Oh Boy! I Hope This Is At Least Worth Writing About!!

Some weather reporters 'crack me up!' One day they'll seemingly go to any lengths to scare the pants off of you, with updates about how 'catastrophic' the weather is gonna be. And once they have you right where they want you...terrified out of your mind!!...the next day they start saying things completely the opposite!!...to try to make you think that everything is gonna be 'just fine'!
After looking at computer models of 'monster' hurricane Irene on one of my local news channels all day yesterday...
    (WWLP 22News)
...I woke up this morning in worried anticipation. I turned on the TV and started flipping around the TV dial, and came across another local weather man saying: "It's gonna be a great weather day today! No storms!!"...O_0 Huh?!
Later in his report he 'did' start talking about 'Monster' Irene, but he played down how seriously she might affect our area!....Uhhhhhh!...he wasn't very convincing!! He kept saying: "We're 'likely' only gonna get...blah! blah! blah!...but just in case, BE PREPARED!!! Get flashlights, batteries, etc..." Ha!...I'm not buying it Mr. 'Unconvincing' Weather man!! ^_^
As of now, I trust one weather man, Sam Champion, of Good Morning America. And he's kinda engaged and 'excited' (not necessarily in a good way) about the path of hurricane Irene...I had never seen a hurricane map look, or be explained, like this...

Yikes! Boston is getting in my neck of the woods!!...Yep! Just what I thought!...We're not in the clear. New York certainly isn't!!! O_O I saw a worst case scenario video for New York......YIKES!!...And the weather reporters, brave...but crazy...bunch that they are....aren't making 'me' feel any better! Especially since they're showing the 'Big Girl' in action!!

I'm gonna play it safe, if you don't mind, weather people! Hubby and I are preparing a 'disaster kit' of sorts, according to recommendations. They say your kit should include water, a radio, food, canned goods with an opener, medications, diapers, toiletries, cash, and a first aid kit....check! check!....hmmmmm.....diapers?! Okay!....check!! LOL
They even said that once you get it together you want to be sure you take a quick inventory of it. You might think you've got things covered, but when the going gets tough you might realize you don't have it. And they also said you should have it all in one place....Makes sense to me!....Done!
Okay, Irene! I'll be waiting...just like the people of Nassau, in the Bahamas...
     (WWLP 22News)
And if you get too 'out of order' I'm gonna do like the people in North Carolina did yesterday.....
...and find me somewhere else to 'high-tail it' to!!...But Please let me know ahead of time, Big Girl! I need time!! I can't just pick up and move my whole 'Wug traveling band' in the blink of an eye!! LOL  And you know that after you cause your damage...like you did in new providence island ...I'd have a hard time getting away!!
      Thankfully I don't have to focus on 'getting away'...not just yet anyway! Instead I can do some crocheting, watch some old movies, or write some poems. {Besides, I have some other disturbing things on my mind...*sigh* I'll tell you about that tomorrow. :-( I've certainly got enough inspiration for some writing now, for sure!!}
In fact, I was inspired by the journal in the header photo. I saw it in Cindy' s (CinLynnBoutique) new treasury entitled A Emerald Night Out
She also included my emerald and green lapel pin for men...
Thank you Cindy, for giving me a little something else to think about today. :-]
And I'd also like to thank you too Donna Carrick!...for throwing a little advertisement my way by way of wearing my necklace out where everyone could see it, and by saying such nice things about it...and me!
It allowed me to meet a great customer! :-) Therefore, I'd like to throw a little advertisement your way too!...Anybody that's into reading. She's a writer! So is her husband! And they're publishers! Check out Carrick Publishing!
I can never get too many views of my necklaces being worn on a satisfied customer's neck!! :-) And that's tons better than looking at this!...
I gotta go look at some hummingbirds for a while, and plan a rather subdued 'Date Night'. We're not able to travel the globe today. I'll explain tomorrow. It'll probably be soup and 'Scrabble'...if we even get to be in the same place. :-(
But it's alright. We kinda had a 'Date Night' already. We took some footage of the wasp war going on out in the backyard...and we did voice-overs...kinda! LOL I'll share that with too tomorrow...maybe. :-] Have a good weekend...if you can. And if you can't...think happy thoughts about next week's! Sometimes that's the best you can do.

Going Out With My Baby

Going out with my baby.
Or going nowhere, but it's alright.
Playing games and constant laughing.
I think it's gonna be a great 'Date Night'!

