...REST! {Click on any photo image and it will link you to it's source}
Yep! Rest!...And the reason he said 'rest' was because that's all we did all weekend. And because he, whether he initially wanted to or not, got lots of it!! I say "whether he wanted to or not" because 'resting' wasn't suppose to be in the plans this past weekend!
We were 'PLANNING' to catch up on some things. But instead, on Friday night he started to get a sore throat, which was followed by heaviness in his chest, which was followed by ridiculous coughing, which was followed by a lot of thick gunky stuff coming up, which was followed by....a fever!! :-(
I thought: "Oh No!! He's done it now! He's gotten the flu!! That's what he gets for rubbing shoulders and shaking hands with all of those 'Walking Germs' he calls 'co-workers' and 'store employees'!!" {Being so allergic to everything, I have my own perspective on the world! LOL}
So, all day Saturday, it was REST.....
...and some soup, green tea with lemon and honey, endless hours of sleep, listening to music, and...some rain clouds rolling in.
On Sunday he was feeling a little better!.....But then I got a little fever and a sore throat!! :-( Thankfully I jumped right on it, and this morning I'm already feeling tons better. I never got the cough or the gunky stuff. (Although I do have a little bit of a drippy nose. Hopefully that will be as far as it goes!! I've got some catching up to do today! I don't have time for a cold or the flu!!) :-]
Anyway, as the day wore on we both were feeling a bit better. {I got a delivered package that helped me to feel tons better too!! :-) I'll tell you about that tomorrow!} By late afternoon hubby actually got out of bed and started looking for things to do,...between the coughing spells and drippiness I mean. ^_^ He was even hunting for something he could eat!
That was the sure sign to me that he was feeling better! :-] We still spent a lot of the rest of the day in bed though...(with the knowledge that Monday was gonna come waaaay too fast, and that we would need all of the rest we could get to tackle it!! LOL)
So, that was our weekend...How was yours?! :-)
The cold came out of nowhere
The cold came out of nowhere,
like a dark gray cloud of gloom.
It descended on our big plans.
Our sick-bed became a womb.
We could hear our hearts were beating,
as we laid there in one spot.
With this cold, we needed rest,
and rest is exactly what we got!
As we rolled from left to right,
with sniffling, coughing, fever too,
it was nice to have some quiet,
and no plans of things to do.
The cold came out of nowhere,
and it left us just as quick.
It's a good thing too, because
we don't have time for getting sick?!

It's Monday!!! Let's Go For A Ride!!
This post is for two reasons. One, to say thank you to Jo-anne of the blog Blooming Lovely, for showing me how to size my Youtube videos. THANK YOU again, Jo!!! :-)
And secondly, it's a post just for those of you who, like me this morning, may need some bouncy music to get you started. It's Monday!!! The week day ride begins!!!! :-) {My regular post will follow}
Its The Beat
The syncopated rhythm
of the tapping of your feet,
and the snapping of your fingers
to the systematic beat
make the music that you're hearing
(that you think is kinda neat)
motivate your body's swaying,
and you have to leave your seat;
Now you're dancing back and forth,
and causing rising body heat.
And it's all from a beat-
Yes, one syncopated beat!

I Thought We Needed Some Culture With The 'FUNNY!!!" Today!
I learned how to upload Youtube videos!!! :-) I hope, over the next little time now, that you'll enjoy the things I share with you because of it. I've been wanting to do it for a long time, but felt like I'd better leave 'Well Enough' alone before I made my whole blog inoperable!! LOL
I shared my first attempt last night. I was surprised at how well it worked, although not perfectly. The second video was much larger than I wanted, and covered up my Wuglyees shop widget! LOL...WHATEVER! You could still see it! :-)
So, today I thought I'd try another one! I hope you enjoy the soft sounds of "Pachelbel Canon in D". After that I want to tell you the cute story of what happened last night. So, after you're all mellow and cultured, come read some 'FUNNY'! ^_^.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
...The phone rang. Hubby answered it. It was my dad's voice, in an excited tone, but in the background were also the soft voices of kids saying: "No, Granddaddy!!" Then my dad said: "Is this the Police Department?! I have some bad kids here I'd like you to come and get!!"
