I hope the title of my post today didn't make you come running because you wanted to hear something bad about someone...because you won't! In fact, nothing could be further from the truth!
If you're a regular reader of my blog you probably came running to see what was wrong, because you know me well enough by now to know that talking bad about somebody behind their back is not my style!...Thank you for that!
No! I want to talk about Elisa, her hubby, and their little girl, Beli...and the blog to end all blogs...From Croatia...To The States!! I just love it!...I've been reading it for a little while now. When I first started reading it they were living in Croatia. And Oh! The scenes from the beach!!
Then they moved to the States, the United States. Iowa to be exact...Now, they've moved again. To Colorado! And, having never actually been there, I am in love with Colorado now!! :-] ...Since they're off on a road trip to Texas today, I thought this would be the perfect time to rave about this blog, and about them,....behind their backs, so to speak...^_^...so they don't get embarrassed by my gushing! :-]
I'm always finding myself talking about this blog! By the time I'm through, I think you will probably be talking about it too!...Here's some of the highlights of their new home, Colorado!...
It's beautiful scenery.
A place where Beli, the young daughter, can enjoy Colorado's fun weather...
...and it's great cultural experiences...
...like Yep! Ballet!...A Cinderella show I think.
And in it's Puppet theater...
....Beli enjoyed a fun puppet show.
Beli's mom, Elisa, made homemade bread one day, and blogged about that...with pictures!
She even made some with jalapenos and cheese stuffed inside!
Ummm Ummmm GOOD!
There also was some good food and fun on a trip to a park one day too!
And then there were Colorado's animal adventures. Some of the animals were just standing really still. And were out of their element too! :-]
And some...WATCH OUT BELI!!!
But there were Live animals too...llamas...
And chickens...
...and some of them were right in their backyard (and they weren't hummingbirds, parrots, or monkeys either! LOL) There was a squirrel...
...and.....*gulp*......
...a SNAKE!!!!!
YIKES!!!.....Okay, so I don't like EVERYTHING about Colorado!!! ^_^ But I also didn't know much about it before either, except for John Denver's song about it. But I'm sure enjoying Colorado now....and I'm enjoying this blog, and the way I'm getting to travel the world without ever leaving Massachusetts! :-) If you don't follow this blog already, trust me...it's worth a follow! :-]
Happy Saturday everybody!!
Around the Bloggie World
Blue birds, with tails extended.
New tutorial writers too.
New cameras at the ready,
all enhance my bloggie view.
Face sketches, eyes so pretty.
Flower earrings to give away.
And all kinds of crafty candy
also being given away today.
A painting of weeping skies;
a musical horn made into cake;
a miniature calendar
and a snow scene by a lake.
A new haircut, all snazzy;
A butterfly print. It's her first win!!
A Himalayan trek,
and baked cookies in a homemade tin.
I love the things I see
when I look at my Bloggie world.
It's exciting for a writer
whose a curiously nosy girl!

'You've Been Tagged'!!....UGH!
Uh Oh!! She got me! LOL...My Blogger buddy over at Facing50WithHumour had the nerve was so kind enough to play her game with me. A game of 'TAG'!...I haven't played 'Tag' in more than 40 years! Thankfully, with this one, I don't have to worry about how far I'll end up away from home at dinnertime, or how sweaty I might get! LOL Although....... ^_^
This game of 'Tag' does have rules though, including that everyone tagged has to answer the following questions... So here goes...
Do you think you're hot?
Yes....Yes I do!! And I don't 'think' I'm hot. I 'know' I'm hot!! :-) Didn't answer that the way you thought, did I?! ^_^ Well, the reason is because my 'hot-ness' is not what you think....I'm in my 50s!!
....'Hot-ness' has a whole OTHER meaning for 50 year olds!! LOL And, Yes indeedy Bob! I'm H-O-T!!!
Upload a picture or wall paper that you are using at the moment.
Isn't it 'purdy'! When I hit it rich selling all of my celebrity crocheted pieces and fancy poetic artwork, this is what my estate for my summer home will look like!......*And then I woke up! LOL*
When was the last time you ate chicken?
Okay, Any United States Southerners, or other transplanted Georgia Girls, close your ears....*Gulp*...It's been almost a week since I had any chicken, I think!!! UNHEARD OF, I know!! Especially since I'm a chicken connoisseur! I dare say, a chicken officianado! In fact with my expert knowledge of 'The Chicken'...
