A Rough Night...But A Pretty Hat!

      I had a rough night last night, so I'm not gonna be doing a lot of chit-chatting today. I just wanted to stop by and show you the photos hubby took for me of the first 'artsy' hat I finished. :-) 

      It's basically my tube hat, but with an applique. But the work involved to get the applique on there was a lot more involved than that! ^_^ Don't you love it when 'pretty' looks simple?! :-)
 

      I love the movable bead dangles in the middle of the flower. :-) Art and movement. Does it get any better than that when you're acting all creative?! :-)
 

      As to my restless night...UGH!!! I ate something from a 'take-out' place last night and ended up...***forgive me. There's no 'nice' way to say this!***...throwing up over and over again all night! O_O It was NOT pretty!!
      And I spent the whole of this morning napping and sipping tea and soup, to try to stop my growly restless stomach from trying to 'throw caution to the wind' again!!! UGH! That's what I get for trying to spend money making somebody fix something for me that I could fix for myself!!! ^_^ Lesson learned!
      Okay...back to my crocheting. I've got another 'artsy' hat almost done! :-) Have a good rest of the day, Everybody! ♥

     Yes, I know! I'm not much fun these days, showing shawl after shawl after shawl!...And yes, there is one extra shawl in there...because I started another one! ^_^ ...

     I was on such a roll with the other two shawls that I figured that 'NOW' would be the time to finally make the bridal shawl I've been wanted to make for years!...
 

 

     I have some vintage cotton thread that I got from Portugal over twenty-five years ago. I've been putting it off, and putting it off...the making of this wedding shawl. But now...it has begun! :-) ...
 

     It's gonna be elegant, white and champagne colored. :-] And I'm hoping some bride will wanna scoop it up and value it, in the same way I have valued the soft and cushiony balls of Portuguese cotton I've had all these years. :-] ...
 

     Even though it's laying up against one of my old vintage blankets, it's looking all fancy and duded-up, isn't it?! ^_^ It's been a joy to crochet so far...even though I'm kinda cross-eyed from crocheting so much!! ^_^
      Part of the reason I'm doing these shawls right now is because I need to make something sell-able for my shop, and right now boutonnieres and crochet flowers ain't doing it!! LOL They're really time-consuming though! I haven't been online much, or doing much of anything else either that isn't a necessity!
     By the way, here's the other shawl I finished...the black and white one!...

      It's been an interesting day. It started out with snow on the ground and a temperature of 29 degrees!...Now, all of the snow has disappeared from the yard, and the green grass looks as though there never was snow there in the first place! O_O

      So, just on the chance that winter has decided that it's not ready to go yet, I thought I'd share a few 'cover-ups'! :-) First, some cover ups for your hands!...Some fingerless gloves that have 'gone-to-the-dogs'! ^_^ ...

      I always say how impressed I am at the talented people on Etsy, but gloves where you can personalize your doggie onto them?!...WOW! :-) You can wear them when you go out to walk the dog, make some 'Woof! Woof!' noises, and totally confuse the dog altogether!! LOL

      Frankly, I don't want to give winter that much attention!! ^_^ I'm gonna pretend it never snowed, and that tomorrow I'll be able to put on a bikini and go to the beach!.....Bahahahahahahaaahha!! ^_^ ...Now you know the weather is driving me crazy!! ME...in a bikini?! O_O ...Bahahahahahahaahahahahaha!!!...Wait!...Did I just see a pig fly?!! LOL

     I've crocheted outfits before!...jackets, 2-piece skirt sets, blouses, etc... My problem was always the linings. I HATE putting linings into anything!!...YUCK! O_O Thankfully I have good friends who are great at putting linings into stuff! :-) They've even lined a few pocketbooks for me over the years! ♥

      Would you wear a crocheted dress?!...Don't answer too fast! I may make one soon and ask you to wear, and photograph yourself in it, for me! ^_^ ... I've been looking for something else to sink my crochet 'teeth' into for a while. A crocheted dress...a toilet tissue holder doll dress...a fancy shoulder shawl...or a few baby blankets?! They're all on my 'Maybe' list....Which one do you think it should be?...Or do you have another suggestion?!

