Heat Wave.....'Sweet' Wave!!!! LOL
It almost looks like candy, doesn't it?...the brooch in the header photo, I mean! ^_^ Maybe it's just me! LOL I 'have' had candy on the brain today! You can blame hubby for that though. He bought a little bag of 'Mary Jane's' last night, and I started down 'memory road' as soon as I saw him eating them! :-)
I think I told you guys a while back about the little neighborhood store that was down the lane from where I lived as a little girl. The store where we would go almost every morning before school and buy penny candy! Ummmmmmm! :-) Oh! The 'hot balls', 'pixie stix', 'squirrel nuts', 'Mike 'N Ikes', etc.....!!!!!! ^_^
ANYWAY!!!! LOL Hubby gave me one or two, or eight, of his peanut buttery caramel 'Mary Janes'...Ummmmmmmm!...and all is now well! :-) Except that everything in the house is starting to look sweet and delicious!! LOL
Now what was I talking about?! O_O ... Oh Yeah! My now finished crochet tote bag!! ^_^ ...
Don't look at the photos too closely. They're not very good! But, in my defense, it's very hard to make deep green look good!...especially in yarn!...No matter how I laid it, propped it up, or positioned it...it still didn't get proper justice. O_O
And I'm actually very happy with this one! :-] I put a lot of love into this bag. It has a sewn on flower, button, and beaded 'candy-style' brooch! :-) And it's actually two whole totes crocheted one inside the other!...instead of settling for a flimsy tote with no lining! Even the handle straps are doubled! It's a very substantial and soon-to-be-practically-used-by-someone tote! ^_^
And no sooner did I finish it than another project was in the works!! :-) ...
My girlfriend brought me a bag of yarn that was given to her by her aunt, and I got started on a gift scarf for her right away! :-) You always should show yourself thankful when someone gives you something fabulous for FREE, right?!!! ^_^
And if somebody out there wants to give me a bag of penny candy for free....Oooooo! Just watch me be thankful!!...or in a sweaty sugar coma!....(We're in the midst of a minor heat wave here in Massachusetts right now.).....Whichever comes first! ^_^
Have a good rest of the day, Everybody!! ♥

So...Where Does The Line Of 'NICE' And 'TROUBLE' Divide?!
The story I'm about to tell you is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth!...Doesn't that sound dramatic?! ^_^ All I need at the end of that sentence is some 'Duh Duh Duhhhhhh' music! LOL What can I say people...it's early!! ^_^
The story I'm about to tell you is the story of how my husband's nice-ness almost went awry! But while I'm telling you the story I'm gonna share a few Etsy treasuries and the items in them, some of my crochet flower pins and necklaces, and a few flowers! :-) The Etsy items are just a few of the items from the different treasuries. So if you wanna see all of the items you'll have to click on the treasury photos, which have the items linked to the individual shops.
Now...the truthful story! :-) ... My husband is a nice guy. I mean, a really nice guy! In fact...sometimes too nice, in my opinion. Sometimes his nice-ness can get him in trouble!! Here's an example: My husband drives a van that transports disabled and elderly clients. During the trip he talks to the clients, their families, and the staff at the center where he drops them off and picks them up every day. They love him!
They love him so much that he's always coming home with some gift or another that they insisted that he take! O_O It started with some gum that one of the client's family members gave them, that they couldn't chew! So, since my husband 'could' chew...they gave it to him! :-)) He said 'Thank You' and went on his way!
The next time, one of his clients baked some homemade chocolate chip cookies!...My husband doesn't eat chocolate. He's kinda allergic...kinda! :-)) So, he brought them home to me! They wouldn't take 'No Thank You' for an answer! And I love chocolate! ^_^
During the time that he's worked for this company, between the clients and the staff of the center he transports the clients to, there have been gifts of gum, candy (even sugarless candy!), cookies, salt water taffy (more than once with the taffy!...with it gift wrapped with a bow!! ^_^), fast food gift cards, and so forth!...But the last gift got him and I in a 'BIG' discussion about where the line should be drawn on these gifts!! O_O ...