Going out with my baby.
Or staying in, and hugging tight.
Eating all the things we shouldn't.
But smiling through every single bite!

Going out with my baby.
And visiting 'virtually' every sight.
All dressed up or in our jammies,
We're having fun. You know that's right!!

New York On My Mind

I've been reading a lot of blogs lately and I've noticed that New York is in a lot of people's photos, and on a lot of people's minds...It's on my mind too this morning. I'll tell you about that in a minute.
Ashley and Aron (Hither & Thither blog) live in New York, so it's understandable that they would be talking a lot about it.
I mean...their whole life is New York. And they just recently had a new sweet little baby, Hudson, who they've just been venturing out with...to show him their great city! How could they 'not' talk about it?!
And, Oh Yeah, Vanessa (The Voyage of V blog) recently moved from Sweden to New York....and with a whole big old, new city like New York, including the Brooklyn Bridge, which she took a walk over for the first time the other day, to explore....you'd expect her to be talking about it too!
In fact, she's taken some gorgeous pictures of her whole transition period...I can't show you the pictures though.  I didn't have time this morning to wait for permission to use them, and her bio says that if I do she'll hunt me down! O_0  LOL So, I don't want hurricane Irene AND Vanessa hunting me down today!! ^_^ You'll just have to follow the above link and see for yourself!
But Jan (Becoming blog), I just found out this morning, takes a yearly trip to New York City, The Big Apple. Her and her daughter just got back. There's some very nice photos on her blog too. My favorites are of Central Park...

...and this store window showing the latest imported jewelry.
Apparently it looks like the trend might be for 'BIG' this year. As I said to her, maybe my poor little crocheted necklaces might have a chance to get out in the market this year!! :-] I did just sell three yesterday!! :-) We'll see!
      Also, Remember The Pioneer Woman?!

If you've been following my blog for a while, you know how much I love her blog!! In fact, hubby just recently made a recipe of hers that I shared. Well, She's got a new show now...on The Food Network !! And they have a location in...you guessed it...New York!! Although I'm not sure if that's where she'll be shooting the show from. But, it doesn't matter. I'm definitely gonna be watching it!..You can check out her intro to the new show HERE.
      But the reason I've had New York on my mind is because of Hurricane Irene. I have friends and family that live in New York and it looks like they're gonna take a direct hit from the 'Big Girl' before she breaks up some and heads our way. {Some forecasts say she 'may' be just a tropical storm by the time she reaches us. That'll still be a lot of wind and rain, but not more than 135 miles an hour winds...which is on the other end of what they're saying we could get!}}
So, be safe New Yorkers!!! Now is not the time for excitement about hurricane pictures and that! Now is the time to 'baton down the hatches'! Make sure you have enough supplies. And time to keep an eye on older neighbors, family, and friends who may be a bit nervous about what's ahead.
There's one other 'great' thing about New York. It's something that I've been enjoying for a few years now. It's the PS 22 Chorus!! It's an Elementary School chorus from Public School 22 in Graniteville, Staten Island New York.
Wikipedia says it's composed of 60 to 70 5th graders, and it's directed by Gregg Breinberg.
PS22 is the largest elementary school in Staten Island and it draws students from a wide cross section of ethnic groups and socio-economic levels.
I didn't know all the details until this morning. I just know I love them!! And I always go over to Youtube to check on them from time to time to see what new songs they're singing. If you haven't heard them, you're in for a treat! The first time I heard them I got goose bumps and started to cry!!...Here's one of their latest...

Students are assigned to the chorus after an annual auditioning process at the beginning of each school year.  The chorus meets twice a week during school hours to practice, and performs throughout the year at school functions, local events, and on special requests.
With earthquakes happening, and a hurricane on the way, I didn't want my only thoughts of New York to be about worrying. Thanks to the PS 22 chorus it won't be...Have a good day everybody. And if you live in the path of Irene, get prepared and stay safe.
         I'll leave you today with the very first song I ever heard PS 22 sing...Get out your hankies. ;'_';

Describe The Sky

Evoking awe and bouts of wonder.
Such inspiration, you just want to cry.
With birds high-flying, and winds a blowing,
what words would you use to describe the sky?

Would you say, whether clouds are upon it,
that it blankets a wondrous space?
Or would you be more awed and humbled,
hoping there you would find God's face?