After hubby figured out who it was, and what he was doing....he played along! :-) My dad said: "Officer, can you come and pick up two bad kids from...(he said the address). The kids got really loud and said: "No,...is that really the Police?! O_0" {They sounded a little scared.} My dad said: "Yes it is. You wanna talk to him?" They said nervously: "Yeah."
Hubby, in a deep voice deeper than his usual deep voice I mean} said: " Who is this?! (Grrrr!) Did I hear that there's some bad kids over there?! Do I need to come and pick you up!!"....One of the little ones (one was about 4 and the other was about 6 years old) said, in an "Awwww!-I-know-who-you-are!" kind of voice: "Who are you?!!"
Hubby repeated what he said, and then.....the two of them started laughing hysterically! LOL In the meantime we could hear my father saying: "No, really, it's the police! You wanna go to jail?!" But they weren't buying his story anymore. 'Uncle Jeff' let the cat out of the bag with his bad police officer acting job! ^_^
We could hear that they were jumping all over my father, and giggling in that 'little-kid-belly-laugh giggle'. ^_^ My nieces love my father so much. It was cute to see that my dad had lost his fierce authority stance. He had it strongly in place when we were kids. But it didn't scare us for long either! :-)
He thanked Jeff for trying, and said goodbye. Before the phone clicked though, we heard them tussling and giggling like crazy, and heard my dad say: "Where's my rope?..." I'm afraid he can threaten all he wants. They're onto him now! :-) ...Just a reminder of why I am the person I am, and feel the way I do about myself. I had good 'Brought-upsy'!! :-) Sara Haze's song "Lovely" says it all.
Have a good rest of the day everybody!! :-)
Remember Being Little?
Do you remember being little?
Wish you could stay like that?
Playing 'Hopscotch' in the yard,
and dressing up in your Mama's hat?
Do you remember getting attention
just by smiling, being you?
Singing into pens and brushes?
Getting dimes for things you drew?
Do you remember flannel Pjs,
with the closed in, too warm, feet?
Or the shiny patten leathers
you couldn't play in in the street?
Do you remember bouncy curls?
Wish your hair would do that now?
Or your first grade stage performance
with your shy and humble bow?
Do you remember being little?
Wake up and wonder where you're at?
Make yourself go back to sleep;
Then dream the world is just like that?

Home Is Good In More Ways Than One!
I thought I'd try something a little new. I saw that there's a couple of songs I like that have been done by Pop artists and Country artists...I mean the same songs! I thought I'd let you Check out one of the songs, both versions, and tell me which version you like best! :-)
It's the song Home. One version is done by Michael Buble'. The other is done by Blake Shelton (You just have to listen to that one, or go follow the youtube link over to see it on Youtube). { http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkoT1nZOexY }
This is the Michael Buble' version...
And then...the two of them together!! :-)
Which do you like best?!
Home
The place where I am at my best.
A place of calm and peace and rest.
The place from which I never roam.
'Cause it's in my heart, this place called home!

I Can Remember The Girl I Was Back Then From Just Looking At My Hair!
Time spent with my hubby is always fun, funny, very nice, and very thought-provoking. A 'Date Night' of pork chops, sauteed veggies, and some chocolate chip cookies with pecans led to a conversation about hair! We talked and laughed about how we have changed over the years, and what our current hair-dos and look are saying about us...and if it's actually reflecting who we feel we are!
My wind-swept "Doo" in the header photo is saying that I don't mind making a fool out of myself as long as I'm with someone I love. :-) But I thought I'd share some of my more, shall I say, "talkative" hair-dos over the years! {Please forgive the un-clear....and out-of-focus in more ways than one...photos! ^_^}
This photo was taken the night we arrived up North from Georgia. I was 12 years old. The hair-do was saying: "I'm tired...and I DON'T CARE what I look like!!" LOL
Just looking at some of my 'HAIR' photos, you might wonder if I ever really got it done. Well, here's proof that I did. {Thought I should put that disclaimer here before I went any further!! LOL}
Sometimes I straightened it with a hot comb. Sometimes I wore it in an afro. My afro-"do" had to be preceeded by a lot of braids.
The braids would give it that curly, thicker look!...And Oh Yeah! I used to wear me some afro!!! ^_^
Ahhh! The good old days! ^_^ But afros weren't my only "Do"! I also went through a spell with the 'Powder Puffs'!