...And the reason is because one of the staff women gave him a sealed envelope with a fast food gift card, and CASH!!! O_O Not a tremendously lot of cash, but still!! O_O ... Then I started asking questions! :-))
Why is she giving you cash?!..."I don't know!"..."Did you do something extra for her, like carry something somewhere or clean something?!"..."No."... "Do you think she's trying to flirt with you?!"... "With me?!!!! Ha! Ha!...NO!!!"
Now, you would think that those questions would end the questioning, right?...especially since he didn't have the answer to any of them!! LOL But nooooooo! Those questions produced other questions. And here is where the trouble could've started!!
My next question was: "Could you get in trouble with your boss for taking money from them?!"...And you should've seen my hubby's face!!! O_O Then he said: "Why? It's only a gift!"...But I said: "Yeah, but 'gifts' can have connotations, depending on who and why they give you the gift, right?!"
Okay...so maybe I'm having flashbacks to tv programs where gifts were 'hush money' or something! LOL But it just made me a little uncomfortable to think that his boss didn't know he was getting all of these gifts, innocent though they were. So....he rectified that problem. He talked to his boss about it.
As it turns out, his boss doesn't have a problem with an occasional gift, here or there, of cookies or candy. But in fact, he would rather discourage the gift thing as regards money and expensive items, because it could get into some shaky water...so to speak!... I agree!!
Has this kind of thing ever happened to any of you?! O_O ... I told my husband: "I'd rather you not take the gifts at all! Who knows if one of your clients will forget they 'gave' it to you, and then later accuse you of stealing or something!! Then it would be a whole big thing!!! O_O Hubby agreed!...Therefore 'gift-taking' is now off the table!!!
It's kinda sad, really, that the world is such that you have to worry about something as simple as a gift!!...But, unfortunately, that's the world we live in! And if you're gonna keep life smile-able, and not end up in jail for just trying to be nice, you have to be aware of the pitfalls........and try your best to avoid 'em!! LOL
And that's the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth!!! ^_^ And flowers?!...Here you go! :-) ...
Have a good day, Everybody!! ♥

What a sweet Weekend!
Well, you know I don't mean sweet...as in eating chocolate covered cherries, right?! ^_^ Because I didn't!!...In fact the above listing isn't even for chocolate! It's for body butter! :-) But Ohhhhh!...it sure looks good, doesn't it?! :-)
When I said it's been a sweet weekend I was talking about the weather...in the 60s, I think....and about the fact that hubby finally got his car on the road. YAY!!! :-) He still has to get it inspected, and do a few 'fix-ups', but he's driving it! And he said it runs great! :-) {If you read this blog you may remember the car. It's the one that was his father's! ^_^}
Something else that was sweet this weekend was the plants coming up in the backyard!...all by themselves!!...
Ahhhhhh!...Nice weather, and plants and flowers!! :-) ... "Hello Spring! It took you long enough!!" ^_^ You got here just in time for our special event for this time of year...the memorial of Christ's death...which is tomorrow Monday, April 14, 2014, after sundown, the anniversary of Jesus' death). Millions of people will be attending, and you are welcome too!!...{Just as a special note, for anyone that might be interested, all of the local Kingdom Halls of Jehovah's Witnesses will have a brief talk that explains why Jesus' death is so important. You, your family, and your friends are welcome to attend!...If you don't know what time it will be given in your area, just call the local Kingdom Hall and inquire.}
Now it's time for some 'sweet sleep'! :-] That's the fitting thing for such a sweet day as this, don't you think?!...Or else you can eat some chocolate covered cherries! ^_^

Time To Wrap This Thing Up!
Good Morning! :-) And yes...I do know that some of you are waaaaaay past morning! But just indulge me a happy 'good morning' just for today, will ya! ^_^ I slept good. My sister's coming to visit today. And I wanna generally be in a good mood today, to counteract the two 'not so good' days I had prior to now!
