This Bag Full Of Yarn Is About Done!!!

     Before I start talking about yarn and crochet projects...which 'YOU KNOW' I'm gonna do!...let me talk about my tiny 'beaked bird helicopters', the hummingbirds. ^_^ Of course I'm always talking about them, but this time I've got pictures to go with all of the hype!! LOL
     If you look in the header photo, to the right, above the yellow forsythia bush, and below the bottom line of the hummingbird feeder, you can see one of them! :-) ... Okay! You can't completely see him! But you can see his little black and white marked tail! Can't you?!...Can't you?!!! O_O
 

     Yes, I know it's kinda hard to ignore all of that yellow forsythia!! ^_^ But you HAVE TO ignore it if you wanna see my little hummingbird baby!! :-) 

      My girlfriend came by with her animal loving son, and  he was happy to ignore the forsythia in order to see the hummingbird! :-) Unfortunately, all he could see was it's little tail hanging from underneath the feeder....UNTIL we told him the trick! ^_^  
     The trick is to get really close to the window and then jiggle the window blind!...because we've trained our hummingbirds to come to the window and say hello to us when we move the window blind! ^_^ Okay!...so they're not really coming just to say hello! They're actually used to my hubby putting new nectar in the feeder when it gets low. :-) They LOVE to see him coming!!
     Anyway, when the window blind is jiggled, this is what you get!...
 

     ...you get a curious hummingbird, wondering who you are, and why you're so short! LOL (My husband is over six-feet tall. ^_^) Of course me, I was wondering something too!....I was wondering how long it had been since my window pane had been washed! O_O ... OOPS!!

      Moving on!! ^_^ ... These are the projects from my girlfriend's bag of 'INTERESTING' yarn. O_O The short circular neck scarf... 
     

     ... The variegated blue hat...
 

     I just this moment realized that I didn't take a photo of the finished hat!! Ugh! O_O And I'm not stopping my stream of blog thought to snatch the hat off of Shequita's (my head model) head to take a photo of it either!!
 

     You'll just have to imagine it, all variegated blue, with rings of blue and white near the bottom. :-))

     Too bad I didn't try that 'imagine this' trick with this 'packing peanuts' yarn scarf!! LOL...
 

     What do you think?...do the ruffles at the bottom make it look at least a little bit girlie?!

     Anyway...that's it!! :-) Of course, Saturday has just begun. Who knows what I'll have to talk about tomorrow!! LOL Stay tuned....or not. I'll still be talking to somebody!! ^_^

      Okay...so listen to me now. I know that most of you aren't interested...in the least!...about what my next artsy crochet hat project is gonna be!...I KNOW!! ^_^ But if you think that that's gonna stop me from showing you what it's gonna be...you're waaaay wrong! LOL
      I don't have much going on in my life right now, except tennis...{"Congratulations 'Baby Boy' Rafa Nadal for pulling it out!! :-) ... And you too Maria Sharapova!!...Maybe next year, Lleyton Hewitt!" ^_^}...and some...SHHHHHHHH!...*whispering*...football slippers, size 12!! ^_^ Yes, I'm making them for my hubby! :-) But hubby has no idea. So...shhhhhhh! ^_^
      I still have a soft pink baby blanket to make, but I found out that she doesn't need it until around the end of February...Good thing too! My funds are kinda low, and I need to buy some yarn for it!... :-] ...But, for right now, it's artsy crochet hat projects by day, and covert football slipper crocheting by night...or whenever hubby leaves the house! LOL
      The next artsy crochet hat will be this color...
      

     ...It's 'berry blue'! :-) ... Why this color, you ask?! O_O Well, because I found a really artsy applique, and it has this color in it's stones! :-) ...
 

     My applique has chains and rhinestones...or at least that's what I think they are!! LOL {Wouldn't it be something if they were some expensive gem?!...No chance, people!! ^_^} The applique also has ribbons, wrinkled fabric, and tiny safety pins! ^_^ 
 

      Now, if that's not artsy I don't know what is!!! ^_^ I can hardly wait to finish it to see how it turns out!! :-) And then it'll be on to the next one...with pink, and a little 'Mona Lisa' inspiration! ^_^ ... I know...I know!! Ha! Ha!...But you know I'm gonna show it to you anyway!! LOL..."Hello!...Is anybody still out there?!"...*cricket sounds* :-) Have a good rest of the day...whoever! ^_^ ♥

      Today's post is gonna be cut and dried...sorta kinda. :-] All I'm gonna do is show off a few items that caught my eye on etsy today. There will be no bacon, eggs, and pancakes. No new artsy crochet hats...*that's for tomorrow maybe! ^_^*...No long conversations about........nothing! :-) Aren't you happy?!!...You stop that nodding of your head up and down!! LOL

