Another 'Wide-Eyed' Monday Is Upon Us!

 Howdy! :-] ... Did you have a good weekend?!...Is your Monday going pretty good so far?!...I hope so....Mine certainly is!! ^_^ In fact, I'm having an exceptional Monday so far! I received and processed two sold items from my wuglyees etsy shop, ate a few gifted 'Thin Mints'...YUM! :-) ...and had a fabulous lunch with hubby, provided by a beloved friend, consisting of roasted turkey legs, mashed potatoes with gravy, cranberry sauce, candied yams with marshmallows, and stuffing!!! :-)

      Is it any wonder now why I'm wide-eyed and enjoying my Monday?! ^_^ ... Speaking of 'wide-eyed', as you can see, I also did something else as of this morning...I finished four custom crochet necklaces for a friend of ours! :-) 
      He's giving the crochet owl necklaces to the adult ladies in his family, and a butterfly necklace and a pair of butterfly earrings to his daughter. ♥ 

      He gave me the owls and butterfly dangles and asked me to make some of my pieces out of them. :-) I was given free rein over color choices and so forth. So I tried to pull from the colors of the stones on the owl, in order to make the owl stand out when it's worn.
      I made a lavender flower, a green one, and a black one. :-]
 

      The only direction I was given about the little girl necklace was to make the earrings for a non-pierced ear.
 

     Uhhhhh...I didn't have any clip-on earrings to use! O_O So I  had to order some online. They're suppose to be here in a couple of days. I'll be able to finish the earrings then...
 

      It's been a while since I made any necklaces or earrings, so it was fun to put my creative juices to the task! :-] Hopefully they'll be received well by his ladies! ^_^

      Right now I'm working on a purple scarf with a black thread running alongside the yarn.  It'll be another one of my 'Ugly Wuglyees'. :-)) Not overly soft, but it 'will' keep you warm!.........Unlike the pink and white scarf I just finished (shown below), which is extremely cozy, soft, and warm!!...
 

      I didn't take a picture of it all done.....Uhhhhh....I forgot! LOL But just picture the above scarf with pink and white fringe and you'll have it!! ^_^

      In other news, I'm kinda taking my days as they come. Spending more time offline than on. And doing a lot more crocheting than talking! :-] I think the weather change has something to do with that. It's been really chilly the last few days. I'm wanting to nuzzle in a bit more, and watch old movies, sip hot tea, and crochet! ^_^ So that's what I do!!...except for occasional checks online to see if I sold anything in my shop, or if anybody has sent me a particular message.
      The room arranging, anticipating my mother-in-law's MAYBE moving in soon, is all done! :-) We actually have a nice guest room again, instead of a craft room....and I'm surprisingly okay with that! :-] In fact, the re-arranging has made my crafting products more organized and easy to access!! Who knew that would happen?!...Not me!!
      My mother-in-law is kinda dragging her feet a little now, about whether she actually wants to move ANYWHERE!!! O_O I don't argue with her about it. At her age, she's entitled!! :-) We're just trying to get things ready for what we think will eventually be the inevitable....As I always say, getting older in this world is not for 'sissies'!!
      Okay...another talking spell has come to an end! ^_^ I hope the rest of your Monday is good!...If I have time tomorrow I have a couple of cute Etsy items I wanna share with you....No promises though. I'll just play it by ear, and see where the fingers fly!! ^_^ ♥

Missing For Two Days, But Found!...Without A Hat! :-))

      Hello Y'all!! :-] It's been so long since I've been over here talking my head off! LOL I couldn't believe it myself when I saw that I hadn't posted since Tuesday!!!! O_O A whole three days ago!! ^_^
      And, in case you're wondering, there's nothing bad going on. I've just been too busy with my custom order, and some other things going on in my real life, to take the time to spend blogging...'Who said that?!... LOL...Well, I could've blogged, but it would've been idle chit chat about nothing!
      Wait!...That's what it usually is!! Idle chit chat about nothing!!! LOL What I meant to say is that you'd be surprised at how much mental clarity it takes to talk about nothing!! LOL And I haven't had that kind of clarity...or that kind of time!! ^_^
      Just this week alone, I've made four hats and three flower boutonnieres!! And last week it was another three hats! O_O Four of them are in my shop for sale HERE. And the custom order is awaiting confirmation, and then it'll be off to it's owner! :-) Below is some of the evidence of my busy schedule!...