I would say that when standing quiet,
looking up at the sun or moon,
there's a feeling of peaceful oneness
that I hope won't go away too soon.

Evoking bouts of awe and wonder
was probably what it was designed to do;
That is, besides giving off light and weather,
and the most spectacular view!

BIG GIRLS A Coming!!!

       (WWLP 22News)
The people in the header photo, from the Washington D.C. area, look exactly like I was feeling yesterday after I heard about the rare 5.9 magnitude earthquake!...
        (WWLP 22News)
...It rattled the eastern third of the United States from Virginia all the way to Rhode Island and New York City!...And Yeah! Holyoke is in there somewhere too! LOL
WWLP 22News shared photos from the Washington D.C. area (below)...
           ....from Philadelphia....
          ....from Baltimore Maryland...
.....and from other points in between, of people flabbergasted, and damage done. You can see the rest of the photos if you click HERE.

So, as you might guess, with a 5.9 magnitude earthquake,...the strongest earthquake to hit the East coast in 100 years!...AND then hurricane Irene, almost at a category 3 {125 MPH winds} and now hitting the Turks and Caicos islands on it's way to the Bahamas..... and then also barreling up the coast right toward us by Sunday night!...the feeling is not getting any better this morning!! *gulp!* O_0
      (WWLP 22News)
First of all....did I feel the earthquake?!....The answer...I'm not sure. O_0 I 'did' have a strange bout of queasiness yesterday, but I haven't really taken the time to think about whether the timing was connected...I 'do' know that the local news out of Chicopee,...
...the town next door to Holyoke,...
...was reporting that some people in our area here in Western Massachusetts felt it!...I don't have time to try to figure it out! I'm watching the news and weather, people!! :-]
I can tell you that there's an almost palpable air that it seems like everybody is feeling. And it's not just from the weather, but the news too! And even though we're all not huddled together in one spot...like the flamingos were yesterday!...I know we can all feel it!
Speaking of which, the Post Gazette said that the first warnings of Tuesday's earthquake may have happened at the National Zoo. Apparently some of the animals felt the earthquake coming before humans did!
The red ruffed lemurs began "alarm calling" a full 15 minutes before the quake hit! And an orangutan let out a guttural holler 10 seconds before the keepers felt the quake...And the flamingos?!...They huddled together in the water seconds before the people felt the rumblings! :-) ...........I think the animals had the idea! Scream, sound the alarm, and then duck for cover!....Preferably not alone! ^_^
Hubby and I are already talking about huddling strategies involving canned beans, flashlights, batteries, candles, snacks, and an inordinate amount of water!!...My local WWLP 22News said: "...Forecasts for strength and direction of a hurricane this many days out can be tricky and, at times, unreliable. That being said, Irene needs to be watched closely and we will have a much better idea on the potential impact any rain or wind will have on Western Massachusetts in the coming days..."
The first 'Big Girl' hurricane...so we called her...that we remember coming through the New England area (we lived in Connecticut at that time) was Hurricane Gloria!! She was SOMETHING!!! Oooo! Whee!...Then, not too long ago, we got Hurricane Isabel. She wasn't as fearsome as Gloria, but I did write a poem about her!...Now, I guess we're gonna just have to wait and see what this 'Big Girl' is all about...Oh! By the way, her name is 'Irene'.
I can tell you something else for sure...whenever she gets here, I'll be right here!!!... Probably in a sleeping bag, with the zipper all the way up, holding a can of pork and beans in one hand, and a can opener in the other. But I'll be right here!!! I'm not moving!!.....*said as I'm shaking in my boots!* LOL...But that might just be another tremor from the earthquake.......*sigh* O_0

Me And Isabel

She's round and likes to travel,
and goes where I'd like to go.
She loves warm weather and water;
and her size doesn't bother her flow.

She packs a lot of power-
But its peaceful to look in her eye;
And, like me, she gets lots of attention
when she goes meandering by.

Beach-combers hate to see her coming,
because she loves to kick up the sand.
She can be kind of destructive-
(But that depends on where she lands).

I love comparing myself to her,
even though I have nothing to gain
by seeing myself-point-by-point,
compared to Isabel-The Hurricane!

Hubby Is Trying To Fanagle Me Into Getting Him Tickets!