...I practically could 'BE' a chicken!! LOL
The song/songs you listened to recently.
Okay.....Seriously?! I could be here all year trying to answer this question!! LOL Especially since being a chicken officianado is not my only officianado-ship! I'm also a music officianado!
But, if it's 'just recently' you want, that would have to be 'Someone Like You' by Van Morrison, or this new song I just heard called 'You and I' by Wilco. {I've gotten hooked on that song!}
What were you thinking while doing this?
I was wondering how I could turn my music love and my crochet love....or said 'officianado-ships'...into a profitable business venture! LOL
Hmmmmm.....crocheted head-phones!! ^_^ .....Oh Well, somebody else already thought of that. I'll have to keep thinking on that one! :-]
Do you have any nicknames? What are they?
Yes! I'm afraid I do....Actually, I have more than one! Some....actually one person...calls me 'Nurse' (a past career path); Hubby calls me 'Bae', 'Honey', 'Baby'...Or...
...'Puddles'. It's a nickname he gave me back when we were dating. {I used to cry all the time...at everything! A score that was made in basketball, a commercial or movie on T.V., a look, a...ETC...You know what I mean...UGH! I was so pathetic! LOL}
Other nicknames are variations on my name: Dee Dee, Deb, and DeBORah...Oh Yeah, there is one more....*sigh*...The kids on the playground used to call me 'P-Pot'...NO LAUGHING!!! I had a little bladder issue as a kid...what can I say?!! O_0

Who's listed as number one?
I really don't like this question, because I don't see people as numbers. But I know which one I communicate with and have the closest relationship with! That is without a doubt...Cindy! I guess, like the old Star Trek series...{Oh! Where did that reference come from?! O_0 I haven't seen a Star Trek episode in eons! ^_^}...Cindy would be my 'Number One'! :-)
Say something about number five?
This is easy! Cathy is a fabulous artist! She's also a fabulous photograher! But lately she's been combining the two...and sketching! And she's GOOD too!! And a great communicator.
How did you get to know number three?
I don't remember! O_0 I think I followed someone's link over to her blog. But once I saw her open way of communicating, and her wonderful photos, I was in! :-)
How about number four?
I 'think' I met her on Twitter...But then I was following her around like a puppy dog...because she makes the most adorable puppy dog and kitty cat toys!...No! I don't have a dog or a cat! LOL I just appreciate her work! Take a look in one of her Etsy shops and you'll see what I mean!!
Leave a message for number six?
Jo, I thoroughly enjoy your blog! And I love the fact that you, like me, blog every day. I look forward to popping over and seeing what you're crocheting or knitting; what you're thankful for on thursdays; what you bought at the farmer's market; and how you're surviving 2 teenage boys!! :-) Keep up the good work...and I'll be reading! :-)
Leave a lovey- dovey message for number two?
A lovey-Dovey message?!....That's not how Shannon and I 'roll'! She's my 'Yoyo Bag Pattern' Supplier and my Australian 'Tell-It-Like-It-Is' girl...Okay, I love her. You dragged it out of me!! LOL
Do number seven and number eight have similarities?
Well, let's see...they both have children, they both like to travel, they both cook nice goodies on occasion, and they both love their friends. One likes exploring old things, while the other is exploring new things! :-) ...And of course, they both have ME in common! ^_^
By the way - everyone mentioned above:
“TAG - YOU’RE IT!” ^_^
Before I leave my poem today, I want to thank all of the shop owners above for the use of their Etsy shop items. They're all things that are for sale. You can click on the photos to take you to their shops...Please go by and take a look!!

Do You Play?!
I had some 'Play Time' in my youth,
back when my hips could take the heat.
I couldn't wait to find someone
that I could race, chase down, or beat!
How many times did I 'Hopscotch',
play some marbles, skip a rock?
And a game of 'Tag' could go
until you couldn't see the clock!
All my games were very active.
So much energy, people. WOW?!
But things have changed. It's different,
because I'm so much older now!
I still have Play Time at my age,
but the games are slow and rare.
I like board games, playing cards,
things you do right from your chair.
The games can't be too long.