      So, see! I have a good reason to not be 'flapping my gums' as much! LOL Or, I should say, not flapping my gums as much while blogging! ^_^  I also have a good reason to not have a crochet hook in my hand tonight! Hats will be 'missing in action' tonight!...I have a date!! ^_^ ... and I WILL NOT be wearing, or even looking at, a hat!! LOL
       
       August is a good month for the 'flapping of gums' though, giving good news to people about the Bible! :-) And that's also an important part of where some of my focus has been! I'm supporting my hubby this month, in his volunteered extra hours of his ministry. :-) You can check out jw.org if you wanna know the full story, because Jehovah's Witnesses all over the world are active this month! Not just us! :-)

      Rest assured though, I'm sure I'll be back to my daily 'yappy' schedule soon, telling you the story of how my hubby almost got in trouble because he was being too nice!...and all other such nonsensical stories! ^_^ I'll spare you the story about how some burnt pork chops almost ended up in a 'kitchen fire', and also a full blown allergic reaction!! LOL Although you can probably fill in the details all by yourself if you're a regular reader of my blog. :-))

      I've got to get packed for a quick overnight 'Virtual Date' tonight, so I don't have time to tell you anything else!! ^_^ I'll show you a couple of cute items that caught my eye tomorrow. Until then...don't waste time 'crying over spilled milk', or 'take any wooden nickles'...Or anything wooden for that matter. Unless it's a bench...so you can take a moment and sit down! ^_^ Just have a good weekend, Y'all!! ♥

'White Stuff'...And Reality...Always Here!

      Yes...that is snow!...alias, 'the white stuff'! O_O It started falling again yesterday afternoon, and it kept on falling all evening!...In fact, "let me look again", yep! It's falling still this morning!...
 

     In fact, just standing in the backyard, and looking upward, you get a face full of the 'white stuff'...in big flake-fuls!!...
 

      I know, I know!...I complain entirely too much about it!...especially considering that I really don't 'hate' it 'that' much. I mean, it has its good points...like, for instance, how pretty it looks on top of the flowers, plants, and trees after it lands on them in the backyard. :-]
 

      It truly makes for calmness...outside, and in my mind. :-) Both of which I'm thankful for these days...
 

      It's been an emotionally tough couple of days...but I'm starting to recover a bit. I know I am because I find myself wanting to take care of mundane day-to-day things again, like balancing the checkbook, making a grocery list, and updating a few things in my Wuglyees Etsy shop.
      Other than eating, sleeping, and watching tennis, I haven't wanted to do anything the last two days or so.....Thus, I think I'm coming around. :-]
 

      Is the world gonna stop because I don't feel like playing?!...or because one of my best friends died?!....No! So I just have to find something to smile about...like a peacefully calm snow-covered backyard...and get on with it! :-]
 

      Other good things include the fact that it's 'pancake Sunday'!...even if I'm not eating pancakes this morning, that's a good thing. :-) It made me wanna eat something comforting. So I did!! :-) Hubby made me fried chicken and grits for breakfast!...And yes, I've already eaten it!! LOL
      I woke up hungry this morning...surprisingly!...and hubby was 'all over it'!! He made me a smile-able meal, with green tea, honey, and lemon following it! :-) And....uhhhh...a honey-dipped, warm donut too!! ^_^ Sooooooooooo GOOD!!
      Tennis News?!...Congrats to Li Na, Flavia Pennetta, Eugenie Bouchard, Novak Djokovic, and Stan Wawrinka in their Australian Open wins yesterday...And especially to Ana Ivanovic, for taking out Serena Williams!! WOW! What a surprise that was!!...and a really enjoyable match to watch!
      Okay...I have a meeting today...and some other mundane things to get back to as well. Life!...it's always right there to smack you back into reality, isn't it?! :-] Well, reality...here I come!! ^_^ Have a good day, Everybody!

