I Think It Is!...I Think It Is!!!

And just like that...YAY!!!...the real Spring is here! ^_^ How do I know?!...Well, those aren't pork chops, or the 'white stuff', hanging off the end of those branches!! LOL They're a new growth of leaves...soon to be flowers! :-) ...

We've been waiting, and waiting, and waiting!! And finally the lawn is lush and green, the leaves are quickly sprouting on the tree branches, and.....I said: "AND"!... :-) ...And is that a hummingbird I see?!...

https://www.etsy.com/listing/186941056/bird-cage-globe-sphere-round-birdcage?ref=favs_view_7

No! Not in the cage!! LOL...although it's a beautiful cage! ^_^ No!...I see the hummingbird...or should I say: 'saw' the hummingbird!...fly by the window a few minutes ago!! :-) He's so quick!!..."Sorry Mr. Hummingbird. Hubby is not as quick as you!" ^_^
If you look close in the above backyard tree photos you'll see that the wintertime suet bird feeder is still hanging there! ^_^ Not for long though. The hummingbird's 'buzzing the window' is a clear indication that it's time for hubby to 'get-to-making' some hummingbird nectar!! :-)
He won't be making the nectar today though. We're due to get rain here tomorrow. So he's gonna wait a couple days, instead of encouraging the sweet birdies to come out into the rain with their 'humming-umberellas'. :-))

*deep breath*....*cough! cough!*...Yeah, it's that time again too!...Allergy season. Ugh! I've been sneezing, dripping, and wheezing a bit, for a few days. In the morning my first vocalizations sound like a 'scratchy-throated' Barry White!! :-)) ... ♫ "...The first, my last, my everything..." ♫ ^_^

It's also time...I hope, I hope, I hope!...for pre-planning brides and grooms to start searching for new wedding ideas! :-) Reception venues, dresses, tuxedos, shoes, flower bouquets, clutch purses,...

...and...uhhh...boutonnieres, lapel pins, etc...???! ^_^ Wuglyees has LOTS of the last two things!! And some shawls and crochet necklaces 'to boot'! LOL Come on by and check them out yourself....PLEASE! :-)

Okay...two more cute items to share and then I'm gonna take my Barry White singing self outta here! ^_^ ...

Its The Beat

The syncopated rhythm
of the tapping of your feet,
and the snapping of your fingers
to the systematic beat
make the music that you're  hearing
(that you think is kinda neat)
motivate your body's  swaying,
and you have to leave your seat;
Now you're dancing back and forth,
and causing rising body heat.
And it's all from a beat-
Yes, a syncopated beat!

Sometimes You Just Have To Rediscover The Music!

Talking about music....this (header photo) is one of my hubby's sweet 'babies' in the backyard that have him singing for joy! :-) It's one of his new hollyhocks that's growing in the backyard. Now he knows what it is! ^_^ It was a mystery there for a while...

They haven't completely opened yet, but they almost have their 'land legs' and they're making hubby sing! ^_^

Or is it the music channels on the upper end of the TV dial, that hubby and I have rediscovered lately, that have him singing like that?! ^_^ ...If you don't have cable television you probably don't know what I'm talking about...Along with the other 700 channels you can look at nowadays.....I mean WOW!...there, somewhere in the 500s, is channel after channel of music.
You can just turn to the channel and it will play song after song in that particular category all day long!...: A hit list of songs...Hip-Hop and R&B...R&B Classics (one of my favorites)...Dance/Electronic...Throwback Jamz...Reggae...Classic Rock...Retro Rock...regular Rock...Soft Rock (one of hubby's and my favorites)...Pop Hits...'90s...'80s...'70s (another favorite of ours)...Solid Gold Oldies...Stage and Screen...Kidz Only...Toddler tunes...Today's Country(Yep!)...true Country(Yep, yep! ^_^)...Smooth Jazz (this is hubby's favorite)...Blues...Easy Listening (We put this one on a timer at night now, to go to sleep by ^_^)...Classical Masterpieces...Musica Urbana...pop Latino...etc.......I could be here naming the channels all day!!! :-]

WOW! We are just amazed at how much music our brains have registered....and stored over the years! We know at least some of the words to almost every song that comes on!!!! O_O ...Or we know exactly how the beat or melody goes!...Who knew we were even paying that close attention back when these songs were being played on the radio, or being played up and down the aisles in the grocery store! ^_^
Some of them make us 'Smile'...

Some of them remind us of where we were when we heard them, or what we were doing at the time...

Some of them are reminders of our childhood...

