      Okay! I said I would be back...and here I is!! LOL I finished my sunshine yellow artsy crochet hat...below...but first I wanna show you the two other hats I saw in VendulkaM's etsy shop! They totally pushed my 'CUTE!' meter off the radar!! ^_^

      The above crochet hat has ruffles, colors, buttons, and bows! What's not to love!!! ♥

        And this one (above) has a slouch to it, and a colorful flower-like brooch!!! :-) I'm telling you...these are the cutest crochet hats ever!! ^_^ I only wish I had thought of the design myself!!

      Speaking of thinking of the design myself though....I did think up this design (below)!!...

      I'm afraid my photography hasn't gotten any more creative though! LOL And the icy darkness of today's Holyoke Massachsetts sky isn't helping!! ^_^
 

      Oh Well, I did the best I could, and that will have to be enough today!!

      The rain steadily falling on our Kingdom Hall parking lot today, with temps below freezing turning the whole thing into a skating rink, caused our meeting to be shortened even!! In the interest of safety, I think it was a wise decision!
      It caused a detour away from the grocery store too. Hubby needed some flour to make his cube steak....BUT he couldn't go. Creativity to the rescue again! ^_^ We had corn meal! ^_^ ....In a few minutes I'll find out if that was a good substitute or not!! LOL
      Anyway!...It was a good weather day for crocheting!...and hopefully {I'll find out in a couple of hours! ^_^} a good day for football! ^_^ The New England Patriots are playing the Indianapolis Colts! :-) ... By the way, the Australian Open tennis tournament starts tonight too {Uhhhh...today, if you live in Australia!! :-)} Oh Yeah! It's gonna be a good couple of weeks upcoming for me!!!!! ^_^

Is Your Saturday Looking Like This Too?!

      So...what is YOUR Saturday looking like?! Just wondering! ^_^ Oh...you're wondering what MY Saturday is looking like?!...I thought so!! LOL That's why I'm here to tell you all about it! ^_^
       My Saturday looks like beef! ^_^...
 

      ...beef that's been marinated overnight in all kinds of acidic juices, oils, and curry!... :-) ...and then slowly sauteed to a delicious mouth-watering tenderness! YUM! Next Stop?!...I don't know. Maybe a big salad, or a sauce to mix it with and put over rice or egg noodles! Decisions, decisions! ^_^ ...

      This made my Saturday smell pretty good too! Just saying! ^_^

      My Saturday also looks like fútbol!...or should I say: SOCCER, Baby!! :-)) There have been some very good games over the last couple of weeks! And the game today was the best so far! The one I watched the most of was Columbia versus Uruguay. It ended with a 'kick off'......Well, that's what 'I' called it! :-)) {I'm not completely up on the soccer jargon yet.} ^_^
      But anyway, it's where, during an overtime tie, both teams have one guy at a time, up to five in all...kick a ball past the goalie to see who scores. The team with the most points, preferably five!...wins the game! :-) ...It only took three points today for Columbia to win! :-) Congratulations Columbia!! ^_^
 

 (FIFA World Cup)

      My Saturday also looked like tennis!...Wimbledon! :-) Even though it rained almost all day, there were still matches under the roof on center court! :-) {That expensive investment is paying off!!}...Roger Federer won his match, and so did Maria Sharapova!

      It didn't go as well today for Serena Williams...the world number one. Her match with Alize Cornet started in one of the outside courts, and then was interrupted with rain for about five hours!!! O_O Unfortunately for Serena, Cornet wasn't stymied by the rain. She just continued her 'beat-down' of Serena!! O_O ... 

 (Wimbledon)

      This is the first time, I think they said, that Serena didn't get to the finals of Wimbledon since 2007!! O_O Oh well, Cornet will have to take up the slack I guess! :-] But since Maria Sharapova will be waiting for her down the line, I won't 'count my chickens before they hatch' regarding Cornet's Wimbledon championship win! :-)) She'll definitely have to work for it, that being the case!

      Okay....there's one more thing my Saturday is looking like! :-) It's looking like fresh fruit...kiwi and strawberries...whipped cream and pound cake! :-) ...

