Time...It's A HIT!...And It Goes By Soooooo Fast!!

      One day I was here talking my head off...The next day I was in the house crocheting my fingers off...Then I looked up and two weeks had flown by like...*snapping my finger*...THAT!! O_O Time really doesn't wait for nobody, does it!!

      And in that span of two weeks or so, everything has happened...and nothing! Mostly nothing. :-)) I've been crocheting slippers like a crazy woman! Apparently my crochet slippers are a 'HIT'! ^_^ Everyone so far that have received them have loved them! I get feedback with the words 'comfy, cozy' in it all the time....I'll take it!! :-)

      Other things have been going on too...like many burnt dinners by my adventurous cooking hubby. But uhhhh...I'm still alive and eating, so you know it hasn't been 'that' bad! LOL To his credit, there were some real 'HITS' in there too...like chocolate walnut brownies with peanut butter sauce!!

      Other things happening around here include key chains galore!...

      The keychain above is in the wuglyees shop now, but others I made aren't in there yet. I just haven't had time to photograph them and get them listed! But I'll get there....eventually!! :-) 

      There's a lot of other stuff going on that is not so smile-worthy, so I'll spare you from having to hear me rant on about it! But there have been some good things too...like the fact that every once in a while I've had a couple of minutes to pop on the computer and look around! :-) The last time I did I saw this...

      I was kinda surprised at it, because my artsy crochet hats have not been a 'HIT'! :-)) In fact, they've been a 'SIT'!...as in sit-ting right there in my wuglyees shop doing nothing but taking up space and looking pretty!! LOL Oh well...thankfully I have my slippers!! :-) ...

      Oh Yeah!...and crochet flower brooches!...which have also been a 'HIT' lately!! ^_^ I lowered the price on them quite a bit just so I could see them move. And whether it's the fact that Spring is coming, or that I offer them in a lot of colors, or for whatever reason...they're moving!! :-)

      Hopefully over the next few days I can share with you some of the other stuff going on around here, and show you some of the things I've been making....that is, if I photograph them before I send them off to their new homes! ^_^ I have two pair of crochet slippers I'm shipping out this morning, and some crochet flower brooches I'm hoping to be shipping out tomorrow!!

      AND...among other things on the upcoming agenda...it's tax paying season again! UGH!...I've got to get my books in order and pay up!!

The Salesman Story...Part 2!

     Soooo...hubby went to one of the 'large' formal wear shops in our area yesterday...I won't tell you the name of it yet,  just in case it doesn't turn out to be anything! :-)) But hubby was all dressed in his best suit, face-to-face with another well-dressed gentleman all 'dappered-out' in a suit himself! 

      Hubby was wearing one of my boutonnieres, which immediately caught the gentleman's attention. :-) Then he pulled out the little blue box with the other boutonnieres and lapel pins of mine in it, and it was ON!!!!... ^_^ ...conversation and sales pitching I mean. :-) I'll tell you what happened in a minute...^_^...first let me show you the set of custom brooches I finished!...

       Okay, now that I have sufficiently dragged you all along!... ^_^ ...back to my salesman story!...

      ...After showing the well dressed gentleman my boutonnieres and lapel pins, the man said: "You've got a great idea there!!...The only problem is that we're not a franchise. In other words, our shop can't individually decide to add new items to our business...We're a corporation, and all decisions have to come down from the corporate office...But I think your items are good enough to give the office a call!...Here's the number."

      Then he handed hubby a business card with the name of the person to contact, with the phone number, email, and website address!!! ^_^) Woohoo!!!!...I was soooooo excited!!! :-] ... This morning I'm scared to death!!!! O_O What can I say. I'm crazy! Ha! Ha!

      Hubby is gonna act as my salesman/secretary today and call the corporate office......*gulp!*...Just saying the words 'corporate office' makes me nervous and has my stomach trying to do cartwheels!!! O_O

    Okay....confession...I don't trust very easily. And the idea of trusting a 'corporate office' to treat my idea with respect and not try to rake me over the coals and steal my idea...?!!!...I don't trust it AT ALL!!! O_O ...*gulp!*...Hubby keeps assuring me that not being business savvy will be alright...and not knowing 'business lingo' is not gonna be that much of a detriment to me....etc....

