This Bag Full Of Yarn Is About Done!!!

     Before I start talking about yarn and crochet projects...which 'YOU KNOW' I'm gonna do!...let me talk about my tiny 'beaked bird helicopters', the hummingbirds. ^_^ Of course I'm always talking about them, but this time I've got pictures to go with all of the hype!! LOL
     If you look in the header photo, to the right, above the yellow forsythia bush, and below the bottom line of the hummingbird feeder, you can see one of them! :-) ... Okay! You can't completely see him! But you can see his little black and white marked tail! Can't you?!...Can't you?!!! O_O
 

     Yes, I know it's kinda hard to ignore all of that yellow forsythia!! ^_^ But you HAVE TO ignore it if you wanna see my little hummingbird baby!! :-) 

      My girlfriend came by with her animal loving son, and  he was happy to ignore the forsythia in order to see the hummingbird! :-) Unfortunately, all he could see was it's little tail hanging from underneath the feeder....UNTIL we told him the trick! ^_^  
     The trick is to get really close to the window and then jiggle the window blind!...because we've trained our hummingbirds to come to the window and say hello to us when we move the window blind! ^_^ Okay!...so they're not really coming just to say hello! They're actually used to my hubby putting new nectar in the feeder when it gets low. :-) They LOVE to see him coming!!
     Anyway, when the window blind is jiggled, this is what you get!...
 

     ...you get a curious hummingbird, wondering who you are, and why you're so short! LOL (My husband is over six-feet tall. ^_^) Of course me, I was wondering something too!....I was wondering how long it had been since my window pane had been washed! O_O ... OOPS!!

      Moving on!! ^_^ ... These are the projects from my girlfriend's bag of 'INTERESTING' yarn. O_O The short circular neck scarf... 
     

     ... The variegated blue hat...
 

     I just this moment realized that I didn't take a photo of the finished hat!! Ugh! O_O And I'm not stopping my stream of blog thought to snatch the hat off of Shequita's (my head model) head to take a photo of it either!!
 

     You'll just have to imagine it, all variegated blue, with rings of blue and white near the bottom. :-))

     Too bad I didn't try that 'imagine this' trick with this 'packing peanuts' yarn scarf!! LOL...
 

     What do you think?...do the ruffles at the bottom make it look at least a little bit girlie?!

     Anyway...that's it!! :-) Of course, Saturday has just begun. Who knows what I'll have to talk about tomorrow!! LOL Stay tuned....or not. I'll still be talking to somebody!! ^_^

You Probably Don't Care!

I know you probably don't care,
but I will tell you anyway!
I mean, I have to talk about it.
It's what I do most every day!

I know you have your own things going,
and my things? You could care less.
But I have to spill it, talk,
share, converse, chat, or confess.

Don't you have some days like that,
when you just 'let down your hair'?
Well, today was that for me,
and it's okay if you don't care!

As you see, it didn't stop me.
I'm still talking, cracking wise.

It's Time To Warm Up Around Here! :-)

      Yes, I know you've seen these mug sweaters before, but considering how cold it is outside...almost too cold to hold onto a cup of tea!...I thought it was time to show you these warm 'babies' again!

      In fact, I wish I could show you every warm thing in t he world today! ^_^ But who has the time for that kind of folderol?!...Not me! I've got things to do!!...crocheting, talking, typing with my sore hand...OUCH!...and napping! ^_^

      So, let's talk about the weather, shall we?!...Brrrrr!...It's 20 degrees fahrenheit here in Massachusetts right now!...That's below freezing, for those of you who haven't had your third cup of coffee yet, and are wondering what this silly 'Wug' woman is talking about! LOL

      It's a good day to look at warm and colorful mittens, don't you think?! ^_^ ...

      Otherwise in Wugland, Uhhhhh....I could tell you about my dream of me and......Nahhhhh! I better not tell  you about that!! ^_^ ... Or I could tell you the whole conversation hubby and I had this morning about all of t he nicknames he and I call each other..Ha! Ha! Ha!....Nahhhhhh! I better not get into that either!! ^_^

I Wish I Could Wave Off The Time

I wish I could wave off the time
the way you wave off a fly about to land.
Just 'poo poo' appointments I'm dreading
with a flick and a wave of the hand.

If only the time went unnoticed,
like 'extras' on some movie set.
One shot it's as if they were coming,
the next shot they've not gotten there yet.

I'm dreading the phone calls and chatting,
as if time has somehow just stood still.
I wish I could wave off the ticking,
and hours of quiet to fill.

I know soon the day will be over.
The consciousness is in this rhyme.
Still I'm dreading the fact that it's coming,
and I wish I could wave off the time.

Time To Say Goodbye.....*Sigh*

        Before my 'Goodbye' sounds too dire, let me tell you that it's not a goodbye to a person! It's a goodbye to some items currently in my shop. It's time...*sigh*...time to let them expire and be gone from my online venue.

       The reason is because the U.S. Postal Service has gone waaaaaaay up on the prices for shipping things out of the country. To the point where shipping anything weighty ends up costing ridiculous amounts of money...more than the item itself!!

      Case in point: I shipped a few boutonnieres to the U.K. recently. Usually the same package would've cost me around $5.00 to ship. This time it cost me more than $12.00. MORE than a boutonniere!! O_O And frankly, with the 'Wug' family's current financial down-turn, we just can't afford to be generous with those kind of prices anymore!

      So, I'm gonna have to find some way to sell my scarves and pocketbooks off-line. The shawl in the header photo, which I spent hours and hours on, and which weighs about as much as a small child!,...has to go..."Bye Bye, Pretty Baby." :-(

       And this one has to go too...

      

      It's also a heavy 'baby'!...It's probably all of that love they're so full of! ^_^ 

      For the time being they're still in the shop. But it won't be long before they're gone. Some of the scarves and other items already expired. I'm about to send them packing to a consignment store...or something!

      If any of you are interested in them, you can click on the photos and go over to the listing that has the price and the description, size, materials, and so forth...I know I'm gonna end up on the losing end of the deal, with the cost of the shipping being ridiculous, but for the time being I wanted to give my 'babies' an opportunity to go to a good home. And I know that if any of my blog readers bought them they'd be heading off to sunny skies, open fields, and lots and lots of adventure! ^_^
      That's where I headed last night for our virtual date too! :-)  Sunny skies, open fields, and lots and lots of adventure!....Not really. We went to New York! :-)) There were no sunny skies or open fields anywhere! ^_^ But we did have banana splits and refreshing, adventurous naps! :-))
       I got really tired and had to say 'Goodbye' to the big city early...just like I have to say 'Goodbye' to my crochet 'babies' soon...and to you NOW!! ^_^ 'Goodbye!' See you tomorrow! :-)

Ease By Rhyme

To ease my mind,
I jot down a rhyme.

When forced to think,
my brain cells link.

With emotions on paper,
anxieties taper.

With the flow of my pen,
I'm  at peace again.

And to jot down this rhyme,
brought ease to my mind.
