Chunky...Crochet Flowers And Everything!!
It's Sunday morning, and instead of sitting with a big plate of pancakes, dripping with maple syrup, in front of me...I'm sitting quiet with some crochet thread and my number 8 crochet hook!
I just finished this big (3 and 1/4 inch) crochet flower brooch, and I'm about to start another white wedding shawl...but a different style this time.
I'm sitting quiet because I'm exhausted!...*deep breath*...I had a very rough night! It started...around 2 a.m. or so...with a very bad dull pain in my lower belly. It felt like I was waaaaay too full and my stomach was trying to find some place to expand so that it could hold it all!...And no! I didn't have a large meal before bed. In fact, I didn't eat dinner because I was feeling this fullness from earlier in the day!
Cut to...a feeling of nausea, me throwing off my C-Pap mask, grabbing a big bucket, and.....*blink, blink*...I'll let you fill in the acid-y, chunky, rest!! LOL And you can fill it in three...count 'em...THREE...times...with small resting periods in between!!! O_O NOT FUN!!!
I don't know what happened! O_O It could've been an allergic reaction to something, or the seafood salad I had earlier, for lunch, or the cow that went over the moon!! ^_^ But whatever it was, my stomach still hasn't fully recovered! O_O I'm sipping on soup and green tea for now...NO PANCAKES...too chunky! LOL
For the rest of the day I can be found in my bed, napping...occasionally!...with a crochet hook...occasionally!...and fingering some pretty white cotton thread, and a cup or glass of some clear liquid or the other. NOT ORANGE JUICE!...too acid-y!! LOL
Let me give a 'Big Shout Out' to my hubby, who is now out in the ministry, getting a jump on some extended hours he volunteered for August! ♥ I love that he has time and energy left to try to help other people in the ministry too...after a night of only mini naps, in between his job of bucket holder and brow wiper. :-] I give him a hard time sometimes, but I'm very thankful I'm married to him and not 'Yosemite Sam' or the 'Tasmanian Devil' or somebody!! Ha! Ha!...Uhhhhh...what am I talking about?!...*sniffle*...I DON'T KNOW!!! ^_^ Ignore...and carry on with your Sunday, Everybody!! :-))
Sitting Quiet
I love just sitting quiet,
letting silence be my friend.
I'm not afraid to be alone,
and hear my breathing out and in.
With no T.V. on, or music,
just some thinking done, with me,
In a world where quiet reading
is now called "activity".
There's no reason to be scared,
or to need all kinds of noise,
to create some kind of chaos,
or to look for games and toys;
Just a quiet low lit room,
where I ponder my life course,
where I think of plans ahead,
but no thoughts I have to force.
Just me, still, and sitting quiet.
Nothing altering my mood.
No smoke wafting at my sinus,
no one mad or being rude.
Can you turn off all the gadgets?
Can you hear your own-self sigh?
If you cannot take the quiet,
You should stop and wonder why!

Still Alive!!
'The reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated!'...LOL...What am I gonna do at this point, except laugh! ^_^ I'm still alive...although a little beat up and 'scraggly' around the edges!
This all started with horrible chills and fever late Saturday night...which I slept through...after adding four blankets to the bed!!...Then Sunday is a blur...because I don't think I opened my eyes for more than a few minutes all day! And those times were when I was fighting off my husband's loving attempt to 'doctor' me, with soup...juice...food!
After my refusal to eat about four times he came into the room chomping on a sausage bagel and saying: "Ummmmmm!...Don't you want some of this, Honey?! O_O You have to eat!"...I love his enthusiasm, but uhhhhh...NO! I was not interested in eating, and I didn't all day Sunday...except for a half a glass of orange juice and tons of water.
Yesterday the fever was still looming, and wasn't really hungry still...but thanks to a meal made special for us by some dear friends of ours...I forced myself to take a bite of everything. It was good!!...But sleeping was still my most desired thing...between getting more bloodwork and physical therapy. Yes I Did!! Physical therapy and blood drawn in that condition!!...But then guess what I did?!...You got it! Back To Bed!!! :-]
I can tell, as of this morning, that the fever has lowered a bit, but it's not gone completely. Hopefully it will be gone by this evening...HOPEFULLY!!...Hubby is happy that I'm eating...and drinking!...*I dreamed about having some orange juice and ginger ale mixed together!! LOL Of all the things to be dreaming about having after hardly eating for two days!!! ^_^ ... And what a wonderful thing to wake up at 3 O'Clock in the morning and be able to actually have! Ummmmmmm! LOL*
I'm all talked out now.....Guess where I'm going?!....YOU GOT IT!!...Back to bed!!!!! ^_^ Please bare with me a few days. This old body doesn't bounce back like it used to. I feel like Mike Tyson has been using me for a punching bag for days!! LOL But give me a couple of days and I'll be punching back!!! LOL Wish me happy dreams...of home...and ginger ale!! LOL
Dream Home
If I could dream a home to live in,
and put it anywhere I like,
I know it wouldn't be on a mountain.
I'm not a girl fond of a hike.
Although some mountains in the distance
would be a welcome tranquil view.
So would some loud and crashing waves
in an ocean crystal blue.
A very large Bay window,
would be a welcome book retreat.
I could lounge in there for hours,
watching the sea from pillowed seat.
There'd be big open spaces,
and huge chairs for taking naps.
A room just made for hubby,
with no candles, but road maps.
A kitchen full of tile and wood,
pretty colors everywhere.
The room that makes your food say:
"Come on in, Girl!" and "Let's share!"
Everywhere you look
they'd be a space to sit and chat.
{Of course, for me, everywhere I've lived
there's been a place somewhere like that! :-)}
A big backyard with lots of grass,
where kids would love to play.
A deck, for barbecuing,
and for playing cards all day.
From miles around you'll see my house,
and hear the happy noise.
Lots of flowers you will smell,
and meet all my girls and boys.
My dream home has lots of things
that it will always be full of.
But even if the cupboard's bare
It'll be jam-packed full of love.
Can't wait for you to visit!
Just bring good manners and be kind.
I can't tell you when, just yet,
because this dream home's in my mind.