The weather is not gonna cooperate with me today, I don't think! It's freeeeeeezing outside! It's in the 20s!! Brrrrr! Thankfully there's still no snow on the ground...yet though. Although there 'is' snow on the ground in the south! O_O I saw on the news that North Carolina and Virginia got snow yesterday!!! WOW! This weather really is wacky!!...Pretty!...but wacky!...
Maybe we should all be dogs. Then it wouldn't matter what the weather was doing! ^_^ I say that because of the news report about the first dog to climb Mt. Everest! He was with his owner, walking and climbing that mountain, and wagging his tail, as if he was in the Caribbean about to go surfing in the noonday sun!! LOL...
If I was a dog....if I was a dog I still wouldn't be that gullible about 'the white stuff'!! LOL That stuff is wet...and cold...and COLD!!! ^_^ As I said before, it's pretty...to look at...but still!!!
I guess it's time to sell some wintertime wraps! ^_^ ...
If you're interested in this shawl though (above), you better get it quick! I got an email with a customer asking me how much I'd sell it for...my bottom line. I told her to make me an offer. If she comes back with something reasonable...something that takes into account the time I spent making it, and the fact that it can double as a fancy coat if need be...it'll be sold!! :-)
But I still have a couple of other warm scarves, etc...
I have a lot of them that I haven't renewed and put back in the shop yet. I'm not sure if I will either...because to ship them it costs more than the price I'm asking for them, in some cases...depending on how far they're being shipped to!...If you're interested in a scarf of a certain color, just let me know. I'll see what I have.
For now...with my phone ringing off the hook!...I gotta go! So, y'all have a good day!! I'll update you tomorrow! :-) For now I'll just leave you a little candy to hold you over. ^_^

Say Cheese...With A Fork In It!!
Before I get started let me thank falboart for the use of the artwork in this post. I love it when I need to tell a story and I find an Etsy shop that perfectly assists me!! Thank you falboart! :-) {By the way, all of the prints/posters used in this post are for sell in his shop HERE. Or you can click directly on any photo to go to that particular piece.}
Now...the story. I should start by telling you that the name of the cubist dental artwork in the header photo is Say Cheese. It was done by Anthony Falbo. When I was looking for a way to tell you about my hubby's trip to the dentist the other day, not only did I see this image, but I saw the whole series of dental artwork done in his shop!....SCORE!!
Yes, hubby and I have had some issues with a lot of things where our bodies are concerned. Well, mostly me! ^_^...But one thing we hadn't had a lot of problems with is our teeth! We've both always had pretty strong teeth!...
...Well, except for a yellowing tooth in the front of hubby's mouth...a crown gone bad from his younger football days...*giggle*...and my front tooth crown from....well...it just broke off, okay!!
I think a chicken bone got it on one of my particularly ravenous 'girl' days!...Whatever!! LOL
But over the last couple of weeks hubby was complaining occasionally about a toothache. He couldn't put hot or cold things directly on it...
I resisted...strongly...the urge to say "I TOLD YOU SO!!"...and I really wanted to...because for months prior to this tooth issue I've been trying to dissuade him from his new found love...Twizzlers ...
...and other gummy, chewy candies too! {Although...YUM!!! You really can't beat a Twizzler, can you? It's low-fat and everything!!! ^_^}
Ummmm...where was I now?!...Oh yeah!...Anyway...he's been chewing away on these candies and getting the sugars all stuck to his teeth. And on more than one occasion I found him with a fork tine wedged in his mouth trying to pry something off of a tooth, or to get it from between a tooth! Grrrr! A fork!!!!...Really?!!
So, imagine my surprise when this toothache just popped up out of nowhere!.....yeah right!
Shortly after that...he realized there was a hollow or broken off area in one of the molars, and the pain was becoming more intense...
