Sooooo...What Are Your Leftovers Of Summer?!
Okay...so the backyard flowers may NOT look quite as beautiful as this right now!! :-)) But the photos of them...which were leftover in the camera back a while ago, in the early summer when hubby took them, are quite a beautiful leftover of summer. Don't you think?! ^_^
They were a lot nicer to look at this morning than the rainy darkness that I woke up to!! Grrrr! "GO AWAY!!!!" {No need to quote the rest of the poem to the rain. You know 'Rain, Rain, Go........!' That rain knows exactly who I'm talking to!!! Grrrrrr!}
Rainy days are a good time to do some other things though. Like re-organizing your organizing! ^_^ And that's what I'm doing today. Actually I should say 'that's what I'm continuing to do today'! I started it yesterday.
For some reason all of my little places where I keep my stuff keep getting MORE stuff!! LOL You know, the little box I keep next to the bed with my 'get-it-quick' stuff in it that I always need to get my hands on quick which use to have just my extra crochet needles, floss, tape measurer, stamps, hand lotion, emery board, nail clippers, etc...now also has batteries, safety pins, rubber bands, a calculator, a hair scrunchy, keys, etc...UGH!
I was watching Peter Walsh on Rachel Ray the other day...you know, the guy that helps people organize...and he said something that I thought was rather 'Organizer-Profound'. He held up a fork and said: 'If you found this fork in your house while you were somewhere else besides in the kitchen, you would know exactly where to take it back to! Everything in your house should be the same way. It should have a home. Somewhere that you know it belongs!'
Thus....my organizing!! ^_^ I'm trying to give all of my 'STUFF' a home!! LOL Needless to say.....I'm beginning to think Peter Walsh needs to get out of my head!!! ^_^
In other news: I finished a crochet sweater, hat, and booties set for a 6-month to one-year-old (or there about that age! ^_^).
If I can get out of my 'mad-organizer' mind some time today I'm gonna list it in my wuglyees etsy shop. :-]
I would love some feedback on it though!...Would you buy something like this as a gift?!!
Okay...I'm off to ORGANIZE!!!...something other than my typing fingers and my mind!! LOL Have a good day, Everybody!! ♥
Priorities
Big rocks of life, important things,
decisions in your prime,
require the best that you can give;
Deserve the choicest of your time.
We have to go to work;
and everyone needs time to play;
But without priorities
the speed of time will take your day.
And if you don't believe it,
try this trick, with rocks and sand;
Put rocks into a bucket.
Then fill the sand in, hand by hand.
Now, empty out your bucket,
and then fill it all back up.
But this time, put the sand in first,
the same sand, cup by cup.
The thing that you will find
is that you don't now have the room!
Putting rocks back in is now like
putting a baby back in the womb.
The rocks are goals, priorities,
the important things to you.
The sand can be most anything,
even recreation too.
Yes, Such is the challenge
when you're managing your time.
That's why Big Rocks come first!
They help prioritize the climb.

Hmmmmm....Do 'YOU' Have Anything To Talk About?!
Hello! :-) I hope all of you are having a good weekend!...Now, you know that if I start a post saying how I hope you're all having a good weekend...Uhhhh...it probably means that I don't have much to talk about! LOL And I don't! ^_^
It doesn't mean that I don't want you all to be having a good weekend. Because I do! But I'm suppose to be talking about 'something' here! ^_^ And because my weekend is so quiet, I got nothing!! ^_^ Except flowers!!...
The humidity and heat hasn't totally beaten them down...yet! :-)
And the rest of the greenery of the backyard is looking fine too! :-)
I've been looking at old movies, or rather...listening to them mostly! I've been 'head down', crochet hook at the ready, working on my two shawls! :-) I had already put the blue and white one away for the day, so it didn't make the photo session. :-)) But the black and white one was on hand, so here it is!...
I still have a long way to go on them, but they're starting to get uncomfortable to maneuver now, so I know they're coming along. :-] The photos really don't do it justice anyway. It was too dark to hold it up and take photos. As it was I had to add some light through 'Picassa'. :-]
Other than the flowers and shawl there's not much else to talk about today! O_O And these days, that's a very good thing!! ^_^ So, I hope you all don't have anything to talk about either! LOL Let's try again tomorrow, shall we?! ^_^
I don't feel like talking
I know you won't believe this,
but I don't feel like a chat!