Really Sick!
Sorry, Y'all...I've been REALLY sick since Saturday night. A high fever and the whole nine yards! You know it must be bad when I didn't even open my computer and say something yesterday!! :-( Hopefully it'll get better by tomorrow...Until then.
Monday, Monday, Monday
Here comes another Monday!
Your frantic work week has begun!
Say goodbye to 'Take It Easy',
and all those things you haven't done.
Four more week days are ahead,
seeming like they'll never end.
But just think, before you know it,
"weekend" will be round again.
Lift your attention, all you mothers;
Week day workers, "Out The Door!"
Time to file, and diaper babies,
walk and scrape things off the floor.
Here comes another Monday!
Whether you want it to, or not!
Say goodbye to 'Take It Easy'.
You've got things to do...a lot!
Monday, Monday, Monday!
Why do you have to come so fast?!
And you stay so long! Why can't
the weekend 'Take It Easy' last?!

Sick, Sick, SICK!!
♫ "What a difference a day makes" ♫ ... So the song says, and so it is true! Yesterday I felt tired and sleepy, and had a sense of just not feeling quite myself...Today?...well...actually, ever since last night...It's been a symphony of...drip, drip, drip, cough...cough!...ACHOO!!!!...Ugh!
So I'm not in the mood for much talking today. In fact, I have a bit of a fever, and I'm stuffy and drippy, and Ugh!!...Just be thankful that you aren't in the room with me, because I'm sure I must be all kinds of contagious right now!!...
My hubby doesn't have a choice! :-)) He has to be the 'knight in shining armor' who slays the cold, vanquishes the fever, and entertains the cranky queen!....Uhhhh...that would be me! ^_^ Good thing he's not squeamish about getting coughed and sneezed on! LOL...Anyway! It's back to bed with me!....But you?!.....Have a good day, PLEASE!! :-]
Cough On Me
How do you know that you're in love,
and that you're right where you should be?
When you're holding your sick spouse
and thinking: "You can cough on me."
When they're burning up with fever,
needing tissue, soup, and tea,
and you wanna be their hanky.
"Woo woo woo...just cough on me."
When you really wanna share,
but all you have is sympathy.
Here's to you, my dear sick friend,
just for you...the coughs on me!
How do you know that you're in love,
and that you're right where you should be?

