Look What Popped Back Up!!

If you didn't see my post the other day, about what happened when the thunderstorm 'pow powed' my backyard, this post will look like just a story about goldenrod. :-] Well...actually...that's what it is! A story about goldenrod! Ha! Ha!...

...and about bees who love goldenrod. :-) The bushes have been full to the brim with bees!!! In fact, if you look close at the photos you'll see them...

I don't have a camera with close up enough to show you, but each bee looks like he has saddle bags hanging on his legs! Ha! Ha! ...Pollen...*cold shiver*...Ohhhh! The sneezing of my brains clear out of my head I would be doing if I was out there!!! ^_^ ...

As you can see, the goldenrod that had been in a 'laying down' position, due to the thunderstorm 'sock-in-the-chin' it took, is now standing tall again...and thriving! :-) The bees are loving it too! But I don't think they're gonna last long, because our temperatures have changed drastically....*brrrr!*...I think you could even call the weather "brisk"...or... "chilly", especially early in the morning.
I think Fall (Autumn) is finally gonna come...and stay! I can see clues all around now...not just the dropping temperatures either. Our lone hummingbird has been missing for a couple of days now...and the leaves on the trees in the area are starting to change to pretty golds and reds. :-]
Pretty soon the only green that's gonna be left is the green in my Wuglyees shop! ^_^ Or should I say 'blue green'!...

I just made these yesterday. I just realized I had this thread!...I don't know why I never made these before! I think they're a great 'manly' color, don't you?!
As of today, I'm gonna be working on a couple of wedding sets in the shop. I'm thinking maybe a groom's boutonniere, 5 lapel pins, a ring bearer's pillow, and who knows what else! ^_^ I'm still mentally working on it! Ha! Ha!
Right now I think I'm gonna work on getting me a few more Zzzzs! I woke up around 3:30 a.m. and haven't been able to go back to sleep!! Ugh! I just love my surges of hormones!!!!....N-O-T!!!! LOL
Have a good day, Everybody! :-) You know what day it is, right?!....Hump Day! ^_^

I Think I Need To...

I think I need to change things up,
flip the script, change direction;
I don't want to lose my love
for that which I have so much affection?

I think I need some brand new eyes,
to see things a different way.
Because the way that I've been seing
really isn't gonna pay.

I think, because it's me, I need
some creative inspiration.
Some sketches, markers, ball point pens,
and some Disney animation.

I think that this may take some time.
It seems a lot for me to do.
So, maybe I should change my mind.
I'll let you know and get back to you!

Thanks To A Green Husband...There Goes My Date Night!

Hubby has been so careful!!...sanitizer or gloves every time he went to the post office; washing his hands like a crazy person every time he went out of the house and came back in; no hugging or kissing of friends...and when he forgot and did hug or kiss someone, he would immediately go into 'kill bacteria' mode!...taking vitamin C, and spraying everything with Lysol!!...Sorry friends, but yes he did spray the chair you sat in, and put on rubber gloves to handle the glass you drank out of! LOL
But even with all of the exaggagerated carefulness!!....*cough! cough!*...this morning he woke up with a lot of...excuse me for the straight-forward language...PHLEGM!!! And then...a fever started!...*sigh*...So far it's not that bad. He's drinking LOTS of water and green tea with honey and lemon...

        ...and sleeping.

I'm so sympathetic too! Can't you tell?! ^_^ Actually, I'm probably not as sympathetic as I should be. All I want is for him to feel better....and not touch me!!!! LOL He can keep his sickly green to himself!! ^_^
He woke up a few minutes ago and said something to me, and he sounded like his voice was two degrees deeper than normal....Nooooooooooo! O_O Poor baby. :-( ... He says he feels a little better. Knowing him though, he's probably saying that because he doesn't want me to be upset. That's how he is when he's sick...and green...thoughtful and docile. :-( ... Not like me, who would be whining...crabby...dressing in my nicest attire for napping...