As you can see, I even wore my 'Powder Puffs' to work. What was I thinking?! And what was my hair saying about me then?!! LOL It was probably saying: "Oooo! You're such a professional....
...'Doh Doh'!!! LOL
I even, on occasion, pulled all of my hair to the side to make one BIG 'Puff'!!
...And let me just stop and say right here, that it amazes me how much I don't look like I was feeling at the time. I was feeling very confident and in touch with who I was....but I look like I was insecure and didn't know how to do my hair!! LOL WHATEVER!! ^_^
I went through another hair stage where I parted my afro in the middle and combed the top of it down. In this picture my nephew was probably thinking: "WHY, Auntie?!!" LOL
But I really liked this look....for a while!
I sometimes just wore the braids too though.
I would keep a hat handy for when I had to hide my 'cute' though! LOL
Those were the days when my hair was saying: "Be YOU, Girl! You are not your hair!" :-]
It was easier, hair-wise, on those days because I didn't have to worry about wind, rain, potions, and trying to lean my head just right so I could make it look cute!! :-)
But, clearly, there were days when I just let my 'Freaky Hair-Do' flag fly!! LOL
...Or I just covered it up all together!! LOL
On some of these days hubby would look at my head with that "WHY, Baby,.....why?!!" look too! LOL
But, as the header photo shows, he can't talk!! He's had some interesting hair....or NON-hair days himself!
He wants me to add the disclaimer that this photo was this morning before he shaved or combed his.......whatever!! LOL {By the way, in the picture above this one, where he's all dressed up, he says I was singing to him and he was just very emotional. That he wasn't looking at my hair at all!...That's his story, and he's sticking to it! LOL}
Hey! Everybody has their issues these days. For me it's been hair. For some it's gas prices...
....for others, it's simply...
...ISSUES!!! ^_^ ...Go ahead! Take your best shot!!! :-))
Be The Best You Can Be
I live my life every day,
trying to be the best I can,
so that I am not affected
by the degrading words of man.
If "I" know who I am,
then I don't care what others think;
I don't end up in some bar,
trying to hide my pain with drink.
Oh Yes! THEY have opinions
on what THEY think you should do,
on how you wear your hair,
where you should go, also with who!
I nod and give a grin,
respecting what they want to say;
but it's my own thoughts that count
at the end of the day.
It makes it so much easier
when I'm being the best I can;
Then I feel good about my choices;
I don't fear words from any man!

It's Chocolates and a Movie Day!!
{All photos link back to their source in this post}
It's FRIDAY!!!...Phew!! I thought the end of this week would never come!! Don't get me wrong, the week started off perfectly fine last Friday. There was the event for the Poet Emily Dickinson, the 'walk around the town' of Amherst; and hubby's bus trip to New York. I had also gotten my 'Oprah Magazine' in the mail, and finished my book, To Kill A Mockingbird!
So who knew that, after all of those good things, it would all go downhill?! And it only took two things to do it too: A giant black monster spider in the house, and an "Unwanted visitor"...*Ladies, you know who I mean!*...I hadn't seen that "visitor" for about 6 months!...UGH!!
So, I feel like this week, starting today, needs a good jump-start. The kind of jump-start that might make the WHOLE week be good! So that means it's Chocolates and a Movie Day!! :-)
Usually I give you a list of movies that I think are good. Today, feeling like a 'drama Queen' myself...*hormones!*...I felt that only one movie was necessary.....Gone With The Wind!!
Now, if you want to experience the mood of Gone With The Wind, you should click HERE and listen to the theme music and see a great photo montage of the movie...I'll tell you what it's about. But first, you need some chocolate to keep your mouth busy while your ears and eyes are occupied. ^_^ Here's some Chocolate fudge, for the candy lovers.
And some shortbread cookies for the cookie lovers!
Oh yeah! And just so you can feel dressed in the mood too, here's some earrings for you ladies to wear! :-)
Okay, now we're ready!! :-))
Gone With The Wind is about a real 'drama Queen' with a heart of.....Well, I'll let you figure that out for yourself!! :-)) Her name is Scarlett O'Hara. In the beginning of the movie you quickly find that she's in love with the dashing Ashley Wilkes. I mean she's IN LOVE yall!!