Oh! We love music!....and we love that we get to sing the songs,  and go down memory road, any time we want, by just turning to a TV channel.....again. ^_^ ...Or, if we wanna see the videos, scoot on over to Youtube!! :-)
I hope this post reminds you of some good music you've been missing...and you didn't know you had! ^_^ Have a good day, Everybody! :-)

Things Come Up In The Most Unexpected Places...And Ways!

I know it's not a great photo. Hubby used the zoom on the camera so he could take the picture from the window near the house. It's a tulip that's growing out of nowhere!...But here's the thing....hubby didn't plant it!...

Pretty cool, huh?! :-) ... It's popping up just in time for the 90 something temperature we're suppose to be getting today! O_O My air conditioner is already on.....ready! ^_^ Thankfully it's not suppose to be a heat wave or anything. It's just a one-day event they say...Hey! At least it's not a tornado or golf ball hail! O_O ...Oh, Those poor people in the middle of the country!
We don't have hail...rain....or even wind...in our area right now...

In fact, this was the view outside my window into the backyard yesterday (below)...

The calm before the storm....without a storm :-)

Just me here, looking out into the backyard...singing 'Stuttering'...Yep!...*shaking my head*...I'm still singing it!...I can't stop singing it! UGH!...It's stuck in my head like a bad loop! It keeps playing over and over again, with me attempting to get the words right!...*shaking my head...again!*
And who am I singing to?!....You guessed it! ^_^ And he was a captured audience too! We were playing Scrabble. He had to sit there...try to think about big words....and listen to me sing ♫ 'Stu-stu-stu-stuttering'! ♫ LOL Hopefully, now that I've sung it about a cabillion times, it'll LEAVE-ME-ALONE!!!!! ^_^

The other thing I did yesterday...what a nice weekend! (except for the phone call. O_O)...was crochet! I made a few brooches, just using up some extra yarn...

I hid the little bit of gray I had left in the center bud...*giggle*...

And this one (below) is made from the little bit of sparkly yarn I had left...

I also did some 'serious' crocheting! :-) I made a few necklaces. Tiny ones...

It may not look like much, but these tiny 'babies' are W-O-R-K!!!...

They're pretty when they're done!.....But they're really hard on my 'old lady' eyes and fingers!...

This one (below) is a little bit larger, but not much!...

I didn't put a button on this one.....at least not yet. Do you think it needs one?...I'm still debating on it.

I'm making them to sell for the summer.....along with the key chains, which I still can't get my self motivated to refashion yet. ^_^ ...but I will!...I'm sure the will to do it is gonna come up at the most unexpected time...not now! LOL
       Okay.....I'm off to get my week started. We have a repairman coming today, to fix a leaky sink. And hubby and I are gonna do some studying at some point too. Something! ^_^ Have a good day, Everybody! :-) {I know you've seen this poem a few times, but if I have to have a song going over and over in my head.....you can read one over and over, right?! ^_^}

And secondly, it's a post just for those of you who, like me this morning, may need some bouncy music to get you started. It's Monday!!! The week day ride begins!!!! :-) {My regular post will follow}

Motown Music To Soothe The Wug!

Today, I'm pulling out "the big guns", so to speak!...It's been a rough few days between my hormones, "my friend", that's not a FRIEND at all!! {You know what I mean ladies}, and this heat wave! And if that's not bad enough, now I have to keep on the lookout for "Hurricane Earl"!!! UGH!
Tennis is taking my attention quite a bit, but I NEED MUSIC!!! And not just any old music is going to do. I need Motown!! But before I share that with you, let me share a couple of other things. First, "Woohoo!" It's time for the September calendar that we get free from LittleFoxPhotos!!! It's FREE on her Nature and Wildlife Photography Blog! I got mine! (That's what the header picture is today!)
You CAN leave her a small donation if you like, but it's not required...It's so pretty, isn't it?! It reminds me of long backroads in my home birth state of Georgia. *deep breath*
And if that wasn't good enough news for me, I got some more! I was put in another Etsy Treasury! This time it was curated by Monika of MonikaDesign, the best crochet coaster maker ever!!! This is a photo of her "Crochet Pear Coasters-red set of 4"...
This is the Treasury she curated, entitled "I'm Ready For Fall"...
As usual, I'll give you the links to the other great artisans and creators I shared this Treasury with.

