I Need A Hat For Today's Virtual Date! :-)

      I usually try to be all coy and everything about where we're hubby and I will be going on our Friday night virtual date. But not today! :-) We're heading to France...Roland Garros to be exact. And you know why too, if you read my blog, that is! ^_^ 

      The French Open tennis tournament is heading into the round of sixteen, and we don't want to miss the next few matches! :-) It's already been a WOW!-fest at the French Open, with the numbers one, two, and three, on the women's side...OUT!! O_O Serena Williams, Li Na, and Agnieszka Radwan'ska are all gone!...It's the first time in the open era that all three of the top seeded players were gone before the round of sixteen!!

      I still have my eyes on a couple of players on the women's side...Maria Sharapova, Sloane Stephens, Sara Errani, and Garbine Muguruza to be exact. :-) ... And, of course, you know whose keeping my eye on the men's side of the draw: MY 'BABY BOY'! ^_^ That would be Rafa Nadal for those who don't know!! LOL Although with Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, David Ferrer, Donald Young, Andy Murray, John Isner, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, and Gael Monfils all still in it, it's gonna be a great tournament anyway you cut it!! ^_^ ... And because the weather is pretty good in France...with occasional bouts of rain (the same as it's been here!)...I'm definitely gonna pack a hat or two! ^_^

      Other than snacking while I'm packing, watching tennis, and also watching the hummingbird battle the backyard wind...like a ♫ sparrow in a hurricane! ♫ (remember that song?! ^_^)...I'm not doing much else right now. With the wind tossing around, and the rain falling, it's hard to believe that just a few short hours ago my backyard looked like this...

      It was sunny and bright, and the lawn guys were having a good time trying to tame my backyard grass, while not disturbing the flowers!...

      Awwwwww!.....Sun! :-)

      But since we can't have sun all the time, we have to waste our time listening to good music, watching tennis, or eating good stuff! :-) ...

Virtual trip

I really like to travel,
See the world, expand my mind.
But not getting on an airplane,
or hunting luggage I can't find!

I like a 'good ole' virtual trip.
Computer details. Music too.
Where you don't need a 'stinking' passport,
or have to wear a 'stinking' shoe!

But a little stay at home,
under covers, lock and key,
can also be expansive.
Even if it's 'virtually'.

      I have to start today's post with an apology that I missed my post yesterday. I was busy! :-] I'll show you what I was busy with in a minute. But first I wanna say: "Happy Virtual Date Day" to my hubby. ♥ And I also wanna share something really cute for you creative jewelry makers out there! :-) ...

      I found this Etsy shop, with the cutest drop charm dangles!!...

      They'd make some great focal points for any piece of jewelry!...but I can just see them...in my mind's eye...on my crochet flower necklaces! ^_^ How pretty they are!!...And so colorful! :-)

      I haven't been making as many crochet necklaces lately. But I have been re-fashioning some of my 'expired' brooches into crochet necklaces! Something.....ANYTHING!...to try to get that expired list GONE!! :-] ... I think I may need to have a 50% off sale!...SOON!!

      Okay...let me show you my latest finished product! :-) ... Last time I showed it to you, it looked like this...

      
       Obviously it's a tissue box cover. :-) But what I liked about this project so much was that after it's finished it doesn't exactly look like a tissue box!...I found the pattern for it in one of my old crochet pattern books. It's from the year 2000...14 years ago!
      Finishing it involved a lot of tedious, focused, work!! It also involved using fiberfill, some of my old vintage buttons, and some ribbon! :-) These (below)  are a few of the accessories!...

      But here's the finished project! :-) ...
 

      It's creation won a first prize, the magazine said. :-) I can see why!!...

       
      Crocheting the sofa arm, and sewing it into place, and then making those little decorative pillows, was INTENSE!!! O_O And, for me, a ONE TIME PROJECT!!! O_O It reminded me of the hard work I put into making my 'Baby Wuglyee' crocheted bear!!! YIKES! And you know I'm 'never' doing that again!! :-))

      The funny thing for me was when I went to do a 'crochet tissue box' search on Etsy...to get a feel for how much I should charge for my tissue box. O_O Wanna see what I found?!...

      I saw the pattern being sold! O_O I didn't even know that the magazine that held the pattern was out of print!!...But I do now! :-) And if you wanna make the tissue box yourself, you can get the pattern by clicking the above photo and following it over to the Etsy shop that's selling it! :-)

        Something else that I found in my search is that I'm not the only one that had the bright idea to try making this sofa tissue box! :-) Take a look!...

