Let's Just Call This Post..."RED HATS And PANCAKES"! :-)

      Guess what I've been doing?!...no, seriously. Go ahead and guess! ^_^ And if you said: 'crocheting hats?'...you would be amazingly astute, and right! LOL
 

      This post is just photo after photo of the two red hats, now being worn my Tina...without her hair! ^_^ I know. It's a terrible thing to do to a girl, on purpose, for no noble reason at all...except to show off my hats! :-)) 
 

      But it just had to be done!! ^_^ I was after a 'fit' thing. I needed to know how they would look without long curls in the way....DONE!! :-)
 

      I finished both of the red hats, and a hot pink one, and I'm now working on the black one. I'm really just practicing the patterns right now...making sure I can work 'em.

      And frankly, I'm not quite sure if this brim is exactly right! O_O The pattern is almost impossible to follow when it comes to the brim. It doesn't give as much detail as it should, or a picture of how it's suppose to be fitted together! So I had to keep doing it over and over, and seeing which way worked!

      I'm gonna try one more red one after I finish the black one. I'm gonna try to 'fiddle around' with the brim placement a bit more....Although, I have to admit, I like it like this!!...
 

      I like it that it can be easily flipped  up or down, depending on the look you're after! :-]

      I do have a confession though....I don't love this yarn! O_O I sooooo want to try these patterns with my 'Caron Simply Soft'...and I probably will!! :-) I don't know how to explain it, about the yarn, except to say that this yarn seems too thick...or something...even though it doesn't seem heavy!
      I 'do' like that it clearly will 'snap-back' into place easier than my Caron yarn might, but my Caron Simply Soft is easier on my hands, and softer to wear, has a nice rich-looking sheen, and is heartier! O_O What can I say?...It's my favorite for a reason! :-))
      Now, if only I can find some Caron yarn with all of my good qualities...AND...some 'snap-back'!! LOL Until then I'm gonna just work up one of these hats with the yarn 'AS IS' and see what happens....I'll keep you posted. :-]

      In other news, my hummingbirds are still air-dancing. :-) ... Deer are still roaming through the backyard on occasion. (O_O And NO! I don't know why they just started doing that this summer!!!)... My dad and mother-in-law's health are worrying hubby and I lately. LONG story! Too long, and too involved, to try to explain on the blog without personal details that I really don't wanna divulge here! O_O You'll have to just trust me on that one!...and lastly, I actually had pancakes for breakfast this morning!! ^_^ Blueberry pancakes...and sausage!!...And it was DE-licious!!!!! ^_^ (Sorry...I ate 'em to fast to even think  about taking pictures of them!! ^_^)
      I even took a left turn on my regular hot beverage and had a large hot chocolate too!!! LOL Yep! I'm going all 'wacky-wacky'...food-wise...over here!!! ^_^ Okay, I'm going all 'wacky-wacky' in other ways too...memory...focus...timing...solitude!...but we won't talk about the other ones! ^_^ It's Pancake Sunday, so let's just stick to red hats and pancakes, shall we?! LOL...Have a good rest of the weekend, Y'all!! ♥

Light

I wait most every morning

      What a beautiful morning it is! :-) Surprisingly, though, it's not the beautiful morning I thought it was! O_O I thought it was Saturday!....Uhhhh...apparently I lost Saturday somewhere! ^_^ Imagine my surprise when I came to the blog this morning to post the new finds for Saturday...

      I was intending to post about all of that too...yesterday...Saturday! ^_^ But...uhhhh...I forgot to post them!!...So today I'm posting the post I forgot...and posting today's post...Sunday! ^_^

By the way, the few tweaks I made to my shop listings, and my shop announcement, have made a bit of a difference to my Wuglyees shop traffic! :-) It hasn't translated into sales that much so far, but I'm still hopeful!

      Nope!...No pancakes again today! ^_^ But I did have a nice long toast and kielbasa breakfast...in between sipping on my hot green tea with lemon, and finishing my study of the 'Watchtower' magazine article for today's meeting! :-) That's why I'm a bit late getting my post up today.
       It's a good study article today too! Reminders to exercise faith and humility, and to trust in Jehovah...especially during these hard times. MUCH NEEDED!! I'm thankful for the reminders.