I Won't Bore You With My Feeling Better Story!
Hello World! :-)) Yes, I'm still alive....and sorta breathing! ^_^ I won't bore you with stories of my 'Ricola' natural herb cough drops...or my green tea with lime juice instead of lemon, and no honey...or my coughs throughout the night, right into my C-Pap mask, and back into my own face!...YUCK!...or my aching sinuses.
And I won't regale you with recollections of the gallons of water that I've drank, and the subsequent trips to the bathroom...(By the way, I now believe that when you drink a certain amount of water, your teeth actually do begin to float! LOL)...or the growing dislike for chicken noodle soup!
No! I won't bore you with it! ^_^ ... What?...Too late, you say?! ^_^ Oh well, maybe I'll be more careful not to share everything with you NEXT time I get sick. ^_^ NEXT time I get sick maybe I'll just pop by and share something pretty with you, like this...
...Or maybe I'll cough and sniffle to myself, and share something yummy with you, like this...
Okay. I'll try to keep that in mind. LOL In the meantime, let me just say that contrary to the way it sounds, I'm actually feeling better today. I guess all of that napping I did yesterday...like all day!...really paid off!
I actually feel like doing something today!....but not 'TOO' much! ^_^ So I'm off to do that!! ^_^ Have a good day, Y'all! See you tomorrow!...By the way, I'm still collecting questions for the post where I answer any questions about hubby and I that you have. So far I only have four questions. Not enough for a post. If I get at least four more, I'll do the post. So.....do you have any questions?! ^_^
Feeling Better
There's no card for "Feeling Better"!
But I think that there should be,
when my friends have sent good wishes;
and been loving up on me.
When they've sent good food to eat,
flowers, cards, emails, and calls.
When they've made it bearable
watching T.V. and 4 walls.
I'd like a card to send them back,
with a smiley face there too,
saying: "Feeling so much better;
and it's all because of you!"

Sometimes you expect a little 'This', and you get 'That'.
Sometimes you will wave away some dust, but it's a gnat.
Sometimes it's an image in the distance that's right here.
Sometimes all the straining isn't worth the things you hear.
Sometimes you will find that 'pretty bad' has got a perk.
Sometimes a vacation is the thing that you call work.
Sometimes conversation meant to heal can go too far.
and sometimes on reflection you are happy who you are.
Sometimes poetry can be so random, and yet deep.
And sometimes it's, upon reflection, thoughts you ought to keep.

Chickens Are Not That Happy Around Here Right Now!
I saw this photo of the happy dancing chicken...which is really a recipe for a certain kind of chicken noodle soup, by the way...and the only thing I could think was: "Chickens aren't that happy in my house right now!" ^_^
I found a few things for sell on Etsy to share, while I tell you what's been going on for the last few days in "Sick House Central"...You guessed it. :-( I ran as fast as I could, but whatever this thing is that caught hubby...caught me too! :-(
Before I make you feel too sorry for us though, let me say that this is the lightest cold...flu...contagious thing...either one of us has ever had! And the way it shows itself is kind of puzzling. O_O ...Hubby got it first. All of a sudden he got this fever...a fever that I could feel rising on him by the second!...Then a raspy throat....a wet mucousy cough...chills...and exhaustion.
I immediately started making him drink tons of water...then take Vitamin C...
...Next came chicken noodle soup...
...and then some more chicken noodle soup!...
...and making him wrap up under the cover, giving him body rubs, and letting him get lots and lots of sleep!
All was well and good when he popped up after the first day of all of this and he said he was feeling much better. :-) But, unfortunately, that wasn't the end of this thing! :-( His fever came back...I battled it another round...he felt good. And now this morning....it's back again!...But this morning I'm not up to the battle. :-( I got the fever yesterday evening, right before the meeting...Aargh!
I did all of the above things...for ME!...Chicken soup (Ohhh! The chickens aren't happy around here!)...green tea with lemon...
...much water...and sleep...And I even got a body rub from 'Mr. Sicko' too! Ha! Ha!...Truthfully, I was up and down all night with the drinking the water thing...(my teeth are floating!)...and eating popcorn...
...and drinking green tea...(the cure for anything that ails you, if you ask me! ^_^)...and wrapping up in blankets.
I'm not feeling as bad as it sounds though. I mean...there's a lot worse things going on in the world than two people sick with a cold...or whatever it is. I turned on the news this morning and saw that there was another slew of tornadoes...in Michigan this time! O_O And the gas prices are going up like a rocket...and there was a plane crash in a residential area...and there was a carnival ride that threw a 3-year old out onto the ground! (she has a concussion, but she's doing okay otherwise.)
Just 'keeping it real', we're not doing that bad! All we need is a few more remedies for a cold...
(Vintage Book from LucysBooks)
...some soft cuddlies to keep us company...besides each other I mean :-) ...
...some dreams of far away healthy places...
...the T.V. remote at arm's length, and a bunch of old movies, or reruns of American Idol, Storage Wars, or The Amazing Race...
...and a place to lay all of it down when the fever hits us! :-)...and we'll be just fine! ^_^
And, of course, some more chicken noodle soup! ^_^ I hope your day ends up being more fun than ours. A 'Virtual Date Night' sleeping is in our future...Zzzzzzzzzzzz! :-] Have a good day, Everybody!