I Need A Sweater For My Cup Of Coffee?!

      As you, no doubt, have figured out from my lack of much words on the blog the last couple of days, I'm not feeling at my 'tip top' best. I've been having a few health issues that are driving me a bit crazy. So far I'm still breathing though!...so I'm sure they will work themselves out soon.

      It may be just the change in the weather that's doing it to me. Here I was thinking that cooler weather was gonna bring less allergies...and instead, it's just a 'change' of allergies! Ugh! I noticed that every time hubby came back into the house I was starting to sneeze more than usual....?????...when I was suppose to be stopping all allergy symptoms all together! O_O

      The news reporter said something like: "Hang on, you allergy sufferers. You're not completely out of the woods yet! There are some mold spores that are hanging around even  after the first frost. Give them time. They're not done hanging on  just yet!"......UGH!

      Yeah...I KNOW!!!...So, for now, it's me...a box of tissues...soups...lots of water...vitamin C and orange juice...and loads of hot fluids...including coffee!...

      Yep! I'm smiling! ^_^ ... I'm also blowing my nose an inordinate amount, and other 'shall remain nameless on this blog' things!!! LOL I'm also taking it slow...resting...and letting nothing but my eyes and ears work. I'm not even working my tongue for actual talking today!! I'm only moving two fingers, and talking out loud in my mind right now, so that I can get this blog post done. LOL Then it's back to 'chillsville' for me! ^_^

Have You Ever Seen Bouquets Like This?!

      I'm taking a break from 'silly talk' today. :-] I'm too tired to have my brain working that hard!!...Instead I'm gonna share some 'seriously' cute bouquets I came across the other day!

       The one in the header photo looks like fabric, doesn't it?!...Well, it's not! The shop's description says it's ideal for the well traveled bride, or bridesmaid, or for someone who appreciates quirky,offbeat style!...The key words being 'well-traveled'...because each flower is hand made from vintage atlas paper, constructed into a gorgeous globe bouquet, studded with dark aqua and dark copper pearl beads!...Is that cool or what!! ^_^

      I love how creative Etsy shop owners are!! :-)

      And if you think that bouquet is cool....how about this one!...

 

       It's apparently hand made from old vintage book paper...

       ...including the hand cut and layered butterflies, which are made from ledger card, and vintage dictionary, music sheet, and inked book paper!! :-)

     My favorite is not the ones made of paper though...even though I really like them! My favorite is made of.....wait for it!...crocheted flowers!! ^_^ 

       It's a teardrop bouquet, created with 30 individual hand crocheted white flowers! In the center of each flower is a cream and white button. And every other flower is embellished with cream lace and pearls! :-) It's finished off with a beautiful white satin and lace handle.

      And if that wasn't enough, the set has something for the groom too! A matching two flower buttonhole boutonniere. :-) ...

      WOW! That expression that 'time flies when you're having fun' is true!...In fact, it flies even when you're not having so much fun. Or is that just for me?! ^_^

      Anyway! I don't have much to talk about today...except things I'm sure you could do without me talking about! LOL...Rain...my aching body...my lack of sleep....crazy allergies....etc! Fun times in the Wug household! NOT!! :-]

     There's always good news on Fridays though, because it's 'Virtual Friday Date Night' time! :-) And no...I don't know where we're going today....YET! ^_^ Sometimes hubby makes me figure it out with music, food, or some kind of gift. I haven't eaten, heard, or seen anything so far...but it's early! I'll figure it out. Oh Yeah! I'll FIGURE IT OUT!! LOL