...listening to bouncy music...begging for more and more back rubs...and eating! ^_^

The above photos...sorry Y'all! :-) ...is some of the delicious banana bread my girlfriend brought us again this week...YUM...and topped by some homemade applesauce!!...hubby made it!...before he became green, of course! LOL

Back to what I was talking about!..We're still not sure how hubby caught it...whatever 'it' is!...Was it grabbing a door knob when he was at the post office;...Or going out onto the patio barefoot to take photos....YES HE DID! Grrrrr!;...Or was it when he shook hands with the woman that came over to ask me the health questions?!...which, by the way, wasn't that many questions...because three other people are gonna come and do that!! *blink, blink*...In any case, he got a little complacent about the 'carefulness'... probably because he thought the snow would kill everything!...NOT!
By the way, it's still snowing!! ...Thankfully it's not accumulating that much in our area. I don't think we have more than 2 or 3 inches.

Only time will tell if it's gonna turn into an all out cold...flu...event! O_O I sure hope not!!! I'm the sick one around here! Me! Me!!!!! LOL Hubby is not suppose to get sick! And he's not suppose to be carrying 'cooties' and giving me new sicknesses....newer than my 'old' sicknesses I mean. ^_^ I already know how my 'old' sicknesses are gonna behave for the most part. I don't wanna be throwing new 'acting up' in the mix!! LOL

I mean, given enough time, I can do green too!...Other than my boutonnieres too! ^_^

All jokes aside, I have to tell you also that we got a phone call late last night. You know, one of those late night phone calls that come from someone who doesn't call often, and who never calls you at night! One of those phone calls you just know is gonna be bad news!...And it was. :-(
One of my friends passed away. :-( I hadn't even known she was 'that' sick...*sigh*... Is it me, or does it seem like people are dropping like flies lately?! O_O I have a lot of friends with catastrophic illnesses, and I keep hearing stories of other people dealing with serious illnesses too!...*sigh*...If not for my faith that very soon things will get better, it would be tough to deal with all of it...How do people with no belief in God, no understanding of the Bible, or no religious upbringing, deal with it?!...How do they answer the questions of life?...and death?! O_O
Speaking of questions, hubby and I are gonna do a post where we answer questions. We're gonna gather 20 questions from any of you with questions. Ask us anything!...but keep it clean, please! You can ask the questions in the comments section below, or send them to my email. (click my profile above to find the email link) I'm kinda excited to see whether there is anything about us that you don't already know! ^_^

Okay...off to doctor a green husband! LOL Have a good day, Everybody! :-)

The cold came out of nowhere

The cold came out of nowhere,
like a dark gray cloud of gloom.
It descended on our big plans.
Our sick-bed became a womb.

We could hear our hearts were beating,
as we laid there in one spot.
With this cold, we needed rest,
and rest is exactly what we got!

As we rolled from left to right,
with sniffling, coughing, fever too,
it was nice to have some quiet,
and no plans of things to do.

The cold came out of nowhere,
and it left us just as quick.
It's a good thing too, because
we don't have time for getting sick?!

Green...In Treasuries And In Marriage!

Happy Monday, Everybody!...or is it Tuesday where you live?! ^_^ Whatever the case, Happy, Happy!! :-) Let's make the beginning of this week get off to a good start, shall we!...I'm gonna do my part. I'm gonna share my weekend happiness with you! :-)
My weekend happiness has to do with a well thought out conclusion I came to over the weekend. It has to do with marriage...I even wrote a new poem about it. It's at the end of this post....NO!...I don't want you to scroll down there yet!!! LOL...First let me share something else that made me happy this weekend!...

My little crochet necklace was chosen for a cute treasury full of my favorite color...green! :-)

       Happy, happy! :-)

And here are a couple of my favorite items from the treasury, besides the earrings in the header photo I mean...

