It's All About Being Blue Around Here...But Not The Way You Might Think!

      Considering how many blog posting days I've missed lately, and the fact that hubby is out of work again, it would be reasonable for you to think that I might be emotionally blue!...and I wouldn't be mad at you for thinking that, considering I do have my days!! :-) But all of our immediate bills are paid and we're still not at each other's throat from being too underfoot of one another, so we're good!! LOL

      The blue I was talking about was first this!...

      And, then again, maybe not. All of my extra money would be going to yarn for slippers!! ^_^ Although I didn't have to buy this yarn...

      ...I've had it for a while. I haven't known what to do with it!...Should it be a baby blanket?...a baby sweater?...baby booties?...
 

          ...Eh!...baby booties are kinda close to baby slippers, so that's what I'm making!! ^_^ Why not! I'm already in slipper-making mode!! ^_^
 

      I'm gonna be making some boy's sizes (3,4,5,6,)...
 

      If they come out nice, maybe I'll make some girl slippers too...in pink! ^_^ I have LOTS of pink yarn already too!! And I know how to 'girl up' some slippers...with some flowers!! ^_^ ... Okay! The flowers aren't for the girls. They're for me!! LOL

      Anyway!!! ^_^ ... I made a pair of 'Ugly Wuglyee', size 11, slippers yesterday! O_O I took photos of them today, but I haven't gotten around to editing them, or listing the slippers in my wuglyees shop! But I will!! ^_^ And, some time or the other, I'll show them too you......When I get enough self-esteem, so as to not care what anybody thinks of my ugly babies!! LOL I'm not quite there today, but....maybe tomorrow!! ^_^

Everything Is Getting Older

Everything is getting older,
past it's time, and rusting fast!
No matter how many times you oil it,
Somehow, still, it doesn't last.

Everything is getting older.
Even veggies just from the store,
have now browned and withered up.
They're not all shiny like before.

Everything is getting older.
Old dogs included, people too.
Even babies, from the womb,
start getting older, just past brand new!

Everything is getting older,
like real good books, with tales all told.
But, Wait a minute! Some books are good!
That's why "To read" will not get old.

Everything that's getting older
doesn't harm us and displease.
Just think of wisdom in the aging-
that's with people and with cheese!

All the things, those getting older,
showing marks and scars of time,
just need a tad bit more attention,
or just a small aged glass of wine!

When Was The Last Time......?!

      It's 4:00 a.m. in the morning as I'm typing this, and I could sure use a happy mug full of hot coffee right about now!! ^_^ Although, I almost can't remember when the last time was that I actually 'had' a cup of coffee. I'm such a green tea 'aficionado' now! :-))

      In fact, coffee isn't the only thing it's been a long time since happening around here!...It's also been a long time since hubby was sick, but guess what?....Yep!...he's sick right now! Thankfully it seems to be just a cold. He has a sore throat, a slight fever with chills, and has to be forced to drink water, take his vitamins, and relax!...Well, the other stuff besides his sore throat and fever are just him being him! LOL But the other stuff having to do with the cold is clearly no fun for him.

      He went to work yesterday though....YES HE DID! (shaking my head)...All mopey and in 'slow-mo'. ^_^ I tried to get him to take the day off, but you know how that is...telling a working husband that he needs to stay home from work for a day 'when people need him'!! ^_^ So I relegated myself to being 'nagging wife' by yelling about chicken soup, drinking his water and fluids, and vitamin C!! :-)) ... And it worked!... *Check one... ✔ ... for nagging, loving, wives everywhere!! ^_^*

      He's feeling better this morning. He just got up. "Good Morning, Honey!" :-) Now I can move on to some other things it's been a while since I did...like looking at stuff in my activity feed on Etsy! ^_^ ...

It's A 'Pink' Kind Of Day!

      There's not much going on around here, except that Daylight Savings Time has occurred. And for our area that means that none of the daylight is being saved from occurring earlier than normal around here anymore!! LOL It's getting dark so early in the evening now! Like, around five-ish!! O_O

      All of those lovely pink hues of a late evening sunset...*sigh*...gone! Oh well, I'll just have to find my pink hues in other places!...

      Look at the lovely pink hues on the redpoll bird in the header photo, and on the ballet dancer's tutu in the beautiful watercolor print above. :-] 

      I'm working with some pink hues of my own...scarf-wise. :-] The scarf I was working on yesterday is all done now...

      And I've already started another one! ^_^ This one is gonna be in two shades of pink, and white. And it's superbly soft too!! In fact the baby pink is a kind of fuzzy soft yarn...

 

      I love having soft scarves next to my face and skin in the wintertime. Don't you?!...
 