      I spared you having to look at the whipped cream. ^_^ I figure some things should just be left to the imagination...YOURS, not mine!! :-)) I'm looking at whipped cream...and tasting whipped cream...YUM!...right now!! ^_^ Oh Yeah! This is a good-looking Saturday!!...I hope yours is too!! ♥

      *twiddling my thumbs*...♫ hmmmmmm hmmmmmmm ♫ ...You know what this means, right?!...Uhhhh...there's nothing new going on. ^_^ So I'm just popping in to say "Hi!"...and to show you a couple of cute things I saw on Etsy this morning....Starting with the cute blanket in the header photo! :-)

      I saw it and thought how cute it would be to have people coming by to visit your new little one, and have 'little Johnny'...ummmm...'TALK' to them from the crib! LOL Well...sorta, kinda talk to them. You know...just say: 'Hi!' ^_^

      Considering the fact that I've never had any children myself, I'm really fascinated by baby items, aren't I?! ^_^ I think it's because I've walked, burped, sang to, and rocked a lot of babies in my life! And my relatives and friends were very thankful! LOL Especially one particular friend who had twin boys who were restless, non-sleeping, cryers! YIKES! But for some reason when she gave them to me...one in each arm, like little footballs nuzzled up under my chin :-)...and I rocked and hummed to them...THEY STOPPED CRYING IMMEDIATELY!! O_O More than that...they went RIGHT TO SLEEP!! ^_^ 

      I remember one particular night...it was late...when she came over to our house with the twins all bundled up in their little coats and hats...screaming at the top of their lungs!!...while she was sobbing uncontrollably! O_O She had been up for hours trying to quiet them, and they were having none of it!!...I was half asleep, but I went into my 'baby whisperer' mode...and withing 20 minutes everybody was asleep!! ^_^ Including their mom!! LOL It became a true 'sleep-over'...literally!! ^_^

      Anyway!...on to another cute etsy item! :-) ...

      Oh, the fun conversations you could have over green tea, coffee, or cocoa, in these fun  cups!!! :-] And, of course, there would have to be some sweet biscuits or something somewhere!!!

Hail......Noooooo!!!

      I'll start this post by telling you that all of the photos you'll be seeing can be found on WWLP (dot) com's website HERE. They're the photos taken by people all over western Massachusetts after the severe thunderstorm that came through over the weekend.
        I have to admit that when they said we were going to get a short thunderstorm in the late afternoon...I didn't even give it much thought. But all of a sudden Sunday afternoon it got dark...Really dark! And then it started pouring rain! And then...
 

     ...HAIL!!! O_O
 

      The balls of ice started pelting our windows so hard that we thought somebody was throwing something at the windows!...We hadn't heard anything about hail! O_O Funny how the weather people left that 'little' detail out!!...We thought it was just gonna be a familiar thunderstorm. You know...with rain, darkness, and a few lightening strikes! But nooooooooo!

     I was thankful that my hummingbirds were apparently alerted, because I sure didn't want to be subjected to seeing my little 'babies' flitting back and forth, dodging ice pellets!! O_O That would've been terrible!!...We've had quite enough 'near-misses' this week!!
     If you look at all of the photos above it seems as if we were captured in our homes with this storm! But the truth is...it went by sooooooo quick! In fact, hubby tried to get outside to the hailstones right after the storm, so that I could get some photos of them up close for the blog...but they had melted by the time he got to them!! :-) It was still very warm outside.
    About an hour or two after the storm the only semblance that we had even had a thunderstorm was these photos!...Good Job, quick picture takers!! :-) ... My hummingbirds have been back to business as usual ever since then! They're keeping hubby busier than usual making nectar for them. He has to change the feeder twice a week...at least!
      Okay...no more hail photos for at least a year! ^_^ I'm sticking to flowers and other goodies...See you with some of that tomorrow maybe! Right now my stomach is singing to me again! :-) Have a good day, Everybody!

"Rooster...Rooster!! What Time Is It?!"