I'll fall asleep! I'm kind of nod-dy.
And I have to use my mind.
No running round now with this body.
Even so, I have to play!
It's my excuse to have a laugh.
I just have to keep it slow.
Don't want a charlie-horse in my calf!

What Would You Say To Your Sixteen Year Old Self? And Would It Be Something About Crock Pots?!
I know, you're probably wondering: "What is she talking about now?!!" LOL Well, I'll tell you!...On one of my 'reading forays' through blogland I came across a question that...Well...sent me back down memory road...to my childhood.
In my childhood there were no crock pot dinners. Dinners that you prepared by cutting up potatoes and carrots, onions and ginger. Dinners where you seared the beef just right so that the juices would keep it moist during the long cooking process. Dinners where the crock pot was stuffed to within an inch of it's life and just the right amount of liquid was added. Dinners where all kinds of the perfect mixture of spices was included and you anticipated the smell after hours and hours would go by!
And after having the aforementioned steps all done, this kind of dinner was all that was on my mind when I was about to do my blog reading.
On the Blog Other Than The Weather, at the end of her post, she asked the question: "What would you say to your sixteen year old self"...And since I was in fact, at one time, a sixteen year old...despite thoughts to the contrary by people who see me in my fifty-year-old-self-body and think I must have been born this old! LOL...it intrigued me!
So I decided at that moment that today's blog post would just have to be written!!...And while you're listening to me talk to my sixteen year old self, think about what you would say to yourself if you were sixteen...that is, if you're already past sixteen now. :-)
"Deb, I need to tell you something that you really need to hear...You're so cute!! I know it sounds like I'm only saying that because I'm 'you' almost 40 years later. But that's not the reason. The reason I'm telling you that is because somebody should have been saying that to you...over and over again at the age you are now, and even earlier...so that you would not be searching for love and acceptance in all the wrong places...And trust me Girl, the places you're searching for it, THEY"RE ALL WRONG!!!
The boy with the square head that never talks to you and the really cute boy that hardly ever hears you when you're talking to him...are not just basking in the deep emotions they have for you! They don't care about you, not even enough to tell you that the reason they keep hanging around, at all, is out of sympathy for your lack of self-esteem.
And honestly, you don't need them! You only think you do because you need to be loved...a lot...to make up for love you should have naturally received just for being you! That's a throw-back emotion from the fact that your biological dad disappeared when you were born, and your mom was so wound up in her own struggle for life that she couldn't give you all of the love and attention you rightly deserved.
Oh, if only you could see what I see now. You're funny, creative, loving, caring, insightful beyond your years, and attractively empathetic. These are the qualities that your friends in later years are really gonna appreciate! Yeah, some people will take advantage of you because of these traits, but you shouldn't change one bit of who you are! That's where your confidence will come from. You'll see what I mean later...much later! :-)
And stop using that manipulation thing with your dad! You've been getting away with it up till now, but the only reason you have is because he's carrying some guilt himself about his life. STOP THAT!! He's one person you don't ever have to wonder about in the 'loving-you' department. He absolutely does! And just ask! He doesn't need to be manipulated!
Now, about the shoes and clothes...you have a really good sense of style. Trust it! Stop trying to dress like everybody around you that you think looks cute. Their stomach showing, and everything else too, is NOT cute! And let's be real...your body type should not be in a wrap-around polyester dress! I don't care how cute the print on it is! You need to take it down a notch! Go more casual....but don't get carried away with that either!!
And while we're on this subject, let me just say: "'YOU' are not your hair, earrings, shoes, or fingernails, no matter how cute they are!! Oh so cute sometimes!!!"...
...Those are just accessories. Accessories to help you show off who you are, not accessories that DEFINE WHO YOU ARE!..Don't worry though. You'll figure that out later...much later! :-)
By the way, speaking of defining who you are, don't think so slightingly of your poetry and journaling. Those things are a definite keeper! I say that because you are going to want to throw all those years of diaries away when you get into your twenties, when you think that you are so in love that your past doesn't even matter anymore...UGH! Dismiss that thought...QUICK!
You have some good thinking going on in that sometimes fickle brain of yours! Like the fact that you would never take your sister's boyfriend...even though she wasn't treating him respectfully, and you knew he really liked you. Good for you!! Your sister's love is way more important...even if she doesn't appreciate that right now.