      I said to hubby: "Suppose they ask me what my 'business model' is?" O_O ... Hubby said: "Then you just tell them!".....I said: "Uhhhhh....I don't even know what 'business model' means!!!! I just heard it somewhere!!!!!!" O_O ...Hubby said: "I think it's got something to do with your slogan: 'Where nothing is wasted--not even the ugly!' " ... I said: "Are you sure?! O_O" ... "Nah! But I think so.".... O_O Aarghhhhhh!!!........I think we're in trouble folks!!! LOL...To be continued! ^_^ Have a good day, Everybody! :-)

      No, the weather hasn't gotten any better since yesterday. In fact, near where I live, in Agawam Massachusetts, there was a 'microburst'!...If you don't know what a microburst is, this gentleman, in a Youtube video, explains it HERE. 

     And as if that wasn't enough, there was also, in East Windsor Connecticut, a town right over the Border from us, an EF1 tornado!! O_O There was plenty of damage, but no people were hurt, I don't think....Just plain UGLY weather!!!

     That's why I was seeking some 'beautiful' today!...But as I was searching Etsy I realized that there is a subtle difference between what I would call 'cute', 'pretty' and 'beautiful'! I assembled what I call beautiful. Let's see if you agree?...including the header photo too!!

        Above are beautiful photos, beads, flowers and shoes!! :-) In my opinion they are, anyway!...As a contrast, I consider my brooches more on the 'cute' scale...

     Okay! Okay!...So I'm taking the opportunity to share my latest crochet brooches!! ^_^ Wellllll....I crocheted like a crazy girl yesterday! Somebody should see them besides me!! LOL
     Actually, some of these may go to my custom order customer...if she wants them. She'll get first choice. But any she doesn't prefer will be put into the Wuglyees shop...in the 'women's crochet flowers' section.
    Now I'm off to get me some beautiful breakfast, some beautiful time with my hubby, do some more beautiful (or cute! ^_^) crocheting, and maybe even get me a beautiful nap!...or two! LOL...Have a good day, Everybody! :-)

Beauty 

The sun is peeking through.
Its beam is flowing to the ground.
The Autumn at it's new peak,
and the leaves are fluttering down.

A baby girl's joyous laughing,
legs and arms kicking everywhere.
A mother, when she's  nursing,
playing with her baby's  hair.

The gentle rain, when falling
on a southern old tin roof.
A toddler's gap-faced grinning,
when they've  lost their first front tooth.

A man with long, bow legs,
walking slowly down the street.
A colorful spring flower,
visited by a bumble bee.

A person who is kind,
and smiles at everyone they meet.
An artist's painted picture,
with the last brush stroke complete.

An "I love you" that's said
just because they wanted to;
and the person that gives hugs
when they hear an "I love you".
(And there's  other beauty too.)

        YAY!!! It's Friday!.....Boooooo! It's pouring rain outside here in Holyoke... :-( ...but YAY!!!...because even though it's pouring rain also in London England, Wimbledon has a roof over center court, so there will still will be tennis!!!!!! ^_^ 

      YAY!!! It's 'virtual' date day too!....but there are no booooos about that AT ALL!!! :-) ... "Where are you going?" you ask!...Well, we're going somewhere where I can wear pretty clothes! :-) ...

    To be honest, with my bones aching a bit from the rain, and after a whole week of mildly flavored soups and stews, I wasn't quite sure I wanted to go to India! But hubby is ready for some excitement...and color...and some new scenery besides the backyard! :-)) So....off we go!!! ^_^

      I'm bringing my crocheting!...

      I've been working on the custom order of lady's brooches. I have one more to make...a pink one...and then I have to make backings for them, and create the buds in the middle, and put brooch pins on the backs of them too. 

     I could probably get this done before we leave for the trip, but I'm taking it with me instead...because something tells me that we're gonna be inside...near a 'facility' (if you get my drift! LOL) at some point on this trip!! LOL I mean...hubby's stomach is not as 'cast iron' as it used to be!...even if he won't admit it....YET!! ^_^

All The Things I Love

If I listed all the things I've loved
I could rattle on forever!
Whether by 'order of importance'
or by a poeticly quick endeavor.

Right now it's Tennis...Well, all sports,
and reading informative magazines.
And crocheting, food and music.
Well..that might be in my genes!

I've loved teaching and line dancing,
So many things in my short life.
But I've never jumped from a plane,
or wittled anything with a knife!

With every passing moon
I find some other thing that I love.
Whether grassy patterns on my lawn,
or phenomenal skies above.

Yes, if I listed all the things I loved
my words could fill all space,
It comes from curiosity,
and an Ooo-ing Awww-ing place!