       Anyway! :-) ... While you're looking at these adorable items I'll take the opportunity to tell you a couple of random things. Like, for instance, that my mother-in-law is back home now. She had to go on a long journey south to her sister's funeral. She passed away last week. :-( She was driven there by my sister-in-law and brother-in-law. It was very loving of them to take the time offfrom their jobs to get her there...especially considering that storm 'Hektor' gave them a few problems when they were coming back through the Virginia area! O_O

      Now that they're back though, I'm sure everybody is physically tired, mentally exhausted, and looking for the first stationary pillow they can find to lay their heads on!...and, of course, a little  sumthin' sumthin' to throw in their mouths!! ^_^ Roadside eateries have much to be desired in the way of real sustenance! ^_^

      Just for ha has, I took a little nap and ate a little sumthin' sumthin' today too! ^_^...but it was just my normal routine! LOL I didn't take a long trip anywhere...unless you call the crochet trip in my mind 'anywhere'! :-)) I'm working on three...count 'em...THREE crochet hats all at the same time right now!! ^_^ The reason is because I got bored waiting for hubby to find the 'persimmon' colored yarn...*why is it that stores are always out of the exact thing you're looking for...just saying?!!*...so I started a purple hat, and a sunshine yellow one too! ^_^ And then the persimmon yarn came!...Now I'm working on three of them!! LOL

        Okay...lastly, is anyone else watching 'Downton Abbey'?!! O_O I am just amazed at where the storyline is going this season! It's clearing up some things, but making me worry about some other things!! LOL Good thing it's just a tv show. It's just a tv show. It's just a tv show!! LOL What can I say?....Oh, I know! I can say it's not tennis or football!! ^_^ Stay tuned on the tennis front though. The Australian Open is coming in about a week! Woohoo!!!!! :-)

Story Of An Unhappy Package Shipper

      I'm a girl that loves mail! I love to send...and receive...mail!...whether they be letters, cards, or packages. Well, I guess I should say I love to receive 'most' mail. My love would not include bills and store advertising flyers. Those...I'm not a fan of receiving! O_O...But personal letters and cards?...I LOVE to receive them! :-]

    I love mail so much that when I was a young girl I used to wait out on the stoop of our house for the mailman to come, and I would walk him to our door, while carrying on a little chat with him...of course. :-) Yeah, I guess you could say I LOVED mail!..or was it the mail carrier?! O_O...WHATEVER!

      But that's why I'm so unhappy now, about the increase in prices over the last month or so, for getting mail...and packages...shipped. :-( Especially the packages from my Wuglyees Etsy shop to customers in and outside of the United States! :-(

       Actually, I'm more than unhappy about the international prices. I'm heart-sick. :-( I used to ship one of my little lapel pins...

    ...let's say...to London, in the United Kingdom, for about $5 or $6...depending on the size of the free gift I was including in the package...But I just shipped that very same thing to London the other day and it cost $9.45!!...It's ridiculous!!...especially since my lapel pin is only $9 by itself!! O_O Now the customer will be paying more for shipping than for the item that they're purchasing!!...*sigh*

     And if the weight of my tiny, one inch long, lapel pin is costing that much to ship, you can just about imagine how much my thick crocheted scarves and pocketbooks are gonna cost!! O_O...It's making me wonder if shipping out of the country even makes sense anymore. O_O

     I've only had one over seas customer since the shipping prices went up...But of course, it's February!...I'm gonna try to hold out until at least June, and see what happens. By that time weddings will have been planned, dinner parties will be had, and all kinds of auctions and museum openings will have begun. :-) If nobody is buying a dressy lapel pin by then...I'll know it's about time to pack up my 'dog and pony show'...lapel pin-wise!...and I don't mean packing it up for shipping either!! LOL

      Moving on!...Ugh!...Have a good day, Everybody...By the way, my stinky mood didn't have anything to do with my 'To Do' list yesterday. :-)) I got every single thing on the list DONE!! :-) Happiness!!...Maybe tomorrow I'll get a bunch of sales and my 'happy shipper' mood will return! ^_^ ... Well What Did You Think I Would Be Talking About This Morning?!

      I know most of you probably don't care, but football conversation is all I got today! ^_^ Well, football and football side-affects!...swollen fingers from eating all of the salty corn chips and cheetoes, a slightly sore throat from yelling, and a headache from not getting enough sleep! LOL

     It was such a good game!! Even better than I thought it was gonna be! :-) I wasn't so sure that was gonna be the case after the first half, because the Ravens were running away with the game. RUNNING AWAY!!!