       I was gonna show you some of the new flower boutonnieres I finished lately, but my camera batteries died on me...and uhhhh...when I went to put new batteries in the camera....Uhhhh...I found out that I don't have any more batteries! O_O Well...not yet anyway! Hubby is bringing me some home this afternoon!!...So stay tuned! ^_^

     

     Okay, one last thing to talk about today. My physical therapy exercises. :-) I've been such a good girl that my physical therapist wants me to add some more exercises to my repertoire! O_O 'Blink! Blink!'...Uhhhh...maybe I've been TOO GOOD of a girl!! LOL

      Not only have I exercised myself into more exercises, but she also wants me to add 2-pound weights!!!! O_O Oh Boy!...So much for doing as I'm told, right?! Ha! Ha!...Oh well, at least there will be some benefit for me in the end...Not like the time when I was younger, and was picking peas all day...only to end up almost bit by a snake, and stung by a swarm of bees!! Flowers To Cure What Ails Me!

     Hello, Y'all!...I hope all of you are doing fine. I'm still working on it. As of right now...after two more blood draws...YUCK!!...and a fever that seems to not want to go away and stay away...I' holding my own. While I'm awake I mean! :-) Frankly, there's been lots and lots of sleeping.
      The pretty flowers were a gift from some dear friends. ♥ They came with ginger ale, and all kinds of 'sick-girl-get-better' stuff! ^_^  

      So far the blood work has shown that my potassium was very low. So I have to eat a banana and drink orange juice every day...Doctor's orders!...That's not bad medicine, right?! :-)

      I have a few other weird things going on that I don't quite understand. Like apparently my sed rates are high?!...?????...I don't know what that means, but apparently it's not good! The doctors and nurses are kinda giving me that idea too!
      They don't have to tell me it's not good though. The fact that I haven't been wanting to crochet or talk or nothing was my clue!!...Oh well, whatever it is will show itself soon, I'm sure. They sure are poking me enough to find it!!! LOL
      Sorry I'm not more regular around here. Please hang in there a bit longer with me. My 'talker' will be back in full form soon, I'm sure! ^_^ ... On a good note...IT'S SPRING!!!! :-) It was bound to get here sooner or later...even if there's another snowstorm due here next week...Ugh!...Hey! Food and Accessories, Getting Ready For Fall at Wuglyees!

    Before I continue with today's post, let me first tell all of you who have been concerned about our safety, with hurricane Earl heading our way, that it's looking better and better for us here in the Holyoke Massachusetts area every time I see a weather update. It appears that Earl is toggling more and more Easterly all the time. Good for us, but maybe not good for those further up the coast from us. Only time will tell.

    We ARE due to get our fair share of wind and rain, but nothing like it looked like we would get when they were talking about the storm earlier in the week! The outer banks of North Carolina, around the Cape Hatteras area, seems to be getting the brunt of it right now. I'm thinking good thoughts for everyone in that area.

   I'm trying to get my mind wrapped around the fact that hurricanes, the leaves changing on the trees, and cooler weather finally starting, means Fall is upon us. Time to change the food menu from cold salads, grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, to soups and more substantial dishes. Something like this?!

     Have you ever had stuffed peppers made with ground turkey?! Trust me, it's delicious!!

     Every single, savory, flavorful, bite!!! YUM! And it's even better when you don't have to cook it, but a friend gives you enough for 2 meals! Yep! These pictures are actually the leftovers of the meal that was cooked for us! There were red and green stuffed peppers. Hubby and I devoured the 'green' ones already! *Teehee* Our friend is a very good cook!!!

     It's not only food that's showing the change of the seasons though. If you look around, in store windows and even on the web, you'll see the change in the colors that are being focused on, from clothing to crafts. That being said, I figured I'd better do some tweaking to my Wuglyees (on Etsy) shop. I'm not focusing on NEW right now though. Yes, I do have some new things made, but I'm not putting them in the shop right now. I may be putting them in a new spot soon! I'll tell you more about that on a future post.
