Mourning An Old Car?!...I Got This!!!

      Sorry I was late with the post today. A lot of other things took first precedent...like, for instance, mourning over our old car. Yep!...It's gone. :-( They came and picked it up today...*sigh*...Another car....GONE!

      Oh Well...I'm sure another 'hoopty' of some kind or the other will come along soon. Or else we'll go back to the mode of transport of 'The Flintstones'! ^_^ You know...'two-footing-it'!! LOL

      On a good note...sticking with my'always-something-to-smile-about-on-this-blog' theme...I got a gift out of the money they gave us to haul the old car away. I got a meatball sub sandwich... ^_^ ...

      Thanks to my hubby I'm not mourning for the old car too much right now. ^_^ ... {By the way, thanks goes to the fabulous Etsy shops that allowed me to share their items today, so that I could tell my story. ♥}

      I didn't spend the whole day eating though! I also did some crocheting. I finished one of my artsy hats, and started another one. :-) I may finish this one by tomorrow. In which case I'll take photos and show you! Then I'll list them in my wuglyees shop! :-) After all, I'm not crocheting hats for my health! LOL

      Actually that's not entirely true! :-) If I didn't crochet, my health...my 'mental health' I mean...might not be so hot!! LOL There's something about the mindless rhythm of crocheting that sets my brain cells right....Don't call the psychiatrist though. I got this!! LOL

      In this regard, I think MaryOriginals' mind must be GREAT!!! :-) Look at how cute her crochet hats are!!...

Some Days

Chocolate...Hat! :-)

      Sooooo...what's new with you?! ^_^ Clearly, there's not much new with me...except hat after hat after hat!! LOL And considering the week I had last week, hat after hat after hat sounds like a whopping good time!...TRUST ME!! ^_^
 

      My new schedule with the PCA (personal care assistant) is working great! I feel more organized and more productive these days. I was even able to go through my closet and gather all of my scarves and shawls for washing today! :-) I know. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but it was one of those things where I kept saying: "I have to do that!"...and somehow five years went by and it never got done!! :-))

     But now it's done! :-) ... And uhhhhh...who knew I had that many clothing accessories?!! O_O I could've started my own colorful shawl and scarf shop!! :-]

      My shawl and scarf shop will have to wait it's turn though. First I have to open up a button, shoe, old jewelry, and hat shop! LOL

      Speaking of hats... ^_^ ...This is the new chocolate brown hat I finished last night! :-) ...
 

      And, lo and behold, is that one of my buttons on the side?!.....Why yes it is!! :-)) Now only a million and a half buttons left to use!! ^_^ ...

      And yes...those are a pair of my earrings that Shequita is wearing! ^_^ She spent half of yesterday bald. I figured it was time for her to 'feel like a woman'!! LOL 

      This morning, early, I started another hat! ^_^ I'm making it with some Caron Simply Soft paints yarn. New to me!...

      I don't know how the hat will look in the end. I couldn't visualize it in a hat. I immediately 'could' see it in a scarf though!...So.....stay tuned! We'll all see it together! :-)))

      In the meantime...back to the hat-making business!! Go, Wuglyees!! :-) Have a good week, everybody!! ♥

Chocolate

A snow storm on the way,
finding out you're hard in debt.
Somehow it's not so bad,
if you have melted chocolate!

Bad news everywhere,
want to throw your T.V. set.
Thankfully there is music
and some deep dark chocolate!

Doggie had an accident,
a long trip to the vet.
A waiting room with lots to read,
but you can nibble chocolate.

Grocery shopping too.
While you run in there to get
dinner for the evening
you can grab some chocolate!

Okay, you know what's coming.
Are you sick of this poem yet?!
If you are, just roll your eyes,
and sit and eat some chocolate!