       I am up VERY early this morning!....VERY!...There's no sense in me telling you exactly what time it is, because with bloggers in all kinds of time zones, it probably won't matter anyway! But let me just say...no rooster ANYWHERE has even 'thought' about getting up to crow at this 'unnatural-to-man' hour!! LOL
     It's so early that even if I wanted a cup of coffee...I couldn't get it at one of the early morning coffee houses! ^_^ So I guess...for me...it'll be 'talkie before coffee'!! :-] ... What's going on is that my hubby's new job is batting my schedule around a bit...Not that it's a bad schedule. Just a different one!
     I'm finding that to have a somewhat smooth running household now, I'm having to change the times I do certain things....and I'm having a bit of a hard time adjusting. I'm sure it'll work itself out eventually. It always does! This isn't the first job either of us has started over the last 50 years.
      YIKES!! O_O We're starting a new job schedule at 'over 50' now!! O_O ... YEAH! That could be the 'real' problem!! LOL Our 'get-up-and-go' has 'got-up-and-went'!! You know, bodies don't like to be pushed around as much when they get over 50! ^_^ They like to take time to 'warm up' to new times and situations. They like to 'mosey' a bit, not shoot out of the gate like a prize running stallion! LOL ... Oooo! Just the thought of my body having to move that fast in the morning makes me wanna take a nap!! ^_^
      ANYWAY!!...So I'm up, thinking about coffee...and sugar and cream...Speaking of which, aren't the spoon in the header, and these cream and sugar sets below, cute!!...

      It's too early in the morning for me to talk about anything but how early it is....Sorry!...I can't take any pictures of anything. It's too dark! ^_^ I can't even have an interesting conversation with hubby...He's still not completely awake yet! LOL Besides...I don't want to talk to him right now. He'll only wanna talk about how excited he is about his new job, and I'm not that excited about it!...At least not yet! I need another couple of weeks or so to get used to the schedule...and re-schedule my nap time! LOL

      Have any of you ever had a time where your spouse was excited about something you just couldn't get as excited about....but you didn't wanna burst their little excited happy bubble?! ^_^ That's where I am. So I grin when he talks about his new clients...while I think of how big of a pin it would take to burst that happy bubble all to pieces!!! LOL...But I won't. Who knows, next week I may be telling you all about his new clients...and you may wanna burst my happy bubble!! ^_^

     I was considering becoming an LPN or an RN myself, at one time in my life. Instead I remained a nurse's aide. I took all of the schooling for it...well, maybe not ALL of it! :-) ...but when I had to make a real choice, after working as an aide for a couple of years, I decided to remain an aide.
        It was kind of a personal choice because I saw that the RNs and LPNs weren't working with the patients as much as they were giving pills and doing paperwork! In fact, I thought it was kinda sad that there were some patients on the floor that they never got to see some days...because they didn't get medication. :-( 
       It's a tough job...probably even more so these days! I KNOW things have changed a lot since I left nursing. We were only allowed to wear white...including pantyhose! And the only jewelry we could wear was a wedding band, a watch, and post-type earrings!!...I've seen nurses....Ooooo! Whee!!!!....I won't talk about it!!...And hey! We didn't need face masks and gloves up to the shoulders back when I was in nursing! So I respect the hard work they do!!
    By the way, why am I up at this hour, talking about nursing?! ^_^ I should be nursing a bowl of oatmeal and a cup of coffee!!! ^_^ Or going back to sleep!!...I'll tell you which one I chose tomorrow! LOL...Where is that rooster?!....Have a good day, Everybody! :-)

Hula Chicks...But Not In My Yard.

    I thought I'd start the post with a little bit more of the Fall/Autumn color from our yard. :-) And while I know they're not, when I saw this photo I thought these flowers looked like strawberries and kiwi! ^_^ Can you tell where my mind is already this morning?!....Yep! Hungry! And I woke up like that. I actually have a growling hungry tummy!! 
     I'm gonna put something in it as soon as I can, but first I wanted to share a couple of cute things I ran across while doing some updates in my Wuglyees shop...No, they weren't "in" my shop! lol But the activity feed number kept going up and up and up.....and....okay! I got nosey!! :-) 
      When I clicked over there I saw dancing hula chicks! :-) ...

     After I saw these two cute things I dragged myself back to my shop...before I totally forgot what I was doing. A constant occurrence these days!...besides napping, which is also a constant occurrence. ^_^

     While I'm still awake, I wanna share a few more yard photos with you. With 'the season of pops of color' upon us, hubby is enjoying roaming around the yard :-]

        *sigh*...What will I do when all of this 'pretty' is covered with 'the white stuff'?!...
