Hmmmm...What Should I Talk About Today?!

      I have no idea what I'm going to talk about today! ^_^ I suppose that's why I like the Etsy shop where two of the signs on today's post came from. The shop has a lot of signs that speak!...sorta kinda. And they don't have a problem figuring out what to talk about, like I do! ^_^

      "But first coffee" seems like a great idea!...even if I don't have any coffee in the house right now! :-) All I have is tea. So maybe I should start the post by saying: "But First Tea"! :-)) Although it's been hours since I had my tea for the day. I only drink one cup a day usually, and I had it with my breakfast about eight or nine hours ago!...I have to admit though, that a large cup of 'Dunkin Donuts' coffee with extra cream and sugar would really be good right about now!! :-) ...

      So, do I wanna talk about coffee and tea today?!...Not really. But I don't know what else to talk about! :-)) There's not much going on, this fine Saturday. Not even rain!...I could talk about how far my blanket is coming along. I'm up to row forty now....Uhhhh....Okay, now what?!...I know!...Flowers! :-) ...

      Or should I say...pretty flowers on a note card! :-) I couldn't help sharing the card. The beautifully colored poppies jumped out at me while I was browsing Etsy. :-) They're a lot brighter than any flowers we have growing around here at the present....I'm not complaining though! No! They're a lot better to look at, even in their muted state, than that ton of white stuff that was in the backyard not that long ago!! O_O

      Hmmm...what else?!...Oh! I can tell you about our 'virtual date night'! :-) We had a 'ball'!!...A 'ball' is a 'good time', for non-southerners. :-)) ...I had catfish! :-) Hubby couldn't have any. He's allergic to a lot of seafoods. Not tuna or canned salmon though. Strange! :-] He had deep dish pizza instead.

      We also listened to some good music, while we reminisced about what our life was like when I lived in the south. He's not from the south, but his parents are. In fact, his parents are from a town not far from where I'm originally from! :-) Isn't that funny?!...I didn't find that out until we were married. It was a good surprise. It means he has southern blood running through his veins, even though he's got northern attitudes running through his head! LOL

      I guess I'll save that conversation for another day!! ^_^ ... So what are you doing, or where are you going today?!....Me?! O_O ...NOWHERE!!!...I'm not going anywhere, and I'm not doing anything special either! In fact, I don't even have the word 'hurry' in my vocabulary today! I just wanna be here. At home....Wanna join me?!...We can do a whole lot of talking...about nothing!!! ^_^

Faces with that worried glare.

Bob and weave and dart!
Pulling children by the arm.
Scurry, scurry, scurry!
As if they heard a smoke alarm!

Flitting here and there,
in and out, up and down.
They wake up and they're going
from the time feet hit the ground.

Speeding everywhere,
at an aggravated pace.
Pushy and annoying,
as if they are in a race.

So, really, what's the hurry?
Slow it down. Find a chair.
Is it time that you are chasing?
Because it will still be there! 

A Few Other Things To Talk About!

       I know!...you thought I was 'all talked out' yesterday! ^_^ Well, any of you who have been here for a while know that me being 'all talked out' is rarely true! LOL But I'm not gonna do 'TOO' much talking today. No worries. I have things on my schedule that I have to get to, so this post will be short and sweet. Well...short and sweet by 'my' standards! :-)

      I just wanted to share a few things...like that sweet ring box in the header photo. :-) I love boxes and things with compartments. If it was left up to me I'd probably have a whole house full of boxed up surprises!..."Where is the vacuum cleaner?.....In the box!!!"..."Where is Mr. Wug?...In the tall box next to the bathroom, holding a crochet hook and a dream, in his hand!! LOL" 

       

      I also wanted to talk about this cute apple necklace I saw on Etsy!...

      I saw it in a shop called OrderlyCivilians...But unfortunately, or fortunately for the person that bought it, it's sold already...I love all of the detail! It almost looks like a real small apple! :-)
          But guess what?!...The red one is gone, but she has a green Granny Smith version that's still in the shop! :-) ...

      It never ceases to amaze me the amount of creative talent there is on Etsy!! :-)

      Unfortunately, speaking of talking about something, our creative energies are being stifled a bit now...by the wildly increased shipping prices at the Post Office!! It hurt my heart yesterday to have to finally 'up' my shipping charges in my shop :-(

      It's been something I've been putting off for a while, even though I could feel the gradual increase almost every day...because I usually, thanks to my boutonniere business, ship daily lately...But when I shipped a scarf the other day it cost me almost $9.00!! Before it was around $5.00. And that was shipped "in" the country...I hesitate to think what it would have cost me to ship it out of the country!! O_O

      It appears that the overseas shipping rates are ridiculous!! In some cases 2 or 3 times higher!! O_O I'd be charging more for shipping than for the actual item!..*shaking my head* :-( ...Oh Well, this may be the end of my little online venture. We'll just have to wait and see...I still don't have my shipping prices up high enough. I'm gonna try to hold on to my customers for as long as I financially can!...I mean, I sold this one last night...

    ...so, at least one customer is holding in there with me! ^_^ He even said that if it suits him...."suits him"...get it? ^_^ ...he'll be back for more!...Apparently my new shipping price didn't phase him at all!..."Do you hear that, potential customers?!!!...I'm still open for business!!" :-)

       The last thing I wanna talk about today is FOOTBALL!!!!! :-)

     It is 'T' minus 4 more days, and counting, till kick-off time. YAY!!!!!!! :-) And if you don't know 'kick-off time to what?'...it's the Super bowl!!! ;-) ... Football, baby!!! ^_^

      Yes, tennis...the Australian Open...is done. But somehow....and I'm thankful!...there's always some other sport on to keep my attention! :-) This coming Sunday it will, without a doubt!, be football...the Superbowl!!

      Over the last few days it's been basketball and figure skating too! ^_^ What can I say. I'm multi-task-able!...I can crochet, think up a poem, eat, talk, and watch sports all at the same time! ^_^ I think it's a good thing there's lots of sports...and lots of people to talk to...to go around!! ^_^

A Little Uneasy, Smiling Autumn Color.....and Pistachio!

       You ever wake up from a really rested night, but still feel uneasy because of something that's 'on your plate' to do...and you know that anxiety is gonna be your friend ALL DAY?!! Well, that's me today! O_O

       I have a 'Talk'...a Bible-themed presentation, sorta like a skit...tomorrow, and all of the particulars of giving it are on my mind! O_O I'm actually kinda surprised that it didn't stop me from sleeping! I guess the 'Big Nap' was not gonna be denied last night! lol...Or maybe it was just because I was in a good mood from a long-overdo sale!...Hurray! My leg warmers that I made as a custom order for someone...a custom order that they never paid for! Grrrr!...sold last night! :-)

       So I'm fighting an uneasy feeling, but there's a smile behind it...somewhere! :-) And the smile was added to...is that proper English?! Probably not, so I'll just barrel through it and pretend I didn't notice! ^_^...the smile was added to by the surprise of two new Treasuries my items were picked to be in! :-)

Ease, By Rhyme

To ease my mind,
I jot down a rhyme.

When forced to think,
my brain cells link.

With emotions on paper,
anxieties taper.

With the flow of my pen,
I'm  at peace again.

And to jot down this rhyme,
brought ease to my mind.