Oh Yeah, on the subject of love, stop judging boys on the "cuteness" factor! Some of them are really 'Ugly-hearted'! They don't have your best interests as a priority. And you deserve to have someone in your life...that is, when you get old enough to want to focus on the rest of your life...that has you as a priority...Psst! Don't worry about this either though, because you make a REALLY good choice of a life partner in about 6 years from now! :-)
You've done a lot of living in your young sixteen years! You've had to SURVIVE a lot of it! But, from your fifty-something self, to you, at your sixteen year old self, let me say....YOU DID!!!! :-) And you did it well!!! You didn't hang onto a lot of the ugliness that happened to you, and you didn't let the ones doing it to you define who you came to be. WOOHOO!!
Your childhood was fraught with all kinds of things you had no control over, {Like crock pots, in your future, that die and you don't know anything about it until you've waited six hours and then realized there were no anticipated smells in the house like there should have been!! LOL} and decisions I wish you didn't have to make about where you wanted to live and if you would become a legal guardian for your four siblings! But you made them, and at some point, despite these decisions, and in some cases because of them, you grew up. Physically, emotionally, morally, and spiritually you grew up!
And so, with a hearty feeling of pride, and a whole lot of love for you, I say to you, my 16 year old self: "You survived it Girl!! You're a really good person. You're aces in my book...ANd don't you forget it!!...And don't live in the past. It's time to be moving on......and time to buy a new crock pot. :-)"
What Should A Written Letter Be?
Should it be a simple "Hi!"?
A casual "I was thinking of you!"?
A 'Catching Up' on times now past?
A calendar of the things you'll do?
A sad reflection of how they're missed?
A needed word when someone's died?
To say you wished you could be there?
To say you really, really tried?
Solicitations for your business?
Requests for info? A note of thanks?
Impersonal salutations from
Insurance companies and banks?
Heartfelt apologies?
Explanations of what you did?
A place to 'let off a little steam'?
To, without loudness, 'Blow your Lid'?
Well, whatever reason for them,
they put a smile upon your face,
that no Facebook, Tweet, or typing
ever, ever, will replace!
I hope they never go out of style,
and keep the mailman's job secure;
because the smell of a written letter,
like hugs and kisses, should endure.
{Big "Thank yous" to these shops for the use of their shop photos. And please check out and buy them from them if you like them: The girl on the phone photo is entitled MALL-CALL-Oil Painting Figure Cell Phone. It's from EILEENMCCOY; And the Yellow Nail Tips With Glitter are from LynnsBoutique.}

A place to 'let off a little steam'?
To, without loudness, 'Blow your Lid'?
Well, whatever reason for them,
they put a smile upon your face,
that no Facebook, Tweet, or typing
ever, ever, will replace!
I hope they never go out of style,
and keep the mailman's job secure;
because the smell of a written letter,
like hugs and kisses, should endure.

Put Your Records On...Yeah! There's Rain Maybe...and More Plants!!
If you saw yesterday's post, with all of the seedlings and plants that my hubby is growing in our backyard, you're probably looking at this screen right now and saying: "Okay, what now?!! And PLEASE don't let it be more plants!!!"...Sorry. ^_^ But at least you can click the above Youtube link, and 'Put your records on' while you scroll!...Here goes...AGAIN! ^_^
{I figured a little visual from the blog From Croatia....To The States wouldn't hurt either. :-)}
Hubby assures me that these are gonna be some GORGEOUS sunflowers in just a little while. He says they came up in the soil all in a row, but he didn't plant them that exactly! He was kinda impressed with their uniformity...He's easily impressed. ^_^
Okay...Now comes the plants that are out of 'Plant High School' and on their way to 'Plant College'! LOL
I think these are getting a 'Potted-Plant Bachelor's Degree'!! LOL
Okay, for now that's it!!...*WILD APPLAUSE ERUPTS* ^_^ But don't worry...in just a little while hubby will be twisting my arm and begging me "Pretty Please", to show you what else has popped up out in the backyard!...If you're not comatose by then...and there's a chance!...you'll get the full 'scoop'!! LOL
Our weather is suppose to give us a little break from the rain today. I say "suppose to"...because it's looking pretty dark outside still! But WHATEVER!!! I get annoyed at the constant-ness of it, but I have some good memories of rain. :-) So, if it rains I'll just spend my time crocheting away on my custom ordered hats...which I had gotten up to about 17 to 20 rows on...and had to TOTALLY take them a loose and start again!!!! UGH!