Now...the happy conclusion I came to over the weekend is that I'm happy to be a long time married person! ;-) ... I wouldn't go back to being a short time married person if you paid me!!!
I'm not gonna get into the particulars, but let me just say...newly married people have so much energy!...passion!...emotion!...anxiety!...anxiousness!....Aargh! LOL...Of course they, being short time married people, think it's great! They don't see anything wrong with all of that 'what-are-we-gonna-do-next? Where-are-we-gonna-go-now?' energy!...but as long time married people, hubby and I get tired just watching them navigate the world! LOL
It's sometimes hard for hubby and I to believe that we used to be like that! We used to bounce from event to event, gathering to gathering...we used to get very upset at the slightest seeming sideways comment...we used to celebrate everything as an anniversary {the anniversaries of our first kiss, our first hand-hold, our first car ride, our first long talk, etc...}...we used to think that no one on the planet loved each other as much as we loved each other! ugh!...we were sickening!!! ^_^
I was reminded of all of that angst this weekend....and reminded how thankful I am that we're not back in it anymore!!! ^_^ ... All due respect to newly married people. We 'do' get it! You love each other!!! And we're so happy to see true love in the world, but WOW!!! We can't wait to see what you're like at year ten...or twenty!...when you finally realize that just because your husband doesn't finish your every word, or your wife doesn't wanna fix your favorite dish at every meal, that doesn't mean that your love is dying!...ugh! LOL
At 30 plus years hubby and I are more deeply in love than we ever were! But I still don't think his toenails are cute, and he doesn't love the way I smell early in the morning....Shoot us! LOL...Making sure we hold hands when other people are around is not a priority, and making sure we never argue about ANYTHING is not even close to being what we aspire to! Sometimes an argument is necessary!...We just don't get into calling names or bringing each other's 12-toed relatives into it!! LOL
As I said...Ahhhhh! The Happiness!!....I was never so happy to see a Monday come!!! LOL...Have a Happy Monday, Everybody!...And you short time marrieds....bring it down a notch for us old timers, will ya!! ^_^

The Long and Short Of It

Long time marriage is not the same as
those just married for a year.
Short time marriages are fearless.
An easier said: "I'm outta here!"

Long time marriages are fearful,
but not of who is gonna leave.
They're more fearful of cleaned closets,
and what clothes their spouse will heave.

Short time marriages are passion filled.
Everything is 'do or die'!
Anniversaries are epic,
usually a feasting for the eye.

Long time marriages are quieter.
Life's a journey. Not a ride.
Their mate's faults, inconsequential.
But their stories, deep and wide.

Short time marriages 'Go! Go! Go!'
Always planning what's next to do.
An excited bride is always learning,
and the groom is learning how to please his 'boo'.

Long time marriages are more settled.
there is nowhere they 'HAVE TO' be.
And if someone else thinks so,
just try to 'Make 'Em' and you'll see!

Don't get me wrong, there's clearly love
in both the short and the long of it.
But the way that they approach it?
Yeah, it varies quite a bit.

Short time lovers, and their in-laws,
wonder how it's gonna go.
Long time lovers know that wonder,
like their in-laws, ebb and flow.

Short time marrieds, always seeking,
feel everything is on the line.
Long time marrieds know they'll make it,
and are just seeking where next to dine!

It's Not Easy Being Green...Or Waking Up!

I love it when I find something on Etsy that looks just like me! :-)) ... Yep! This cute little felt pin looks just like me this morning...all wide eyed...and green!...More correctly I should say that this is how I feel NOW. I didn't feel like that the first time I woke up, at 2:30-ish a.m., but I made the mistake of thinking I would lie back down and get a few more winks. You know, a little 'cat nap' after the big sleep! ^_^ I woke up at 8:00 a.m., and all out of sorts!
The truth is, I didn't feel that great when I went to bed last night. I had a pain in my tummy for some reason. I think that's why I woke  up so early. I haven't woke up early for a long time now! I've been sleeping pretty good...Well, 'pretty good' being for the 'long time' of about two weeks or so....That's what I call a long time, with my old lady sleep issues! ^_^
Now I'm feeling all 'green'...and like I need to go back to bed, and reset the clock.  I'm so out of it that it feels like I woke up with Alice...in Wonderland somewhere! ^_^

The only good thing is that I woke up to a sale in my Wuglyees shop!...

I sold one of my crocheted 'sack' hats!...the white one.

That was a good thing...even for a second time waking up! ^_^ ... Now I'm off to put my 'green', queasy, sleepy self to some kind of good. And Oh Yeah, I "do" have stuff to do!!!! As a matter of fact I'd better write it down before I forget some of it!...Where's my green pencil?! ^_^

Now let me see...is there any need for a poem today?! ^_^ If there is one below, you'll know the answer! LOL Have a good day, Everybody!

No Need For A Poem

There's no need for a poem
about the love that we both share.
No pretty words about our life,
our great affection, loving care.

No need for poetry of how
I've loved him since I was a kid.
No, there's no need for such a poem,
but I guess that I just did!
