'dance around' all of the bad news, and the crowds doing their holiday shopping, and the sickness of friends, and bills...and.....and.....O_O...and WHATEVER else we can 'dance around'!!
I'd rather talk about dancing and listening to music any day! :-) ... And while you're listening to some music...

...how about looking at some other cool items!...Items that take you to happy places...in your mind or otherwise. Places like in the kitchen...

Oh, the half lemon, half chocolate, cakes...and who knows what all other combinations of cakes!...my hubby could be whipping up in this bowl right now!! :-))

How about the happy place of your bedroom when you were a kid?!...

My mind is telling stories and writing poems already...just thinking about the drawings on this cute pillow cover! ^_^

How about the happiness of looking at yourself in the mirror when you're all dressed up to go somewhere! :-) ...

And if you were wearing this necklace, you might also be hearing music! ^_^

How about going to 'your happy place' in your mind! :-)

Just think about all of the mental happy places this lamp could light up!!! :-]

And last, but not least, how about the prospect of future happiness! :-) ....Ahhhhh, yes! That's what I call a TRUE happy place!! :-)

Are you in your happy place yet?!...Are you at least thinking about your happy place?! ^_^ If so, my job is done!!...except for a bit of poetry! :-) ... Happy a 'happy place' kind of day, everybody!...Uhhhh...you might wanna stay away from the news if you wanna stay in your happy place too!....just saying! O_O

"It Feels Like Today"!...'Virtually' Friday!

It's romantic Friday!!!!....alias, 'Virtual Date Night' in the Wug household! :-) I say 'alias' because we've been off of our normal 'Date Night' schedule for a while. We haven't 'technically' had a 'virtual' date night for a few weeks...and it looks like, with bad weather coming later today, our 'virtual' excursion is off for today too!...Okay, actually, the weather isn't gonna bother us, we're gonna have our date night anyway. :-) It just won't be anything worth writing about!
We're gonna be enjoying the cloudy, rainy day...

...close to home...in New York...our 'Go To' date destination whenever we're feeling all 'spur of the moment'. :-)
We don't have to pack much in our bag...

...except maybe some snacks, and a bunch of paper and pens, so I can write some poetry. :-) ..Actually I might take two bags. One for necessary 'stuff'...and one to wear romantically across my shoulder to the restaurant...

Maybe I'll take some bling...sorta...with me too, for my fingers!...

That's because I love to see rings on a writer's hand while they're writing...so I assume other people notice such things too. :-) ...

If people really DON'T pay attention to such things, let's keep it as our foggy secret, okay! ^_^

So, it's not our usual schedule for a date...Actually, lately, it's not our usual schedule for ANYTHING! But we're working at trying to find a new 'normal'. I know we'll get there eventually! ^_^ In the meantime, we have a whole lot of time on our hands!...Funny, though, how time seems to fill itself up even when you're not looking! LOL
Off to finish my good breakfast...

...and look for more inspiration for my crochet brooch keychains!...

Hmmmm...wish I had thought of this (above)! I love them!!...Oh Well, I'll come up with something!...Although I've got a slight distraction again. A custom order for some men's boutonnieres! :-) I'll show them to you when I'm done.
Have a good day, Everybody! ^_^ Are you going away,? Stealing a date? Vegging out?!...Share!!! :-] ... Here's a little music to get your 'today' started!

Oooooo! I Have So Much To Tell You!

