Oh Yes...I Know 'UGLY' When I See It!!

Thankfully I don't have my life dedicated to spotting 'ugly' at every turn, or else I'd be spending my life in a very bad...UGLY...state of mind! ^_^ That's not to say that I don't see a lot of it though!...Ugly I mean!...But not out my backyard window. There's no ugly out there! :-)...Actually, thanks to the tree removal, and the backyard landscaping recently, there isn't much of ANYTHING out there now!! O_O
That's a 'horse of another color' though...and I don't wanna talk about depressing landscapes and un-smileable stuff today! I wanna talk about 'ugly'!! ^_^

I mean, you haven't seen ugly until you've seen a sad bowl of Ramen noodles, with no meat in it, no veggies, and no real seasonings! LOL...But still...sipping on it today made me smile! :-] It brought back memories of when I was little. When I would be sick and get to eat a whole can of Campbell's chicken noodle soup, with crackers, all by myself! :-) The 'all by myself' part was what made it such a treat! :-) And if you come from a large family you'll know exactly what I mean! ^_^
The truth is I've been aching and napping for two days...'THANK YOU, RAIN! Grrrr!...NOT!!!"...and this hot soup hit the spot!!...Now back to what I was saying...

I know ugly when I see it!!...case in point, here is one of my 'ugly Wuglyee' scarves...

This is one of the scarves I made from some of the leftover and donated yarn and sewing thread I had. Frankly, it's not my favorite yarn, the color or the materials, but I'm hoping that to someone it will be just the 'different' or 'funky' accessory they're looking for! ^_^
I never put it, or any of the other ones...and there's a lot of them!...online for sale. I didn't have the nerve! LOL But now...they have to go!!!! At the very least, they're very warm and can be used as doorstops to keep out the cold, soft coverings for dog or cat beds, or any number of things other than just a scarf! You just have to use your imagination! ^_^ ... Here are two others I have...

I'm selling them for $10.00 a piece. I think my labor is at least worth that much!! I don't have them online though. I'm having hubby sell them all over town, to anyone he comes in contact with!! LOL
Believe it or not, he's already sold two!! :-) He sold them to a woman who works for the place he drives for. She was excited about getting them too!...Do I know ugly or what?!! ^_^ And apparently I'm not the only one! :-)
She also mentioned the scarves to her boss...who told my husband that they're now thinking of having a craft fair at the place, and featuring some of my crocheted items!!! :-) Isn't that great?!!!...I'll keep you posted as to whether any of this comes to fruition! I don't hold my breath about this kinda stuff anymore. As I said, I know ugly!!!

On a side note,  you haven't lived...and known true ugly...until you've heard your 'tone-deaf' husband sing ♫ "Say something. I'm giving up on you...." ♫ at the top of his voice over and over again!! LOL....WOW! O_O "Thanks Heaps, 'The Voice'"!!!!! He heard one of the contestants sing it on the show last night and now...he's hooked!! He's been singing this non-melodic tune all day!!!! LOL..."Sorry, Honey, but the truth is the truth"!! LOL

On another side note, as soon as the better weather rolls in...tomorrow hopefully!...I'm gonna be making a couple of pair of children's mittens to give away with purchases in my wuglyees shop. Do you guys have any suggestions as to what colors I should start with?!

Other than that, I'm slowly working on the granny square blanket I mentioned a few days ago...which I've officially decided to give away to my girlfriend's son for his bed. :-) Then I'll be looking for inspiration again!...Maybe something like this...in crochet!...

I saw this the other day and down-loaded it for inspiration. Isn't it cute!! :-) ... Now I can't remember where I saw it at, so that I can give them credit. O_O Sorry!...If anyone knows whose wall hanging it is, please let me know. Thanks.

Okay...I'm outta here! :-] But 'just saying', just so you know, I also know 'cute' when I see it! :-) ...

My 'Baby Wuglyee' bear would not be happy if I was inspired by this bear pattern, so....I won't be. LOL But it's sure cute!! ^_^ ... Have a good rest of the day, Everybody!! ♥

Weekend Update.......And Onward To Monday!

Hello Everybody! :-) I hope you had a good weekend. I sure did. But it wasn't a weekend of anything spectacular. Just a weekend of doing all of those things...those boring things...that make a weekend so wonderful! ^_^
Thanks to the Etsy shop flapperdoodle I have a cool way to show you what all I did this weekend!...First though, let me pause to say: "I LOVE FINDING NEW SHOPS TO FALL IN  LOVE WITH ON ETSY!!" :-) ...So, here goes!...

We had to dodge a few raindrops here and there in Massachusetts over the weekend...

...Today we have just a few 'sprinkley' showers in the forecast though...So I'm good! :-]

I did quite a bit of reading and studying over the weekend too...Brain and heart food! ^_^ ...

I made some long-distance phone calls to old friends...

