RANDOM THOUGHTS!

      A post about random thoughts is well served by a header photo of a beautifully colored abstract art painting...don't you think?! ^_^ And just for 'kicks', what do you see when you look at it?!....Me?!....I see a grasshopper lounging by the beach in a canvas lounge chair, smiling, while holding a crutch in his left hand, and a soup ladle in his right! ^_^ ...Purely random! LOL

      That's the kind of day I'm having...nothing in my head is organized and pretty. It's all jumbled and resistant to control. But yet...it's very calm. :-] The perfect place for random thoughts to breathe and keep themselves comfortable. :-))

      Speaking of random thoughts ^_^ did I tell you about the menagerie of animals that have been wandering through our backyard this past week?!...rabbits and cats, robins and all kinds of birds...including...and this is the honest truth!...a large eagle that landed on top of one of the robins that was scratching for worms, held him in his talons until he went limp, and then toted him off!! O_O

      The next day a mangy-looking coyote trotted through the backyard, with his fur all choppy, like somebody like Edward Scissorhands had gotten a hold of him...in a bad way! He was also missing part of his tail!!! O_O Hubby was fascinated until he noticed that the coyote was stalking one of the neighborhood feral cats!! *gulp!* We stopped looking!!!!...And I don't even wanna know what happened to the cat!!

      Yesterday, as if he was going for a little trot in the outback somewhere, a red fox...with a white-tipped tail...came trotting through the backyard!!! O_O He was kind of skittish though. He went one direction, stopped cold, looked around, and then went back the same direction he came from!
      Today the only traffic through the backyard has been a mommy with her little toddler, dressed like a pink dinosaur, with a tail no less! ^_^ It's that time of year, people!!! *smh* All due respect to people and their beliefs, but seriously?!!!! LOL

      I'm crocheting another hooded scarf/wrap! :-] ...
 

      It's with Red Heart yarn. The color is "buff"...hmmmm...it looks like beige to me! ^_^ ...SIDE THOUGHT: How do you count your rows when you're working a knit or crochet pattern?!...Do you have a row counter gadget, memorize it in your head, or write the numbers down on a piece of paper and scratch them out as you go...like I do?!...Just wondering. ^_^

      Guess what I had for lunch today...THANKS HONEY!! :-) ♥ ...Fried pork chops, lima beans, and a red baked potato!! ^_^ The only thing missing was some chocolate cake and a hot cup of pumpkin spiced coffee!!!...To Be Continued!! ^_^

     I love that tennis has been on The Tennis Channel all day today...LIVE!! :-) And that I've seen almost all of my favorite men play!...Lopez, Nishikori, Wawrinka, Tsonga, Murray, and now Roger Federer!! :-) It's a good tennis day!

     In closing...tonight is meeting night! :-) And it's Oral Review night! :-) I love going back and reviewing the things we've learned recently. Such good reminders about how our relationship with Jehovah God should be, and how we need to be behaving toward other people as well!! Oh, if only the whole world took the time to learn about what's required to be a "true" citizen of the world!...and then actually practiced it!!
      Okay...off I go. Random thoughts?...DONE!...for today! ^_^ Have a good rest of the day, Everyone! ♥

 "Random  Words"

I wrote to "Random House".
I'm  putting it all out on the line;
Letting strangers tell me what they think,
and critique my chatty mind.

Its been 2 weeks already,
and not a word have I heard back.
Is this unusual?
Can someone else, your poems, hijack?!

I tell myself: "Don't Worry.
In fact, no news can mean good news."
(Its the way I try to fool myself,
so my ego won't  get bruised.)

When I wrote them I was honest.
I didn't  try to play some game.
I want to make some extra money,
not pursue book deals and fame.

So, I wrote to "Random House",
and put it all out on the line.
Now I wait to hear from strangers,
and please, please, let them be kind!

Too Much 'Virtual' Dating Fun, And Now?...RANDOM THOUGHTS!

      Just like the pretty chairs in my header photo, my thoughts today are all on top of one another, side-by-side of one another, and topsy-turvy! I guess it must've been too much 'virtual' fun on my date with hubby last night! ^_^

       We took some fun excursions to a few historic places last night. We saw some southern scenery, some northern dinosaur tracks, and heard some great stories about how life used to be years and years ago! :-] It was fascinating!

      And yes, we saw some beautiful scenry, listened to some great music, and ate some good food 'to boot'! ^_^ ... But now we're home...and tired...and looking at a Saturday 'To-Do' list 'yaaaaay' long!! O_O Besides the fact that....unfortunately for my hubby...I'm in the mood to talk!! LOL 

      Does that happen to any of you when you're really tired?!...that you wanna talk and talk about random, sometimes nonsensical, stuff?!...Well, it does to me! And it's happening right now!! ^_^ I'm sipping on a cup of green tea, typing, AND talking to hubby about all manner of silly stuff!! LOL

      He's 'chicken-sitting' again this weekend, so he's in the mood for the silliness! LOL He's talking about how the chickens know him now when he goes over to feed and water them and steal....uhhhh...carry away their eggs. :-] While I'm talking about dinosaur footprints here in Holyoke, and where all of the locations for them are!...Randomness. Just plain randomness!!

      Here are some other things we've talked about since last night:

      -- Why are there so many birds all over the backyard all of a sudden?! O_O And where did my hummingbirds go?!...There were four FAT birds...I don't know what kind of birds they were...sitting side-by-side on a tree branch, down low. Just sitting there, looking around...like they were waiting for someone to serve them dinner or something! O_O They were there for quite a while, and then...they just flew away!

      -- Why is the washing machine attacking my clothes and sheets?!...All of my sheets are coming outta there with holes and rips all over the place, and my night gowns now have holes and lace that is completely separated at the seams! Ugh! And do you know how hard it is to re-sew lace back onto a night gown?!!!!