I'm gonna tell you 'right off the bat' that if you stopped by my blog today to see pretty photos, hear a silly story, or see what I'm crocheting...you're probably gonna be disappointed. Well...one out of the three things MIGHT happen. You'll just have to guess which one, if you continue reading that is! ^_^
I'm not sure if I've talked about it much on this blog, but hubby and I used to live in Connecticut. In fact, we lived there for more than 20 years! And before I go any farther with my story, let me just say that Connecticut is the place I've lived and LOVED second most in my life. Georgia, the place where I was born and spent my childhood formative years, and which is "Home" to me in my heart, is first!
Our experience with Connecticut was filled with good food (every kind of food and restaurant you can imagine...and usually open when you want it to be!), good places to live (we lived in more than one city there), good highways, great friends, and good things to do...again, all kinds of activities!! (Parks, movie theaters, skating, bowling, libraries, coffee shops, SUPER-markets (One, located near us, had a little sit down fast-food cafe' type area AND a dry-cleaner inside! You could grocery shop a little....then take a lunch break, or drop off your clothes for dry-cleaning! ^_^) It was a great place to live. And frankly, I miss it!
But one of the truly great things about Connecticut was the people and their love of sports! Connecticuters (or Connecticutians) are not  overly competitive sporters, but they know how to have fun at, or playing, games!...Some of the best times I've had were playing volleyball, Dominoes, and cards with my Connecticut 'brothers and sisters'! :-)
That's why when hubby brought me the flyer, with the schedule, home for the New Haven Open At Yale I knew he was trying to kinda sorta give me some hints that he wanted to go to Connecticut....for some sports!...of which tennis qualifies!! ^_^
And really, we've been talking for a few months now about how it was getting close to 'Pilot Pen' time...
...meaning the tennis matches in New Haven. Apparently they changed the name of the tournament this year to...
Next week the U.S. Open Major tournament will begin. The New Haven Open leads right into it. And I think.....I mean I may be wrong, but I don't think so!...hubby wants to go!!
They've got all kinds of NEW things going on around the tournament this year too, on and off the court!...It actually runs from August 18-27, 2011. So we're into the second week already!...For instance, raising awareness and funds for breast cancer.
From Sunday, August 21 through Saturday, August 27, guests can visit the on-site Yale-New Haven mammography Van and get mammograms and information on breast cancer awareness and detection!
There's also a 'Cybex Pink Ribbon Run' where guests can walk or run in support of breast cancer awareness. For every mile logged a donation will be made to the Susan G. Komen Connecticut and the Breast Center at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven...The Cybex Pink Ribbon Run is designed to showcase the importance of exercise - and specifically how exercise can reduce mortality and the risk of recurrent breast cancer by approximately 50%.
You can also purchase the tournament's official breast cancer awareness t-shirt and a portion of all sales will be donated...And if you're one of the first 7,500 guests on Yale-New Haven Hospital Day - Saturday, August 27, you'll receive a pink hat courtesy of the hospital!
Just looking through the flyer I can see we've already missed a lot!... On the 21st, there was a kid's day, with music, games, giveaways and autograph sessions. And also a BBQ Bash!...And Uh Oh!....
...the Champagne Tasting that's scheduled for tonight is already SOLD OUT!!...Oh Well! Gotta look at what's coming up for the rest of the week....
Ooooo! Tomorrow, August 24, Wednesday, there's a Teekanne High Tea featuring Stefanie Graf. That's Andre Agassi's wife!! :-)
It's from 1:00 - 4:00pm. You can enjoy a light buffet, sample several varieties of TEEKANNE Herbal Wellness Tea, and participate in a meet and greet with former World No. 1 Stefanie Graf (who'll join the High Tea at 2:30pm). And it's gonna take place in the Courtside Club, an air-conditioned suite overlooking Stadium Court. Tickets are $150 and include the afternoon matches!
If you want tickets to the High Tea for the day session and a Grand Tasting ticket for the evening session, a special combination price of $250 will be offered (phone order only)...Hey! That's cool!
Okay, what else?!....There's a Vineyard Vines Ladies day Luncheon & Fashion Show on Thursday, August 25, from 11:30am - 1:00pm, debuting preppy styles for back to school. Tables of 6 are &600 and individual tickets are $105 (which includes a box seat tennis ticket, gift bag and door prizes)!...Okay, our 'back to school' days are over, and we have no kids! Moving on......! LOL
There's a LIVE concert on Friday, August 26...And Saturday at 1:00pm the Women's Doubles Final will begin, followed by the Mixed Doubles Final...Then the Women's Singles Final will be at 5:00pm....Woohoo!!
I'll have to see if I'm gonna let hubby's fanagling work or not. I need to call or go to their site and find out some more info...parking, food, etc.. I'll let it be his surprise....maybe! ^_^ (Just in case he reads this...which I'm sure he will!...I'm not gonna say for sure one way or the other! LOL)
Do you think all of these schedules are enough to throw him off?! ^_^ I don't think so. And guess what somebody is gonna be doing for 'Date Night' this Friday?!!! :-)

Do You Play?!