But she becomes devastated when Ashley announces that he plans to marry her cousin Melanie!...*Oop! There it is!!!*...She pleads with Ashley to marry her instead, but....
.....on the first day of the Civil War, she meets the handsome and unpredictable Rhett Butler. A man who matches wits with her, and matches her strength of character.
Wait a minute! I didn't get any chocolate for myself!!!...I need something with some chocolate and pecans....*Pecans is a Georgia specialty! And that's the setting of Gone With The Wind!!*...
It was either these, or some potato chips dipped in chocolate....just saying!!! LOL
Okay, back to the movie....Now, Rhett Butler changes the course of Scarlett's life. Ooooo! So many things happen in this movie!!...By the way, did I tell you that this movie is really long, almost like a mini-series?! But no worries, I think it'll keep your attention alright! :-))
The backdrop of this movie is the Civil War between the North and the South. During this time Scarlett is trying to keep hold of her family's plantation, Tara. And despite hunger, and the burning of Atlanta, Scarlett survives the war and its aftermath.
This movie is a complex blend of intrigue, a love story, a drama in parts, a comedy in parts, an adventure in parts, and a surprise and thought-provoking ending!...And interestingly, a TV mini-series (6 hours long) loosely based on this old classic was made in 1994.
It kind of follows the story line of the original movie by taking you on a journey of what happened next!...The series was filmed at 53 locations in the United States and abroad, and starred Joanne Whalley as Scarlett O'Hara, Timothy Dalton as Rhett Butler, and Sean Bean as Lord Richard Fenton, as well as many other notable British and American actors...It was a long time ago that I saw it, but my memory is that it lived up to the hype!! I thoroughly enjoyed it!
So, there you go! I hope this jump-starts a good week for you all...and ME! I could sure use one at this point!...Have a good weekend everybody!! :-)
Chocolate
A snow storm on the way,
finding out you're hard in debt.
Somehow it's not so bad,
if you have melted chocolate!
Bad news everywhere,
want to throw your T.V. set.
Thankfully there's music
and some deep dark chocolate!
Doggie had an accident,
another long trip to the vet.
A waiting room with lots to read,
but you can nibble chocolate.
Grocery shopping too.
While you run in their to get
dinner for the evening
you can grab some chocolate!
Okay, you know what's coming.
Are you sick of this poem yet?!
If you are, just roll your eyes,
and sit and eat some chocolate!

I Tell My Girlfriends EVERYTHING!!!
{Birdie's Best Friends Note Cards by redbootz}
On any given day you can find me on the phone with one of my girlfriends chatting and laughing away! That's why when I saw this cute note card (in the header photo) it mentally took me back to some of the good...and funny...conversations me and my girlfriends have had over the years! :-] In fact, her whole shop is full of a wealth of things that could spark some really good conversations for me and my girlfriends! :-)
I tell my girlfriends EVERYTHING!!! I know that everybody doesn't do that, but I recommend it highly to anyone who is nervous that maybe there's some things you should just keep to yourself! I mean...if you can't tell your girlfriend...your bestie...your partner in crime...your ace boon-coon (Southern girl reference....sorry! LOL)...who can you tell?!...And some things NEED to be told to SOMEBODY!!
Like, for instance, was I going to keep my recent Monster Spider ordeal to myself!!...Nooooooo!...And, by the way, no babies have shown up, and I am constantly telling myself....
{8x10 Poster Print by thebigharumph}
:-)) We'll see if positive affirmations work!!...Anyway, what was I saying?!...Oh Yeah! I tell my girlfriends everything! A typical conversation...on any given day...could go like this...
*Ring! Ring!*..."Good Morning! Have you had your coffee yet?!...Yeah, but not tea today. I NEED some coffee....and a chocolate bar the size of Texas! LOL....Sweet tooth?! I wish that's all it was!! You're not gonna believe this, but IT'S BAAAAACK!!!!!...Yep! This morning!....Almost 6 months I think. I lost count. I thought maybe I was finally in the land of no return. LOL But instead...."
{Mood Swing Canvas Bag by Itssewmebytrish}
"Do you believe it?!.....Hubby knew before I did. He's a mood detector...*giggle*...The hot flashes were so bad the other night! You should have seen hubby's face when I asked him if it was hot in here. He looked like a completely puzzled little dog, with his head tipped to the side! :-)) Maybe I should help him out and get this pin I saw on Etsy the other day!