So, I made him call the dentist...and yes, ladies...which some of you wives already know I'm sure!...some husbands are the kind you have to MAKE call the dentist!!...*I resist following that sentence with the word "babies!!" LOL*
Don't get me wrong!...hubby goes to the dentist regularly, but those visits are when he's going to get them cleaned by the smiling dental hygienist who LOVES his teeth!...
...He loves hearing her say how great his teeth are, and how they're hardly crooked or anything!! :-))
I had to make him call when he knew that when he got there the dentist, nor the hygienist, were gonna be smiling at him!! They were gonna be unhappy!...especially with the knowledge that he's been eating all that teeth-eroding candy, not flossing his teeth regularly, but instead...'forking' his teeth!!...Oh no! They were not gonna be happy at all!!
Now comes the really bad part!! ^_^ The dentist office he went to is the same dentist office that I refused to go to anymore!...long story. But suffice it to say that the reason I finally decided to high-tail it outta there...for good!...was when I had a tooth removed also. The dentist almost removed the wrong tooth because he came in the wrong room! He had about three extractions going in three different rooms all at the same time!!
Anyway!...when I finally was sure he knew who he was working on, and I was sufficiently numbed up...that's another whole story!...he went to take my tooth out and he was yanking my head and twisted my neck so much that I thought I was gonna get killed in the chair by a snapped broken neck!...or at the very least, end up with whiplash!...not what you expect to come away with when you leave the dentist office carrying your huge tooth with the roots still dangling!!...Yes he did!!!! YIKES!....NOT AGAIN....NOT ME anyway!!!
Hubby felt bad that I left the dentist office like I did...in a huff, without a 'I'm so sorry, but I'll be going to another dentist from now on. Thank you for your services. ♥'...But that's not how I was feeling when I left there!!! And I'm not a faker!! They just better be glad I didn't tell them...in front of their whole waiting room full of customers...how I was REALLY feeling!! I thought that was polite enough!! LOL
But hubby went back!! And he's been going back...without incident, until now!...So, he went in, told them what the problem was, they took an X-ray...
...and Oh Yeah! That baby had to come out!! Apparently it was all broken down in the gum and everything!
They didn't take it out on the first visit though. They sent him away with a prescription for antibiotics that he had to take for a week to get rid of any infection that might've developed, and then he had to go back in for the extraction.
I think he secretly thought that since there was now a whole slew of new dentists sharing the work-load in this dentist office, he wouldn't even see the same dentist that gave me so much trouble!...But guess what?! ^_^ That's the one he got!! I think he's their 'dental office extraction expert'!....and that ain't saying much for this office!! ^_^
Into the chair he went...I'm glad I wasn't there to witness what happened next!!!...
He had the exact same experience I did! Yanking and yanking, knee to the waist pulling, drilling, jabbing, bleeding, and more yanking...and the tooth came out in more than one piece. The dentist kept going back in...and back in...and back in!! Hubby jokingly says...now!...that he thought he was gonna come out of there deaf and blind and not be able to have babies ever again!! LOL {Although who he's planning to have those with...he's still not clear on! LOL I know one thing...it's NOT ME! That's for sure!!!...They might come out with twizzlers and forks stuck up their nose!! ^_^}
Anyway!....the teeth he has left,...after warm salt and water for a couple of days, and a prescription for Vicodin...which he didn't fill...are very happy!...and that was all he wanted in the first place! :-]
I almost said THE END! But there is a prolog...I don't think he'll be going back to this dentist office again!...Well, maybe he will...to see the nice smiling hygienist! :-))

He had the exact same experience I did! Yanking and yanking, knee to the waist pulling, drilling, jabbing, bleeding, and more yanking...and the tooth came out in more than one piece. The dentist kept going back in...and back in...and back in!! Hubby jokingly says...now!...that he thought he was gonna come out of there deaf and blind and not be able to have babies ever again!! LOL {Although who he's planning to have those with...he's still not clear on! LOL I know one thing...it's NOT ME! That's for sure!!!...They might come out with twizzlers and forks stuck up their nose!! ^_^}
Candy Rhyme
It's not right...I know,
to start your day with a chocolate face;
But the M&Ms with peanuts
gave my dream such a lovely taste.