I find that old friends are sorta like 'reset' buttons for your spirit. They put your forward course back on track, and remind you just how great it is to be you!! :-) They also give you an opportunity to emotionally give of yourself in ways that, without those loving 'human reset buttons', you wouldn't be inclined to do!...Where would we be without old friends?! ♥

Speaking of old friends, I got to spend some valuable time with my 'old' hubby this weekend too! :-)) ...

(8x10 Couple In Love Black and White Drawing Art Print by flapperdoodle)

We did an entry on our 'couples blog' about a commercial we saw on television...funny! ^_^ You can check out the post on my other blog HERE.

We also have an anniversary coming up in a few days....Shhhhhhh! ^_^...so we spent some preliminary time being 'lovey dovey'. :-)) I can hardly believe that we've been together almost 35 years!! (We're only gonna be married 31 years though. We started dating when we were 18, and got married at 22 years old...'Old' being the definitive word!! ^_^)...I'm ready to do it all over again...with a 'few' frustrating, maddening, annoying, and crazy things taken out! LOL

I also took some pictures this weekend...of my newest boutonnieres. Nothing special. Just necessary pictures...if I plan to sell anymore of them I mean!! ^_^

You can check out the boutonnieres HERE if you like. :-)

Otherwise, the weekend was full of napping...

...and eating ice cream! :-) ...

Ice cream...mixed with leftover cheesecake with cherry topping!!!!! :-) What can I say...No weekend should be considered complete without some good dessert!!! :-)

Okay, let's go Monday!! 'Let's see what ya got', in comparison with the weekend!! ^_^ I suspect that there will be NO comparison!! But hey! I'm willing to be wrong! :-)) ... Have a good week, Everybody! We're in this together!

It's Saturday 'Hmmmmmm' Color Time!!

Hello Saturday People! :-) I hope you have big plans today...or little plans for something that makes you happy! That's what I'm doing today....and that's what I did last night too! ^_^ Hubby and I had fun on our Hawaii date! :-) We ate good, hula-ed a tiny bit, and slept waaaaaay later this morning than we should've!! O_O
This morning we're gonna spend some time together too...but this time not just for ourselves! :-) We're gonna contact some people to invite them to a wonderful special talk at the Kingdom Hall tomorrow (Jehovah's Witnesses), and we're gonna do the 'phone around' to all of our relatives all over the United States, to make sure everybody is doing okay...and to encourage those who aren't doing okay!
Other than that I'll be adding some color to my Saturday! :-) Yes....I have some more crocheting to do! ^_^

After we got back from 'virtual' Hawaii...{By the way, the airplane ride was short and sweet, and I didn't have to take my shoes off...because I wasn't wearing any all day!! LOL}...I added the above 'color'...lapel pin...to my Wuglyees shop! :-) ... Then I started looking around in the Etsy search to see what was new!
What I kept coming across was blue...and red....and blue and red together!...

Isn't this doll adorable?! :-) So adorable, in fact, that I don't even mind that she's not crocheted!!...As you know, I have an affinity for a certain crocheted 'Ugly Wuglyee' bear! ^_^
The pattern on her dress was so pretty that it made me wonder why I haven't focused on putting red and blue together in any of my boutonnieres or lapel pins! O_O I've certainly done red alone...And blue! In fact, this blue one is going into the shop a little later today...

But I think I'm gonna have to have a fun Saturday color day and put the two colors together and see what it looks like! I already know I like them by themselves...And I don't just mean in my crocheted items!...

The above bracelet is so cool in this turquoise blue!

The scarf below shows how pretty the two colors can look together!...

Well, they look gorgeous together in her scarf anyway! :-) I'll have to get back to you about how they look in a boutonniere! :-]

Hmmmmmm...what else can I talk about before I go?!...My hormonal situation that's going on right now?!....No, no. Nobody wants to hear that!! LOL...My worries about my friends?!....No, no. Jehovah God is the one I'm talking to about that! :-)...My family issues?!....PLEASE!! (sarcastically)...You don't have 'time' to hear all of that!! And I don't wanna make myself a candidate for carpal tunnel syndrome trying to lay it all out for you!! ^_^
So, I guess that leaves "Goodbye!"....So 'Goodbye!' ^_^ Have a good rest of the weekend, Y'all!

The Marriage Of Celery And Moss-PART 2!!

Okay, I know I never do this, but I bad mouthed my scarf terribly earlier today without a full showing. So, even though the marriage of celery and moss is not a true love story, and I have already posted a blog today, I'd like to let Tina (My headless model) show you the rest of the story.
Is it the backyard that I love...
    ...the sunset on my porch.....
....the lack of rest I got today because of other things I'm taking care of...(Don't ask!!! UGH!)...
.....or is it possible that the celery and moss is starting to grow on me?!!!
     YIKES!! Who am I?!!!!! LOL