If you had been a fly on the wall at our house last night you would be smiling as much as I am today, I'm sure! :-) And not because of where we went for our usual 'virtual Friday date night' either!
For those of you who are new to my blog, my hubby and I, for years, have kept Friday nights as a 'Date Night'. A night that we either went out on the town, took a little trip or a little ride somewhere, or, if we were home,  just took the phone off the hook...But because of my health in recent years, our Friday night 'dates' have been 'virtual' dates.
We choose a state, a city, an event, or a country, and immerse ourselves in it for the night. We listen to its local music; eat something from, or similar to its food; and GO THERE 'virtually'!...Oh! The fun we've had!! ^_^
And last night was no exception, even though we didn't "GO" anywhere!...With hubby outta work right now, and us having to keep our 'pennies' pinched a bit until we see what our next move will be, we decided to keep our 'Date Night' close to home.
We had planned to 'virtually' go to Oregon for the night. Oregon is in the U.S. We didn't think there would be that big of a change in what we would have been eating, so we didn't wanna waste money ordering food out...I mean, we already had food! LOL
All we had to do was find a movie to watch, or some music to listen to!....Well, we went online to look around...and BING!...you know that sound that your email makes when you're getting a message?...The sound that we usually ignore on our 'Date Nights'?! Well, that's what we heard...But since we weren't 'into' anything yet, we checked it.
Hmmmmm....Kevin Costner is following me on Twitter...

Now, I love Kevin Costner! In fact, I just recently did a blog post about an unplanned date day hubby and I had, due to that bad storm we had, where we watched Message in a Bottle' with Kevin Costner in it!...But when we saw this email, hubby and I just laughed, because I've gotten all kinds of so-called celebrities following me on Twitter over the last few years! Only twice were they legitimate celebrity types...neither of which were the kind of people I would want following me in the first place! (The details of that are a story for another day...or maybe not even worth the written words! LOL)
Anyway!....Usually these so-called celebrities that follow me on Twitter are people who are fake counterparts to real celebrities, or people using the celebrity's name to get attention...So I went over to Twitter to see what kind of nut is 'BINGING' my account this time!...UGH!....And, frankly, to delete them off of it!!!
But lo and behold......it's legitimate!!!!!! :-) It's an approved account, and it's kevin Costner and his new group Modern West!!...

        I saw Kevin Costner and Modern West perform for the first time on the Grand Ole Opry recently, and I was impressed! He seemed so natural at it. And he sounded pretty good too!...although I could tell he was nervous. But who wouldn't be?! There's only a handful of celebrities that have made the jump from the big screen to the stage successfully. But oh yeah! They've tried! {Bruce Willis, Will Smith, David Hasselhoff,......O_O...Okay, I'm gonna stop there!}
Now, the truth is, until my email BING! I hadn't really taken the time to listen to any other songs of Kevin Costner's group...except for a performance they did on some talk show or something a while back...even though I had liked what I heard.
So, hubby and I, true music aficionados...sorta, kinda ^_^...and real country music lovers FOR REAL!...decided that we would do that for our date...listen to Kevin Costner and Modern West songs and see how much we really liked them, I mean!....And we did!!! :-) In fact we were still playing our favorites this morning!! :-)
Have you heard them?!....Well, here's hubby and my favorites!...

If you listened to those and liked them as much as we did, you might also like these two... >HERE< ....and... >HERE<. The whole slew of them are on our playlist now! :-) ... So, thanks Mr. Kevin Costner...and you too Modern West...for hitting up my email!! ^_^ ...Now, if I could only get him to wear one of my crocheted boutonnieres on the red carpet one of these times!!! LOL

Speaking of boutonnieres, remember my recent sale of my red boutonniere?!...Well, guess what?!...The customer sent me a picture!!....

Look how great it looks next to that tweed!! :-) ... How cool is that?!!!!...And the customer gave me some great advice about the back button too! He said he was 100% pleased with it, but suggested that I attach a little smaller back button on future ones. He said just a little bit smaller and the button would have gone through the lapel buttonhole perfectly!...I am so thankful for constructive and useful feedback....Now I know!!! :-) Future boutonnieres will get the benefit of his great suggestion.

Last, but not least, another one of my boutonnieres....the brown tan one...

...was included in Inbar Shahak's new treasury...

("Honey Amber" treasury)

In fact, my header photo...the fly on the wall poster... was from this treasury also! :-) And since I've already talked your head off enough, I won't get all into every item from it. But if YOU want to, you can go HERE and check out each one!
Okay..I'm out! ^_^ Have a good day Everybody!!