{Hot Flashes Pin by oneeyedcollie}
...Then he wouldn't have to guess what temperature I'm at!! :-)) He'd know...'Good mood inducer required. Please bring flowers!!'...
Speaking of flowers, I saw the cutest necklace when I was looking around on Etsy the other day, in this shop called RachelleD! She called it Sharmila. I don't know why, but I like that name. It had big white polyclay beads, and the cutest grey flower, etched in white, in like an A-Line style. It comes with some matching earrings too!
...It was only $29.95 too!...No, I didn't get it. You'd have to rescue me from getting my ear chewed off if I did! LOL...
No, I haven't crocheted a thing! It's been about a week or two too! I can't get enough energy up to do my own eye blinking, never mind crocheting!! LOL I'm gonna have to get started on my YoYo bag pretty soon. I have to keep up my creative chops like my competition is doing out there. You should see the great things people are crocheting!!
I mean, I saw a crocheted Moon Jellyfish in awkward's shop the other day!!
It was fabulous!...And I saw a crocheted Elephant named Erin in this cute little shop called ElephantTrunkCrochet. Appropriate name, huh?! :-)
Now why couldn't I make something cute like that instead of my poor old sad 'Ugly Wuglyee' bear?! LOL...Don't you start with me this morning! :-)) It's too early...and I'm too menopausal!!! LOL...
Yeah, I may do a little writing...if my brain cells start linking up!! LOL I have quite a few letters to send out and I'm behind a little because I've been so crazy the last few days...with spiders, leg and stomach cramps, hot and cold flashes, exhaustion....UGH! Don't you wanna come over here and hit me in the head with a hammer?! LOL...
...No, I probably wouldn't see stars. I might see butterflies though!...*giggle*...I'm just about to order some, I think. Butterflies I mean. It's an idea I'm working on for my brooches. It came to me when I saw these colorful 3-D butterflies by clearcutcrafts2007.
...The description says that they'll flutter in a breeze!! Couldn't you see somebody walking down the street with one of my brooches on, with the butterfly fluttering in the breeze?!!! :-] ... Well, I knew you'd say that. You're always so supportive, no matter what kind of hair-brained idea I come up with!! LOL...
....Nah! I'm not doing much of anything today!....Come on over. Maybe we can find an old movie on Pay-Per-View!!...Alright. See you in a minute....You're not funny! I don't have my mood detector pin yet!! ^_^ Bye!"
Now, me and my girlfriends have MUCH deeper conversations than I'm going to share with you here! And my girlfriends are all pretty good story tellers too. I can tell a story or two myself! ^_^ Like the story I told them about my first trip to the Proctologist! It was a giggle fest of shimmying and some butcher paper....Never mind! LOL
Or the time I was grocery shopping and the rubber waistband on my underwear popped and decided it no longer wanted to support me! I had a full cart of food and was headed to the checkout yall!!! LOL....Stories for another day! :-) I'm just curious...how much do you divulge to your girlfriends or guy friends?! Do you completely 'spill the beans', or are you protecting your fragile delusional reputation?! ^_^
I Tell It All
What good's a secret from your friends?
How much of "YOU" do you shut out?
Do you tell them all you know,
or do you hide what you're about?
Do they know how much you argue,
or how much you really spend?
Do they know your real hair color?
Are they not that kind of friend?!
Do they know the way you laugh
when your giggle can't be stopped?
Do they know your honest feelings
after all your hair's been chopped?
Are they totally informed
of the size you really wear?
You might hide it from your in-laws,
but your 'Bestie' doesn't care!!
What good's a secret from your friends?
In a 'Fix' that's who you call!
Then they're gonna find you out!
Might as well just tell it all!

"Do you believe it?!.....Hubby knew before I did. He's a mood detector...*giggle*...The hot flashes were so bad the other night! You should have seen hubby's face when I asked him if it was hot in here. He looked like a completely puzzled little dog, with his head tipped to the side! :-)) Maybe I should help him out and get this pin I saw on Etsy the other day!

...Then he wouldn't have to guess what temperature I'm at!!
^_^ Bye!"