I had some 'Play Time' in my youth,
back when my hips could take the heat.
I couldn't wait to find someone
that I could race, chase down, or beat!

How many times did I 'Hopscotch',
play some marbles, skip a rock?
And a game of 'Tag' could go
until you couldn't see the clock!

All my games were very active.
So much energy, people. WOW?!
But things have changed. It's different,
because I'm so much older now!

I still have Play Time at my age,
but the games are slow and rare.
I like board games, playing cards,
things you do right from your chair.

The games I watch can't be too long.
I'll fall asleep! I'm kind of nod-dy.
And I have to use my mind.
No running round now with this body.

Even so, I have to play!
It's my excuse to have a laugh.
I just have to keep it slow.
Don't want a charlie-horse in my calf!

A Little Of This...and A Little Of That!

The sky, header photo, when Ashley and Aron...of the blog Hither and Thither... went to the Brooklyn Bridge Park Cinema the other day, looks a lot like our sky here in Massachusetts. We have some rain clouds rolling out, and it's suppose to turn into a beautiful day!...Great back-drop for the start of a great new week, and to talk about a little bit of this and a little bit of that! :-)
By the way, if you wanna see some more great photos of Ashley and Aron's outing, you can go HERE
I wanna tell you about A little Of This And A Little Of That All Handmade, by fabricartist21! :-) And yes! That's the name of a new treasury one of my necklaces was included in. :-))
Considering that I have a few things, kinda random things, to talk about today, I thought it was a perfect name and the perfect time to show it to you! ^_^
The necklace of mine that she included was my Turquoise Green Birds On A Wire Crochet Beaded Necklace.
Phew! That's a whole lotta 'mouth full' of name for a piece of jewelry, isn't it?!! LOL More about that in a minute!...First, I wanna show you a couple of the other things that were in this treasury with it!
One was this three piece table runner set by Serenstitches.
I'm always so amazed at how much time and love creative-minded people put into their work! You can almost feel it oozing out of their finished projects, can't you?! :-]
Speaking of which, look at this beautiful Window Pillow by MamaRabbitsWorkshop.
I crocheted a wedding circles blanket one time that had all of the circles in it. I KNOW that's a lot of work!!...And look at all of those pretty colors! :-) ...Anyway! If you wanna see the rest of the items in her treasury, including some cute quilted pieces, you can click HERE.
Okay...back to the name of my necklace...I followed an Etsy link over the weekend to an article about SEO, in other words...optimizing the getting of your items seen in Etsy searches. I learned in that article that they've changed how your things show up in the searches now! O_0 In other words, I used to renew everything as soon as it expired because I thought it went right to the top of the searches!
I found out from this article, entitled 'Make Your Shop More Relevant', that that's no longer true!! O_O The day you used to renew things they used to go right to the top of the searches for a while. Now the date doesn't matter at all! Your items are relevant based on how well you let the customer know what you have!
For instance, little did I know that when I was titling my necklace as a "Necklace" it wasn't hardly getting seen because it didn't tell people that it was a 'special' "Crochet" necklace, and that it had beads...I also wasn't titling my scarves as crochet scarves!...I also didn't call my circle scarf a "Crochet Cowl Scarf"!...You see where I'm going with this?!
Those of you with Etsy shops probably already knew this, but 'Miss Wug Oblivious' over here didn't have a clue that my little 'babies' that I've been working so hard on were practically invisible in searches!! O_O ...So, I changed a few of my titles yesterday. Thankfully they said that you don't have to do every listing the same. In fact, you shouldn't...Good!
And guess what?!...Already this morning I noticed the views increased on some of my items that never get any love!! :-) So, needless to say, I need to be paying a bit more attention to thinking like a customer, instead of thinking like a finicky maker!
And yes, I am still a finicky  maker!...Remember this?!
It had gone to the old 'I'll-Get-Back-To-You-Some-Time-Or-The-Other' pile...because I didn't want to fool with 'making' the lining to put in it!...Well, I'm not gonna make the lining!!! Surprised you saying that, didn't I?! ^_^ But hold on....it will have a lining. I gave it to a friend the other day...A friend who is what I consider an 'Expert Seamstress'!...who is going to make me a lining for it! :-)