      -- My green tea doesn't taste the same anymore! O_O It's so strong all of a sudden!

      -- I can smell everything nowadays! O_O I don't remember stopping from being able to smell things. But all of a sudden I'm noticing the smell of everything!! And most of it doesn't smell good either!! LOL Was my 'smeller' on the blink, and I didn't know it?!

      -- Stash?!.....What stash?! O_O I think all of my salt water taffy is all gone! *blink, blink*

      -- Elvis Presley movies....That is all. :-)

      -- Why would a grown man saute' chicken in seven day old vegetable oil when he just went out of his way to go to the store and buy BRAND NEW olive oil?!! O_O It's one of the great mysteries of Jeff-World! LOL...And the sad thing is that he doesn't know either!! ^_^

      -- We have the best friends EVER!!!! :-) A girlfriend just dropped off a pack of steak, some cut french fries, salad, and a pineapple pound cake!!!!!! :-) No. There was no occasion or any particular reason! Just love!! ♥♥♥

     -- What are we gonna do for our wedding anniversary...which is in a few days?! O_O We have no plans!!!...I guess that's what love does when you're 32 years in! :-)) Apparently we only get excited about celebrating and 'boogieing-it-up' on round number years!...{And yes, we also had a conversation about what technically is a 'round number'! LOL}...In three years...on our 35th....WATCH OUT!!!...That is, if we're still able to chew and stuff! LOL

      -- I'm really tired......Let's have some breakfast and go back to bed. *yawn*

A Little Doze'll Do You!

I enjoy my sleeping, and a doze,
a nap, and such.
In fact I might enjoy a snooze
entirely waay too much!

At any time of day,
you'll find me like a weeping willow.
Head hung low and dragging,
looking for the nearest pillow.

No, there's nothing wrong.
I'm not depressed. I've still got bounce!
And I can stay awake and be
quite witty when it counts!

But I have been awake for things
when I could've been asleep.
And now my time's so valuable
I don't treat it like it's cheap.

My sleeping, dozing, napping,
is to my life a special key.
It unlocks and refreshes
and dispels anxiety!

Most people try to fill up
every hour in the day.
But me, I'd rather be asleep
and waste it all away.

There's plenty hours left
for all the flit and play and chore.
An hour for a nap right now?!
Why not?! There's 24!!

Random Early Morning Thoughts!

  
      -- It's 3:08 a.m. Waaaaaay too early for me to be up!! O_O I should be sound asleep, dreaming of fighting off underwater sharks in the Caribbean or something!! ^_^

      -- There must be some psychological reason that my husband sleeps curled up in a ball, with his head half in his chest, and half stuffed in a pillow...A pillow, I might add, that he has dragged down to the middle of the bed...so that his feet are hanging over the end of the bed!! O_O ... Maybe I'm just jealous that he's asleep right now!...Ya think?!!!! Ha! Ha!

      -- Great!! O_O The only non-infomercial, non-crazy, thing on television...and which is on almost every channel!...is updates about tropical storm Arthur...which is about to be upgraded to hurricane status!...and is heading up the coast toward us!! O_O Maybe it's a good thing I'm up though, right?!...I can be sitting here staring at the weather channel trying not to panic...instead of being somewhere singing Motown tunes to a small cafe full of people who are hanging on my every note! O_O Ugh!....Come on sleep!!!

      -- What did I do with my saltwater taffy?! O_O I put it somewhere so that I wouldn't be randomly eating it...but now I don't know where that 'somewhere' is! O_O Oh well, it's probably a good thing. I can't sleep, and I don't think loading myself up with sugar is gonna help my present mental disposition, do you?! ^_^

      -- Why am I not doing something productive with my time, like crocheting?!...I started another fancy shawl, and stopped right at the 'change-the-color' section. I don't know if I want my contrasting strip to be white, black, a deeper shade of the blue that I'm using, or some wild variegated color! O_O I may just go with white. That way it could be a bride's shawl, to cover a white wedding dress! :-) ... Yes! I do think about things just like that...all. the. time!!

      -- Why is it that my bladder seems to be as fickle as my mind is sometimes! O_O It seems to like to sit quiet for hours in the late afternoon, but in the early morning it wants to be as noisy and uncomfortable as it can be!...and pushy too, every fifteen to twenty minutes too!!! ^_^

      -- What is wrong with the fingernail on my middle finger?! O_O It's growing longer and faster than my other fingernails!...and, when it gets a certain length, one side droops and starts to grow in a curl!! O_O I keep trying to straighten it, but it's determined to be a 'Gumby-nail'!! LOL

      -- It's hair washing day again...but I'm wrestling with why I would wash my hair today, when there's a hurricane heading toward us! O_O ... Okay, let's face it. I'd use any excuse to put off hair washing day ONE MORE DAY!! LOL What's wrong with being a 'mop-head'?!

      -- Oops! O_O The alarm just went off!...It's 5:00 a.m. Time to take my pill and drink my water, do my exercises, etc.... Ugh!...It's gonna be a long day!! O_O

      When I wake up again I'm gonna do another post though. I found something 'neat' on Etsy that I wanted to show you! :-) Until then.......!

Describe The Sky

Evoking awe and bouts of wonder.
Such inspiration, you just want to cry.
With birds high-flying, and winds a blowing,
what words would you use to describe the sky?

Would you say, whether clouds are upon it,
that it blankets a wondrous space?
Or would you be more awed and humbled,
hoping there you would find God's face?

I would say that when standing quiet,
looking up at the sun or moon,
there's a feeling of peaceful oneness
that I hope won't go away too soon.

Evoking bouts of awe and wonder
was probably what it was designed to do;
That is, besides giving off light and weather,
and the most spectacular view!