If you're needing a good gift idea for a friend, you can't go wrong with any of these shops! It was my pleasure to share their company in this Fall inspired Treasury.
Okay, back to my MUSIC!! I grew up as a child in a part of the United States where musicians were like air! In fact, music was so plentiful when I was a kid that I still have great songs in my head that never got to the public...or at least, I never saw them in record form! I even met a couple of the old Motown singers in person! One, James Brown, was from the town next door to mine, Augusta Georgia. And William Bell visited our house one time. Of course, I was too little at the time to appreciate who he was. I do remember my mom making me sing for him. (I don't remember what the song was now). He made a joke with her about wanting to take me out on the road with him. *Teehee* Of course my mother went along with it, carrying on about how she couldn't stand to be without me. DON'T GET ME STARTED ABOUT THAT SUBJECT!!! Moving on.....!
Whenever I have ever really needed a pick-me-up music would do it! Stevie Wonder...
...was a particular favorite. But so were Gladys Knight and the Pips, The Jackson Five, Otis Redding, The Chi-Lites, The Temptations, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Tina Turner, Marvin Gaye,...
...Lou Rowls, Wilson Pickett, The Four Tops, Fats Domino, Aretha Franklin, The Isley Brothers, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Tammy Terrell, Martha and the Vandellas, Ben E. King, Ray Charles,...
     ...and many, many, more!
I'm in the mood for Motown....and that's what I'm going to do today, listen to Motown!! And I'm prepared too! I bought this collection a Loooooooong time ago and have just about worn it out!!!
But it's going to get worn out just a little bit more today!!! Hurricane Earl has me "Uptight"! I think the best musical place for me to start then, is with ♫ "Uptight" by Stevie Wonder! Don't you want to boogie with me?! ♫  ^_^

Updating This Wuglyees Life!

LittleFoxPhotos August calendar has this beautiful picture of a road cutting through the mountains in Norway. It's FREE too! Just click on the link, go to her beautiful Nature and Wildlife blog, and download this beautiful calendar for your own desktop! She does this every month and I think it's just great! THANK YOU Little Fox!
It's a perfect reminder for me today too, that I need to update some things that have been going on in my Wuglyees life. First, remember my car that was in the tag sale accident? The one that used to look like this...
    ...but now looks like this?!
Well, bad news. The lady that hit our 'baby' was not driving her own car. She had borrowed the car from a friend. And the lady who owned the car had just changed her insurance 4 days prior to the accident, and it's the SAME insurer that we have!! Long story short, they're now saying that our 'baby' is too old to fix! The damage done, even though it's still perfectly fine to drive (it just looks...ummmm...'jacked up!'), is going to cost more than the car is worth...according to them. So, they have declared it a "total loss". The insurer called and wanted me to take everything of ours out of the car, so that they could come and pick it up!!
"What?!!" I said: "Uh! We're not giving up our 'baby' just because it has a dink!!" She said: "Well, we're only prepared to pay you $900.00 then, for the repair, minus your $100.00 deductible." I said: "How much would you pay me if you total the car out and take it?" She said: "$1,062. The value of the car."...I really had to take a deep breath on that one!!! SO FRUSTRATING!!!!...So, we're keeping our 'baby' and the $900.00 and trying to think nice thoughts about insurance companies...and insurance adjusters...and car repair shops!!...Moving on!
I just wanted to quickly update you about the shooting that took place in Manchester Connecticut a few days ago, that was at the company where our friend works. Our friend was not hurt! There will be a LOT of people taking some time to emotionally get over this though! Including my hubby, who is hearing details of people's stories, people who were there when the shooting happened. (One man was in the bathroom when he heard the gunshots!)
A good update is about my scarf, or should I say scarves!! Remember the black and white scarf I finished the other day? The A-Symmetrical one, with the 2 patches of black and white patterning on one side,...
...and totally black on the other?!
I told you that I was going to work on another scarf, and that I was going to get away from the black and white, right?!...Well, guess what? I didn't get away from the black and white!! LOL I saw that I didn't have that much black yarn left and I didn't just want to throw it in a bag and forget about it. You know how I like to recycle things and make 'Wuglyee' scarves from the leftover yarn. Well, "Ta-Dah!!!!"
This is made from the remaining remnants of my first black and white scarf! And the funny thing is...it's made with such clean SYMMETRICAL lines! Now when you see the two scarves next to each other this one...
...looks like the one made first!!! Hubby loves this one! He says it's a great scarf for the men's section of my shop. Do you agree?! (I thought it looked like a girl's scarf myself!)
The only other update I have is about my friend who came from out of state the other week and had a "Girl's Day" with me that I blogged about. She was also the one that was wearing the necklace that she bought from my shop.
Well, I received the sweetest letter from her yesterday! She's back home and enjoying nice memories of our day together...And so am I!
Okay, almost all of the updates all done! All that's left to do is update the rhythm of my blog with a poem for you!