      The crochet hook I'm using is the new bamboo crochet hook I got in the mail today...size 'P' (17). It's the size of my old wooden crochet hook that I was using as my scarf-making hook...the one I can't find! Grrrr!
      The only thing I don't like about this hook is that the handle isn't long enough for me. I didn't realize it until now, but with my arthritis flaring up from time to time...including today!...having the longer hook was a way of resting the other part of my hand somehow...Don't try to get me to explain it, because I can't!! LOL I don't know how my hands 'work'. I just know how they feel when I crochet the wrong way for any period of time....OUCH!!
      Unless I find my old 'Go To' wooden crochet hook pretty soon, I fear that it might take a bit longer for this 'pink-hued' baby to get finished!...
 

      As with all things I talk about on this blog...I'll keep you posted! ^_^

      By the way, there was no pink in this treasury anywhere, but I still wanna show it to you...

      There's no other news to report. There have been no more coyote sightings. No mother-in-law moving in....YET! And no new dinner concoctions from hubby's kitchen! ^_^ There also have still been no sales in my wuglyees Etsy shop!! Ugh!........A pink grapefruit mimosa sounds good about now!! LOL

Daylight

Daylight, you bring such happiness,
shining on the Autumn hues.

How could some light, or lack of it,

We Both Know August Is....GONE!!...............Hello September!! :-)

      Can you believe how fast the time is flying?!!! O_O I mean, I know I've been busy this month, but WOW!! Tomorrow will be the first day of September already!!...And no...the header photo is not from my backyard! ^_^ It was a gift photo from a fellow Etsian, Tamara. ♥
      
      Fall, or Autumn, is coming fast!!! I can already see the leaves dying on the branches as they blow around in the wind. NOT VERY PRETTY! LOL...But the colors that are coming soon WILL BE pretty!! ^_^ In fact, my latest crochet hat and brooch set has a kind of Fall/Autumn color pallette! :-)

      I guess I should be more precise and say hubby is chicken-sitting AND chicken-wrangling today! :-)) Somehow.....they got out!!! Ha! Ha! He has to 'wrangle them doggies' back into the yard....away from the neighbor's yards! O_O ... He is having waaay too much fun with those chickens!! LOL

Yikes!...It's All Piling Up!!

     As you fellow bloggers have probably noticed, the regularity of my blogging has been staggered lately. I used to post every day...and hope to get back to that soon!...but because of my busy schedule this month I haven't had the kind of easy focus I usually have. In fact, it feels like everything is just piling up, and up, and up!! O_O

     I've been working custom orders, re-working and renewing a lot of items in my Etsy shop, trying to promote the slew of treasuries my crochet items have been in lately....8 or 9 just this past week!!! O_O...supporting my husband's increased activity in the ministry this month, trying to be encouraging to my mother-in-law, who is having a few challenges right now, and crocheting hats like a crazy woman!! ^_^

     I know something is left out of that list...hmmmmm...maybe I'll think of it before I'm done. But just with the list you've seen so far, isn't it clear that I'm being piled up on?! LOL That's why it's nice when I get a minute to sit down and smile. :-) And that's what I did when I saw this pretty treasury!...

     Over the next few days I'll share some of the other treasuries, and the great items that were chosen for them. But today I just wanted to catch up with you, and share my latest finished project! :-) ...

      Yes...yes!...I know the picture is awful!! :-))  But that's what happens when I don't have much time, and when my brain is trying to convince me that if I don't hurry up, things are gonna start piling up on me!!

     Thankfully I have a husband who likes to fix up my mistakes! LOL Although...I did try to fix up the photos. Look (below)!...
 

     No!...they don't look much better! :-)) But, if it's any consolation, I did slow myself down around lunchtime, to have a pile of my hubby's homemade turkey chowder! :-) ... Sorry...I didn't take any photos of it! ^_^ But I'm here to report...it was DELICIOUS!!! :-)

     And even though the lighting wasn't the best by the time hubby got a hold of my camera, he was able to get some much better shots of my new hat than I was able to!! :-) ...
 

     Even he is not perfect though!! LOL...
 

     This is a new pattern I just bought from a shop on Etsy...easycreations. It's a cowboy/cowgirl hat...even though my first attempt at it doesn't really look like a cowboy/cowgirl hat!! LOL...
 

     The yarn I used is soft, so the hat doesn't hold the indent in the top all that well...at least my first attempt didn't! ^_^ All of the 'bones' are there though, so I could starch it into the cowboy shape if I wanted to!...but I don't want to! ^_^ I like it just like it is!! :-) I even added a detachable flower brooch pin to the back of it, to make it even more like me!
     I'm starting a variegated 'angel hair' version of this hat next. We'll see if I can get it to look more 'cowboy-ee'. LOL But since the pattern seller says that as long as you buy the pattern you can make and sell as many of the hats as you want, I don't care whether it looks cowboy-ee or not. I'm gonna sell whatever comes out!! ^_^ I don't waste yarn. I just pile my created stuff up until somebody takes it off of my hands!! LOL This hat will be in the wuglyees shop for sale later today!! :-)

     Okay...I'm off to get some other stuff done while it's still light outside, and while half of my brain still has a mental hamster in there going around and around on a wheel!! LOL Have a good rest of the day, Everybody! :-)