'Virtual' Date Night: To The Outer Banks

(Sunset over the Currituck Sound - Wikipedia)
If you know anything about North Carolina, in the U.S., it's usually not knowledge about it being a vacation spot, or a great place to go for a date! But maybe after I tell you the fun hubby and I had there last night you might change your mind. The only thing that might've been 'suspect'....no!..."interesting" was our choice of music. ^_^ I'll tell you about that in a minute!
Hubby has family that live in North Carolina, so it's not a place unfamiliar to us. We've had some good times and great barbecues there! But interestingly we'd never ventured to the 'Outer Banks'!...And if you don't know what I'm talking about, this movie was set in the 'Outer Banks' of North Carolina...
It's "Message In A Bottle", with Kevin Costner, Robin Wright Penn and Paul Newman...Have you ever seen it?!...Here's a little glimpse...

It's a great 'Date Night' movie...and we watched it last night while we were in North Carolina. ^_^ It was a nice back-drop to our trip...We even put a message in a bottle and tossed it in the sea! :-) The message said: 'HELP!...Word."...You'll understand why if you look at the video below. ^_^
But, as I was saying, we had never ventured to the 'Outer Banks', which is a 200 mile long string of narrow barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina, beginning in the southeastern corner of Virginia Beach on the east coast of the United States.
The area is known for it's temperate climate...always good for me! :-) ...and for it's wide expanse of open beachfront and camping area. As a matter of fact, the Cape Hatteras National Seashore has four campgrounds...and a pretty cool lighthouse too! :-)
Other than being our Date Night destination, this area is known for something else you've probably heard about...Orville and Wilbur Wright! The Wright brothers were credited with inventing and building the world's first successful airplane and making the first controlled human flight. That happened on December 17, 1903.
And where did it take place?!...On the Outer Banks, at Kill Devil Hills, near the seafront town of Kitty Hawk...which is in Dare County North Carolina! They even have a monument in the area to commemorate it.
The other thing this area is known for...which might have been good to know before we went there, but thankfully wasn't a problem,...is hurricanes! Wikipedia says: "The Outer Banks has unusual weather patterns due to its unique geographical location. As the islands are jutted out from the eastern seaboard into the Atlantic Gulf stream, the Outer Banks has a predisposition to be affected by hurricanes, Nor'easters (usually in the form of rain, and rarely snow or mixed precipitation), and other ocean driven storms."
Hurricane Isabel, back in September 2003, did a number on the area. So...YIKES!...and PHEW!! We didn't get a hurricane while we were there last night!
The treacherous seas off the coast of the Outer Banks, and the large number of shipwrecks because of it, have given these seas the nickname 'Graveyard of the Atlantic'. There's even a museum, located in Hatteras Village...You're probably not thinking about moving to this area, huh?! ^_^ Being 'shipwrecked' there overnight wasn't bad though...except for our entertainment.
All due respect to hard-working Disc Jockeys everywhere, but........but......

As southerners would say...."Bless his heart"...*giggling*...He was working his poor little heart out, and we were just laughing!! ^_^ Hey! "I" couldn't do what he does,...and neither could hubby...so "You Go Boy!!" ^_^ ...That's what we get for crashing somebody's wedding!! LOL
Okay...off to get my Saturday started. I've got to finish the other wrist warmer...Yep! I finished one yesterday!...I'll show them to you tomorrow...if anybody is here!! ^_^ ...Have a good weekend everybody!! :-)

We Were Suppose To....! But What We Actually Did Was....!