I don't wanna talk today.
That's just not where my head is at.
I'm not all giddy gabby.
I don't feel like spilling words.
I wanna sit and watch the weather,
or the clock, or maybe birds.
My non-communication
only happens now and then,
so enjoy the tempered silence
while I keep a quiet pen.
Tomorrow may be different.
I may talk your ears right off.
You may not get a word in edge-wise,
so today...go play some golf!

Did You Have A Playhouse As A Kid?!
If you saw my post earlier this morning...MUCH earlier!... ^_^ ...you can now see by my rambling words that I finally woke back up! Ha! Ha! Well, actually, I've been awake for quite a while, but I've been watching tennis, and crocheting, and staying offline because of the thunderstorms passing through our area! O_O It's still raining, and will be until tomorrow they say! Thus explains this post. Sorta kinda. ^_^
When it gets really rainy and dark outside, and my eyes get too tired from wearing my head light to crochet, I let my mind wander off...to play! :-) Do you remember playing when you were a kid?!...Well, I still do it as an adult! LOL
That's why this playhouse caught my eye!! :-) Oh, how I wish I had one of these when I was a kid playing in the woods, pretending that weeping willow trees were rain coming down, and that tree branches and stumps were doors and chairs on our outside house. ^_^ It would've been so cool to have an actual door!...that you could close!! ^_^ ...
I love this look of this playhouse!...It's like a little quiet reading room. Or a place to practice your acceptance speeches, for when you win the literary award of your life!!...or a Grammy. Whichever one comes first! LOL
And if there was a playhouse for chickens...this other house from this shop would be the one! :-) ...
Oh yeah, I have friends that might like this little 'chicken playhouse'! :-) If I had the cash, it would be theirs!...two of them!! :-]
Okay...I'm done doing blog posts for today. And I'm done playing house. ^_^ I' gonna show you some photos hubby took in the yard, and then call it a day!!...
I had to end it with a flower, didn't I?! ^_^ Have a good rest of the day, Everybody!!
Do You Play?!
I had some 'Play Time' in my youth,
back when my hips could take the heat.
I couldn't wait to find someone
that I could race, chase down, or beat!
How many times did I 'Hopscotch',
play some marbles, skip a rock?
And a game of 'Tag' could go
until you couldn't see the clock!
All my games were very active.
So much energy, people! WOW?!
But things have changed. It's different,
because I'm so much older now!
I still have 'Play Time' at my age,
but the games are slow and rare.
I like board games, playing cards,
things you do right from your chair.
The games I watch can't be too long.
I'll fall asleep! I'm kind of nod-dy.
And I have to use my mind.
No running round now with this body.
I play with things like yarn,
and with hooks...even thread.
And I play with pen and pencil,
pulling poems from my head.
Whichever way, I have to play!
It's my excuse to have a laugh.
I just have to keep it slow.
Don't want a charlie-horse in my calf!

Sooooo...What Did You Do On Your Busy Day?!
Let me start off this post by saying that I hope you all had a wonderfully busy day like I did! :-) Nope! I'm not complaining today!! It's been sunshiny, and quiet as can be around here. Just like I like it!! ^_^
I got up on time, did my exercises, did a little spiritual studying to put my brain in the right frame, had some breakfast, took some photos, and finished a couple of crochet necklaces...including the one in the header photo (and below)...
It rarely happens anymore, but today I felt like all my 'pistons were firing!'...mentally speaking. :-) If you lifted the hood on a real car I wouldn't know the difference between a piston and a pistol!...except that I don't know anyone that has a pistol under their hood! LOL
Of course, right now...I'm exhausted! But in a ♫ It's-a-beautiful-day-in-the-neighborhood ♫ ... and ♫ It's-so-good-to-have-this-time-together ♫...kind of way! ^_^ With nods to Mr. Rogers and Carol Burnett, of course! :-)) I'm tired, but feeling very accomplished! :-]
And even my backyard is looking happy! Look at all of the growth we're getting all over the place! :-) ...
Hubby took the flower pictures. :-] He wanted to get some nice pictures of them before the four days of rain that's on the way completely knocked them out!