I have two different hooks that I use with them. One for the body of the hat, and one for the brim. Well, I started the hat, by accident, with the smaller hook!! I didn't notice until I got to the crown and it started to curl. Then I realized...."Hey! That's not gonna fit an adult's head...unless their head is the size of a walnut!!!" So, a loose it came! *smh* So far I'm back up to where I had left off...
I would have been further along, but I had company yesterday. My friend came over to eat breakfast and practice our talk together. We deliver it tomorrow.
Today I'll be crocheting like a fiend!! And singing in the rain....if and when it starts! :-)) Something tells me...it will! Weather men haven't been the most reliable prognosticators!! ^_^ I might as well get in the mood! If you wanna see how, click the link below. :-)...Have a good day everybody!! :-)

Rain Of Love
I just love the rain,
because it makes me think, again,
of our private time together-
(time I spent with my best friend).
There's something quieting to the soul
about the rainfall's pitter patter,
that makes your problems disappear,
and never really seem to matter.
Just lying cuddled on the bed,
talking softly, from the heart;
or sleeping through the thunder's rumble,
while the birds all flit and dart.
Is it normal to be smiling,
when the clouds are dark with rain?
(Maybe its just the perspective
of the twisted, wet, insane!)
At any rate-when he's at work,
and I am here, at home, alone,
and I see the drizzle starting-
I get him, quickly, on the phone.
I say:
"Hi Honey, what you doing?"
He says: "What else, but think of you!"
You see-He saw the raindrops falling,
and he didn't know what to do!
He couldn't drop his work and run!
He said he had to use restraint.
(And if he had, I would be shocked!)
But I admit-the thought was quaint.
Okay! So what? We're kind of strange-
We never want the rain to end!
But, before you judge us crazy,
watch some raindrops with your friend,
and then, just read this poem again!

A Little Chit Chat about a Parrot...and a Little Gardening!
Today's blog post is gonna be all over the place!......I know...you're saying: "What else is new?!" LOL But that's why I'm playing some seasons of love for you...to put you in a good mood while you wade through all of the
So enthralling, isn't it?!! ^_^ No! I'm not done!!!
Okay......so those aren't plants!!! LOL I just thought you might need something to eat right about now. ^_^ I saw these delicious looking babies on a new blog I just started following. It's called Hither and Thither. Oh!! So many beautiful photos!! And it looks like a new baby is on the way too! I'm so happy to be a new follower just at the right time!
Okay, back to the plant photos! In the meantime you can listen to a little conversation hubby and I had this past weekend. We were just laying around enjoying the soft rain coming down in the backyard, talking about this and that, when OUT OF THE BLUE hubby asked me: "Would you ever consider getting a Parrot?" O_0 Before I said another word, I grabbed the camera that I've had 'on the ready' right next to me, to catch a photo of the hummingbird, and hit "Record"....
Almost done!! ^_^ Just a few more. These are ones that are just getting ready to pop, hubby says!!
Helloooooooooooooo!!! Are you still here?!.....You know anywhere I might be able to buy a monkey?!! LOL
When Jeff Was A Boy
He had an orange bicycle
that he rode all over town;
A banana-seated 'Stingray',
and its handle grips were brown.
At 12, to make some cash,
he had a great big paper route.
He'd either walk or ride his bike.
Come rain or shine, he would go out.
He had a fast-red wagon
he pretended was a car.
He hauled everything in sight,
from sister's dolls to dirt-filled jars.
He played little league football,
basketball, kick soccer too.
Despite his having asthma
(which his coaches never knew).
He had lots of toys to play with-
matchbox cars and small 'Hot Wheels',
'Pick-up Sticks' and building blocks,
and model planes, which gave him thrills.
All his responsibility
was to take 'Skippy' out to run.
That's all his dog and him would do.
This made his childhood lots of fun!
Now he's older, likes to stroll,
and grow his garden in the yard;
Doesn't hanker for his boyhood.
Doesn't wanna play that hard!