      There's not much else on the schedule for today...except watching the tennis final with Novak Djokovic and David Ferrer...Yes! I said David Ferrer!! ^_^ He whooped my 'baby boy' (Rafael Nadal) like he stole something yesterday!!! ^_^ And he's not doing so badly against Djokovic right now either!! :-) ... I'm not happy that he beat my 'baby boy', but I would like to see David win one. He's such a hard working player!!
       Okay...have I talked enough?! ^_^ Are you done with your coffee?!...

Pancake Train of Thought!

      Hello!...Did you see the beautiful photo of the pancakes?! :-) How could you miss it, right?!...They look so good!!!...It's the perfect photo to lead a 'Pancake Sunday' post with! ^_^ But 'No!'...I'm still not eating pancakes....I just still wanna 'look at' pancakes!! ^_^ I'm hoping my "issue" with the pancakes fixes itself soon. I'm missing my buttermilk 'babies'!

      Anyway!...I'm up doing my blog right now...at 2:40 a.m....I couldn't sleep. And 'No!'...I wasn't craving pancakes!! LOL That hormonal "issue" that I was talking about is also affecting my sleep pattern again....Ugh!...Hopefully I'll be able to go back down and get a few more Zzzs before long.....We'll see!

     In case you didn't notice...the butterfly is a BUTTON! :-) How cool, right?!...You know, I think I'm gonna have to make a few things with my buttons...whether anybody buys them or not!...It's time! :-)

     I saw someone sharing a whole stash of their buttons on Facebook yesterday, and I started getting nostalgic!...I used to put buttons...interesting buttons...on EVERYTHING! But my customers didn't like my crochet flowers with buttons. So I stopped putting them on.

      I need to start doing it again though...at least a few...for ME! :-) I'll keep you posted.....You know I will!! ^_^ ... Okay. Moving on!...to pancakes!!...

      Who's There?!.....It's Me! ^_^ It's me...being silly because of lack of sleep! Yep! All My Plans Unfurled

With all my plans unfurled today,
and nothing urgent pressing me,
I might crochet another scarf
or have a steeping cup of tea.

I might watch an old movie,
or take a nap, just for a minute.
Or I might take out a book to read,
or jot a few nice words down in it.

When you don't have any children,
and no job to do from home.
You can stay in your pajamas,
and have hair you don't have to comb.

Yes, with all my plans unfurled,
there could be lots that I could do.
It's always true...I could be busy,
but kinda nice I don't 'have to'!

Pancake Sunday!...'Colorful and Different' Style!

      Guess what?...Unlike last Sunday, when I decided not to actually have pancakes on Pancake Sunday (deciding to have catfish and grits instead!), this Sunday....it's PANCAKES, people!!!! ^_^

      I'm not having a ton of pancakes though. My stomach is still in a state of YUM from last night's dinner! :-) A dear friend of ours made us a homemade lasagne and collard greens!!! YUM!!! It was so good that we're looking forward to dinner leftovers, at the same time as we're getting ready for Sunday pancake breakfast! ^_^

       I know....I know! They're not pancakes. :-) But after watching Trisha Yearwood and Ree Drummond's cooking shows yesterday morning....both of whom were making biscuits!...I just had to share! ^_^

     'These' are my pancakes!!...

     Butter on top, 'Aunt Jemima' syrup on the side, and drool coming down my chin! ^_^ I'm gonna sit quiet with my hubby this morning and enjoy!!! I hope you enjoy your breakfast too...whatever you have...or don't have! LOL

Sitting Quiet

I love just sitting quiet,
letting silence be my friend.
I'm not afraid to be alone,
and hear my breathing out and in.

With no T.V. on, or music,
just some thinking done, with me,
In a world where quiet reading
is now called "activity".

There's no reason to be scared,
or to need all kinds of noise,
to create some kind of chaos,
or to look for games and toys;

Just a quiet low lit room,
where I ponder my life course,
where I think of plans ahead,
but no thoughts I have to force.

Just me, still, and sitting quiet.
Nothing altering my mood.
No smoke wafting at my sinus,
no one mad or being rude.

Can you turn off all the gadgets?
Can you hear your own self sigh?
If you cannot take the quiet,
You should stop and wonder why!
