A Quick 'Virtual Friday' Check-In!

      Hello Y'all!! ^_^ I know...I know! It's been a while since I posted on the blog...AGAIN! ^_^ But I had a few days of 'busy, busy, busy'...'sick, sick, sick'! So here I am, AFTER all of that, ready to do a quick 'check-in' with you! :-)
      And since I couldn't remember what I showed you already, and I was too lazy to go back through my recent blog posts to find out, :-) I decided to just do a quick 'Did-I-Show-You-This'!! ^_^ Sooooo...did I show you the mint scarf and gloves set?...
       

      Did I show you the red tote bag, with the big crochet flower sewn on?!...

 

      If I didn't show it to you before, well now I have! ^_^ And if I did show it to you before, uhhhhh....now you've seen it again!! ^_^ That's what you get, trying to 'check-in' with a semi-menopausal lady, with a memory like a sieve, and not enough time on her hands to look up from her crocheting!! LOL

       There is something I didn't show you though! It's the finished 'Ugly Wuglyee' hooded child's sweater! :-) ...

 

      I made it from a lot of my leftover bits and pieces of yarn. And don't you dare say: "We can tell!!" LOL ...
 

      The truth is...I'm not that fond of the colors. ^_^ My girlfriend is making the same sweater for her son, using some gorgeous creams and blacks and so forth. Hers is looking FABU!! In fact, I'm almost tempted to make it again, using some 'proper' yarn! :-) The only downfall is that I don't have a little one to make it for!! ^_^
 

      I'll try to get a photo of her sweater being worn by her little boy when she's all done...which may be quite a while, considering the fact that she hasn't even finished the back of hers yet, and has a front, sleeves, and cuff and bottom line gathering to do on it! But when she's done...!! :-]

            While taking a break from 'virtually-packing' for a 'virtual trip' to Nepal later this evening, I'm working on my latest project! ^_^ It's a multi-colored circular cowl scarf. I'm using the rest of that leftover yarn I have in my bag. {No!! I will NOT waste yarn!! ^_^} It may be too ugly to wear with pride, but just ugly and warm enough to wear tucked inside a coat! ^_^ Hey! Winter is gonna be here sometime soon, right?!!

      Speaking of winter coming...Or, rather, should I say Fall (Autumn)...I'M NOT READY!!!! :-) I'm still mourning the 'Bye-Bye' of my hummingbirds!!...***a little tear just fell***Yes, they're gone! :-( I've been staring at a half full feeder full of nectar for almost a week now, trying not to let the reality of their disappearance sink in. But the chilly temps, and the different look of the sky, is fighting with my sense of un-reality!! I just keep reminding myself, like the words to George Benson's song, Everything Must Change.***another hummingbird tear just fell.*** ^_^

      Okay, click on the Youtube link above and enjoy George Benson. :-) I'm off to get my 'virtual packing' done....And, Oh Yeah!, My sister's coming by this weekend!!!...And I have to make a couple of cheesecakes too!! O_O I almost forgot about that!! YIKES!! O_O The cheesecakes are for a cheesecake exchange that's happening this weekend!! My friend wants me to make her one of my cheesecakes, and she's making me one of hers! :-) It's too bad we don't have 'taste-O-blog', so I could share them with you!! ^_^ My sister may get a piece now though!! ^_^

Catching Up

I see life from my perspective.
And it's always a full cup.
I rarely see the glass half empty.
I don't let much interrupt.

But now I find this needs a change.
I have some catching up to do.
I have some things that need updating.
And some family bonds to glue.

Some things have lagged unmercifully.
They need some tweaking, not too much.
Just need to get back some perspective..
Get some family lines in touch.

This catching up will be wide ranging.
Out with the old, in with the new.
But when you're catching up with people,
there's still some old when you're all through.

Catching up sometimes is tiring.
Maybe that's why I've been waiting.
And, besides, when I'm all done,
there seems there's more that needs updating! 

Magnolias For 'Virtual Friday Date Day'?!

      
      Happy Friday, Everybody! ^_^ Or, at least, I hope it's a happy Friday for you! I'm pretty sure it will be for me. It's 'Virtual Friday Date Day' with my Honey! How could it not?! ^_^ We're heading south for our 'virtual trip' tonight. We're gonna do these magnolias up right!! LOL
      Not the magnolias in the photos today. These aren't in the south. These are here!! :-) Hubby went outside and snapped some photos...Aren't they gorgeous?! ^_^ ...
   

      They're not gonna be around long. Magnolia trees bloom fast, and the blooms go away fast! But Oh, how pretty they are while they're here!!! :-) Ahhhhhh! Flowers!!....Flowers on a Friday!!!! :-]
 

      And it's almost as if they're sitting up and noticing how blue and clear the sky is too! :-) ...For now anyway!...We're due to get a few rain showers later...just like we had early, early this morning!...'Party Poopers!!' :-)) Whatever!!...We have 'rain-clear' skies, and flowers, now!! ^_^

      As you can probably tell, there's not much going on around here...because I'm talking about magnolia trees while I'm sitting here in my 'nighty', typing, watching Rachel Ray, sipping green tea, and crocheting when commercials come on!! LOL
       Speaking of which...the crocheting I mean...let me show you how my baby blanket is coming along! :-) ...