     But after a loooooong half-time 'Beyonce' show, and then a stadium blackout for 35 minutes....NO KIDDING!!...the 49ers decided it was time to play ball! They ran a touchdown in the first 11 seconds of the 3rd quarter!!! O_O I started to worry a little at that point, and from then on it was a nervous nail-biter!

     But in the end, when the confetti started to fly...

      ...Joe Flacco...alias 'Joe Cool'...and the Baltimore Ravens pulled it off!!! ^_^ Hubby and I did a 'WE WIN!' high-five because we both wanted the Ravens to win!....wherein he came in for the high-five and almost took my arm off, y'all!! Grrrr!...Apparently that high-five thing isn't quite perfected to be effective when he's really excited! lol

    The only other news this morning is that I finally sold one of my crocheted rings in my Wuglyees shop!!!! :-) FINALLY!...

      I was beginning to think that I was gonna have to start wearing those rings myself!! :-] One ring down...a whole lot more to go! :-]

You Did 'WHAT' In The Snow?!!

      Sorry I'm a bit late getting the post up today..for anybody that noticed!... ^_^ ...but I'm in 'old lady slow motion' today for some reason! I woke up like that! O_O Maybe it's leftover 'snow-lag' from yesterday or something. LOL

     And you know how it is when you're in slow motion to start off with!...Everybody and their mama wants to call you on the phone,...Everything on your body wants to hurt so bad that you can't move except for in slow motion,...And everything that could've happened later, just has to happen RIGHT NOW!!

   So here I sit, with a mind full of marbles rolling around, and a 'white-out' of brightness coming through the window...because of the 6 or 7 inches of snow we got yesterday...Ugh!...The good thing about it is that I don't have anything pressing to do today...unless I get a sale that needs to be shipped!... (which hubby already had to do once this morning..happily!!)...and It's FRIDAY DATE DAY!!! :-)...and my little winter birds are back at the feeder, including woodpeckers!! :-)

     If I could get photos of the woodpeckers and the cardinal together...wouldn't I be a SPECIAL photographer?!!!...No worries. It's NOT gonna happen!! ^_^ Instead I'll be happy to share other Etsian's photos, and items, with you...Items showing all of the great things you could do in the snow!!... :-) ...like the snow-blowing photo in the header.

Upside Down, But Still.....Crochet!

        I'm not gonna talk about why I'm so late getting started this morning, but YOU know!....Yeah, YOU know!! ^_^ I'm not gonna talk about it because that's not what I'm talking about this week! What I'm talking about this week is crochet, crochet, crochet!!

      And along those lines...and nothing else,...especially nothing else about upside down sleeping issues!....Uh Oh! I just talked about it! LOL...Oh well, onward and crochet-upward! ^_^ I wanna show you a few of my new lapel pins and brooches.

       I think I showed you this one. It's the one my hubby wants. I'm still debating on giving it to him. ^_^ I can make him ones any time...

     But I've been crocheting a 'pink bonanza' of pins! :-) ...If you ever saw "Bonanza", with all of that land they owned, you'll get that reference. ^_^ If not, I've been crocheting A WHOLE LOT OF PINK! LOL

I made these three using some variegated thread...

      This one (above) is one of my lady brooches with a few extra petals. I'm still debating about whether to put a button on it...What do you think?!

       

       This is one of my regular 2-inch (or smaller) ones. (above) I advertise this size for men or women...but I don't know about this color for men...unless they're 'manly men' who eat quiche and wear what they wanna without shame! Ha! Ha!....Yes, it's early in the morning here. And no, I don't have anything alcoholic in with my green tea.

       This my favorite of the bunch. (above) It has such a delicate look. And I can put any kind of button on it to appeal to men or women...for a wedding party, a special dinner, or something like that...I put brooch pins on the back of all three of these...

      ...I didn't want to put the fold-able pins on them, even on the ones for men, because of the pink. I'll have to wait and see who they appeal to most :-) ...But these weren't the end of my crocheting...I KNOW! Shocking, right?!...I did something yesterday besides....Oh, wait! I can't talk about that. ^_^

      I love the iridescent looking button on this one. It's smokey gray and black.

       This one is definitely for men. I even went ahead and put a button on the back of it. There's no turning back now! ^_^ ...Truth is, I felt pretty confident that this one would sell. I had a customer tell me yesterday how happy he was to find a black lapel pin in my shop. He said I would be surprised how hard they are to find!...I'm gonna try to make sure that they're a little bit easier to find from now on. ^_^