I saw the bag when I was fishing through my other bags the other day trying to find out where the rest of my brown yarn went! I almost got weepy thinking about how much time and effort I put into making it, and here it was...doing nothing, and being seen and used by nobody!!
So, as soon as she finishes doing the lining, and I pay her WHATEVER she asks!....and then I calculate how much of that price I can reasonably ask the customer who buys it to reimburse me...I'm going to list it for sale in my shop.
I have an idea already about how much I'm going to ask for it...It's a lot!! But I figure that if pocketbook designers who don't actually sew their bags themselves can ask 2 or 3 hundred dollars for them...I should be able to get at least what the labor on mine is worth!..Hey! It's a 'Ugly Wug Original'!!! LOL...Hmmm...maybe that's not a good selling point. I'll have to think some more on that one!...WHATEVER!!! ^_^
      In other quick news...
...regarding the 'situation' I spoke about on Saturday! :-) This makes me happier than you will ever know! YAY! For taking advice and getting on with it people!! :-)
Lastly, for today... ^_^ ...the gray sweater scarf...
...is at a stand-still. :-( I ran out of gray yarn...I really should say I can't 'find' the gray yarn!! In fact, it's in the same bag as the brown yarn I was looking for!! UGH!! How can a menopausal brained-woman lose a whole bag of her 'good' yarn?!! I'll let you know when I find out!!
I put a pair of my shoes in the refrigerator one time when we were going to a gathering. I put them in there next to the cake I didn't want to forget to bring with me...and the car keys I knew I wouldn't be able to leave the house without!!...Cut to me, hours later, in my bare feet and in a puddle of tears, wandering around the house trying to find the car keys so we could go to the gathering!! ^_^ ....................No! We didn't make it!! LOL But after I calmed down, and hubby got over being mad with me, we had a nice midnight cake party!! ^_^
Anyway, back to the other story....When I couldn't find the gray yarn right away, and I saw this other soft pretty yarn in one of the bags, a yarn I had totally forgotten I had, I decided I'd go ahead and start a scarf with it for now...and continue to look for the gray yarn later. Here's what it looks like!...
It's a variegated angel hair yarn, with pink, white and blue. I added a brown thread and another pink thread for interest...
It started to look like it was gonna be too busy-looking. So I decided to add a section of brown...
(Sorry about the bad lighting. It had gotten late, and I tried to take this picture in the bedroom by lamp-light....Not a good idea!!)
This is the time I realized I didn't have enough brown, and went looking for it.....since I had to look for the gray yarn anyway! UGH!! Now I'm aware that I don't have either!! And I can't find the bag they're in ANYWHERE!!!...Don't you wanna be inside my brain...with your high-heel shoes on right now?!! ^_^
        Enough looking already!!!!! I need to get me some breakfast, find me another project to start.....before which I'm gonna make sure I have enough to finish it!! LOL {Reminded me of a scripture from the bible: Luke 14:28..."...who of you that wants to build a tower does not first sit down and calculate the expense, to see if he has enough to complete it?"...I'm not building a tower, but you can see why I thought of it, right?!!!! ^_^}
       Have a good day everybody!!....Whatever you're doing! :-) {The poem below is one I wrote a while ago. I'm only posting part of it. The rest of it is hard-core y'all....reality!!! LOL}

Change Of Life

I have one good week a month-
A change of life that drives me mad!
At 52, this is the worst
of all the changes that I've  had.

The week before-I start to crave.
I clear the fridge-bit by bit.
My 'Slightly Hungry' appetite
becomes a raging bottomless pit.

My highly focused, scheduled mind
now loses shoes, and curries fears.
My hair gets all dried out
and I become a ball of tears.

Then there's  the trembling of the legs,
Flashes-hot and cold alike,
headaches that don't  seem to quit,
charlie horses in the night.

In the mirror is a woman
I recognize-but she scares me!
"Lock me up, please, just this week,
and kindly throw away the key!"

But first, make sure my cave's  in order-
all my things where they should be,
'cause I'll  be checking 'Every Hour'
when I wake up-to go pee.