      It's still going 'as slow as molasses'!...WOW! I'm even starting to use southern expressions!! LOL...Hey! You get in the Friday mood the way YOU want to, and I'll get in the Friday mood the way I want to!! ^_^
      As I was saying.....It's........going.........S-L-O-W!!!! O_O I have to do 83 rows of the middle part, and I'm only on row 33...or something like that!...I'm gonna need a big nap, and a long hand massage, when I'm done with this blanket!...(yelling) "Did you hear that, Honey?!!" ^_^

      He didn't hear me. ^_^ He's somewhere packing for our trip, no doubt. *wink, wink!* ^_^

All My Plans Unfurled

With all my plans unfurled today,
and nothing urgent pressing me,
I might crochet another scarf
or have a steeping cup of tea.

I might watch an old movie,
or take a nap, just for a minute.
Or I might take out a book to read,
or jot a few nice words down in it.

When you don't have any children,
and no job to do from home.
You can stay in your pajamas,
and have hair that you don't comb.

Yes, with all my plans unfurled,
there could be lots that I 'could' do.
It's always true...I could be busy,
but kinda nice I don't 'have to'!

      Sorry I'm late getting my post up today, but it's Friday! :-) I deserved to sleep 'in' a little bit this morning, considering the kind of week I've had!...Trust me on that!!...But I'm up now! And I'm mentally fully engaged...for what that's worth! LOL

      My mind is all about what I'm gonna do with my Friday! I'm not in the mood for traveling...Nope. I'm really not. O_O But I am in the mood to go somewhere...cinema-style! :-) ...

Ease, By Rhyme

To ease my mind,
I jot down a rhyme.

When forced to think,
my brain cells link.

With emotions on paper,
anxieties taper.

With the flow of my pen,
I'm  at peace again.

And to jot down this rhyme,
brought ease to my mind. 

It's A Friday Not Meant For Traveling...but for coffee and flowers!

     Phew!...I actually thought Friday might not come this week! O_O It seems like it's been a long...long...long...Saturday through Thursday!! So, I'm very thankful to see that Friday decided that it would keep a normal schedule...especially since nothing else in my life seemed to wanna keep a 'business as usual' schedule this week!

     And yes, I am aware that it's also 'virtual' Friday Date Day! :-) But considering the ups and downs, flips and rolls, and jumps and starts of this week...we've decided to let our date be 'BREATHING!!!!' ^_^

     We're not going anywhere today. We're gonna take some time to stare at flowers from the window, take naps, look deeply into each other's eyes, be thankful for having each other...and God!...and dear friends! (who have been INVALUABLE this week!!!!!) And we're gonna contemplate our many blessings this week!...MANY!...and the ones responsible for them!

      I know I'm being kinda vague. Unfortunately, being online, writing about your crazy life, requires you to sometimes pull the reins back a little from what you would like to say....to more of a 'say it, but don't spray it' perspective. LOL

      So, for this Friday, I'd just like my post to be all about love...virtual and otherwise...and about dear dear friends who help you 'pull it together' when things seem to be about to unravel.....THANK YOU!!!!!....and oh yeah, this post is also about flowers! ^_^ ...

     The flowers had to be put here because I saw them and.....well, I wanted to! ^_^ I kinda like flowers!! :-) ... I kinda like coffee too!....Scratch that....LOVE coffee!...and I could sure use a cup for breakfast right about now!!...

     ...but I don't have one. So, it'll be the good old standby again....hot green tea, with honey and lemon! :-) But something tells me...it could be the gnawing craving I'm having 24/7 about it!! LOL...that a cup of coffee is gonna have to be in my near future! ^_^

I Like A Cuppa

I find I like a 'Cuppa' soup
when it's chilly out the door;
And I like a 'Cuppa' tea
every day around four.

And I like a 'Cuppa' coffee...
not a decaf 'Cuppa'...NO!...
any time of day or night
I like my steaming 'Cuppa' Joe!

'Virtual' Friday...Woohoo!!...and Things I'm Loving Right Now!

        Woohoo! It's another 'Virtual' Friday Date Day for me!! :-) And guess what?!....I have no idea where we're going! O_O I'm sure it can't be far because hubby didn't ask me to pack or anything. :-)) He did give some clues away though, so I 'think' I know where we're going. It's not far from where we live...It's a place to hear good music...and eat good food! That's all I require out of a good date!....Well, music, food, and a hubby in a good mood! ^_^ 

       It's raining out right now too, so a good mood is a definite 'must have'! I mean who wants to go on a date with a tall, dark, and handsome man whose in a bad mood?!....Uhhhhh....not me! ^_^ On rainy days I usually have enough cranky, achy bad mood and pain for the occasion all by myself anyway, thank you very much!! LOL

      Moving on!!...Let me share a few of the things I'm loving right now! :-) Rest assured that rain and dark clouds will not be included, no matter how, what, where, when, or why they show up!!! :-) ...