     Do you 'rememerah' yesterday, when I told you that I was pretty sure I was all done with Etsy treasuries, and how I told you that it would probably be a while before you saw any more on the blog?...Well...say hello to today!...and let's call it 'A While'!! LOL

     They both featured one of my crochet brooches! :-) Of course there were other cute items from the different shops too!...but since my mind is kinda anxious these days, I just wanna move on...fast!! ^_^ Although I want credit for the fact that I did share a few of the items!! ^_^ Anybody gonna give me credit?!!!!....Oh Well! I guess I'll still survive!! LOL

     I guess I should be completely honest and tell you that I'm also watching the U.S. Open men's tennis tournament right now too! :-)) (Kei Nishikori against Marin Cilic) I'm having a real problem getting into it though. There's no 'Baby Boy' (Rafa Nadal), no Roger Federer, and no Novak Djokovic!! O_O It's almost unbelievable that there will be a completely new champion this year!!!

     Oh Yeah...and I'm also crocheting two hats at the same time (alternating the rows! ^_^)! I think just about anybody would be a bit anxious with all of these scenarios, don't you?! ^_^ ... Please forgive my dark photos, but I wanted to show you...sorta, kinda...the hat I finished yesterday!...

     It's not in my Wuglyees shop yet. I'm trying to wait until I finish the other two hats, and can get some decent photos!!...Speaking of which, here is where the other two hats are at the moment...

     The lighter colors were easier to photograph when a cloud went by! ^_^

     I'm gonna make flower brooches for all of them too...just in case the buyers want to wear them with a flower on them! :-] Or if there ARE a buyer for them!! LOL Sales are real 'slim pickings' in the shop these days. Like, for instance, NONE!!! LOL But I'm hopeful that my $20.00 hats will make all the difference!!!....Ha! ^_^

     In other news...there is no other news!! ^_^ Not that I can talk about anyway!...or that you would want to hear. TRUST ME on that one!!!!!!!! Ugh! Therefore I will just keep moving on! ^_^ Hubby has the house smelling like a whole lot of deliciousness, and it's adding to my anxious!! ^_^ But in a good way this time!! :-) Have a good rest of the day, Everybody!! ♥

No Rhyme Or Reason

I've never written a poem
that didn't have a rolling rhyme.
In my head that's how I see words.
Rhyming lines come every time!

No matter what the subject,
'food', 'crochet', 'hubby's bike'.
In my mind I have to find
a word that sounds alike!

Have I written words on paper
without rhyming every word?!
Yes I have! About my father,
and my backyard hummingbird.

But when I think of poems
I can almost tap my feet...
as if music is now playing,
and I'm rhyming to a beat!

Is this every Poet's way?!
I don't know. I just know ME!
But if I wrote about it,
it would be a rhyming soliloquy! 

Missing For Two Days, But Found!...Without A Hat! :-))

      Hello Y'all!! :-] It's been so long since I've been over here talking my head off! LOL I couldn't believe it myself when I saw that I hadn't posted since Tuesday!!!! O_O A whole three days ago!! ^_^
      And, in case you're wondering, there's nothing bad going on. I've just been too busy with my custom order, and some other things going on in my real life, to take the time to spend blogging...'Who said that?!... LOL...Well, I could've blogged, but it would've been idle chit chat about nothing!
      Wait!...That's what it usually is!! Idle chit chat about nothing!!! LOL What I meant to say is that you'd be surprised at how much mental clarity it takes to talk about nothing!! LOL And I haven't had that kind of clarity...or that kind of time!! ^_^
      Just this week alone, I've made four hats and three flower boutonnieres!! And last week it was another three hats! O_O Four of them are in my shop for sale HERE. And the custom order is awaiting confirmation, and then it'll be off to it's owner! :-) Below is some of the evidence of my busy schedule!...

      So, see! I have a good reason to not be 'flapping my gums' as much! LOL Or, I should say, not flapping my gums as much while blogging! ^_^  I also have a good reason to not have a crochet hook in my hand tonight! Hats will be 'missing in action' tonight!...I have a date!! ^_^ ... and I WILL NOT be wearing, or even looking at, a hat!! LOL
       
       August is a good month for the 'flapping of gums' though, giving good news to people about the Bible! :-) And that's also an important part of where some of my focus has been! I'm supporting my hubby this month, in his volunteered extra hours of his ministry. :-) You can check out jw.org if you wanna know the full story, because Jehovah's Witnesses all over the world are active this month! Not just us! :-)