Sometimes the trajectory of your life and plans make a big left turn from where you thought you were going. And that's what happened to us this weekend.
Because of hubby's car accident on Friday, what we were suppose to do yesterday...never got done! What was suppose to happen was that...
----- 1. Hubby would put brakes on our car...It's a job that he's been trying to find the time to do for weeks now! On Thursday he said: "No matter what, I'm doing it on Saturday!!"...O_O...Well, guess what?!...Saturday came and went, and the brakes STILL weren't done!
But after the accident on Friday, he's determined...more than ever...to get those brakes done TODAY...hopefully!!...So this morning that's the plan...after breakfast I mean.
----- 2. I was suppose to start crocheting another pair of fingerless gloves...gray ones...I didn't even put a crochet hook in my hand all day!!...SHOCKING I know!! LOL
But hubby did take some photos the other day that I haven't shown you yet...of the matching scarf I made to go with the colored fingerless gloves I finished...

          ...this is the scarf...

It's 7 inches wide (17.8 cm). A bit wider than I usually make them...

This is the other one I finished too...
It's black, soft blue, and a patch of the angel hair grayish blue and pink mix...
This one almost didn't make it to be photographed! My girlfriend loved it so much that I thought she was gonna take off with it! ^_^ ...She wouldn't do that!...But I kept my eye on it just the same! LOL...Okay, back to my list!

----- 3.  The grocery shopping was suppose to be done...but instead we just 'ordered out', or ate whatever we could scrounge together from the fridge! :-))

----- 4. My hair was suppose to be washed...but instead I'm sitting here with a semi-Rastafarian look...kind of a matted two pony tailed Afro!! ^_^  Trust me...you DON'T wanna see it!

----- 5. All of the laundry was supposed to have been done by this morning...but instead...*sniff! sniff! Yeah, it'll make it another day.*...the washing machine will be doing double duty and singing all day today!

----- 6. We were suppose to finish our Bible study material for the week yesterday. Or at least hubby was suppose to. I have more time mid-week than he does...but again, that's got to go on today's list!

----- 7. We were suppose to call the in laws and relatives to check on everybody and to say hi!...All we can say is that we hope everybody's still breathing!! LOL If not, we hope somebody calls us and let's us know!! ^_^

----- 8. Lastly,  hubby was suppose to go by, or find someone else to go by, and cut down a tree branch that had fallen on his mom's garage. It fell on there back when we had the last storm. A particular someone was suppose to go by already and cut it down, but the person didn't show. Grrr!...And now, thanks to us relaxing the day away, ma still has a tree branch on her garage! :-( Hopefully it'll be able to be cut down before the next snowfall...I guess we better check the weather forecast!!

We did actually get a couple of things done yesterday, besides sleep and rest I mean. ^_^
----- 1. We got some banking done...well...this was a must if we were gonna get our food! LOL When you don't have groceries in your house, you 'SHO BETTER' have cash!! LOL

----- 2. We did a little bit of laundry...bedclothes and linens mostly. Hey! What else would we have needed?! LOL

----- 3. We washed a few dishes...the ones we laid our 'take out food' in, and a cup or two. Maybe a stirring spoon here or there too. :-)) We didn't need many dishes because we had 'grinders' (depending on where you live you may call them 'hero sandwiches', 'hoagies', 'Po boys', 'submarine sandwich', etc...). We had cookies, donuts, and steak and cheese-burg grinders, with chips...potato chips!...and we ain't shame neither!! LOL....bloated.....high blood pressure....and just plain fat!....but not shame!! ^_^

----- 4. And last, but not least, we cuddled and cooed, and did a video of us foot dancing!! ^_^ We had to figure out some way to get some exercise after all of that eating!!...And since we couldn't move the rest of our bodies, we danced...with our feet! LOL
If you wanna see the video, check out our couples blog post that we we did last night...HERE...Or was it early this morning?! O_O It's all a good tasting, good music sounding blur!
Okay...now I've wasted all this time doing this, and I've got to go and try to catch up on the things I was suppose to do this morning, that we didn't do yesterday, because it didn't get done day before yesterday......O_0 I see a long list of 'suppose to's coming for next week...*sigh*...Oh well, that's sometimes 'how the cookie crumbles'!....speaking of which! I was suppose to finish my breakfast! ^_^