While he was doing that, I was converting my owl flower brooch into an owl flower necklace! :-) ...
I was also working on my 'secret' project. :-) Okay...it's not a secret anymore! Look!!...
I'm working on a tissue box cover! :-) ...
It looks like it's all done, but it's not. I've got some more pieces to crochet for it, and some sewing to do! :-) Ooooo! You just wait until you see!!! ^_^ Of course, if you have a bunch of old crochet books laying around that you occasionally flip through...like I do, all the time!...you may have seen this project in it's completed form. If so.....Shhhhhhhh! :-))
I've even got some stuffing to do on a section of it! ^_^ And NO!...it's not another 'Baby Wuglyee' kind of thing either!! O_O ...*cold shiver!*...My crochet animal days are O-V-E-R!!! I just hope it comes out as cute as the crochet book's pictures show it to be!...Only time will tell! ^_^
If I wake up with as much energy tomorrow as I had today, I may finish it by tomorrow morning!...barring lots of painfully arthritic-inducing rain! Grrrr! WHATEVER!!!...I had today, and as my grandmother would say: "That's nothing to shake a stick at!!" LOL
Enjoy the rest of your assuredly busy day, Everybody! See you tomorrow! ^_^
Busy As A Beaver
I've been waiting for this moment,
where my crochet shop's involved,
to be busy as a beaver.
Now that problem has been solved.
I've been doing custom orders,
(Every customer had a tip)
Writing notes and tieing ribbons,
readying packages to ship.
Yes, I know that things could change,
I could hear crickets any day.
But for now I'll just enjoy it.
Beavers pat their tail this way!

Look What's Peeking Out In The Backyard!
Isn't that a pretty blue flower?! :-) ... Okay, it's not a pancake!...even though this is 'Pancake Sunday' around here. But I'll take it! ^_^ In fact, pancakes on Sunday are gonna change drastically, now that I'm considered 'borderline diabetic'. Instead of pancake flour and so forth, I'm gonna be trying new ways to make pancakes...like maybe this recipe for two ingredient pancakes (eggs and bananas) that I saw talked about on A Cup Of Jo's blog, HERE! :-) I may be trying this for next Sunday. Today it's seafood salad and a banana!...Don't judge me!! LOL
As I was saying!...about the pretty blue flower from the yard...
...It's so nice seeing flowers peeking out of the ground again! :-) ...
Some of you followers probably know the name of them, but I didn't stop hubby long enough to find out. ^_^ I didn't wanna start sneezing! LOL Yes, I sneeze even at the name of a flower from the yard!!! Ha! Ha!...Not really. But I can get a little 'twiggle' in my nose if I think for too long about what they must smell like! ^_^
Here's a few of the other little flowers that are popping up!...
There's not a lot of them. In fact, if you're not looking for them, you can walk all over my backyard and totally miss them!...
They're in little patches, and all around the edging. But mostly the backyard is looking green!.....green and lush! :-) There' no 'white stuff' to be found anymore. And no rain this morning either. (I think we had our fill of that yesterday!!) :-)
It's another relaxing morning...watching the tennis finals in Stuttgart and Barcelona. :-) By the way, congratulations to Maria Sharapova. She just won!! :-) "Maybe next time, Ivanovic!" :-) Since my 'Baby Boy' (Rafael Nadal) went out early in the tournament in Barcelona, I haven't been as interesting in the men's side of the draw. Although I am enjoying watching the rising career of Kei Nishikori! He's amazing!!
I've got other interests to focus on now....CROCHET! ^_^ My blanket needs my attention!! :-) Have a good day, Everybody! ♥
Daisy, Pretty Daisy
Daisy, pretty daisy,
with your petals all sprawled out;
Making sunshine, bees and children
wonder what you're all about.
All spread out in the garden,
up the sidewalk, down the lane;
So much prettier to look at
than all those street lights down on Main.
Daisy, pretty daisy,
in your red or white or pink.
Letting bees and flies land on you
so that they can take a drink.
It's hard to see you basking
in the sun and not just smile,
'cause you look like friends just hanging out
and talking for a while.
Daisy, pretty daisy,
rain or shine you have no care.
You just smile at passersby
and make us happy that you're there.