      Rest assured though, I'm sure I'll be back to my daily 'yappy' schedule soon, telling you the story of how my hubby almost got in trouble because he was being too nice!...and all other such nonsensical stories! ^_^ I'll spare you the story about how some burnt pork chops almost ended up in a 'kitchen fire', and also a full blown allergic reaction!! LOL Although you can probably fill in the details all by yourself if you're a regular reader of my blog. :-))

      I've got to get packed for a quick overnight 'Virtual Date' tonight, so I don't have time to tell you anything else!! ^_^ I'll show you a couple of cute items that caught my eye tomorrow. Until then...don't waste time 'crying over spilled milk', or 'take any wooden nickles'...Or anything wooden for that matter. Unless it's a bench...so you can take a moment and sit down! ^_^ Just have a good weekend, Y'all!! ♥

Benches

Wooden, with an indent.
Sturdy, aged by the sun.
A place to rest when you are tired.
A stop when you are on the run.

A slatted back, for resting shoulders,
and cemented to the ground.
A wrought-iron rusted swirly arm-rest,
and a place to put bags down.

A place for you to catch a bus,
or to feed a hungry squirrel.
Where good friends can stop and chat
about the big news of the world.

Alone and beaten by the weather,
chipping paint, long past brand new.
Almost like some people we know,
who are inconspicuous too.

So reliably unnoticed,
all the benches that we pass.
Sitting there, just waiting for us,
if we too run out of gas.

      Hello Everybody!...Are you well?!...Is your week off to a good start so far?!...Did you have a good weekend?! :-] I started out with some chit chat about you because I've been doing a lot of chit chatting around here about 'me' lately!...and I'm about to do it again! ^_^

      But before I start talking about me again...or, rather, about what I've been doing...I want to show you a couple of cute items that I saw in my etsy activity feed!...starting with that beautiful jewelry box in the header photo!

      And, of course, the most cutest part of it...that is, if 'most cutest' was proper grammar...which it probably ain't!... ^_^...is the beautiful flowers up on top of the box! :-) And of course the blue!! :-)

     I always have great respect for knitters, because I know how to do it, but also know how tedious it is to do!! And especially when it's tiny needles, and tiny baby booties! O_O And look at the ruffles!! WOW!

    Okay, enough about them! :-)) Let me show you the hats I've been working out with the new patterns!...

      And just take my word for it when I say: 'These photos do not do justice to the actual hats!...especially this hot pink one!...
 

      It's a cool pattern. It has a sorta A-line angle when you let the bri down, but has an interesting look when the brim is folded up! :-] And I think a large interesting button sewn on the side will make it even cuter!!..
 

      Then there is the black one that I made with the 'Vanna's Choice' yarn...
 

      The flower on the side is not one of mine though. It was a part of the pattern. Cute, but I like mine better! ^_^ But of course I would!! ^_^ I do like the crochet leaves though!!

      You can actually tell that the hat is black in those two photos. The top ones make it look like it has a blue hue or something...which it doesn't.

      And you've seen this red hat before. But not in the backyard! ^_^ ...

      So, that makes four hats made this week! :-) And one wedding shawl finished. ^_^ Now what?!....More hats and another shawl, of course!! LOL...What have you been making?!...Eating?!...doing?! ^_^ I can't wait to read about it!!...that is, if anybody leaves me a message!!! *hint! hint!* ^_^ Just think!...pretty soon it's gonna be all tennis talk around here! ^_^ *U.S. Open* ... Be The Best You Can Be

I live my life every day,
trying to be the very best I can,
so that I am not affected
by the degrading words of man.

If "I" know who I am,
then I don't care what others think;
I don't end up in some bar,
trying to hide my pain with drink.

Oh Yes! THEY have opinions
on what THEY think you should do,
on how you wear your hair,
where you should go, also with who!

I nod and give a grin,
respecting what they want to say;
but it's 'my' thoughts that will count
at the end of the day.

It makes it so much easier
when I'm being the best I can;
Then I feel good about my choices;
I don't fear words from any man!