It comes from curiosity,

      I did a post late last night, so I'm not gonna do a lot of talking here this morning...and STOP clapping Y'all!! ^_^ But I did wanna say 'Happy Virtual Friday' to my husband. My hard working support system. ♥♥♥ He's had his hands full lately, but he's handling it like a 'trooper'!! ♥

      We're gonna just spend the day alone in a tent somewhere. I'm not gonna tell you where because somebody might show up and 'squash' our Friday vibe!! LOL As it is our trip might be delayed by another round of blood-work. But whatever! I can do blood-work now! Go ahead, white-coated vampires!! Take all you want...Uhhhhh...within reason! O_O

     I'm all about Friday...and Love...and Music...today! :-) And I hope your Friday has lots of the same! Happy Friday, Everybody!! ♥♥♥

      I need your help, blog readers, before I continue with today's post!! O_O I'm trying to find out how many people are actually reading this blog, and I think my numbers aren't telling me the truth! So, PLEASE!...if you read this blog daily, or weekly, or EVER!       Now!...on to today's post...It's Friday, people!! :-) And in my case...'Virtual Friday Date Night' day!! YAY!!!...The problem is...uhhhh...I don't know where we're going, 'IF' we're going, or nothing!! It's been one of those kind of weeks where I've traveled more than I've wanted to already this week, and I'm feeling like putting on some 'footy' pajamas, calling 'Uno's Pizzeria' for TAKE-OUT, and 'vegging'!! ^_^

       Usually, for our Friday date, hubby and I are all about packing light, dressing ourselves up in good-looking but comfortable clothes...

      ...wearing our slip-on shoes to the 'virtual' airport, and going somewhere fun for good music and good food!! :-) But this week we've 'Been There/Done All That' already!!...It wasn't all that much fun, because the travel plans took us on a highway trip...but not to anywhere fun! But it was taxing on the mind and body...FOR SURE!! All of the traffic, waiting, dressing, un-dressing, poking, prodding, etc... (Doctor's Visit) UGH!

     Needless to say, if I don't see another professional smiling face this week...I'll be just fine!!! :-] ... And food?!......Oh Yes! We had good food!!!!... 

      Chicken, sweet potatoes, and salad!...care of some dear, dear, friends of ours! ^_^ ♥♥♥...
 

      They called and said they were bringing it over!!...Yeah! Just like that! :-) ...
 

      And, IT.......WAS........DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      The funny thing is...they had no way of knowing that hubby and I were having one of those "what-do-you-want-for-dinner?!"..."No, what do you want for dinner?"...kind of days! By the time he went to work in the afternoon we were still undecided...and we had a meeting last night!
      That shared meal...still hot when it got here!!...was dropped right out of the sky!...sorta kinda. ^_^ ♥ I would thank them by name here...with blinking lights and everything!...but that might be a bit much for them. :-)) So, I'll control myself and just say 'THANK YOU, YOU KNOW WHO!!!" ^_^ And...uhhhhh...if hubby could get the recipe for the chicken he...and I...would appreciate it!! ^_^
      As to music, I have been listening to music all week!...but mostly during the breaks while watching tennis. ^_^...Yeah, tennis is still on! ^_^ (Indian Wells)...But I haven't been listening to 'date' music!...You know, love songs. So, maybe that's something we 'could' do!! :-) ...

      Friday!!...where have you been all my...week!! ^_^ Oh, have I been waiting for Friday to get here this week!...It's been a long one! But finally I can take a deep breath, relax, and look forward to spending some quality time with my hubby.

      It's been a long week...because of hubby's job, mostly. The company he works for lost a contract at the place where hubby was delivering most of his clients...a place that wasn't far from home. :-(  Now hubby has to go where the clients are...about three more hours of his time away from home...*sigh*

      Yes, I know it's not the end of the world. I mean, the weather around here isn't showing snow....yet!...

      There are no hurricanes or typhoons barreling down on us....* my heart goes out to the Philippines though!...with a 195 mph typhoon devastating their area right now!! :-( *...

      In the meantime, while I wait for hubby to get off work, I'm quietly sitting and watching the morning news, wrapping two packages for shipping this morning...*Thank You!! ^_^*...and having a little breakfast!...

      A hot buttered corn muffin...Ooooo! O_O I just wonder if there's 'trans-fat' in it!!!...*blink, blink*...as if I didn't have enough to worry about!! LOL...Sometimes the morning news can be scary...if you let it!...I try not to let it! I mean, if I changed everything that 'STUDIES SAY...' would kill me...you'd have an alive dead person typing the blog post you're reading right now!! LOL
      If this world continued much longer, 'something' would get all of us!!!! ^_^ So, I'm putting my trust in God, and his word, the Bible. I'm hoping never to die at all!!! But if it happens, and I know it could!...it'll be a complete surprise to me!! And that's the way I prefer to live....in positivity! :-) Even so...an apple a day can't hurt!! LOL...

      It's Friday.....Let's just relax, shall we! ^_^

Salads; veggie, seafood, chicken.
Fried and floured, finger lickin'.

Hoagies, subs, and roast beef stew.
Catfish, dash of hot sauce too.

Pizza, mushroom, peppers, tomatoe.
Apple fries instead of potato.

Catch-up, mustard, condiments.
Onion rings? I'm on the fence.

Frosty, frothy, milk shake sip.
Coffee Coolata, doughnut, dipped.

No matter if it's hot or chilled.
Definitely a happy meal.

     Well, because I've been on a date ever since my anniversary in the middle of the week! ^_^ We're enjoying the long, long, date night...right on into the weekend!! :-) Even though a few things have happened to try to derail our good time! what would I want to see and do?
Exactly what I see and do right now,
because I get to do it all with you!