It got me really thinking
about the candies of my youth,
like "Pixie Sticks" and "Twizzlers",
WOW! I had such a big 'Sweet Tooth'!
I remember in the playground,
trading candy like a stock.
It's a wonder you never hear
of kids going into "candy shock"!
'Hershey's with almonds',
'Kit Kats' and 'Peanut Bars';
Chocolate 'Reese's cups',
'3 Musketeers' and 'Mars'.
'Pay Days', 'Sugar Babies',
'Nestle's Crunch' and 'Heath Bars' too;
'York Peppermint patties',
because hard candies just won't do.
'Snickers', 'Milky Way',
'Butterfinger', Raisinets';
All that chocolate, good for me,
but not good for household pets!
'Twix', 'Reese's Pieces',
'Almond Joy', and Oh Yeah!, 'Mounds';
'Tootsie Rolls' and 'Whoppers'
I could eat them by the pounds!
'Dove Bar', 'Now or Laters',
'Laffy Taffy', 'Zagnut', 'Skor'.
Okay, I'm gonna stop now,
but there's plenty, plenty more!
Now that I'm grown up
I don't eat candy all the time.
Instead, I have sweet dreams of it,
and write a candy rhyme!

Ooooooo!....For Me?!
Don't you love getting gifts?! Especially gifts wrapped with pretty red silk ribbons?!....What?! O_0 You mean this doesn't happen to you all the time?! LOL Okay.....it doesn't happen to me that often either. But Oh! How wonderful when it does!!
The reason I got it was because we were invited to a wedding shower dinner by a friend who is getting married very soon. Congrats to you M, by the way. :-) This was the gift that was given to the guests.
It came in this silver-bow laden green neon bag too! It felt so special! :-)
Wanna see what was inside?!......Look!
Look at the pretty roses all over it!!!!!!! :-]
I love little jewelry boxes!...At least that's what it's going to be to me! I'm going to keep my wedding rings in it!...Speaking of which, those of you who are married, do you take your wedding rings off at night, or do you wear them at all times?
That's a question that came up recently when talking to some friends. I was surprised to find that most of my girlfriends keep theirs on!! They sleep in them and everything!...Maybe it's not such a surprise to you all, but the idea of having my finger restricted all night long gives me a.....*pulling at the collar on my nightie*...claustrophobic feeling. LOL
Yes, it's another edition of "TOO MUCH INFORMATION ABOUT THE WUG"!! ^_^
You already know it, but I've got issues!! And those issues include not having things wrapped around or pulling at me when I'm TRYING to get some sleep! You wanna know how serious it is? Well....
...If it was left up to me, I would be happy to only wear what I came into the world wearing!....You got me?! I don't have to say it, do I?!! ^_^ So, when it comes to sleeping...the pastime I love almost as much as writing poetry, crocheting, and listening to music....I don't want anything around my body, around my neck, around my finger, or...and I know this is going to cement my claim that I have issues....around my hair! I won't even wear a scrunchie (the cloth ponytail holder) to bed!!
I've tried, at times when we were out of town, staying with relatives. {I didn't want to be caught 'au naturale' as a guest in a relative's unlocked doored bedroom! LOL} But it always ended up with hubby sleeping on the side of the bed nearest the door, and me getting up before the sun came up, so I could get dressed in an appropriate 'AWAKE' manner. LOL
So, this cute little box...
...which was housing some delicious chocolate, is now going to be the place that houses my wedding rings....and maybe a pair of earrings, for fast dressing! LOL
And, who knows, maybe I will put an occasional chocolate or two in there also! :-) Hmmmm......chocolate! O_0 Now, why did I go and say that?!!
Have a good day everybody! :-)
